Bitcoin will bailout Cyprus if they drop the Euro.  Grin
1442  Economy / Speculation / Re: The "Vladimir Club" on: March 22, 2013, 11:30:55 AM
How many do you think are eligible for the club today? I would think it is far less than 5000 individuals, maybe closer to 500.. Undecided

surely can't be more than 10000.

Another guesstimation I just did puts the upper bound at ~611 members conservatively: satoshi: 1 million, 2 guys 500k, 4 guys: 250k, 8 guys: 125k and so on.

I'm guessing it's around 300 people in that club max. Tendency: decreasing.

I find myself secretly hoping that the Bitcoin wealth is very concentrated so that there are not many people with more coins than me

Strange thought. So what if there is only 1000, 500 or 100 richer than you - - What kind of thoughts does this bring into you?

Very sad. First is the way to go. Cheesy

1445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Casascius bitcoins and eBay on: March 22, 2013, 03:50:42 AM
I see these selling on ebay for WAYY more then the 1.25 BTC value. I was wondering, are these physical coins subject to scamming the same way that digital bitcoins are? What I'm wondering is if I buy these and try to sell later, will I likely be scammed by chargebacks?

WTF?
He means that when you sell intangible bitcoins you will get chargeback most of the times. It might be safer to sell physical bitcoin but nothing is 100% safe with eBay.
1446  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 22, 2013, 03:11:57 AM
huge sell walls up ahead.  I dont think we will see major movement tonight. Hopefully we will have another morning price jump, but it would have to be a MAJOR buy to get us even back to $75.  Unless the sell walls are fake.

huge sell walls = prelude to price jumps

I kinda wonder where had all the manipulators gone, not sure if I will start a poll

1447  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 22, 2013, 02:16:08 AM
I bought some at $59 yesterday. It did feel weird. Last time was $13.5
1448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pullback from $75? on: March 22, 2013, 12:58:31 AM
I thought that very same thing...

...at $35

+1

Then again at $45

And again at $68

Yeap. Same.

But persistent growth will go on.. as long as they keep printing the fiat money to buy the coins with.

Life is nice.

Looking at BTC chart might be more addictive than cocaine. (I don't know, never tried cocaine).

Not sure if serious or trolling the world...

1452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 21, 2013, 02:15:57 AM
damn you crazy BTC. I give up trying to sell high buy low, all I end up doing is sell high, buy higher.
After extensive calculation and analysis, I designed a new strategy. Now I buy high and hold then buy higher and hold. Works pretty good thus far.

Well played Avalon.

I don't care. US is not the world. Bitcoin is not the US. Government with their centralised nature fail to understand the meaning of decentralised. Good luck regulating Bitcoin like you did with BitTorrent.
1455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 03:03:43 AM
I didn't buy since $13.5. I've made a deposit on cavirtex and now I'm wondering what should I do?  Undecided

1456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 20, 2013, 02:34:03 AM
I found another "bubble".

I've never heard about anyone buying his grocery with gold. What a piece of useless crap...  Cheesy

Bitcoin look like gold on steroid! At least it can buy pizza...  Grin

How loud are these things? Also looks like if you have 20amp circuits you can only have 3 units per circuit  assuming you don't have a ton of other stuff already plugged in! Then maybe just 2. So much power use...
Avalon unit use 620W @ 120V so it draw 5.17amp/unit. It's not recommended to load a circuit over 80% capacity. So 80% of 20amp = 16amp. 3 units @ 5.17amp = 15.51amp. No problem with 3 units.

At 220V and 600W (I don't have the exact spec but the unit should be a little more efficient) it draw 2.73amp/unit so it's possible to connect 5-6 units (13.9-16.38amp) using the same wire gauge.

It might be a good idea for some user to hire an electrician to install a custom circuit.

Disclaimer : I'm not an electrician so double check these numbers with a professional.

If you don't stop you will reach a null balance.
