2181  Other / Meta / Re: Great addition for reports -- Age of a post on: May 08, 2023, 03:54:51 PM
Sadly, I did not see lately too many action against plagiarists. Most reporters complain that their reports were handled as good, the respective posts were deleted, yet the plagiarists were not banned.
~snip~

If the problem is to ban someone who plagiarizes (at least temporarily), what about those who post a report for some other reasons that can be very questionable? There is a big chance that such reports will remain unhandled or be marked as bad, so it really seems that those who spend their time on reports are doing so in vain.

Regarding plagiarism as a violation of forum rules, we were already in a similar situation as now, when many reporters complained that posts were deleted without any punishment, and for some reason it is happening again. I think that this could result in fewer and fewer reports, of course to the joy of all plagiarists and fans of AI posts.
2182  Economy / Services / Re: I offer free acceleration service for screwed up BTC transactions on: May 08, 2023, 03:33:25 PM
OP seems to have failed to "accelerate" transaction (for now), and somehow I doubt that it will happen because too much time has passed since his post. I also tried with the only free accelerator that works, but although the transaction fee is sufficient, the problem is in the size of the transaction.

But if every coach they had is doing the same tactics, why do they change the coaches at all? I thought that changing of a coach means that the management is not happy with the tactic that he is using. But if everything stays the same after they change a coach, what's the point?

I think that by frequently changing coaches, the club's management just wants to somehow justify doing something, because if they don't replace the coach after a series of bad results, someone will wonder if they (the management) should be replaced. It's hard to keep track of how many times a club has changed its coach in one HNL season, but if a club does it 3 or 4 times during the season, then the problem is definitely not with the coaches, but somewhere else.

If we take the example of Hajduk and Leko, who was brought in with great noise, we see that he is a man who is not and will not change anything. For those who followed a little better what happened around his arrival, it was possible to read that his vision of the game and the players that Hajduk has were not compatible from the beginning.
2184  Economy / Reputation / Re: jerry0 case on: May 07, 2023, 03:44:31 PM
I received a personal message from jerry0 in which he wrote something that might explain his situation, so although it is not appropriate to publish the content of such messages, it might be better for everyone to see his explanation. I tried to explain to him how he can get to his old topics/posts, and now it remains to be seen whether this will help him not to repeat the same questions over and over again.

Hey there.  Saw you post replies to my threads.  Yes i am aware i might post new threads that wast posted months or years ago.  The reason is because i either forgot i post that question, or i know i posted that type of question but can't find it on google or on search forum.  That is why.
2185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: More exchanges shutting down, Hold your Asset with You on: May 07, 2023, 03:24:09 PM
I've used Kucoin and their transaction fee on BTC is about $14 and lesser when using their KCC network; $0.5 fees.
~snip~

It is even more expensive than the priority fees that now need to be paid for confirmation in the next block, of course for transactions of standard size. Of course, every service has a price, and CEXs charge it really expensively or try to trick users into using some of their alternatives.

Aside from multiple uncomfirmed transactions, I'd say that miners are paying a lot on power fees and it could be a criterion that affects the high fees on bitcoin transaction. I mean how can Miners be supported if not through the fees?

Every miner (mining pool) who finds a block is rewarded with 6.25 BTC, so it's quite enough initiative for what they do - and the fees are just extra profit. We cannot blame the miners for all these unconfirmed transactions, they are doing what they have always done, and the current high fees are the result of someone else's stupidity, because I have no other expression for what is happening.
2186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will the new Unicoin affect Bitcoin? on: May 07, 2023, 10:59:02 AM
I think that is the idea. Each country will have its own brand of mthe Unicoin, in much the same way as each EU member state has its own Euro.
~snip~

What exactly do you mean when you say that each eurozone member has its own euro? The euro is the common currency of the members of the eurozone and as such is unique in all its members, and the only thing that differs are the coins that each country can issue in a certain period of time with its own motives. Now that you mention some brands and the same digital currency, it all makes even less sense to me, because then what will the CBDC, like the digital euro, dollar or pound, serve?
2187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will the new Unicoin affect Bitcoin? on: May 06, 2023, 03:02:09 PM
The DCMA ( Digital Currency Monetary Authority ) announced the release of the Unicoin at the end of last month. This is intended to be the supernational  digital currency unveiled by the IMF, and it is intended to incorporate it into the SWIFT payment system ( well that's what the blurb seems to imply).

Although I do not doubt that the whole project will be launched, somehow it seems to me that not even all the machinery that the IMF owns will create anything important from all of this in the sense that the coin will start to be used by the masses. According to what happened in the past, it is not so important what it is actually about, but who is behind it. Let's just remember how much hype FB Libra achieved even when it didn't officially exist, but it had a platform of 2+ billion people to whom it could sell its project.

So how will this affect Bitcoin? Obviously Bitcoin is an alternative to the government control via payment restrictions. The government can't stop Bitcoin directly, and restricting exchanges with the fiat system could lead to an alternative payment system to the detriment of the national currency. I believe that government agencies and banks have been buying large blocks of Bitcoin to restrict its supply, and to create volatility. They will probably continue to do this to make it unattractive to businesses.
What can we do to help stabilise Bitcoin as it enters its first stages of maturity.

Little or not at all, because the concept behind Bitcoin is completely opposite to what the IMF and the like offer. The IMF and similar organizations obviously want digitization in their own way, and it is quite legitimate for them to try, time will show how successful they were.

As for the idea that there is some secret agenda of buying BTC in order to harm it, somehow it doesn't seem to make much sense to me. If that were happening, someone would already notice such things, because not all countries work with black funds that hide their tracks. If someone powerful enough wants to harm BTC, then they can do it in a much simpler way through laws that cost them almost nothing but ink and paper.
2188  Economy / Economics / Re: Shrinkflation on: May 06, 2023, 02:22:16 PM
If you can reduce the packaging and sell it at a higher price than before, and in addition use lower quality raw materials to make the product, then most companies will do it - profit comes first, and they consider customers to be sheep who are not very intelligent anyway.
That is truly a disgraceful act especially since the goods being sold are commodities or the main needs of the people in living their lives, that is too cruel, capitalistic thinking like that is inhumane.

Business is business, and everything else is irrelevant, considering that we have already become a society that is almost completely dependent on producers and sellers, and self-sustainability is becoming a fairy tale that even children no longer believe in. When the system makes you an "addict", then it is very easy to manipulate you, even if you realize that you are being manipulated.

A good article for those who want to see how it looks on concrete examples -> Here's what that looks like.

@Fivestar4everMVP, my current minimum faucet reward is 7 satoshi and I'm not a premium user. If you look at the information displayed on the main page, you can see that you can increase the minimum reward by betting on events, buying lottery tickets, or playing multiply bets until your min reward per hour is 133 sats (that's what it shows to me).

I don't remember doing anything other than buying lottery tickets regularly, which pays off in the long run because the lowest prize on the faucet increases.

Honestly if we are to consider the rate of the ongoing transaction fees on the bitcoin network, one could got discouraged from making any move in doing a frequent transaction like others do irrespective of them being a trader or not...
~snip~

Maybe a stupid question, but I haven't used CEX for a long time (which is actually a good thing), so I'm wondering if their withdrawal services are more expensive now considering the situation, or is the fee fixed at some amount when it comes to Bitcoin?

I agree that some will be discouraged by the current situation considering that we are used to paying fees of $0.50 and less, and now they amount to a minimum of $2 and up to $6 per transaction. I was hoping that the situation would calm down a bit, but now I see that we have over 300k unconfirmed transactions, and more and more "concerned" people who wonder if there is an end to this.
2191  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loyalty Bonuses & Promotions on Crypto Casinos and Sportsbooks on: May 06, 2023, 01:34:03 PM
although the topic should be bumped from time to time because given the activity on this board, it loses visibility very quickly.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm afraid of the signature campaign spammers who make unnecessary posts in different topics. But I will bump this thread occasionally if it is really helping the gamblers.

You have the right to bump a topic every 24 hours (of course with the deletion of the old bump - rule 32), but maybe you should contact the global mod or admin for this board and ask to stick your topic on the top. Given that it is extremely useful information and that the merits show what users think about it, it is possible that you have a chance to have your request approved. Even if the answer is negative, it doesn't hurt to ask Smiley
2192  Economy / Economics / Re: So is SBF the reason for the possible upcoming global finance crash? on: May 06, 2023, 01:21:46 PM

Maybe it was all a coincidence.

I don't believe that there are coincidences, especially not in businesses worth hundreds of billions of dollars, but I do believe that there are events that can indirectly cause other negative events. I have already written what I think about all this, and all this is not my idea, but it was written about in the majority of influential media, and it is based on the FED report.

Speculations are one thing, and facts are something completely different - I advise you to read the following article.

The Federal Reserve blamed last month’s collapse of Silicon Valley Bank on poor management, watered-down regulations and lax oversight by its own staffers, and said the industry needs stricter policing on multiple fronts to prevent future bank failures.

I got so sick of the crap their dishing out these days I pulled out a real old classic the other day.

My old favorite spaghetti western.

My name is Nobody.

You can find it on youtube.

I will never forget when I went to see those movies with my family in the cinema, it always remained in my fond memory. Even today, I like to watch some classic westerns, and I noticed that, in addition to YT, they can also be found on PLEX, which is a free streaming service for smart TVs or smartphones.

I can say that I agree with the majority that Mr. Bankman is certainly not to blame for what is happening with US banks because he and his company are actually trivial compared to the size of those banks that have already failed and those that will go in that direction. I read somewhere that the value of these three largest is estimated at around $530 billion, which is currently slightly less than the value of all BTC mined so far.

In addition, various analyzes have confirmed that the exposure of the aforementioned banks to crypto was very low, and that the collapse of FTX and the drop in the price of cryptocurrencies had almost no influence on the fact that they were poorly managed and that everyone from the FED down knew about it for years and they didn't do anything.
2195  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loyalty Bonuses & Promotions on Crypto Casinos and Sportsbooks on: May 05, 2023, 02:53:11 PM
Great job OP Wink

I have to admit that I see a lot of well-known names on the list, considering that they have (or had) their own signature campaigns on the forum, but also some that I didn't know existed. In any case, this is valuable information for every gambler, although the topic should be bumped from time to time because given the activity on this board, it loses visibility very quickly.
2196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Experienced Winning Bets By Upsets on: May 05, 2023, 02:36:53 PM
Have you bet on the underdogs and won?
How many times you did this?
And what made you bet on the underdogs is it because of insider tips or just an insight based on your analysis?

Sports events can be analyzed if you know what to look for and how to find the right opportunity. I had various techniques in sports betting, and one was to bet on underdogs, but not on wins or losses, but on the fact that they will score a goal in the match (I'm talking about football of course). Of course, you need to monitor the form of the team and how often they score/don't score, and when you find the right opportunity, it can really pay off.

The odds I played on were usually between 1.4 and 1.6, which means that each bet could be doubled if you combined two events.
2197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: More exchanges shutting down, Hold your Asset with You on: May 05, 2023, 02:10:43 PM
There is no reason for you to keep your money on the platform after the trading is completed, all you need is to withdraw your money after you finish trading and divide it into several payments. It is true that you will pay higher fees, but you will reduce the risk if the platform decides to close your account or goes bankrupt.
~snip~

For those who are traders on a daily basis, it certainly does not make sense to withdraw funds every day because it is simply too expensive and impractical. CEX wants to keep as many "coins" in their possession as possible in order to have as much liquidity as possible, and they achieve this by having a rather expensive withdraw/service fee, or by making statements like :

“For most people, for 99% of people today, asking them to hold crypto on their own, they will end up losing it”

Considering how many people have a very high opinion of the "gentleman" in question, I am not surprised that the biggest CEX "store" millions BTC for their clients.
2198  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.4 Relased on: May 05, 2023, 01:50:06 PM
Version 4.4.2 has been released, could you confirm your problem is solved?

Thanks for the info, I just checked in the PlayStore and I see that the new version is available, but right now I can't check if the problem still exists because my wallet is completely empty, and considering the current fees, I'll wait a bit before testing Wink

Anyway, I'll try the new version ASAP and come back with feedback.

2200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving effects, how long they will last? on: May 04, 2023, 10:51:41 AM
Halving still has a great psychological meaning, although the numbers change over time and at one point in less than 10 years we will have 99% of Bitcoin mined and that 1% (210 000 BTC) will no longer be something that will mean much to the miners or to some next halving. Of course, we should not wait so long to feel that the effects of halving will weaken, although as mentioned in previous posts, halving is one constant that will probably continue to play a role for many "investors".

I remember the halving in 2016 well and it stayed in my memory, and I remember the one from 2020 (although not so well), and honestly the one that will happen in 2024 is not too important to me.
