221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Less than 80 days until the 4th Ever #Bitcoin Halving on: March 25, 2024, 01:17:20 PM
One thing a lot of us should look out for is the expected dump in value when the halving does arrive. Historically, bitcoin halving dumps are some of if not the harshest crashes in bitcoin prices, with the previous one literally whittling bitcoin down to 3k before it recovered the 10k mark it initially had before the halving. People will both take profit and be disappointed when the halving comes and the price of bitcoin didn't change that much, if you're not ready to succumb to the market's selling pressure by then, I say now's the best time to actually diversify your profits and take the opportunity to buy bitcoin at its possibly lowest price point when it does crash in value. Just saying

One thing of note is that regardless if we sell or not, bitcoin is going to be here forever until we get sick of it or it kicks the digital bucket on itself. So no matter what, crashes are going to be the least of your worries when you're a secured and calculated investor. Take advantage of these moments to actually reap higher benefits instead of riding the panic wave and dumping all your coins cause you just can't take the selling pressure for yourself.

GreenpeaceUSA Was Paid By Ripple To Attack Bitcoin

https://cryptodaily.co.uk/news-in-crypto/bitcoinik:greenpeaceusa-was-paid-by-ripple-to-attack-bitcoin-really#:~:text=In%20March%202022%2C%20Ripple%20joined,million%20to%20run%20that%20campaign.

This is the person https://twitter.com/chrislarsensf who spend more than 5M$ to attack bitcoin. Problem is he work for a multi billion $ company Ripple, Imagine if Ripple with billion of $ want to attack to btc.
You can at least go on that person's twitter and tell them what they deserve, link:  https://twitter.com/chrislarsensf

as many have already said, no amount of propaganda or virtue signaling is gonna put bitcoin down in the number one spot, at least not anytime soon. Bitcoin has claimed its throne amidst the adversity, especially during the years of 2014-2015 when it's literally anybody's game and bitcoin's name isn't more famous as say, Ethereum or other cryptocurrencies at the time. And I don't need to tell you how secured bitcoin was right now that they could afford to tank a lot of these propaganda articles without so much as a scratch on its coin valuation. They are gucci so to speak.

Ripple on the other hand has been trying its hardest to claim some sort of spot in the upper echelons of the crypto community. Unfortunately, the only thing that XRP ever claimed throughout its lifetime are shame and allegations as a lot of people in the past have strayed away from XRP denoting its ponzi-like setup, meanwhile bitcoin has practically beaten the ponzi allegations for itself.

So yeah, nobody's afraid of this, no one's gonna believe in green peace and nobody has believed in them for a very long time now after they literally focused on pandas instead of preservation of much more worthy wildlife out there. Bad call from XRP if this was true too lol.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is saving screenshots of useful information and BTC transactions? on: March 24, 2024, 11:17:04 PM
I have a friend who likes taking screenshot so much that he would take a screenshot of even payment transactions from banking apps and large or small bet winnings. I don't know if he loved to brag with it, but he won lots of arguments with real traders and sellers who accept transfers and claim to have not received it.

Sometime last week, we were having a chat and he mentioned how he wants to buy BTC and become a trader and HoDLer as he makes profit along the way. He said he had been learning on his own by watching YouTube videos and from his colleagues in the office.
I just knew then that he had already done so, and upon further chat, he already did because he wouldn't really tell me what he's up to until he has done it, that's how I have known him for long. He is still oblivious of my membership here, although I would tell him somewhere on his trading journey.

I am concerned now however about his screenshot taking habit, because it would be more problems for him if his phone falls into wrong hands and they see screenshots of Bitcoin transactions mostly.
He may have provided the information or data needed by the wrong hands or It can be assumed that he has so much and who knows what ills can come from thoughts like that.

* My question is, how safe is it to keep screenshots of Bitcoin/crypto transactions and useful information, on ones device?

* How do I go about letting my friend know about such a habit of taking and keeping screenshots on his device that I have observed and warn him about it, without looking like I sense bad days coming?
If you're not going out there and posting it publicly, it's rather safe and secure. One thing that you must take note of is that nowadays, phones are fucking secure, and mobile wallets are as well, as long as you don't go out of your own way to make mistakes you shouldn't and lose your access, sending screenshots and transaction receipts included.

Taking screenshots as references for your payments is a must if I you'll ask me, it allows you to keep a good record of transactions you have made and most especially in the crypto scene since sometimes transaction hashes just wouldn't cut it, and as I said earlier, as long as you don't go out of your own way to let people who don't have any business with your transactions get a hold of these information, you should be good to go.

If he's using an iPhone, even more secure, most IOS devices right now are literally uncrackable especially if they use devices that are newest versions. So all the more reasons for you to really put yourself at ease cause your friend's secured.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: in future are you hoping to see some countries in Africa legalis bitcoin. on: March 24, 2024, 11:00:50 PM
bitcoin is a future digital currency, i strongly believes that before BTC celebrate 50 years in existence at least one or two African countries is going to legalis it. because block chain network is expanding every day by day. and most of the countries in Africa have the knowledge BTC how it works.
Africans are definitely ripe for the bitcoin takeover. In the past countries like Nigeria have shown respect and massive interest in acquiring bitcoin as a means of financial backup and sometimes even financial option for them, given the fact that bitcoin can literally 0 to 100 you in a matter of days or weeks.

If all it takes for the entire African continent to be bitcoin-friendly is a little push from the outside world, I'm pretty sure the industry and the community wouldn't mind giving you guys that little oomph in support and love, and may even provide you with real tangible assistance to mobilize your plans for bitcoin adoption in a much faster and more efficient ways.

Africa also gets sun all year-round, allowing them to mine cryptocurrencies without issue against environmental destruction or oil fees since the sun is a renewable source of energy and it's so accessible, Africa has got all the things that it needs to start this bitcoin revolution within their territories, all they really need is a solid plan that unites them together, and they should be good to go.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Blocksize War is still ongoing. on: March 24, 2024, 10:47:10 PM
The custodial path is the wrong way.
-----
One of Bitcoin’s strengths lies in the certainty of controlling one’s own funds, with no possibility for others to access them unless they possess the private keys to do so.

During the Blocksize Wars, two distinct factions emerged, represented by equally distinct chains. After the recent end of the Faketoshi saga, only Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash remain from all the noise of those years.
At first glance, it seems that the first faction, Bitcoin, has chosen the long-term path—one where the base layer cannot scale and must ossify to remain secure and decentralized. Meanwhile, the second faction, Bitcoin Cash, has opted for a shorter route—a path where the base layer can scale and adapt more easily, allowing immediate use by all users
In my view, neither of these choices can be definitively labeled as long-term or short-term. If we examine the details closely, developing suitable subsequent layers takes time, but building mass adoption on the base layer requires just as much effort.
-----
I have one certainty: the custodial path is the wrong way, and turning a blind eye could prove fatal.

Currently, on-chain transactions with Bitcoin are still feasible for moderate amounts, but they are prohibitive for smaller sums. Mathematically, fees are destined to increase. Following this trajectory, it’s logical to assume that in the future, we will conduct most transactions on subsequent layers while keeping savings on-chain. Alternatively, we might transform the current system into a slower one, where instead of buying a low-quality pair of jeans each month, to avoid fees we opt for a high-quality pair once a year. However, taking the path of layers 2, 3, and beyond would be in vain.

It’s crucial not to let these subsequent layers become mere copies of the current system. Lightning Network is an excellent system, but I cannot truly claim to always possess my funds. Doing so would be far from simple, and I end up relying on someone else. Liquid is cost-effective, and I hold my private keys, but the system is controlled by a few companies. Bitcoin Cash scales, and I have my private keys; I don’t need to trust anyone. However, the mining incentive and fees are near to negligible, making the network vulnerable to attacks.

Make no mistake, Bitcoin works. It is the greatest revolutionary act of the century—a tool that will serve humanity’s evolution. However, we must have vision, think about the future and the next generations. Let’s pause for a moment and take the truly challenging path, perhaps the best but the longest, to make the system entirely uncensorable.
Don’t assume that the solutions we have today are definitive. The upgrade to Bitcoin’s source code that will lead to its victory is yet to come, and it will happen gradually, with total consensus. No, no altcoin will bring about this revolution. Bitcoin’s functionality makes it the only usable tool to achieve our purpose.
Because the issue that the blocksize war brings isn't something that you can just fix in a single day, people will always disagree on things if they were given the chance, moreso if they have made sound points about their cases. This is the case for the blocksize war. On one hand you have the purists who wanted the blocks to remain at a single megabyte, while they know this means that bitcoin's scalability is in shambles, it also means that they can secure bitcoin and shield it from getting tarnished, with the possibility of even losing bitcoin to hackers, and of course against people who see bitcoin as nothing but a cashcow which they would use for their personal gain.

on the other hand, bitcoin needed this scalability so badly if they wanted to have a shot at breaking it globally. It's bad enough that bitcoin's got a bad wrap at the people, it would be even worse if people are pushed away by the fact that you can't use bitcoin without tanking huge fees and slow wait times that sometimes take days.

I'm all for what makes bitcoin better and accessible to the public really. Even if it means we gotta do some massive bitcoin makeover.
226  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving don't make wealth on: March 24, 2024, 10:31:33 PM
Sincerely the concept of savings has made some persons poor, but many won't realize the fact that saving don't make the difference but investing does.
Am not saying saving isn't good, but my point is saving doesn't make one wealthy, the worst advice we recieve is  'save for tomorrow' but only few lay emphasis on the need to 'invest for tomorrow'.
So I would greatly say we invest some of our profits from bitcoin in to other stuff, than just holding it or using it for pleasure. The rare truth is how we believe bitcoin can change the game, so other systems are developing so we shouldn't be blindfolded.
Invest because savings doesn't increase or builds, investing is what gives you the life you want.
   Let discuss this guys..
No matter how many bitcoin you hold you can still misuse the money, so we should understand the concept of Richness and Wealth.

Saving is definitely good, but as you have implied it's not the answer to everything, especially if you're looking to build wealth. Making your money work for you is going to be the best way for you to slowly but surely earn that millions of dollars, and as I keep saying it doesn't even have to come from crypto, there's a large selection of choice, from stocks to bonds and even real estate! There's a plethora of choices for you to start your financial journey.

If you're looking to save, let it be for an emergency, or to prepare for a massive purchase you are looking to secure. Saving works best when it's planned ahead and not done for the hell of it cause when you have a clear goal in mind, you're set to it and you won't let feeble distractions stray you from the path you are looking.

And if you have the opportunity and the financial capacity to, look into saving as well as investing all at the same time, having both of these ensures that you are secured in every financial aspect of your life, for the unthinkable and the foreseeable future.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Always check the deposit address on: March 24, 2024, 10:10:52 PM
This is not new warning but I think people might need to be reminded about this after experiencing this personally just now. I recently made a loan using a casino wallet address, I check the wallet address if it’s the same before I ask the loan and I confirmed that it was the same.

The problem comes when the loan is already sent while my casino wallet address update right after the loan amount sent. Take note that I’m using same wallet address since I play to this casino for about 3 years and they just update my wallet address some time after I post my loan request here.

To make the story short. The balance is not credited but after a lengthy discussion with the support and after sending proof that my old wallet address is still the same when I made the deposit(loan) then they recover my funds out of good will.

The lesson here is always check the wallet address before you deposit no matter how long do you use the same address. Most importantly don’t use casino wallet address to receive funds that has a delay such as loan money and campaign payments since there’s a chance that they will update their wallet address without prior notice. Keep safe and have fun.
Good story and all that, but let me share a story of mine as well lol. Didn't particularly happen to me because of gambling but almost happened while I was trying to swap cryptos in between exchanges (binance to my phantom wallet and then jupiter), I didn't notice that I had my crypto from Solana and almost sent it to a wrong deposit address (Binance gives you the option of either sending Solana coins in a BEP20 exchange, or through Solana classic deposit address), I had double tapped on BEP20 and honestly didn't know if it would go through but luckily I was able to not press the yellow button of confirmation, saving me from a probable loss of a couple hundred dollars in crypto I would've used to make bets in.

Also happened to a friend of mine in the past here, he got clowned by oldies in this forum as he mistakenly copied the address of someone from the forum while trying to copy the format of the signature campaign application. People are so quick to call that out (and as they should) but it was evident it was an honest mistake.

Be very careful of your deposit addresses whether you're gambling or not, it's very easy to lose your money in here by mispressing a button or sending the wrong address. Don't be a cautionary tale.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: March 24, 2024, 09:55:59 PM
If anyone ever cared about VCT circuit here particularly the ongoing (and now just concluded) VCT Masters set in Madrid, Sentinels just won their second trophy in this particular series, beating the powerhouse Gen G. of Korea in one of the most hyped out matches in the history of this game.

It's worth noting that two of their Ace players, TenZ from CSGO and Sacy won 2 international Valorant Championships already, but the victory tastes the sweetest for TenZ after falling off in the hearts of many a Valorant fan when they lost their succeeding matches after their Reykjavik win. Zekken snagged the MVP tag as well after landing a solid 360+ combat score with a staggering 4.0 KDA (AFAIK). This team is insane and it's been a long while since I was this hyped from watching eSports games.

Suggest that you guys watch more of these games apart from the intent of seeing whether your bets/parlays secured but oh well.
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 24, 2024, 09:46:42 PM
Hi community,

When we make a bet and put our money on the line, we may lose money, time, and even some daily tasks that we neglect, and the first goal remains to make a quick profit with the largest possible amount of money, but I do not know why some people consider bets to be more  for fun  and a way to spend time than to win money.

Personally, I would consider it fun when my budget is much greater than my losses or when I gamble with someone else's money, and this is something I would not do if I had no benefit in it.

I think there are those who agree with me and those who do not agree with me, but it remains my personal opinion and it's an opportunity to share it with you on this topic.

So where's the fun when you lose your money?
When you watch a team you're rooting for, when you play a game that is so crucial you're quaking in your boots with anticipation and excitement from the adrenaline rush hoping your skill, and your nerves are enough to get you through the thick of it. That's when you have fun while gambling and losing, I mean at least for me personally.

I couldn't lie, frustration is there when I lose bets and gambles, but the nerves that I get from playing (and must I say, I only play a max of 5 games every time I gamble so don't call me out for being a gambling addict lol) is enough for me to get through it with no regrets or even remnants of looking to regain the losses I incurred. I live for the present, and that includes when I gamble. I think people should take a page out of my book. Make it so your games are hyped even if you're not really betting that much or for a lot. Trick yourself into thinking that every bet you make is high stakes, as not everyone of us here could make as high a bet as I could. When you do that, all your games are gonna be enjoyable even when you don't win them. Oh, and one more thing, don't make it a habit to gamble everyday, schedule your gamble as scarcely as you can.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: March 23, 2024, 11:41:36 PM

I advise everyone to see this video, I'm not related to this person, but I can relate to his stories and the gambling addiction that most of us could have been suffering for years. This is the second video that I have been watching and they say the same things. Not just money they lose, but time and relationship. The other video that I saw that he was not even present with the delivery of his first and second kid, he was done gambling and trying to make money for the hospital bills but it turns out that he losses in both time.

Perhaps you have seen other videos as well and maybe share it here.
Most gambling stories are similar, and start of the same way as everyone else's

It begins with them just playing casually, with some even playing just for the hell of it and not really because they want to earn money or something. And then they lose, which makes them frustrated and hungry to take back whatever they lost and win some more in the process. It pushes them to spend more, and more, and even more until such a time happens when they find themselves revenge gambling not only their initial bankroll, but even their savings, money they owed from someone else, and even more.

By the time they realize they have been addicted to gambling, they think it's too late and the guilt and shame of losing everything over a stupid thing makes them commit to it even more, instead of stopping and quitting gambling by the instance they realize shit just got real, they play some more in hopes of getting that bag that will never come, and it never comes.

The cycle continues until they finally stand up for themselves or die, that's the gambling addiction story. That's how it goes for everyone. Now, do you want to be a cautionary tale, or do you want to discipline yourself from gambling too much? Make the choice before gambling does it for you.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: March 23, 2024, 11:27:19 PM
The next bet and how much I'm gonna gain from it most of the time and obviously. I mean I think even people who doesn't gamble for the profit like me, assumes and imagines how much they are going to gain from the bet they just made, just to inspire and rile them into betting more. It's just a normal thing and is not entirely wrong in a manner of speaking.

I'm a baller by nature and with that in mind I am always up for betting more or betting large. I don't mind losing since I am on a budget when I gamble and it's separate from my living expenses so I don't really lose much in a sense. Although of course, I wouldn't mind winning as much as I could which ends up making me bet more than the normal or the average gambler's expense. At the end of the day I make sure I don't lose my shit when I gamble and lose, and I always keep myself in check with every bet to know if I could still go or not, so I don't really worry about revenge gambling or any of that shit.

When you're at a secure position in your life there is nothing that would worry you. Gambling for entertainment and instilling a sense of discipline upon myself allowed me to achieve this state and it's all I'm really thankful for.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 23, 2024, 11:07:53 PM
A friend, (doesn't stay close to me) called me up on the phone this morning, I was surprised to see his call since it's been a while we Last spoke to each other, and talking to him again on the phone was the last thing on my mind, and Answered the call and we greeted as usual.
He went on to ask me for financial assistance, that he is totally broke and have asked all his friends who are close by, and non of them agreed they have enough so as to lend him some money, he went on to tell me that I am his last hope, that he wouldn't have bothered me if he had anyone else to call or turn to.

I asked him what happened? What the sudden need for financial assistance? He tried lying (I noticed from his turn) but later, he opened tell me that he had some funds on him which could possibly have sustained him until this month ending to get his salary, but he didn't know what came over him, he went to a casino last night and in the process of trying out one and two games, he gambled and lost every single penny on him, and now, he has nothing to fall back on for the few days remaining before he gets his salary for the month of March.

Long story short, I wasn't going to help him, most especially for the fact his a single guy, but out of pity, I later lended him $20.

But then, this got me wondering why a full grown person will gamble until he or she has no money left in his or her bank account, and no cash at hand, I personally have on several occasions gambled away every single cash I had at hand, but I always had some money in the bank to fall back on, together with my family.

I am just wondering if anyone here have ever been in a similar situation before? That is, gambling until you are completely broke with nothing to fall back on?
No money in the bank, no cash in the hand, what did you do?

Or maybe gambled until you are one bet away from going broke (if you lose), do you go ahead and risk the money, or cancel the bet and  keep that money for something more important?
Anyone who only knows you when they are in desperate times isn't worthy of a sliver of help from you, regardless of whatever they have going for them. And I'm not in any of that altruistic shit since living right now is financially taxing and difficult so I can't be sparing some change for someone who wouldn't do the same thing for me at the end of the day.

Even more when they are asking for your help after they just splurged all their money on a fucking casino night, nuh-uh. They for sure have other options that they could rely upon and only saw you as a leeway cause they probably know you have some money on you since you're dabbling in crypto, all the more reasons to not let people know how much you make and how much money you got no matter what. Good for you, it's not about teaching people a lesson, it's about letting them sit on the bed they made and realizing just how difficult living is when you don't have money, and when you don't play your cards nicely. Be diligent and prudent, if you can't then don't go asking people for help when you're down in your luck. Simple as it is.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 23, 2024, 10:48:59 PM
Hi community,

I remember when I was in middle school, we used to play cards almost every day, and our stupidity reached the point where we would skip classes while we were inside school. The method of playing was easy, as the largest number was the winning card. So, some of my friends and I would gather in the middle school bathroom and make bets with the money that we had collected  from selling cigarettes.
Of course, this is not something I am proud of and I do not recommend it to everyone, but it's just childhood memories .

-Have you ever bet at the wrong place and the wrong time?
Well, a lot of my friends during the pandemic until 2021 introduced me to online gambling, and not only will we gamble simultaneously, we'll also play with the intent of becoming the top guy who gets the most prizes, as we have a different leaderboard with its dedicated bragging rights and prize pool in there as well. So think of it as competitive gambling among friends.

Eventually by trying to outdo everyone else and win the top of the leaderboards since one thing about me is that I am a very competitive player and as much as possible I will always do everything in my power if it means I can secure a win for myself, I not only managed to dry up my bankroll, but I also harbored gambling addiction while my friends think of it as nothing but our own little way to stay connected and social even when we can't meet in person. It got to a point where I had to quit gambling for a long while and actually rehabilitate myself which luckily worked out for the better.

Not remotely stupid or crazy but is certainly up there. if I do say so myself.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling : Next Generation Challenges on: March 23, 2024, 10:33:47 PM
A Panel here says that the next generation of online gambling will be more social, engaged and targeted.

This was discussed in the Next.io conference held in New York. They said that online gambling will be more targeted and at the same time it become more of a social activity. Right now we see that an online gambler is gambling in solo with no social connections but this could change in future.

The online gambling companies have to reform themselves as this will be a new demand from the young generation who are coming to online gambling and they need socialization also while gambling (like we used to have in physical gambling).

Good news, but I honestly couldn't think of ways to make online gambling even more social than it is right now. And I'm not saying that online gambling as it stands today is social as it is, cause it is fucking isolated matter of fact even with the chathub and all that features. I'm just puzzled as to how they can make this happen.

There's a lot of limitations and hurdles to overcome if they wanted to make gambling as social as possible, one thing is making sure that the identity and personal space of their users aren't overtaken or abused. As we all know people will always find ways to overstay their welcome and abuse the very little power they are given, if that is a risk they are willing to take all for the name of socialization, then I don't know anymore. Plus I think the bigger problem in the picture is the fact that most of the gambling people right now do not feel as if they are enjoying the games they play. Most of the games you could play at an online casino are cookie-cut variants of the same genre/type of game, oftentimes with little to no distinction besides the graphics. I think that's a more pressing issue they need to take a look at against something that is a little too impossible to fix really.

235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your take? on: March 23, 2024, 10:18:49 PM
My topic is based on those who are majorly into sports betting, we know in this aspect of gambling it is very risky to predict the outcome of any game from both teams to score, over and under, straight win and many more. Most times we bet on the big teams to win and the reverse becomes the result, either the small teams securing the win or ending in a draw.

Straight to the point most people are afraid of compiling big odds and now decide to go for lower odds with huge staking power which is not even guaranteed to give the predicted results. For example, there could be a match between Newcastle VS Tottenham Hotspur and both teams are having 1.5 and 1.3 odds respectively, a gambler may decide to bet only on Tottenham to straight win by only selecting this one game on his slip, what is your take on this kind of gambling, risking bigger money on some low odds with a small potential win and still the possibility of your pick to win is not even certain.

Honestly I couldn't care for how much the odds are, although of course as a big bag baller myself I oftentimes find myself betting on larger odds for larger wins, but if I were to be held at gunpoint and be asked to choose between safe plays and larger odds, I wouldn't really have much of a distinction between the two and I'd end up getting shot lol.

But in all seriousness, I don't see how different and bad playing larger odds is against playing small odds or whatever, at the end of the day you're still gambling, and if you're bound to gamble on a fixed budget, chances are you're still going to spend the money anyway, you're just stalling to make the money last longer, and that's not bad either.

I'm all for every type of gambling/betting playstyle and I wouldn't really have much to say against them, I can play both and you wouldn't hear me complain. As long as the gambler, or in this case, me, is gambling with a sound mind and a setup that couldn't be broken by back-to-back losses, I can play without much trouble.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can bring positivity and light into people's lives on: March 23, 2024, 10:03:22 PM
While gambling is often associated with negative consequences, there are instances where it has brought positivity and light into people's lives. Here are a few cases:

1.Winning Life-Changing Prizes: For some individuals, a significant win in gambling can change their lives for the better. There are numerous stories of people winning large jackpots in lotteries or casinos, allowing them to
pay off debts, support their families, start businesses, or pursue lifelong dreams. These instances of financial windfalls can bring newfound stability, happiness, and opportunities into the lives of winners.

1. Bonding and Socialization: For many, gambling serves as a form of entertainment and socialization. Whether it's a friendly poker game among friends, a night out at the casino with loved ones, or participating in
community bingo events, gambling can foster bonds and create lasting memories. These social interactions can improve mental well-being, reduce stress, and strengthen relationships.

3. Boosting Confidence and Skill Development: In games of skill like poker or blackjack, success often relies on strategy, calculation, and decision-making. Some individuals find that mastering these games boosts their
confidence and sharpens their analytical skills. Additionally, achieving success in competitive gambling can instill a sense of accomplishment and pride, leading to improved self-esteem and personal growth.

4.Supporting Charitable Causes: Many gambling activities, such as charity poker tournaments or raffles, are organized to support various charitable causes. Participating in these events allows individuals to enjoy gambling
while also contributing to the betterment of society. Winning in such contexts not only brings joy to the individual but also benefits those in need, thereby spreading positivity within communities.

5. Overcoming Adversity: In rare cases, gambling has served as a means for individuals to overcome adversity or hardship. Some people facing difficult circumstances have turned to gambling as a source of hope or
escapism. While this may not always lead to positive outcomes, there are instances where individuals have used gambling as a catalyst for personal transformation, resilience, and recovery.

It's important to recognize that while gambling can bring light into some people's lives, these instances are not representative of the overall impact of gambling. For many individuals, gambling poses significant risks, including addiction, financial loss, and strained relationships. Therefore, it's essential to approach gambling with caution and moderation, seeking help if it begins to have negative consequences. Smiley

What are your examples of how gambling has positively impacted your lives, and how do these instances contrast with the common negative perceptions surrounding gambling?
Here's a not-so-hot take, everything that gambling could give you, positively for that matter, you could get from something else, or from a different hobby/pastime. Bonding and Socialization? You could literally get that from joining a club, or even taking an outside stroll and talking to random strangers at the park, you could also get that from friends and family! Winning Life-changing prizes? Join a fucking raffle that doesn't require you to put in hours and hours as well as hundreds of dollars to even get a sliver of chance at winning. Plus how is that even a fucking benefit lol, not everything that's great in life is money. Boosting confidence and skill development? Need I say that you could get this just by socializing like a normal human being?

There's literally a lot of reasons to not choose gambling, don't make it as if you could only achieve this thing from spending hundreds of dollars every time you gamble just to achieve these things. Cause at the end of the day, gambling shouldn't be your first choice when choosing a hobby or a pastime to commit yourself to. Be sensible, go outside and touch grass like a normal human being.

I had a friend in the gambling circle,he was gambler addicted person over a year.I had advised him many times, but he is not ready to accept my advice in the gambling.Apart from gambling,my friend accept my advice without any hesitation. When I had a time on weekend,I get a chance to meet him in personal.I had some question about his gambling addiction, but the sad part is he is not accepted his gambling addiction towards the gambling site.

He said that he had nearly 64k dollars as a loss in the gambling site.In order to recover that 64k dollars,he keeps on betting from all his economic resources.I had advice him to use only 20 percentage of salary to get away from entire gambling loss. But he is now repeating the same 100 percentage of income from weekly, biweekly and monthly. So he was in the big loan problem.Still he is arranging funds from loan to play gambling, because he think that the recovery was possible at the place where he lost his money. What will be your suggestion for my friend to recover from the gambling addiction.
Don’t know if you made this up but it’s quite common for these gambling addiction stories to fall into a certain pattern anyway so I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.

With this in mind though perhaps instead of just advising him with vanilla shit, you really show him what’s going on and how he can still save himself from this massive cycle? It’s quite evident that he’s already addicted and is seeing the very reason that he loses money as the only option to get him out of his rut, wich is not a great line of thinking if I do say so myself. In that regard if I were you, I’d push him to seek medical assistance already as this is an advanced case at this point.

Have him be admitted to a rehabilitation center, get him all the help he needs, and do not provoke him to gamble again.

A sad reality of online streaming that also doubles as a gambling promotion is that it can have unknown consequences with its widespread reach. As it recently came to light, a fan of Adin Ross took his own life. The controversy however was much more than just this fact. The controversy stemmed from the fact that Adin Ross' editor, being completely apathetic to these news of a man taking his own life, called it "old news" in a dismissive tone.

Source: https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/news-rip-him-adin-ross-editor-confirms-kick-star-reacted-fan-taking-life-due-gambling-addiction

Adin Ross is one of the most famous streamers in the world right now, with his content having hundreds of thousands of hours in watch time. Of course much of his content is direct promotion to slots games and such gambling. Perhaps Kick should add some limits to how "controversial" a streamer can be in their platform. People like Ross were banned from twitch after maaany violations.

What do you think about this? Do such people deserve a platform even on Kick?
First off, Adin Ross is a massive fuckface that does not deserve any form of respect, mercy, or love from anyone on the planet. You could say the same thing for his editor and the entire red-pilled community that supports behaviors like this.

Secondly, if you’re gonna look or ask for sympathy, you wouldn’t find it with a guy like Adin Ross or his squad of editors and motley crew. They belittle people for breakfast, dismiss massive issues like it’s nothing as long as it doesn’t bring them cash nor fame, and they don’t even harbor respect nor an iota of regard from the very community that they try so hard to fit in.

Sorry to hear about this guy who took his own life out of gambling addiction. This is what I’m talking about when I say your life’s gonna be ruined by gambling in one way or another if you don’t find a way to figure your shit out. Learn how to control yourself, stop seeking for other people’s approval or care, especially if their notice or influence pushed you to this particular situation anyway, and make sure that you control your gambling urges before it controls you.

Personally this is something that I can really get behind. I've been very tired of all the posts in here singling out how certain people post, thinking that theirs was better or that they should be the standard of posting format here in the forum when this forum's been very lenient to everyone, long as they don't spew trash and bullshit. Heck it even came to the point where signature campaign members are being called out for the regular act of posting which is something that even a non-signature member is expected to do in the first place.

We shouldn't even have a real criteria for posts here besides the obvious "don't talk nonsense" and "make your posts" constructive, but every now and again (especially last month) I see people talking about how long posters like me are ruining the forum, or how short posters aren't bringing enough value to the discussion and the forum. Personally you do you, and my real qualms about this topic is just the fact that there's just been a silent divide ever since and I see official posting etiquettes such as what you're trying to propose right here as something that could seriously end the heated discussion so we can move on to topics more deserving of attention.

One of the most frequent errors I encounter on the forum is this one below: An Error Has Occurred! You already submitted this post! You might have accidently double clicked, or tried to refresh.. Despite the error suggesting that I might have double-clicked or refreshed, I typically haven't done so deliberately. Instead, it seems to occur spontaneously, with the comment already posted by the time I check. This tends to happen frequently when replying to topics.

This second error, is my first time to encounter it. Database Error. Please try again. If you come back to this error screen, report the error to an administrator. I'm not particularly tech-savvy, so I'm unsure why this error occurred or what might have caused it. I'm hopeful that someone with more expertise can shed light on the issue.

I experienced the first issue you talked about a lot in the past, and I’m talking around 2016-2017. Since then I think I figured out the formula which is just to not spam the post button afterwards,or having the patience and not refreshing the page when the posting process takes time. Might also look into the specs and life cycle of your PC, as it might also affect that since the more laggy your PC becomes, the more your inputs and commands are gonna be registered slower. Had it happen to me because of that as well, and if that were to be the case for you it's either you buy a new PC and deal with it for good, or get some massive amounts of patience.

The other one, I haven’t experienced a single bit in my life but if I’m allowed to guess that’s got something to do with your internet connection or your device having trouble fetching bitcointalk data, which causes the error to pop up. I would suggest further testing by posting on different fevices so you can discern whether this is an internet issue or a device problem. If it was a device problem the issue could be solved by power cycling your device. If it was the ISP’s restarting the modem routerand calling upon your provider’s going to be the best course of action to take here.
