1121  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I need your suggestions, Project:Coin Crypto Price on: July 11, 2022, 11:46:46 AM
The date we use or API is from coingecko https://www.coingecko.com/en/api
Are you sure your developer is using a single API only? I'm not a developer by any means, but perhaps he/she is using multiple APIs without noticing a conflict in certain parts and that might be the reason for inaccurate data...
- The issue that I reported last month in regards to BTCitcoin value still exists!

First, the charts on the coin page, they are completely useless and non-functional.
Have you tried checking it with different browsers?
- I didn't encounter any issues in Chrome.
1122  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Show off your hardware wallet on: July 11, 2022, 10:05:57 AM
will include an NFT of some sort. Roll Eyes
and for this it is trying to stimulate buyers with the help of nft bonus.
I have limited knowledge in regards to NFTs as a whole, but IIRC, the POAP NFT that came with the genesis edition of the S Plus had restrictions or rather wasn't made to be like a regular NFT, so I think the same would probably apply to this one as well [I don't think they'll be able to easily sell it]!

The Nano S Plus seems better to me than the X if it weren't for the missing support for a whole bunch of assets.
I agree with you... Even though "they've fixed most of it", I'm still surprised to see a couple of apps are still missing after roughly 4 months!

Considering that only a few users have posted so far, perhaps it's time to find them from other threads:

The site describes itself (lies of course):
~Snipped~
Did plagiarism check on that part and it led to another similar website (syncconnect.org), but it asks users to scan a certain QR code instead... After that, I did the same for all of their offered services and that led to a bunch of other scam platforms (reconnectmyapp.com [their scam page isn't configured properly], daapreconnect.com and hrouvr.com [it also shows an error that forces users to connect manually])!
1124  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Don't use Bitswap.kr on: July 10, 2022, 02:21:45 PM
I started a new exchange because the old one was completed for me but the new exchange from BTC to XMR is still not processing since 24-06-2022.

I tried to contact the support several times from different email adresses but there's no reaction.
After visiting their "How it works" page, it's quite clear that they're just an exchange/swap aggregator, so you should try contacting the platforms that are listed as their partners [even though they're clearly lying about having a partner] and see if they have anything to do with the swap in question.
Note: I'm not implying that I'm ruling out the possibility of them being a bunch of scammers!
1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get your coins out of Coinify ASAP on: July 10, 2022, 12:47:41 PM
So if you have any money there and can still get to it, now would be a VERY good time to get it out.
Thank you for the warning... I'm surprised their offers still pops-out on Trezor Suite [the same thing probably applies to Ledger Live and other HW brands that use their services]!

Most likely, Coinifly is not going to allow withdrawals as of the time of the bankruptcy filing if the bankruptcy filing is going to affect the operations. So it is likely too late to withdraw.
I looked around but couldn't find anyone that recently complained about withdrawal issues on Coinify [it's worth noting that it's the exact opposite for Voyager's users], so perhaps there's still some hope.
1126  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Passport (FE) hardware wallet review and walkthrough on: July 10, 2022, 09:14:40 AM
What other types would you like to connect to? Bitcoin Core through RPC? I guess it can be requested and / or added and PR'ed when it goes live on GitHub.
You nailed it [I was hoping it'd have fewer node restrictions in comparison to Trezor Suite, but as things stand, it offers fewer options].
- I hope someone does the latter part of your quote.

On the other hand, it's meant to be a basic, small-feature-set thing to get people started easily without focus on 'power users' for the time being, as far as I know.
You have a point, but isn't it easier to just connect [directly] our Bitcoin Core nodes instead? As someone who uses Windows OS, I decided to not deal with the hassle of running an Electrum server in the past [CMIIW but AFAIK, it's still a similar case for Windows users].

You mean mask it with duct tape and spray paint it? That would work as a last resort, in case it's hard to take apart, sure.
Yes, exactly Smiley
1127  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Coinsbee.com - Buy gift cards with about 50 crypto currencies! on: July 09, 2022, 07:19:08 PM
We would be very happy if you tell us what u think about the new version.  Smiley
It's an attractive design, but I feel the content on the homepage is a bit all over the place [especially when viewed on larger screens (e.g. desktop)], so IMO it just needs a bit of minimalist approach to make it flawless Smiley
- It'd be nice to also see everything in dark mode.
1128  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Foundation Passport (FE) hardware wallet review and walkthrough on: July 09, 2022, 11:08:38 AM
I found some comparison images between old and new Passport devices.

Did they alter the foundation letters' color into black or is it just because of the reflection?

All owners of Passport Founder’s Edition can apply for beta testing of their new Envoy app.
I was excited to see their app, but I'm a bit disappointed that it only supports certain types of nodes [e.g. running on Tor and Electrum servers].
- Skip to "0:08 seconds on this" video.

Still not a fan of the golden buttons on the front; I consider taking them out and spray-painting them..  Lips sealed
Polish may do the trick. I hope these devices are easy to disassemble..
Or you can go with the traditional way of using duck tapes and plastics to cover other areas instead Wink
1129  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Another KYC requirements ng coins.ph? on: July 09, 2022, 09:23:13 AM
Is there a chance na mag ask ng re-KYC ang coins for the third time?
1130  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAmWATCH] Cryptobold.com; Fake Trading signals on: July 08, 2022, 07:04:40 AM
There are some companies who claim that scammed money can be recovered by them.
~Snipped~
I'm not familiar with those websites, but if they ask for upfront payments [in 99% of cases, they do], they're probably a bunch of scammers as well!

Found a couple more websites with similar content:

1131  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ✅ ✅ ✅ [ANN] Shaker.finance - trusted & safe BTC mixing solutions ✅ ✅ ✅ on: July 08, 2022, 05:50:28 AM
For the standard mix mode it's relatively safe, you won't get your coins but will get someone else coins that's the idea
Yes, I understood that part before and that's exactly why I think it's not that safe! Essentially, it'll lead to fusing two different digital footprints together [even if there's a single hop in-between] and that could go wrong in various ways [e.g. when an analysis company traces those transactions, there'll be collateral damage].
1132  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Crypto Debit Cards on: July 07, 2022, 04:56:47 PM
Visa has released a new  crypto credit card - bitcoinblack, but only for residents of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates:
Judging by the articles they've featured in before [e.g. this one], it seems that they first launched in Canada so I don't think it's limited to wealthy UAE residents...
- They've also used the following line in various places on their website: "Limited to 10,000 members worldwide"
1133  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ✅ ✅ ✅ [ANN] Shaker.finance - trusted & safe BTC mixing solutions ✅ ✅ ✅ on: July 07, 2022, 02:22:13 PM
In this case you will receive money of people who used mixer before you. Choose that mode if you

want to save on transaction fees but still remain anonymous and safe
Personally, I wouldn't label it as "safe" if it's going to create a bridge between someone else's previous history and the other user!

This mode allows crypto holders receiving completely clean and anonymous Bitcoins that come from
cryptocurrency exchanges and/or miners. Choose this mode if you want to receive completely clean

coins with lowest available AML score percentage
I had a brief experience with a few analysis software tools in the past and IIRC, "most" exchanges returned with medium-risk ML scores!

  -  Open statistics: in the mix monitor section you can see chart & latest mixes volumes
If I were you, I'd remove that section completely [it's not that hard to connect the dots if everything you've listed in there is accurate]!

  -  Unlimited max amount: Send any amount and mixing will go smoothly even if it's 10 BTC!
A signed message would be nice Smiley
Pag dating sa traditional banks, I highly doubt magooffer sila ng ganitong products, pero I have a feeling na at some point in the future, ilan sa mga digital banks natin ang magkakaroon ng ganitong products [this may sound weird, but I'm leaning more towards Tonik (soon to offer crypto products) to be the first of it's kind to offer such a thing].

Kaya preferred ko tlaga ang loan sa bank dahil no strong attached at tanging collateral lang ang need.
Nasubukan mo na bang kumuha ng loan from "GCash" at "Tonik"?
- I prefer to not vouch, pero mukhang nagbibigay sila ng non collateralized loans!
1135  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin in 401k? What could we expect? on: July 07, 2022, 08:21:36 AM
as far as I know, 401k is a retirement fund, but there is bitcoin in it. I don't this is a good choice, yes bitcoin might have something really good if we see the historical data but highly volatile is really bad unless they know to counter it and know what are they doing
As long as they're not about to retire and only include a "small portion" of the 20% max cap that Fidelity is offering for their 401(k) plans, it should be more than enough to counter most of the volatility issues that BTCitcoin has.
1136  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: 4 Year Localbitcoins Account for Sale on: July 06, 2022, 04:33:44 PM
Looking for a buyer for my LBC account with a trust level score of 30+:
~Snipped~
Price: 0.1BTC (negotiable) via recommended bitcointalk escrow services listed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0
bump
Even if you manage to persuade one of the reputable escrow providers to handle this deal [highly unlikely], it still doesn't change the fact that nothing can stop you from recovering it in the future!
- The bolded part in the first quote "only" gives a false sense of security to potential buyers!
1137  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [OFFER] Testnet bitcoins tBTC on: July 06, 2022, 03:14:39 PM
I guess it's time to restart testnet again.
Amen to that!

Faucets are useless to people who need  a bunch.
I have many to offer for serious dev efforts.
Just because it takes some time to accumulate through faucets, it doesn't make them useless... For normal people, they're more than enough and when it comes to developers who might need larger amounts, they can go with the "Regtest" route instead!

@Canaan Online Shop
Any plans to expand or rather open a warehouse in the MENA region?

We plan to create our own wallet. We need a good name such as bitpay, easypay, coinpay, canpay...
~Snipped~
If the name is related to BTC or our brand Canaan , that will be much more welcome.
You might want to provide more information about your upcoming wallet [e.g. SW or HW, custodial or not and etc...]... Personally, I don't think anything with the word "pay" would be appropriate for a wallet [IMO it's better suited for a payment processor of some sort], so I'm going to suggest the following names instead: CanaanBits, CanaanPurse, PurseyBits, CanaanSuite, Canaandle [brand + handle] and CanaBits.
1139  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which hardware wallet to buy? on: July 06, 2022, 07:12:23 AM
Yes I can imagine there being a few scammers out there, I will be really careful.
It's worth noting that Ledger has also prepared a "bunch of playlists" on their Youtube channel:

e.g.

Is there anything I can do until it arrives or do I just wait?
You might want to visit their "360 library [it has various filters to narrow down the results]".
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mexican senator proposes bill to make Bitcoin legal tender on: July 05, 2022, 06:25:22 AM
67M unbanked will finally have the chance.
Even if the bill passes, a big portion of the unbanked population will remain the same, since the internet penetration rate in Mexico stands at roughly 74% only and I have a strong feeling that most Mexicans with incomes below the poverty line, probably wouldn't use something as volatile as BTCitcoin either.

Airdrop is coming to Mexicans, you think?
I highly doubt they'll do something similar to what President Bukele did in the past.
