221  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: August 14, 2016, 09:40:00 AM
The website has evolved nicely keeping the free lottery and generous referral program that have worked and adding an automatic lottery and deposits.

Is there a thread where I can post my referral link ?

PD is a good bitcoin gambling website in terms of features, speed, reliability and ... it has been around a while. Gambling makes you lose money in the long run though  Wink
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Incredible stories of Bitcoin millionaires on: August 01, 2016, 05:53:34 PM
I was looking at https://blockchain.info/address/1Fd8RuZqJNG4v56rPD1v6rgYptwnHeJRWs Stefan Molyneux's bitcoin adress :

Total Received   652.94530317 BTC

Final Balance   521.24590891 BTC

He accumulated quite a lot of bitcoins through donations, it will eventually buy a lot in a few years and it is incredible. Do you have other stories of people accumulating large amount of bitcoins without investing any fiat ?

Bitcoin is a very secure mean of exchange and a useful store of value.
225  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: July 13, 2016, 06:16:46 AM
Bitcoin is spreading throughout the globe and it would be more convenient to us who uses bitcoin in buying stuffs because many merchants would do accept btc as a payment and soon would became more popular which the time comes it would be known as one of the global currency.

We don't know how many new users arrive and how many of us stop using bitcoins, the number of transactions going up and the price going up are both good signs that can indicate a growing adopting.

The fact is that Bitcoin is a global currency, the other global currency and honest mean of exchange is Gold.

most patient will be winner

I'm glad I bought at $330 ... I do not have to be patient :-)

I bought at $6 and my patience ran out over a year ago.

Bough my main stash around $30-$90 and some around $300. Still hodling like a pro.

With the forming bullish patterns we might see $1k  till Dec after all.

60% chance we see 1000$
30% chance we see 1500$
10% chance we see 2000$

It is a great time to buy :-)
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: June 27, 2016, 06:15:32 AM
You're one of the ultra rare lucky ones. Talk to the thousands of people with money in Mt Gox, Bitinstant, ButterflyLabs, Gaw Miners, MyBitcoin, Pirates Ponzi, Bitcoinica, Bitscalper, Inputs.IO, Vicurex, Cryptorush, TradeHill, CryptoXChange, GBL, Just Dice, Bitcoin Rain, The Silk Road Seizure, Sheep Marketplace, BS&T, PicoStocks, Bitfloor, Basic Mining, Mintpal and many, many others.

Why is Just-Dice on that list of ponzis, scams, hacks, and thefts? Just-Dice took care of the over 60,000 BTC entrusted to it and returned it all when it shut down.

Ok, you found one that was corrected. The point remains that Bitcoin facilitates loss in a way that no other payment system does and has no insurance or fraud protection covering it. I was one of the lucky ones that made money when you could mine with a gpu at almost no cost other than electricity. From now on, people will need to put their own money in to it and they will only make money if they live long enough to see an enormous increase in the exchange rate. It's a gamble that may pay off but it's high risk.

There are many secure investments that pay 10-20% a year. If you start today with $10,000 and average 20% a year for 20 years, you'll have over $380,000. Add $2,000 a year to the pot, and you'll wind up with $756,751 after 20 years. Granted, 20% a year is not super easy to achieve. But even if you only make 10% a year, you're still going to become very wealthy over the long term. People are getting scammed or throwing their money at gambling bitcoins because the return isn't happening fast enough for them. They should simply try a stable long term investment.

I don't know any secure invesments in the developed world that pay 1% a year yet along 10% a year.

You can achieve an average of 5-10% a year if you take short term risks.
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go back to bellow $400? on: June 13, 2016, 04:03:13 PM
It is more likely to go to 1000$ than 400$ within 6 months.
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin go back to bellow $400? on: May 30, 2016, 05:27:10 PM
Since the latest rise of the bitcoin price to the $550 level, there is little possible for it to drop below $400.

But there is a high possibility of reaching 1000$ within a year as the developed world finance system implodes and the $ loses most its value.
231  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: May 03, 2016, 12:17:39 PM
"I'm also holding because I think the bitcoin is gonna rise to a higher amount for sure, I really have the feeling the bitcoins is also gonna get a lot bigger if this happen.
A lot of people are now holding their bitcoin because a lot of people also know its gonna be a good time for the bitcoin this year.
This year will not not be boring at all for the bitcoin, I really have no doubt about that with the halving that is coming."

Why do most posts lately sound just like this dribble? is this a fucking moron, someone who barely has a grasp on the english language, someone trolling for jollies, or simply a spamming bot?
Also, to the original poster: update to satisfy our curiosity, please tell me you reconsidered and didn't hodl till now.

I think most people hold because of the reasons developed in the post you cited  Wink

The FED will not raise interest rates or only marginally, it will even cut them back to zero or negative then start QE again so the Dollar will plunge. The data is very bad in the first world so the markets will capitulate so gold and bitcoin will rise tremendously within 18 months as market bubbles pop.

234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: April 02, 2016, 11:55:16 AM
I use bitcoins the same ways i use fiat for, making trades and deals , paying some bills online, and sometimes holding the coins to the price increasing if it's expected to increase

this is the same as I do every month. Use it in different ways and pay for my monthly bills. This bitcoin helps a lot making my life easier than the past. My budget become more bigger including my salary from work.

How is your budget becoming bigger ? How do you accumulate bitcoins ?

I was wondering today about what bitcoiners use bitcoins for and what are the growing use, those are two important questions
235  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: March 20, 2016, 03:54:27 PM
As im reading all the speculation in the past days everyone is talking about the halving and they are holding their bitcoin,so i guess i will be holding too.

It's wise to hold your coins at least till the block halving. After that you can decide for yourself whether you want to sell or not. You just need a few more months patience. Easy.

Patience can really profit you a lot, like in the coming months were we are heading for the halving its sure that the price will rise but we dont know how much.

Its not really bad to hold coins right now as it will give you benefit in the future when you sell it with a high price.
Yeah holding your bitcoins is a good strategy because the bitcoin price might increase after the bitcoin block halving.

holding is great for people with enough patience and dedication. but the fact is that a lot people here can't even hold their coins for a single month. not sure if it's due to them being in panic when they see the price go down, or maybe they get bored because the price doesn't move much, but these people mostly end up making losses as they chase quick profits. they don't realize that holding their coins will make them much more profit. some people never learn.

It is getting long but in fact the longer it gets the stronger bitcoin is likely to become

237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: March 04, 2016, 01:46:21 PM
in the long term the inflation will be too high, resulting in a low value of CLAM, so people will be less inclined to use it.

Is there any evidence from the altcoin domain to support this assertion?

Cheers

Graham

Inflation is relatively high in clam but if enough people use clam it will not be high enough that the price goes down

239  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: February 21, 2016, 09:20:07 AM
Both ! You can close the thread  Wink
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 30, 2016, 09:16:58 PM
...
the idea is to have enough TX on the network so that fee's replace block subsidy.

i say, let the BMO's blockchain app spam away!

The idea, for now, is to build up userbase. That's the point of block rewards.

We are not growing fast at the moment but the userbase is large enough so that the price could shoot up to thousands of dollars when the develop world's economy starts tanking again
