No one will sell you a money making machine at an affordable price. Your only choice is to wait for Avalon batch #3 to open or pre-order a BFL unit and pray the Bitcoin god.

Sorry.

PS: I have an early Avalon batch #2 order but I want 300BTC for it.
1465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Weird question: Can you send bitcoins to somebody with a HAM radio? on: March 17, 2013, 01:36:42 PM
Quote
1200 bps AFSK node controllers on 2 meters (144-148MHz) are the most commonly found packet radio. For 1200/2400 bps UHF/VHF packet radio, amateurs use commonly available narrow band FM voice radios. For HF packet, 300 bps data is used over single side band (SSB) modulation. For high speed packet (9600 bps upwards), special radios or modified FM radios must be used.

Custom modems have been developed which allow throughput rates of 19.2 kbit/s, 56 kbit/s, and even 1.2 Mbit/s over amateur radio links on FCC permitted frequencies of 440 MHz and above. However, special radio equipment is needed to carry data at these speeds.

You can mine any coin that use double SHA-256 for hashing.

No, I did not read your story but I find it magnificent.

I wonder if the BFL picture I posted is being used on eBay now.

When the service was first announced I made 1 bet and won.

Never played again so I can tell that I'm a winner on SD.

This is my worst experience.  Grin
1472  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Remotely uploading and executing Bash scripts (BAMT) on: March 16, 2013, 01:56:22 PM
To transfer a file via SSH use scp.

http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/lucid/man1/scp.1.html

If you want to transfer file "test1.txt" in home folder of user1 at computer1(you can put IP address here) to current folder type:

Code:
$ scp user1@computer1:~/test1.txt .

Notice the dot at the end. It means you want to copy the file in the same folder you are actually doing the command. You can also use a path like ~/folder/AnotherFileName.txt instead.

1475  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: xubuntu 12.04 wants to update fglrx-* packages - safe? on: March 15, 2013, 11:18:55 PM
Last time my fglrx broke, I could not do anything without remounting the filesystem as writeable.
1476  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: xubuntu 12.04 wants to update fglrx-* packages - safe? on: March 15, 2013, 11:01:39 PM
Ok, I got those error messages because I ran the command inside the folder with the fglrx*.deb files...
So, after removing all fglrx* packages from the system I ran:

Code:
sudo ./amd-driver-installer-catalyst-12.10-x86.x86_64.run  --buildpkg
sudo dpkg -i fglrx*.deb

It looks like it worked...

Code:
micha@atlas:~/catalyst$ sudo dpkg -i fglrx*.deb

ldconfig deferred processing now taking place

But the system now doesn't boot anymore. And as I currently have no physical access to it - it will stay offline for some time.

Please don't tell other people it's safe to upgrade fglrx in the future Smiley

If you get a blank screen when booting then fglrx is broken.

You will need to log into the recovery console. Then remount your filesystem as writable.

Code:
sudo mount -o remount,rw 'PATH TO YOUR FILESYSTEM'

Then remove fglrx.

Code:
sudo sh /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh
sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_* fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev*

You should now get a login screen after rebooting and then you can reinstall fglrx.

Hope this help.

EDIT: Just saw that you're trying to access your box remotely. I'm not sure if fglrx can break SSH (I guess the box is freezing when fglrx try to load). If you don't get a login screen then previous post can still help.
1477  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin, lost nearly all of initial investment on SatoshiDice :( on: March 15, 2013, 09:56:49 PM
I hope you enjoyed the lesson before you get access to higher loans. $900 is nothing in a lifetime. Some peoples lose their house, car, wife, etc. Maybe next time try to keep your bitcoins on another wallet like Electrum if you can't control yourself.
