1301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any recommendable good strategies for football gamblers on: December 04, 2020, 08:33:28 PM
I just want you peoples' opinions as it might help before choosing a club to stake good bet. I have tried live games but I have lost money from the online game, you will think the club you chose will win but later the opposite will happen. I later have to leave live matches to only stake on prematches which I believe would be better to earn, but still I am not profiting from gambling. I make use of bet predicting sites but yet they have proven to be not reliable.

What can I do now?

Is there any good bet predicting site you know that can help?
Just to verify, do you mean American football or just soccer?
I had thread here and was posing predictions around certain matches that I knew well. I wasn't just posting blindly and suggesting to bet on this or that. I was making a full and detailed review of what happened historically in previous matches, what were the results between these clubs in certain stadiums, which players were playing right now and which team was in good condition. Also, it plays a huge role when club craves win, i.e. when there are moments where the club has to win or they miss everything. You have to consider these details, you have to look at statistics and make deep analyze of it, in overall you need to know football/soccer history very well and you always have to be up to date. Believe me, it's very hard, that's why I just didn't follow it. Otherwise, when I was into the flow, it was amazing and exciting but still personally think that sports betting isn't something that you have to follow on long term.

any news on when election bets will be paid out?
it'd be nice for users to have a notice on website talking about it.

of course it's clear that Biden won/Trump lost but I understand if you're holding it due to political uncertainties, but other websites usually say all bets will be released by february 2021.

any news on that?

thanks.

Did you bet on the electoral college? If so, I think that's gonna take a while. Even Quin did mention he gets tons of emails requesting for the payouts.

no, I bet for Biden on "USA - PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2020 - NEXT PRESIDENT"
this is still pending as well. but will probably be solved soon.
so electoral college bettings are still pending too?
As far as I see there are still some very reputable casinos that regret to pay the money for bets that were done on elections. I won't mention their names because don't want it to look like an advertisement but in any way, personally, I think that they should pay because Baiden is officially the winner of election. I think a lot of people bet on Biden and they don't want to pay that amount of money quickly and have a reason for that. In any case, the last date for payments should be January 20, 2021 because this is the date when he enters into the office.
1303  Economy / Speculation / Re: 3rd times the charm 20K on: December 04, 2020, 07:05:23 PM
Nah, we are still far from $20k, currently at $19,300 per CMC. I'm not sure though if this is the 3rd time that we are trying to break to $20k though, but the last time, big resistance again and obviously, it was followed by a retracement to sub $19k. We will go there eventually, just need more patience mate.
Why do you think that we are far from $20K? It's 19K right now and you know what? People remember very well that we reached 20K high and it was back in 2017. Historically, expectation of people is that bitcoin's price should rise and it should be higher than it was previously. Also, you may already know that people have high expectation on halving and it was the reason that pushed bitcoin to become as high as 20K (from $600). Right now, the same situation happens. The rate of bitcoin's price rise is similar of previous year and if we moved from 600 USD to 20 000 USD (33x rise), then why do you think that people will have lower expectation right now? So we aren't far from 20K, we haven't been so near before.
1304  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoForum.org on: December 04, 2020, 06:27:26 PM
Why is everyone disagreeing with the idea of having that domain? It is a very good domain to own and has so much potential of course unless they're not creating to create another Bitcointalk.

@OP: You can maybe have a forum that offers tutorials for someone new getting into cryptos? Maybe a blog or something of that sort? The market is quite saturated on all that stuff but a unique idea can really put that domain to use.
Domain names is - cryptoforum.org There is a word "forum" on domain name and logically if there is anything built on this website, it should be a forum. Even if we consider another case, it will be illogical for users when they see cryptoforum as a domain name and see absolutely different staff on website.

Okay, when you want to start a business, you need a good domain name. Cryptoforum.org is really a good domain .com would be a better choice but since bitcointalk has an .org domain, it's logical.
Just wanted to add(because I'm a freakin nerd when it comes to SEO and these kinds of stuff):

a .org domain would actually sometimes be better for an online forum; "org" is truncated from the word "organization" in the first place. Though it really depends on what kind of look and feel OP has for CryptoForum. Imo, .org's are better for the Bitcointalk-ish traditional style of forums, while .com's would be better for the "trying-to-be-different" sort of style of forums like Reddit and Quora.

But really though, both could work and the advantages and disadvantages of a .com and .org forum wouldn't be THAT significant. It still boils down to management and if the forum actually takes off in the first place(because it's really difficult as fk to grow a forum on a decently established niche).
That's why I mentioned that it's logical that he took .org instead of .com and yes, in this case, .org would function better because of bitcointalk. On another hand, logically bitcoin.com has more value than bitcointalk.org for business purposes.
1305  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: If you are a gamer, come here! on: December 04, 2020, 05:33:58 PM
Btw I would say that adults like you (Let's imagine 30+) play games very often but most likely they visit gaming lounges with their friends.

I would say you are wrong.   I have always been in IT so I've always had a faster computer than the lounges.   I don't know a single friend who has ever visited a lounge either.   But, just having turned 50, I can't speak for the next couple generations. (I do like your imaginary 30 though!)

Gaming Lounges are dying.  They were useful at a time when bandwidth did not allow high quality multiplayer games.   But now a garage LAN party can be set up in minutes rather than hours, and streaming services such as Steam allow anyway to play/watch anything else without being there.

You are also a lot less likely to get financing if you split your business model like that.   Forget lounges, with the high rent, the viruses, the crime, etc and concentrate on an online system.   If you are locked on the lounge industry, teach rather than do.   Your website can focus on resources for planning and executing events and eventually you'll receive advertising from the industry!

Love to chat more on this.
You are welcome, thank you for your opinions.
Statistics depend on locations and in this case I talk from my perspective. We plan to open a gaming lounge in a good post-soviet country. I know it's a dead thing in the USA and other European countries but here is a different situation. First of all, no one spends a lot of money on computers, most people just have a PC or laptop that is able to run google chrome and Microsoft office. When people want to play games, they visit gaming lounges. Teens get some bucks and visit these centres (usually those who doesn't study much at school) and also most adults, as I mentioned, 30+ with their friends come after their job and play games. Usually, there are queues in gaming lounges.
But let's forget gaming lounge because it's not the right time to run such business because of Covid and restrictions set in this country.

Yeah, I know I'll get less financing, local business is just personal idea. We get a grant for an innovative digital idea. There is a team that works on cloud gaming services, at first we plan to negotiate with Microsoft and Nvidia (but personally I dream to launch something similar of Shadow.tech)

What kind of events do you mean? We have negotiated with some local casinos to sponsor us and run egaming tournaments (yeah, they are interested in it).
1306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will all countries accept crypto as currency? on: December 04, 2020, 04:55:03 PM
there are still many countries that cannot accept crypto in their country, why?  do you know  for example in the country of Indonesia crypto has not been legalized because it is considered gambling and money laundering, what about your countries?
Bitcoin doesn't need to be accepted from any country, that's the huge advantage of it. For example, if you live in country X and want to buy things on gucci.com, then you have to ship that items on American address, then to your country via the help of mail forward services. But the problem that arises here is that you can't pay with your visa/master card or whatever it is because website requires shipping and billing addresses to be matched with each other. In bitcoin's case, you don't need that. Any website, that has that first offer, gives you free choice when it comes with crypto payments.
1307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chances of BTC surpassing the value of Fiat Money on: December 04, 2020, 06:25:09 AM
Sorry if the topic sounds logically flawed I didn't dig much deeper into the financial fantasies of such.

I'm wondering what if one day Bitcoin goes so high up in value that it causes somewhat a fiat crisis? I mean imagine, you've Bitcoins but there isn't much cash available in the market to buy your BTC, or simply put people can't afford it? Will bitcoin be of any value then?
There will be available cash to buy bitcoin and satoshis. There will be a moment when the richest guy or guys together won't be able to buy the whole supply (no one is able at the moment too).
I have one question for you: How much gold do we have right now in overall? A lot, yeah? And did gold cause fiat crisis? No. If we define bitcoin's price into USD or fiat, then how will we have fiat crisis? There won't be a similar moment.
If fiat will be defined in bitcoin and bitcoin's value will skyrocket, i.e. one snickers will cost 0.00001btc instead of $1, then maybe we will have the fiat crisis.
1308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blackjack card counting at live table games? on: December 03, 2020, 08:39:14 PM
Has anyone tried to come up with a program that counts cards at Evolution or other live gaming providers' tables?

Whilst I understand that they generally use a crapload of decks (8 for most games, I think) and have insanely bad deck penetration, isn't it theoretically feasible to still take advantage of certain variations in the count if you monitored enough tables with an automated program?

Surely Evolution has some sort of safeguard against this that I'm missing?  Huh
Haha, I work in evolution gaming on high position. Well, a lot of people had a question similar to your on this forum, so I don't plan to talk everything in more details, it's not even necessary. First of all, what I would say is that everything happens the way as you look it, i.e. 100% clean.
Shufflers shuffle the cards in live. When they have new shufflers, it happens that these shufflers shuffle cards with very low shuffle quality, i.e. cards are repeated, you'll notice the novice shuffler, they shuffle for eight minutes. Also, these new shuffles sometimes put the cutting card very backwards, similarly of baccarat. You should use such moments if you want to succeed in card counting when it comes to live casinos.

Yeah, as you see some people suggested me to offer crypto payments in gaming lounge and to place bitcoin ATM. In reality, this will be a waste of time and resources, no one will ever use any of them. My friend has a cafe in a very prestigious place and no one was using bitcoin ATM. People were looking at it like museum exhibitions.

But I think crypto payments on the website will be a cool idea, I believe people will use it. You know, the audience that visits gaming lounges and the audience that prefers to use online services differ in the area where I plan to launch this project.

Thank you, I'll definitely check it.

I was thinking about something like this: To create something similar to a casino where people will be able to state their bet and find opponents that will have a wish to play with them. For example, I bet $5 and you follow me = $10. We play PES 2020 p2p, against each other and winner takes $9 ($1 goes to the service provider, i.e. us).
Idk if that is even possible, haven't discussed it, was just thinking Smiley

Btw I would say that adults like you (Let's imagine 30+) play games very often but most likely they visit gaming lounges with their friends.
1310  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a good time to invest? on: December 03, 2020, 07:27:58 PM
We can't predict whether bitcoin will be profitable for short-term investment or not. It can be... There was a moment in past when bitcoin went from 10k to 14k in just one-two days but once it reached 20K, then the price started declining and become as low as 3-4K. If you bought at that moment, bitcoin wouldn't be considered as a short-term profitable asset but on long-term, without a doubt - yes. Just see the history of bitcoin's price, it would be one of the best long-term investment that could be done recently.

To my mind, it's a good time right now to buy bitcoin. I think that it's a bull run that will continue for upcoming months, especially if we consider the fact that PayPal will fully implement crypto services in 2021 and VISA is also very interested in it.
1311  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: December 03, 2020, 06:12:48 PM
Finally found the topic needed Smiley

Hey! Maybe someone from the Bustabit devs will read and check whether the new game is a bustabit clon or is it still another project, maybe with elements of this game?
Then there should be no complaints about this new topic with this game.  But so far all Communities have unanimously accused the OP of plagiarism.  And they cite Bustabit as a copy to copy.
At the moment it seems like this website is really a bad clone of bustabit (from design and look alone). Also, if you just check some threads and their offers, it's obvious that they are scammers. I hugely doubt scam company would buy script from bustabit and even if they bought it, then they would change the design and modify it.
Not only that but I have asked such question to RHavar because I have seen a lot of casinos, local ones that use their code and I don't like that fact. Btw I'll quote you my question and his answer:

As far as I know if someone wants to offer bustabit like game on their casino, they have to acquire license from you guys, am I correct?

People only need a license if they use bustabit's actual code. Bustabit made the old version opensource under a restrictive license that requires you to keep any changes you make also open source, and had an option to buy a license that allowed you to make changes without needing to make them also opensource. Many people however just use code and don't abide by the license, or use the actual bustabit code but try pretend they're not.

It was maybe a mistake, but bustabit never tried to control the game-concept (i.e. there's no patents or anything like that), just a copyright on the actual code that bustabit uses. Think something like lord-of-the-rings. If you want to write a book about elves and orcs and shit you don't need permission/license from Tolkien's estate. But if you want to actually use his words, you do.
1312  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoForum.org on: December 03, 2020, 04:42:09 PM
Okay, when you want to start a business, you need a good domain name. Cryptoforum.org is really a good domain .com would be a better choice but since bitcointalk has an .org domain, it's logical.
Well, we have a good domain, then what? Usually, website owners work on SEO to improve their ranking in search engines but in your case, this alone won't have a huge impact because you need to build a community. It's very hard to build community, what you do is like following: Imagine you want to build search engine and you need to get google's team on your side in order to succeed. You can't pick bitcointalk members, this is an established community that is almost impossible to beat, even satoshi was the member of this forum. You can't build a better one, sorry but that's true. Better to prioritize your resources and energy on another projects with a real aim.
1313  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption: Universities now Accepting Bitcoin for Tuition Payment? on: December 03, 2020, 03:48:08 PM
Perhaps there’s not that much of a big deal in the acceptance itself, which may not apply to all courses and grades (at least the University of Cumbria stated that they were running this as an experiment on a set of two courses – see https://99bitcoins.com/university-cumbria-uk-bitcoin/), as to the awareness that it could creates amongst university students, teachers and collaborators.

Nevertheless, I’ve tried to take a look into a couple of them, to see it the payment method is still accepted, global or delimited in scope, and the placement of this information on their information sites, but have come out empty handed …
Just checked and they state following:
Quote
Despite the open support to cryptocurrency, the university is<strong> warning future students against buying Bitcoin just to pay for the tuition</strong> due to the high volatility risk. The institution believes that students should only pay in cryptocurrency if they already own it.

From University of Cumbria is UK's first to step into the Bitcoin world
https://99bitcoins.com/university-cumbria-uk-bitcoin/
So it seems that they accept bitcoin but at the same time are against it's adoption. It's still good that they accept bitcoin but the proposal that comes after that seems like it's a bad coin and users should only use if they accidentally bought it. Personally, I think that while adopting bitcoin or accepting bitcoin payments, universities should add Bitcoin and Blockchain technologies as a subject for those who study finances and informational technologies. But university that accepts it but warns students against it, seems very illogical for me and such university will never include a quality syllabus for this subject.
1314  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie with avatar? on: December 02, 2020, 11:55:51 PM
I have a question too. It's understandable that there was a time when newbies were able to use avatar function on this website but once it got permitted, then why wasn't it possible to just disable this option for everyone, for users registered before this rule. Is this something specific for simple machines forum CMS?

Btw if LoyceV is true and this account hasn't been hacked (the fact that he still posts in Spanish strengthens this fact), then it's very amazing to see so old members on this forum, those who were taking the first steps in crypto before we were registered here.

1315  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Make Money While You Sleep? Welcome To The World Of Crypto Trading Ai Bots on: December 02, 2020, 11:37:55 PM
So, according to this thread, if it's possible to make money while you fall asleep and have a good night sleep of 8 hours, then what about another 16 hours when we are awake? If I make a profit at night with the help of AI, then I would make a double profit at daytime.
Okay, trade with AI. The most interesting thing for me will be to look at versus of two AI. These people talk like no one loses in trading but in reality you profit because I lose and opposite. It's not only math behind trading, otherwise, it would be the easiest thing.
1316  Economy / Economics / Re: Visa is getting more interested in Crypto on: December 02, 2020, 11:03:09 PM
That's very logica. Giant payment service provider, PayPal decided to fully adopt crypto services for 2021, that includes trading and even owning of bitcoin wallet on PayPal. If you want to be in the game, you have to be innovative or at least follow the innovation. In this case visa has to follow Paypal because they took steps in cryptocurrencies and leaving PP alone is very unprofitable for visa. PP, Visa, Mastercard and I think other payment service providers like Unionpay will follow these steps. Massive adoption has begun, it's interesting to see what steps will be taken from Amazon or from Google Pay because PP accepted it and pp crypto automatically means crypto adoption on eBay.
1317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In my school, Bitcoin is now becoming a subject on: December 02, 2020, 10:05:50 PM
I don't know if we're the same but in this school year (2020-2021) Bitcoin is now being introduced to our school, although it may not be introduced to other courses, since I am currently taking Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) hence, we are to take Bitcoin and the history of BTC. It's actually great that schools are putting Bitcoin to their curriculum, with that, I got to share my experience with Bitcoin, I got the chance to share my knowledge about the history of Bitcoin and how much I benefited from this.

I also decided to post it here because I think this is a big leap towards the future, from people doubting about Bitcoin and now, people are heavily relying on it, being informed, buying bitcoins, learning the ways on how to exactly earn bitcoins.
I can't understand, where do you study? At school or at University? Because if you are taking Bachelor of Science, then logically you should be in university. If that's right, then it's very logical and necessary to add not only bitcoin but blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies as an additional subject. Not only on Science but personally I think that without doubt, everyone interested in finances and economics should know this! And at schools, I don't think there is any necessity to know things about bitcoin cause there users may see a lot of bad news around it, including it's usage in dark webs and in illegal things.
1318  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Should I use mixers? on: December 02, 2020, 09:16:04 PM
So basically you are going:

Exchange -> Address A -> Address B -> Mixer -> Address C

It's difficult for anyone to say for sure, but as I said in my above comment, if an exchange will block your account if you mix your coins immediately after withdrawal, then I can't imagine that a single extra hop is going to make any difference to that, especially if you are moving all the coins in one without any change.
Apologize for confusing example.
What I want to say is following: Let's imagine I have dynamic addresses (all of them). Received money from an exchange to wallet A, then sent from wallet A to wallet B, from wallet b - to mixer. From mixer I sent it to my main wallet but what I do is that I split chips and sometimes send 0.3 btc, sometimes 0.7 btc. I collect bitcoins and send different stakes in order to get rid of any suspicion.
I received money on A and sent to B. I'll claim that wallet A is my primary address and I have an unpaid loan of a person that uses wallet B and it's not my job what he does with walelt B.

Also, another reason why that rule is dumb is that what if I want to send btc to my friend and he sends me mixer address? Is it my fault? How should I know whether address belongs mixer or not? Dumb rule!

Anti-money laundering politics is the worst politics ever, worse by the logic behind it. Rich people launder without any resistance Cheesy It's very hilarious, it's a joke.
1319  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos Withdrawal Fees Rise (!?)|| November 2020 on: December 02, 2020, 08:53:42 PM
As I see this thread was created in August. To be fair I don't remember how high were transaction fees back in August. Even if it was high, pre and post quarantine periods were the greatest for casinos, their profit was very high, so it should balance this out but right now, I can't say anything because in some countries there are significantly increased fees on casinos and even some countries seriously take care of antigambling companies that includes prohibiting of casino advertisements in TVs, billboards, etc. That's bad for casinos and their marketing.
I think casinos should let us to set custom fees on transactions! This will be the right deal for everyone right now.
1320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accidentally sent too much bitcoins.Company wont refund rest. What are my rights? on: December 02, 2020, 08:23:42 PM
This company is a scam. Yeah, there was a mistake from your side but if they want to keep loyal customers and if they respect them, then they should fix this mistake and give you your money. Company has to trust it's users. What this company does is the opposite and just tells you that it's against their ToS. First of all I want to say that such ToS looks scammy and there is no logic in it. Better to spread the message and tell everyone that this company is bad, open the scam accusation thread here. If they want to destroy their reputation for some bucks, then it's their choice, you can't undo that.
