What we need is a reliable peer-to-peer exchange. The problem is to connect this system to the fiat economy...

it already is.  i've got my connection down to 7h via wire exchanges.  and even if gox gets shutdown, the connection will always be there on the streets via person to person exchange.
Gox is not peer-to-peer. What I'm talking about is a completely online peer-to-peer exchange where you could wire money. Maybe in your area you can find other peoples to do in person exchange but in mine there is none.

In 2005-06 it was common for casino to give +EV bonus.

One exemple with PartyCasino:

- 100% first deposit bonus up to $200
- 5000 bets to unlock
- BlackJack count toward unlocking bonus
- House edge of BlackJack using perfect strategy ~0.5% Source: http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/calculator/

Using $1 bet to minimize variance.

$1 * 5000 hands = $5000 total bets
$5000 * 0.5% = $25 average loss against the house.
$200 deposit bonus less $25 loss = $175

It was common to play several hundred hands per hour on a good casino software. Let's say 250 hands per hour to be conservative. Sometimes I was averaging 400+

5000/250 = 20 hours. $175/20h = $8.75/h profit. Not bad for clicking buttons. Most of the time I was averaging $20/h sometimes up to $50/h.

It's possible to bet higher amount or multiple hands to maximise profit per hour but variance and risk of ruin get higher as well. Dozen of reputed casino (888, Microgaming, Playtech, Betfair, Cryptologic, etc.) where offering deposit bonus between $50-$500 and only once they refused to pay. But I have to agree those bonus are now long gone and the only one still around are a waste of time.

Good luck with your casino anyway maths are on your side  Grin

Look where the DMCA ban on DRM circumvention and BitTorrent technology brought them.
1691  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Hacked - lost it all today... now what!? on: January 23, 2013, 01:22:04 PM
I am really astonished about the level of abuse that some Forum members subject the people that get their accounts hacked for.

Someone posts that their account gets hacked and all of a sudden that person is called a lot of names ranging from stupid to much worse.

Is it not enough that he/she lost their Bitcoins?

I am also surprised that Mt Gox has such a high standing in the community that anyone that does not talk favorably about them get
their threads spammed and again are called names and worse.

Please, think before you post and dont post drunk.

/GoK
Title is misleading. He got hacked not MtGox.

Does bitcoins in older address will be protected or we will need to transfer them into a new wallet?

Your GPU doesn't support OpenCL so you are CPU mining which is a waste of time and electricity.

If the computer is compromised can we presume the PGP certificate with corresponding password can also get stolen? I use Google Authenticator and I think it's better unless my phone + computer get compromised by the same hacker.
