2141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: January 26, 2017, 05:07:55 PM
If you are just going to look for some ways of giving up gambling then you can just say that it is a very easy for a person who is willing to completely forget about gambling. Just manage to control your emotion and temptation in gambling. If you are able to control that temptation and win against it, you will just feel suddenly very lazy in gambling.

Actually quitting is easy if you can divert your attention to something productive... It's all up to the person, if a gambler always says that he wants to quit and yet he is not starting, then guess what, he is just making it more and more difficult to get out... If you care about your self and if you are thinking about your future, and future family, well, I think that's a good enough motivation to stop along with the diversion like day job...  Smiley

Yes, finding something which is more interesting to do or more productive or both is of course a good way to quit gambling. If a person makes in gambling $10 per hour in the best case scenario and if he would be offered a job where he can make $20 per hour would he refuse the job offer and continue gambling? I don't think so.
2142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Easiest way to convert money into BTC? on: January 26, 2017, 04:42:56 PM
Easiest way i can think of to transfer fiat to bitcoin is if you know a friend who already has some and offer to buy some off him, if his a good friend he would probably do the deal for close to market rate.

About the only other options you have are places like localbitcoins and exchages.

I also think that a friend who wants to buy Bitcoin is the best option. Fortunately I know one guy who purchased from me already couple of times. And he's glad about the deal since BTC rised since then. Of course I know it's much trickier to find a person who would buy bigger amounts, mine were around $20 worth of Bitcoin.
2143  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: January 26, 2017, 04:18:47 PM
I think despite the fact that gold is the past and Bitcoin is future, gold is still a good investment. It might lose some value in the future but it will definitely not lose a lot. But I think BTC is a better investment because it has much more potential to rise in the future than gold has.
2144  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-25]Bitcoin trading in yuan drops as new transaction fees by exchanges on: January 26, 2017, 04:03:44 PM
I think that was a normal reaction to new transaction fees and probably for some time it will still have its effect. But in a week or two I'm sure Bitcoin trading volume in yuan will go back to 90%.

I like the optimistic note in the article that good side to this is that such stability due to less volatility and less speculation may lure new users into buying Bitcoin.
2145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: January 26, 2017, 03:22:50 PM
Because people are greedy and wanna make huge money, therefore they are greedy and can't stop, until they lose all of the money, or make enough money.

That's true, we all become greedy in a way when we gamble and the only solution is to restrain your greed in the right moment. Either you want to win more or you just want to recover your losses you have to stop at some point in order to not lose everything.
2146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Monero was almost Free on: January 26, 2017, 03:07:03 PM
Quote from: Moneroman88
Monero at $0.24,  are you folks insane?  Almost free.

This is the chance of a lifetime to become wealthy.  Anyone who isn't buying these up... thank me later for my suggestion.

There is a bright, bright future for Monero.

No need for all the private messages thanking me.

Actually, it really was common sense at the time.

Enjoy!   Every dollar invested multiplied by 50, nice!

Cool

Yeah, that's crazy. Have you bought some yourself? Because you were right in your prediction and I hope you've made some profit. I think even now XMR has a good potential since in the beginning of January it showed that it can be sold for 0.016 BTC.
2147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Epic Gambling Story. on: January 25, 2017, 02:20:44 PM
I had lost almost all of my last .013 of my .03 that I worked a week to earn.. I had .003 left.

I placed a last ditch parlay. https://nitrogensports.eu/betslip/238e7d9cm1VVUJFcDRNbVFseWRiVVBvT2YzUT09/r/1505052/

Wawrinka gave me a heart attack and pulled off an improbable victory and I hit it. I am a csgo betting god and am up to .045 now.

From 3 USD to 50 USD.

Do not lose heart guys! That last bit can make the big difference!

Congrats on you win, but keep in mind that if you will continue to gamble with your hard earned money you most likely will be disapointed eventually. That's how gambling works: you win at first and if you keep winning you are happy, but then one day you lose it all, everything you have won plus some of your savings, if not all of them. Be careful.
2148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price drops as PBOC continues inspections on: January 25, 2017, 02:08:08 PM
It seems that a second round of Bitcoin price crash just started after PBOC said that they will continue inspection of Chinese Bitcoin exchanges.

.....cryptocoinsnews.....

this is not news, cryptocoinsnews is once again creating clickbaits articles to generate traffic and also help the FUD dump happen.
the PBOC has been inspecting Chinese bitcoin exchanges for a while and they never stopped or were planning on stopping it.
and this so called drop started from yesterday but it was silent and slow selling of whales (you can check the charts and the volume), now it is shakeout time for the whales to buy back in again at lower prices.

I hope you are right and the price will go up soon. That's how they make money: sell a lot to lower the price and then buy at the low price, and when you are buying a lot the price goes up again. Thus you increase amount of coins you have while the price stays the same.
2149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many money did you spent in gambling in a day? on: January 25, 2017, 12:27:24 PM
Generally it's not more than 100-150k Satoshis per week. Although I can afford losing that kind of money it still hurts especially when you lose it in 5 seconds. I'm trying to apply the rule: if my negative profit from gambling is over 150k sats I stop gambling for the week. Actually it works good for me. Hope I won't become a gambling addict. Smiley
2150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: January 25, 2017, 12:11:57 PM
NLG has risen 20% on Yobit in the last 24 hours. Looks like the developers don't want to give up easy and continue pumping the coin from time to time. Probably it's possible to earn some money during the pump but not much anyway, the trade volume on yobit for example 0.01 BTC in the last 24 hours.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1577392.msg17273868#msg17273868  developers have nothing to do with yobit, go peddle your crap somewhere else
Please, forgive me for being so incompetent, I am new to this thing. I thought Yobit was the biggest trading platform for altcoins in the world. Smiley And since NLG is listed there I thought the developers have something to do with it.
Btw can someone tell me is the list on the site below correct?
https://www.cryptocoincharts.info/markets/info

Yes it is probably right, here is another one https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/all/
But when you are so incompetent (your own words Grin) it is not wise to fool around in Bitcointalk. It is one big Troll cave. Please come to https://gulden.com/ and register you for the slack community, and learn from the big Gulden community. More then 2000 members will teach you everything.

Thank you very much for your reply! I'll do my best to learn more on the subject, because altcoins and their potential is what I'm very interested in. Fortunately there are good sources of information on the Internet. At least now I know that Gulden is not another shitcoin, many educated people trust it and that's why its Market Cap is $7,462,269.
2151  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice, so much for provably fair !! on: January 24, 2017, 07:18:57 PM
Look like I said before, you aren't getting scammed on Primedice, if you lose money its simply because of bad luck.

The way provably fair works is that EACH AND EVERY bet in a session the admin always know if you will win or lose (if you don't change your OVER/UNDER or your win odds AND your seed).

However you only know if you got cheated AFTER the session but you can request the unhashed seed, add it to your clients seed and look at the noonce values for all your bets.

They will all be there and they will be correct, you aren't getting cheated.

I agree. Just today I lost over 100k sats on PD because I had 13 reds in a row on 2x, but I'm not complaining, I know it happens. I heard people were having up to 20 reds in row on 2x, just a bad luck. But the oppsite happens too. I had 14 greens a row on 2x once.
2152  Economy / Economics / Re: Spending Bitcoins on: January 24, 2017, 04:48:17 PM
Since my country has banned bitcoin so i cant use bitcoin everywhere.Shops and markets are not accepting bitcoin for the banned. So,now i can just recharge my mobile with bitcoin. And its very good for me because i can recharge my mobile anywhere anytime. And the rest of bitcoin i am storing to my cold storage.I also bought some digital goods, clothes on online before.

What country are you from? As far as I know Bitcoin is not fully banned in any country. The fact that shops and markets are not accepting Bitcoin where you live doesn't mean it is banned. People are hesitant to use Bitcoin for other reasons.
2153  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-24]Bitcoin Featured on China’s “Most Influential” TV Show on: January 24, 2017, 04:31:07 PM
I'm wondering whether Larry Lang is really China’s Most Famous Economist? Refusing to take 100 BTC for free wasn't a wise decision. I think he might be that popular due to his frequent TV appearances and not because he is really a good economist.
2154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: January 24, 2017, 04:00:59 PM
I have changed my views regarding this question in the last years/months. In the past, I was convinced that Bitcoin on the long term would be replaced by a Proof of Stake cryptocurrency.

Now, for me it's not so clear anymore. PoW has definitively higher costs for blockchain maintenance than alternative algorithms, but academic research in the past years is indicating its also probably stronger in terms of security. And I am getting more optimistic that renewable energies are enabling a environmental-friendly mining business (in the future, I think, most miners will reside in "high-energy spots" like Iceland, the Sahara, Patagonia or the Andes where solar, geothermal or wind energy abound).

So it's possible for BTC to stay as the market leader for many decades. However, I think in the future we will have more strong blockchains around.

Thanks for posting this information! I was believing in Bitcoin before, but it was actually ungrounded, I just wanted to think Bitcoin is the best without knowing much about alternative algorithms. Now it's nice for me to see that Bitcoin is really the best among all the cryptos.
2155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know when to stop? on: January 24, 2017, 03:42:27 PM
I stop when I have something else to do or when my balance is zero. I have a rule to never deposit again in the same day, if I lost that's it, no "recovering". It's when people are trying to recover they lose the most.

2157  Economy / Gambling / Re: Favorite (Unique) BitCoin Games? on: January 23, 2017, 06:22:03 PM
I think minesweeper games are fun. You can think about how to make them more good looking and somehow different than on other sites but in general they are all okay. What is good in them also is that they are not too heavy for any computer, and don't forget that many people still have old computers on which you can't play most of the new online games.
2158  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we make more money? on: January 23, 2017, 06:09:54 PM
What are the things to do to succeed in trade? What are you doing to make your business bigger?
How can we make more money?

I have only one answer to all these questions. To make more money we have to learn more and then work hard. All other schemes don't work in the long run, in fact they are illusions mostly and you are happy with them only untill they vanish.
2159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great way to make Bitcoin! on: January 23, 2017, 06:01:10 PM
If someone give me only two options invest my money in hyip website or put my money in mining, i am sure i am will choose put my money in mining bitcoin. Although mining also have a risk but better i choose it rather than hyip. I think hyip is not good to do. Many peoples was scammed in hyip and loss a lot of money.
Risk exists everywhere, difficulty mining growing. Requires more powerful equipment and more electricity costs and the price of Bitcoin can always go down to the level of unprofitability, it is as lucky.

Theoretically you are right but in practice the price of Bitcoin is rising continuously so the mining is always profitable especially if you are operating a big farm. It's only unprofitable for people living in places where electricity prices are high.
2160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: have you guys tried gambling in a game.. what game is it? how was it? on: January 23, 2017, 05:43:49 PM
I've tried different online games and from my experience you can not earn money with gambling. But if you want to do it for fun then I propose dice game which is simple and with immediate results. You are not waiting for the result long time like in sports betting or hours like in poker, you have the result right away, that's why I like dice.
