861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Gambling Sites and Bug/Exploit Reporting and Rewards. on: September 13, 2023, 10:31:50 PM
I see how noble and awesome this may be. But since this means less profit to the gambling site, I don't think they would be so keen as to implement such a feature even if it means that this will drive more users into their casino. For one, it doesn't make sense for them to invest money on coders and bug-catchers when solving simple bugs within the site is as easy as refreshing the website, and automatically refunding the money/wager that the customer has made. Sure this is a huge bummer on the customer's end but at the very least this absolves them from the responsibility of solving these bugs. Another would be the fact that most of these casinos aren't accepting of other people touching their code base. It's so easy to fetch source codes nowadays that you can basically create a derivative of a centralized casino on your own. They knew this much and are afraid of the legal repercussions that they might get tied with if such a situation comes around. So, they just wing their bugs.
862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: September 13, 2023, 09:19:13 PM
<>

Better it would be pushed through and your right that the hype is already on the roof on which i do really have questions in mind on why those promoters or boxing organization wont really be considering out this fight
to happen? Of course it would really be that understandable that they should really be on the same division but totally checking then they are really just that the same.
I did see something interesting here:  https://box.live/fights/inoue-vs-casimero/ . Is this something that shows about those probabilities to be pushed on?

Here are the notable differences in between two.
The stats suggest Inoue would have a large advantage in power over Casimero, boosting at 88% knock out percentage over Casimero's 67%.

Naoya Inoue is the younger man by 3 years, at 30 years old.
Inoue has a height advantage of 1 inch over Casimero.
Both Naoya Inoue & John Riel Casimero fight out of an orthodox stance.

Source

So with these info along then you could really tell on who does have the advantage.

I truly think that because Inoue has the advantage in this fight against Casimero, it is going to be a bigger fight for Casimero, and if he can actually give his opponent a close competition, which is going to be appreciated by a lot of people. And in the movies we see a line being thrown around, "he did not win the fight, but he did win the hearts of people". Probably something like that is going to happen if Casimero can take this close. But with the knockout power that Inoue has, it is not going to be surprising to see Casimero get knocked out. But that fight has to get arranged in the first place. I think this is the right time when the fight should be arranged. If they are late, they might kill the hype.

The possibility for the fight to happen depends on how fans will try to bring the hype to the promoters. They both need to win with their respective upcoming fight, then start to talk about the possibility.

I think all that opinion and speculation can only be concluded once they are already inside the ring
fighting each other, for now, we can just bring our opinion and favor who we think that have the
advantage according to their past fights and stats.
Isn't this fight already decided from the get-go? Plus what about the fight against Tapales? I'm pretty sure that's still in the works (I haven't been updated in the latest boxing news and updates as I got very busy so fill me in if you can), and if it were to be canned that's going to be a major issue on Tapales' camp since they prepared for this fight and, even though at a massive disadvantage, is hoping to snatch the crown from Inoue. If they'd ditch the bout in exchange for a fight against Casimero when we already know what the answer would be given how weak Casimero's work ethic is, a lot of people who are looking to see a rising star face against an established fighter will be very upset. I say let this fight start and talk about Casimero-Inoue after.
863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australia will ban Gambling through credit cards on: September 13, 2023, 08:48:11 PM
Sportsbet already took the initiative towards this move. If I'm not mistaken they already started barring people from funding their accounts with credit cards. I think this is a monumental approach and move towards a safer and more responsible gambling within Australia that I believe the rest of the world should emulate. When someone who's not accustomed to gambling responsibly is given such uncontrolled power as a credit card, they go overboard. Overdrafting themselves since they believe they can pay off the debt anyway when they get their big win. But the big win will never come, they'll lose more and more until shit hits the fan and they are left with a negative balance tehy can't pay off due to the staggering amount of it.
864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker strategies on: September 13, 2023, 08:17:51 PM
To improve poker game. One must know the basics of how to play poker game. Study poker strategies, different hands in poker, probabilities. Practice reading opponents. Alot of patience and clamness. It involves both skills psychological and risk management.
Easier said than done, and besides every poker player knows this and anyone who took the time to learn the game fundamentally knows for sure that this is the way to go. What OP requires is a concrete strategy that amps his win rate without using any form of cheating or whatnot.  In my case back when I was heavy with Poker, is just playing aggressively. I call everyone and this especially works when you are used to playing less cards or with a smaller hand. It paints the impression that you're either calling everyone to which they could either retaliate or accept the challenge. Either way you can guarantee a larger percentage of win since not a lot of people expect aggressive plays especially since the pulse of the game right now is mostly based upon "playing the slow and steady matchup".
865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Manage Your Adrenaline Rush In Gambling? on: September 12, 2023, 11:02:41 PM
I personally chase that even. I know it's a little stupid coming from someone who proclaims himself as "responsible when it comes to gambling" but hear me out. I only gamble on a budget, I never go beyond my means and when I gamble, I only do it for fun. If I end up with a net win I usually just treat myself to something nice and nothing else. So when I say I chase the adrenaline when I am gambling, I say that with a positive outlook given the fact that all I'm looking for when gambling is entertainment.

So yeah, some people manage it, some people don't. Nothing wrong about it really, as long as you don't go beyond the limits you have set upon yourself when gambling like how many hours you should gamble, or how much you're allowed to gamble for that matter, you should be good to go.
866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 12, 2023, 10:19:19 PM
Of course there's the obvious stuff like playing in more interactive settings and scenarios when it comes to gambling in brick and mortar casinos while with online variants, you don't get to immerse yourself as much. There's also the limited access to games since you're pretty much only able to play with games that the casino offers, with online gambling you can choose from different casinos for games and if you don't find a game you're looking for in a particular site, you can just move to a different online casino, you can't really do the same thing when playing in a real-life casino.

I also noticed that house cuts are also particularly higher with brick and mortar casinos, probably because the costs of upkeep are high when you're literally taking building, rent, and possibly other business costs into account.
867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly wagers in Bitcointalk on: September 12, 2023, 09:52:43 PM
Some gambling sites here made their own friendly wager threads to I guess advertise their sites as well and all that. I don't think it's inherently bad to do so but some people in here have made wagers with other forum members in the past and failed to pay up when they lost, so the act is not necessarily well-accepted in the forum as it was in the past. In any case, you might wanna take a look at Stake's pages and threads, as well as other casinos like Rollbit for threads like these, you can't just come up to someone from the forum with a message asking them to make a wager with you after all. So you gotta do it the established way and look for other people who are already searching for someone to make a wager with.
868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approach? on: September 12, 2023, 09:25:08 PM
When I gamble, I don't really look for how much my bankroll is cause for the most part it's already either accounted for, or budgeted nicely. In that regard, For the hell of it and the thrill I suppose I can pick having a small capital with big risks over big capitals with lesser risks since I find high-stakes games more enjoyable than monotonous linear ones. To me who personally mastered the art of gambling responsibly, I could easily stop and control myself soon as I lose my bankroll, and if in the unfortunate event that I do lose my bankroll I think I'll just wing it and move on. But the fact that I could get more out of my small bankroll with the caveat (which is not that really much of a caveat anyway) of having a larger risk percentage is what really keeps me going.
869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Owner of 8K bitcoin lost in landfill threatens to bankrupt local council on: September 11, 2023, 05:55:18 PM
Bro is Sisyphus but in reverse lol. He knows deep in his heart of hearts that the ordeal was an impossible one, and even if he were able to claim the hard drive, it doesn't really mean anything since for sure the data is already corrupted from all the rust and stuff that it must've collected over the years. It's honestly just depressing at this point to receive updates from him since he's basically what we don't want to be—Someone who's stuck up on his past, so much that he's making stupid and belligerent acts in the name of bitcoin.

He could've worked his way out of 8000 bitcoins with the time that he's had since 2016, what is he doing instead? Spend unnecessary amount of money over fruitless work.
870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Preparations for BTC Halving and bull market on: September 11, 2023, 05:44:54 PM
The biggest misconception about the bitcoin halving is that it's automatically going to ensue a bull run. The rewards being cut down in half as well as the discoverable supply is good and all that but taking 2020 for example, it's not necessarily enough to put bitcoin at a much better spot.

There are a lot of things at play that would cause bitcoin to increase in value besides the halving, if you'll ask me it's the least of the things that could really affect the people's disposition towards bitcoin. Let's hope a chain reaction happens or something, much like what happened during the best halving as of yet to put us in a more secure situation, otherwise I guess let's just work with what we have lol.
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We Are To Turn Bitcoin into a Global payment Network - Former PayPal President on: September 11, 2023, 05:33:51 PM
Bitcoin is already a global payment system, what are they trying to do differently here?

I don't think anyone who's a CEO of a (let's at least give it to them) successful but clearly inferior and outdated payment system's got anything valuable to impart over a cryptocurrency who has proven itself time and time again to be a better payment and remittance system than even the digital payment processing systems we got at the moment in the fiat side of the planet. He needs to chill lol. Bitcoin is in its own lane and it's already one thing to pull it into the paypal which arguably didn't really sit well with both avid paypal users as well as bitcoin users since they don't really employ the blockchain technology in the equation but instead is offering what could only be described as "a stablecoin pegged to bitcoin", saying useless stuff like this isn't going to push people back to their sides lol.
872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government vs Bitcoin on: September 11, 2023, 05:21:57 PM
I think the main reason is Cryptocurrencies can be used to hide assets and income, making it challenging for governments to collect taxes. This could potentially reduce government revenue, which they rely on for public services and infrastructure.
you have a point but that's not necessarily the reason why the governments around the planet aren't so keen about accepting bitcoin and cryptocurrencies for that matter. It's the fact that most of them are decentralized and to them "unruly" that really grinds the government's gears. They can't control the currency even if their whole lives/systems depended on it, so it's either they allow bitcoin to operate within the country willy-nilly, or they ban it so they don't have to deal with the legal repercussions if bitcoin was used for anything than what it was initially intended for.

Anywho, it's always going to be the people who will decide whether bitcoin is to remain operational or not, some countries may ban bitcoin outright without asking the public's opinion but democracy is a thing in almost every country, and unless everyone unanimously agreed that bitcoin's no good, we can rest assured that it will persist and exist.
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hope is all I have left on: September 11, 2023, 05:10:15 PM
Dollar-costing bitcoin doesn't have to be very hard for you. One of the greatest things about this strategy is the fact that you can tailor-fit it to your needs and current state. If you couldn't do so much as to invest a dollar in regular intervals I'd say it's either too impossible since who doesn't got that extra dollar lying around that they can save until their next DCA interval? but that's a little harsh and not really sympathetic of what your true situation could really be, so let me just say that you might want to once again tailor-fit your DCA strat to whatever you can do. I kid you not when I say that even a dollar every month is something, since it still sets you up for success come the bull run season. It's all just about the proper mindset and the plan to pair it with. Don't lose hope and don't lose vision my friend.
874  Economy / Economics / Re: Economics 101. Stagflation. on: September 11, 2023, 04:53:54 PM
Pretty counterintuitive if you ask me but it definitely happens.

In commerce I think this happens the most when a newly-introduced product in the market was so groundbreaking it's making other older variants of the same product useless. Since nobody's using these products anymore let alone buying them, the supply is flooded with newly-produced products that are not accounted for especially when the market change was so sudden everyone was blindsided. This increase in price along with the lessening interest of the people for this particular product, contribute to a stagnating/deflating value of the product in question.

It would've been really nice if everything's just deflationary in value and in nature yeah? But that wouldn't really sit well with the laws of physics as well as the law of supply and demand, so we're stuck here creating mental gymnastics over concepts that don't make sense at first glance but are a great factor for why our whole economy's collapsing lol.
875  Economy / Economics / Re: On Apple's $200 billion dump and US shooting itself in the foot on: September 10, 2023, 11:50:14 PM
Point taken. In my opinion the US has been very complacent over the years, power drunk from the fact that no other country in the past was able to keep up with it despite the predictions that China could outgrow it in the future. This led them to sanction and dismiss every other "third world country" beyond the US borders as something inferior to them, which definitely struck them back with overwhelming force. Japan has done this to them in the past with the monopoly of Japanese tech products taking over the US consumer base, they weren't able to understand and look introspectively into this for some reason and now they are suffering the consequences, and right during one of their worst economic situations yet too. It's time that we see another Superpower to the table. maybe give the US a reality check that capitalism doesn't breed competition anymore, it's breeding oligarchy and the death of commerce.
876  Economy / Economics / Re: What did elon do wrong in Twitter on: September 10, 2023, 11:32:04 PM
A lot. As many people have already mentioned, Elon Musk was kind of forced into buying twitter, he initially joked about it, which the whole executive board of twitter, dying as they know the platform is, called him out upon and made him buy the site.

Twitter is already dying even before Elon came in, he just made it more apparent and even forced people into paying for a dying and bleeding platform just so he can cut back on his losses. Twitter blue that was supposed to not even be paid and only exclusive to people who are recognized worldwide suddenly became easily accessible leading to chaos and panic ensuing, a couple of other shenanigans like actually changing Twitter to X all because of a shtick he couldn't let go ever since his early days at paypal, and a lot more that I just can't list cause it's going to take us a whole day to finish.

Elon Musk may not have killed Twitter, but he's going to be the catalyst to its end. There's just no better alternative to it as of this moment cause Threads is basically useless and Mastodon is more on the crypto side of the spectrum which is not necessarily something that sits well with all people, but soon as one comes up it's going to be over for the blue bird or in this case, the black X.
877  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are stable coins free from SEC ? on: September 10, 2023, 10:48:07 PM
In a sense they are backed by fiat, which at the same time are currencies they are able to control. For that matter, since they can regulate the parent currency and pretty much control the stable coin they can basically control the stablecoin, which means they don't need to ban it for that matter. At the end of the day, stablecoins besides supporting the staking community of the cryptocurrency world and at the same time those p2p peeps, they don't hold that much bearing after all. What we should be worried about is the fact that they are not allowing altcoins to flourish which is arguably more important than stablecoins itself. If this keeps up this will literally kill cryptocurrencies in the US, regardless if bitcoin is allowed in it or not.
878  Economy / Economics / Re: Building wealth it's not just one time Luck on: September 10, 2023, 10:26:27 PM
Had a friend who experienced an identity crisis last year after one of the worst bear runs in the market. He didn't particularly suffer from it as he was prudent enough to make sure that his assets and wealth is safe, but at the same time being someone who's a visionary in the industry, continuously dishing out content for a time which went successful but all of a sudden experienced one of the worst droughts on both the creative and the audience department. He experienced one of the worst imposter syndrome episodes of his life. But what he failed to realize was that, prior to this he lost everything too, he won big in the 2016 bull run, lost it all, and then came back up and went stronger than ever before come the second bull run. That's something that even luck couldn't have accounted for.
879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do we benefit in lies in forum on: September 10, 2023, 09:57:10 PM
Merit fishing primarily. These people spin "vaguely-relatable" stories and narratives that they make out to be either an experience of theirs or an experience of someone in their circle. While it's not inherently bad since after all, they impart really nice stories for one and at the same time they're not really spreading "misinformation" since most of the stories they spin are either cautionary tales or informative and descriptive, it's still lies being said and I get why you'd be upset about it. Anywho, let's just wing it for now, no one's meriting these people anyway lol, and the mods are great at cracking down posts that are not that contributive to the whole narrative of the forum. So let them have it for now, the forum needs a couple court jesters anyway lol (no offense to these people)
880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does an online Foodbetting site sound? on: September 08, 2023, 10:17:16 PM
The most remote idea I have of a food betting is betting on who's getting crossed out on cooking shows or who's going to win.

How does foodbetting work anyway? it's not everyday that there's a competitive eating competition running amuck, let alone a site that promotes competitive eating in the first place. It's also worth noting that this is a niche gambling derivative that not a lot of people are really into. So it's not like it's going to blow up on the mainstream. While the idea is great in my opinion and it could have potential if foodbetting branches out to more than just competitive eating, stagnating it to a single game to bet on is not going to be helpful in making sure that the whole concept flourishes.
