221  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Unofficial Gcash Thread/ Discussion on: January 24, 2024, 12:10:06 PM

  • Requirements to file a claim for Send Money Protect
You will need to file a police report within 24 hours of the discovery of the fraud
You will need to notify GCash within 24 hours of the discovery of fraud to stop further fraudulent activities or suspend your account in the event of an account takeover fraud. Click here to file a report
You must make reasonable attempts to recover the funds back
You must retain documentary evidence of the fraud
You must notify Chubb as soon as possible by calling the hotline +63277565410, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, excluding public holidays

Documents needed to file a claim for Send Money Protect
Copy of the original police report(s)
Statement detailing the discovery of the fraud or unauthorized transaction(s) from your GCash Account.
Documentary proof that the Express Send Money transaction was made:
Screenshot of the GCash transaction receipt with reference no.
    GCash transaction activity history in-app
Copy of any chat communication, SMS, call logs, email, fraudulent website, or other method of digital communication that led to the Express Send money transaction(s) or request for fund(s)
Copy of any chat communication, SMS, call logs, email, fraudulent website, or other method of digital communication showing reasonable attempts to recover the funds back from the third party.
Any additional supporting documents proving that you are a victim of fraud

imagine 30 pesos per sending
Mali ka kabayan... For a whole month ang sinisingil nilang ₱30 [good for protecting up to ₱15k].
222  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor's 3rd-Party Support Portal was Hacked on: January 24, 2024, 09:43:56 AM
I don't see any good reason to contact trezor support, unless there was a lost package, device stopped working or something similar.
Apart from lost packages, I'd go with creating a thread on their forum instead.

To my knowledge Trezor only holds onto customer ordering info for up to 30 or 90 days I can't remember which.
It's 90 days but they "only anonymize it", as opposed to deleting it [I got mixed feelings about it]!
- It's worth noting that the issue we're facing at the moment is about their customer support data (the above data that you were referring to wasn't affected).
223  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ex7.io: Innovative Exchange Platform for Anonymous Cryptocurrency Transactions on: January 23, 2024, 04:11:44 PM
I don't understand what kind of fake reviews we are talking about. Customers leave feedback, we have no other option.
Try to cross-check the registration date on the Whois result page with the date of the comments I highlighted in my last post to better understand the issue in question.

The "lock topic" button that you were looking for is in the bottom left corner of the page.
224  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor's 3rd-Party Support Portal was Hacked on: January 23, 2024, 02:24:26 PM
- The leaked data involves email addresses and names/usernames used.
One of their Reddit mods [@kaacaSL] mentioned "maximally 8 phone numbers could have been compromised" as well [unfortunately].

Here is an example of the phishing email that customers received from the hacker:
https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/01/20/kawNg.jpeg
And "here's" a different attempt by the hacker.
- The previous version probably wasn't that successful.
225  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 10% discount on Ledger hardware wallets on: January 23, 2024, 12:35:36 PM
while the new customer receives a $20 bitcoin voucher.
IIRC, in the past it required them to redeem it in one of their third-party platforms and a lot of users faced various types of issues, so hopefully it'd be different this time.
- BTW, given the fact that they've doubled the reward for their new customers, I think they're quite desperate now!
226  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Bitcoin Halvening Watch on: January 20, 2024, 03:49:49 PM
we have a 2 year warranty,
Is this limited to the "Bitcoin Halving Watch" or do the other watches also get two years of warranty?
- On your website it states having only a one-year warranty!

Do you have any plans to expand your reach by having official resellers in other countries?
- Some of us can't order directly from the US.
227  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Altmarkets.io - Scam! on: January 19, 2024, 08:03:56 PM
I also got scammed by this exchange, 0.17 BTC pending withdrawal for 6 months now.

is anyone in here doing something to get this AH's?
I'm sorry to hear that... The only person who has tried to track them from this thread was @pieter123 but for some reason, he didn't post any updates and that was also the last time he logged into his account.
- You can find a few alternative routes from "this post".

229  Economy / Goods / Re: BITCOIN & CRYPTO APPAREAL FOR SALE on: January 17, 2024, 08:49:39 PM
Nevertheless, if you have any suggestions on helping us integrate the crypto payment option, please do.
The following list contains various types of payment processors for your website: Awesome Bitcoin Payment Processors

  • A couple of notes:
    • Some of them limit your customers based on their locations!
    • From the above list, you can find a few that also offer payments for other cryptocurrencies, but for Bitcoin, I'd suggest trying BTCPay [self-hosted] and Blockonomics [hosted].
230  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Megaasic.ru - Scammers on: January 17, 2024, 06:53:00 PM
@FP91G
I'm not Russian, but I did a reverse image search on one of the MegaAsic images and it led to an OLX listing from AsicFix, so there might be some connection between the two [or it's just a rip-off]:

231  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm New To Crypto - Been Scammed - What Do You Think Of This Crypto Recovery Ser on: January 17, 2024, 05:31:43 PM
  • I completed the necessary paperwork with the FBI Fraud Department, but unfortunately, no action was taken.
Considering that you know two of the addresses, I think your best bet is to use services that help with tracing such things [hopefully, they'd come in handy for intercepting their activities but having said that, don't get your hopes up]:

Here you can find some of the third-party providers:
Note: AFAIK, most of them aren't providing their services to individuals, but they might come in handy + I prefer to not vouch for their services [DYOR].

However, I just now went to my bank's website. They only provide a record of the wire transfer for up to 180 days.  I made the wire transfer about a year ago.
That's weird... I always thought most of them were supposed to retain such data for at least a few years!

why is there old information here?
What do you want to achieve?
You have a point, but you might want to refer to the latter part of the subject field.
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet suggestions? on: January 16, 2024, 08:04:27 PM
And what are the best ways for me to keep my cryptocurrencies safe?
Apart from Bitcoin, you didn't mention which other cryptocurrencies are part of your portfolio, but ideally, you should pick an "open-source hardware wallet [with "secure element and "reproducible builds (it doesn't mean it's completely safe, but it's a good starting point)"]" that supports all of them.

The choice between less bad and cheap would be the Trezor model 1.
You have a point, but considering that it has started not to receive important updates, I'd go with the next best thing [Trezor Safe 3] that's superior to the older Model One.
234  Local / Pilipinas / Re: [Tutoryal]: Paano gamitin ang Viabtc transaction accelerator on: January 16, 2024, 02:32:39 PM
kasi kung talagang from outside ang Bot na yan and surely alam na nila na nangyayari eh gagawan nila ng paraan para matigil ang abuse , but hindi ganon eh
It's worth noting na a few months back, binago nila ang pag-detect ng mga bot gamit ang bago nilang image-based captcha, pero hindi rin nagtagal masyado bago nakahanap ng panibagong solusyon ang mga bot developers [unfortunately].
235  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DIY Bitcoin Blockclock on: January 16, 2024, 08:56:47 AM
Why go through all that trouble, if you can just re-purpose a old used cellphone?
~Snipped~
I can easily check the price of Bitcoin and some other Alt coins, just by clicking on the drop down button. (It auto updates)
You have a point, but it's worth noting that they're not limited to showing only the price [you can display other Bitcoin-related stats, and some of them even allow you to display custom data that has nothing to do with Bitcoin] and IMO, it improves almost any kind of setup [design-wise].
236  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: 50 Hardware Wallets, compared feature by feature on: January 14, 2024, 05:07:17 PM
- Now you can see the latest version and release date of each hardware wallet firmware.
Here are a few of the missing versions with their release dates:

- Ledger Nano S Plus = v1.1.1 [January 8, 2024]
- Ledger Nano S Plus = v2.2.3 [October 19, 2023]
- Ellipal Titan Mini = v3.11.0 [?]
- Ellipal Titan 2.0 = v3.12.0 [?]
- D'CENT Biometric Wallet = v2.30.1 [December 18, 2023]
- NGrave Zero = v1.4.1 [January 2024]
- Safepal S1 = v1.0.54 [November 29, 2023]
- Safepal S1 Pro = v1.0.54 [November 29, 2023]
- Safepal X1 = v1.0.4 [November 29, 2023]

- Added Frostnap hardware wallet
Quite interesting... In case you missed my "previous post", there's another one that's missing from your list.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ASK] About Ledger and Transaction Speed Bitcoin on: January 14, 2024, 03:14:08 PM
In my opinion, bitcoin transactions are very slow, because they take around 10 minutes
Bitcoin transactions are happening almost instantly, but the 10 minutes that you were referring to is for the confirmation time [or rather the average time between each block]... Depending on their fees and the network load, it might take you longer before you get the first confirmation.

Can bitcoin transactions be accelerated in the future?
Regarding its speed, it can happen temporarily when there's a huge inflow of miners or rather hash rates, but because of the difficulty adjustments [every 2016 blocks (roughly 2 weeks)], it wouldn't last very long.

Hopefully this helps with seeing the hologram better,
Thank you, I'm sure it does, but I was referring to the front side of KHRUSOS V1 [specifically referring to the top half of the provided sample on your website (it appears to be uneven near the edge)].
- I should've been clearer (my bad).
239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of useful Bitcoin block explorers on: January 13, 2024, 04:23:58 PM
I also feel the same, SFR10. Thank you for mentioning that.
You're very welcome Smiley

I suggest to wait a few other opinions as well and then, if nobody else says the opposite, we'll delete it. Sounds good? Smiley
Yes, that sounds good to me... While we're waiting for the above thing, I managed to find another one that requires doing a few things to access the TX history:

Added a few more categories
  • Last time I checked, Bitcointalk wasn't under the "browser games" category [there might be some conflicting elements in the code].
  • A light/dark switch button would also be nice.
