1724  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the ultimate system for Bitcoins reputation? on: January 17, 2013, 11:54:05 AM
I have Ubuntu. But my system reboots every 6 hours and *always* corrupt my blockchain, forcing me download everything again Sad

But I'll try to use a VirtualBox with snapshots, so if I have the DB corrupt again I just recover the last snapshot. Anyway, OTC is complicated. For me, a 11-yrs programmers is annoying the steps, you can imagine for my mum, for example. It's true: OTC is impossible to handle. We have a more user-friendly system, maybe linked with Facebook account. I know it is possible to make FB fakes, but it's hard to do a good fake, with a lot of pics, old posts, real friends etc.
I used Electrum for signing. You are lucky GPG come pre-installed with Ubuntu but I don't think you will go that far.

I don't use Facecrap btw.

If you go to Vegas or almost any casino you will notice those bet sizing aren't unusual. Don't forget the losing max bet around the same time. There is at least one big whale playing SatoshiDICE.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Oracle Corp. said Monday it has released a fix for the flaw in its Java software that raised an alarm from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security last week.

Even after the patch was issued, the federal agency continued to recommend that users disable Java in their Web browsers.

PayPal is prone to chargeback. Bitcoin payment are irreversible. It is also against PayPal TOS to sell currency.

Trading:
MtGox

Mt.Gox Mobile hasn't updated for over year now and constantly crashes on my Nexus4. I don't think this app qualifies for the "best" Android app...
My bad. I installed the app but did not really try it. Removed.

I use Spinner and Bitcoin widget.

I can only warn you to not install all the bitcoin wallpapers and gadgets out there as it might be some scammer waiting for the exploit to part you from you android wallet balance. actually even the open source apps are not save as you would have to compile them yourself to know they are based on the reviewed code.

I trust Spinner to some degree and the widget I compiled myself not for security concerns but because I wanted to patch it.
I agree. I'm still reluctant to have any Bitcoin balance on my phone. You never know when a developer will push a rogue update.

Some people seems to dislike poker players. Most of the time they are fish at life and at the table.

Can you explain this proverb for me? It doesn't scan in english.

OK, I assume the table is the poker table? Why would they play poker if they dislike poker players?

It's probably clear from this that I don't play poker, but it's relevant to my interest.
I've met some fish that dislike other players especially when they are always losing. Why do they play? Maybe addiction or inflated ego... Anyway, this sentence is flawed. It was probably before my first coffee and my english is far from perfect.

My question is wither or not the single/jally boxes at CES are equally empty.

Nope.

Which makes the Big Box of EmptynessTM all the more absurd
I've read this is an FPGA in an ASIC box but correct me if I'm wrong.
