Und die BU nodes wurde innerhalb weniger stunden ALLE geupdated und sind jetzt wieder auf >800. Aber sixher doch  D.h. doch die Nodes werden praktisch nur von wenigen Leuten betrieben. also ich betreibe 2   lieber molecular, wie machen wir das mit der 3000€ party? addieren wir die chains? zählt BTU auch? ich finde wir sollten unseren deal auf jedenfall nicht kaputt forken lassen. vielleicht werde ich im falle eines alleinigen BTU erfolges dann nicht ganz so wild feiern, weil ich keine BTU halten werde. aber mich beleidigt in die ecke stellen werd ich mich auch nicht. glaubst du es kommt ein split? was machst du mit deinen coins? (das katzenmeme ist ausdrücklich lustig und nicht böse gemeint.) |

Wenn du sie beispielsweise auf nem Exchange liegen hast, und der Betreiber sich denkt: "Ich bleibe offiziell bei Core und die gesplitten BU behalte ich für mich" dann bekommst du nur einen der beiden Coins. So wie ich das verstanden habe, macht man sicherheitshalber erst mal gar nichts (edit: ausser natürlich die Coins auf ner eigenen wallet lagern, sofern dies nicht bereits der Fall ist), bis man alles verstanden hat. Falls ich das falsch verstanden habe, bitte korrigieren.
Das wäre doch eindeutiger Diebstahl der Exchange? Das wäre in diesem Umfeld aber nichts neues. bitstamp hat mir versichert, sie würden nach einem BU fork withdrawals auf beiden chains erlauben. edit: momentan denke ich, dass ich im falle einer fork sowieso alles verkaufen würde. ist nur vom timing her schwierig. am besten vorher? ich vermute, der kurs wird bei beiden chains abschmieren. werden die dann zusammen genauso viel wert sein wie vorher die eine chain? und wo verkauft man dann eigentlich die BU coins? da müsste man sich jetzt accounts an alles möglichen börsen machen. als ob crypto nicht schon komplex genug wäre. bitcoin zerlegt sich selbst. da werden die herren banker die ganzen crypto-ludditen sich aber die hände reiben. super. |

BU is the caboose on the shitcoin train ... so you're right at home I guess. Ironically, if the BTU folk do truly care about the users as the claim that they do, they'd add SWSF and 'emergent consensus' on top of that. This adds a short term capacity increase and plenty of benefits, and they get to keep their 'HF is best' nonsense. In reality, they don't care about the users. where do u guys trade DASH and ETH?
Poloniex. This is similar to the debate 'vaccines cause autism'. One side has actual data to support their claim that it doesn't, the other has pseudo-science and 1 false research which claims otherwise. you are right, but the anti-vaccine side has the power to blow it all up. i think it would be better to reach out and find a compromise. another multiyear downtrend now would be a killer. incredible irony that this showdown seems to take place in a moment of highest prices in bitcoin history. in a moment of grand success. we got there all together. we should stay together. |

- Only about 1 hour later, Peter Todd sees that BU devs found this bug. (Peter Todd did not find this bug himself).
- Peter Todd posts this
exploit vulnerability on twitter, and all BU nodes immediately get attacked. - r/bitcoin moderators, in coordination, then ban all mentions of the hotfix which was available almost right away.
- r/bitcoin then relentlessly slanders BU, using the bug found by the BU devs, as proof that they are incompetent. Only mentions of how bad BU is are allowed to remain.
Die BU-Nodes sind Teil des Bitcoin-Netzwerks und stellen momentan keine Gefahr dar, sondern unterstützen das Netzwerk so wie jede Core Node auch. But she did also submit the vulnerabilities to Mitre’s Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) database. This ensures that Mitre discloses the bugs in one month from now, which pressures the developers to actually fix the problem in time.
However, even following this responsible disclosure, Gardner thought there was a risk that the vulnerabilities would be abused as soon as they were fixed in the Bitcoin Unlimited code repository. After all, at that point the problem isn’t really solved: anyone running the released Bitcoin Unlimited software is still vulnerable until they download and run the new, revised version. This opens a window for attackers.
“The problem is, the bugs are so glaringly obvious that when fixing it, it will be easy to notice for anyone watching their development process,” she said.
It now appears that is exactly what has happened. While the Bitcoin Unlimited developers did indeed fix the issue shortly after it was pointed out to them, they did so with far too conspicuous a GitHub commit message, Gardner told Bitcoin Magazine once it appeared the bugs seemed fixed and before the attacks began.
“Their commit message does ring alarm bells. I’m not sure if anyone will notice, but they probably should have obfuscated the message a bit more. The wording might attract closer scrutiny. But if it went unnoticed for this long, maybe it will go unnoticed.”
Clearly, it did not.
As Gardner warned, it didn’t take long for attackers to exploit one of the vulnerabilities: the first attacks happened shortly after the bugs were fixed. viele neue sehen, dass der kurs über 1000 € ist und das sieht teuer aus. einige gehen dann lieber in alts, weil die noch billig aussehen. ist natürlich bekloppt, aber psychologie ist ja nicht rational. es wäre wichtig, das wir es endlich hinbekämen in mBTC zu denken, und nur noch damit rechnen: 1/1000 btc. die sind nämlich auch billig. man kann einen schon für 1.17 € kaufen. oder $1.25, siehe bitcoinity.org  |

ich denke andreas hat, wie so oft, völlig recht. meiner meinung nach hat das BU konzept auf allergefährlichste und allerpeinlichste art versagt. und das aus einer ecke, die soooooo laut schreit, sie wären besser, wichtiger, die einzig wahren. wäre BU bereits, wie angedroht, geforkt und "der alleinige" bitcoin, dann wären wir gestern untergegangen. dann wäre das spiel möglicherweise aus gewesen. da sagt mir der konservative und vorsichtige weg, den CORE geht, wesentlich mehr zu und das ist jetzt wirklich milde ausgedrückt. ich würde meine BU coins sofort verkaufen. das wäre mir zu riskant. ausgerechnet den minern solche macht zu geben und mit einem dev team, das solche sachen passieren lässt und mit einem "präsidenten". dass es so weit gekommen ist, liegt aber auch an core. die 2 mb hätten schneller kommen müssen. jetzt sind sie allerdings in greifbarer nähe (segwit) - aber das wollen einige grosse miner nicht und blockieren. was für ein kindergarten. was mich verwirrt ist, das zum thema kompetentere menschen als ich (wie molecular) den BU weg gehen. es muss also was dran sein. aber sehen/erkennen kann ich das nicht. mir ist klar, dass nur weil ich es nicht sehe, es nicht trotzdem valide gründe geben muss, warum BU überhaupt supporter hat. problematischerweise gibt es natürlich echte "bad actors" - feinde des bitcoin - und die nutzen den riss natürlich aus, der hier am entstehen ist und giessen öl ins feuer - auf beiden seiten. was ich daran lernen kann, ist, dass sich wichtige, große communities spalten können und keiner ist wirklich "böse" oder hat schlechte absichten. alle wollen, dass historisch grosse ideen wie bitcoin (oder das christentum, oder der kommunismus, oder der feminismus oder die sozialdemokratie etc) funktioniert. trotzdem spalten sich die die gruppen bis zu einem punkt, wo sie sich anfeinden. hier sehen wir in echtzeit, wie so eine spaltung vor sich geht. entweder es wird ein kompromiss gefunden - hoffentlich! Indeed - if we hit it, it would be an unbroken string since 2017 Feb 23. dorian-not-bad.gif this thread is probably the most important one in the speculation sub-forum at this moment. despite the overall somewhat pessimistic sentiment dooglus' list proofs that bitcoin price is showing strength that i have never seen before (= since march 2013) in combination with a look at the charts (weekly!) the current uptrend looks very good. keep in mind that the chinese exchanges are still frozen and the ETF was rejected - and yet dooglus' list is bullish. the fact that doom-bears are flooding the forums and the timing of the BU fork threat should tell us something. the altcoin pumpers and other enemies of bitcoin are getting desperate. the only real danger is that bitcoin is topping right now, and that we are entering another multiyear downtrend. not completely impossible but not very probable. has bitcoin ever entered a longer downtrend without spiking insanely before? i don't see any insane spike. accelerating? yes. doubling within a few days or something like that? no. i think the heavy altcoin investors, the too-early-sellers and the general enemies of bitcoin concluded that now is a key point to attack. that is why we see all this doom talk. to me this is even more bullish. 2013 will be wiped from the list by tomorrow. that is even better news than an all-time high spike. sry für x-post und sry für english. ich bin guter dinge. |
