I am investigating whether water cooling would be cost effective.  I will have access to well water in the space, and could run several heat exchangers.....seems very efficient relative to AC.

My only concerns are my lack of experience with waterblocks, and the high capital costs.
Unless you have a very clean well, you might gunk up the heat exchangers. I guess I hadn't ever thought of using anything except for a closed-loop recirculated system.
I would recirculate standard coolant throught a submersive heat exchanger in a closed circuit. Problem is the water in the well will heat.  Constant fresh water as to be flowing.

This solution might not be cost effective in the short term. It also negatively impact ecosystem.

Pour ma part, je fais la promotion du mining chez mes amis investisseurs au Québec. J'ai commencé un projet et on verra où cela nous menera!

Producing electronic like the computer we use or FPGA is not green. But once produced FPGA is greener than GPU.

Funny, Spanish is similar to Italian, as well as French and Portuguese... So if you learn one of those Romance languages you have access to pretty much hotties from latin america, spain, italy, and france

Since Spanish, ergo Italian, Prtuguese and now French, can easily be learned via Rosetta Stone, your choices have been greatly narrowed to either German or Chinese. Since you're attending college, you need to make your decision based on the following two images.

Also, the language will make literally make your ears bleed: it is very guttural and anything
but delicate. Wait till the hotties in the picture above start to actually open their mouth to say
something and you will run away scared.

My totally unbiased opinion, of course  Grin

My father is german and my mother speak french. I speak only ~50 german words but a hottie that speak german arouse me.

Mais la même chose se produit à peu prêt dans n'importe quel autre language! / But same things happen in virtually any language!

Bitcointalk is my first forum where I have to write in english. I see myself improving way faster than by only reading it. Smiley

I dont want to use monitor. With Linux do I need one DVI dummy plug for the whole rig or one for each card?

You should think about impact on your jobs if you get caught versus profit from mining.

Je suis du côté chaud de l'océan, mais je serais quand même curieux de savoir le prix du courant au Québec Wink

- Reste de l'énergie consommée 7,51 ¢/kWh

Deleted my typo post while you responded. I will take saving from the CPU and buy the XFX 1250W PRO1250W Black Edition Single Rail ATX 12V 104A 24PIN ATX Full Modular 80PLUS Gold PSU  for 235$
2194  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What do you thing about my first rig setup? on: March 24, 2012, 04:34:03 PM
If this is a dedicated mining rig I would drop it to a Sempron single core.  More cores just mean more wasted wattage.

Thank's that's where I wasn't sure because NCIX don't offer AMD Sempron. I found some for half the price of the AMD Athlon II. Thank's!

I don't really care about power consumption for my first rig. Then with more experience, I will learn to build more efficient unit. Still, I will follow your advice and look for a better PSU. I also need to heat my home about 6-7 month a year so no waste here... I live in the mountains.

Ok here is my updated shopping list:

- Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 AMD970 ATX AM3+ DDR3 2PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 2PCI SATA3 USB3.0 CrossFireX Motherboard http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=62402&promoid=1360
- AMD Athlon II X3 450 Triple Core Processor AM3 3.2GHZ 1.5MB L2 Cache 95W Retail Box http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=55074
- Kingston ValueRAM 4GB PC3-8500 DDR3-1066 DDR3 CL7 NON-ECC Memory Module http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=60305
- Kingston DataTraveler 102 4GB High Speed Flash Drive Neon Green USB2.0 *IR-$3* http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=45593
- 3X PCIE X4 to X16 extender
- 2X PCIE X16 extender

~400$ CAN before NCIX pricematch.

I found some used 5830, 5850 and better in my area. I will used 5 GPU and  chose a 1200W PSU. Later I will measure power consumption measure myself so I can adjust for future build. As a bonus I found the 4th core of the AMD CPU can be unlocked.

Should I take PCIE extender with Molex or the standard one are good?
Do you think with this list I covered everything I need to start mining?

If your host is compromised a virtual machine is not that good. A live USB linux distros that you boot only to use your wallet would do better.
