1021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin recover even if it fell to one dollar? on: August 06, 2023, 10:11:47 PM
There's no question about bitcoin's tendency to recover from even the worst valuations over its life, the question should be about if bitcoin would even go so low as to be valued to a single dollar. Volatile as bitcoin may be, for it to drop in that low of a value there has to be a global financial collapse in the cryptocurrency industry that would cause people to literally dip 99% of their investments and move it to somewhere else. We all know how improbable that could be considering the fact that more and more countries nowadays are becoming more accepting of the idea of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies operating within their borders, and the slow but steady increase of people who actively use bitcoin in their daily uses too.
1022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A advise to my friend about his decision on: August 06, 2023, 09:02:37 PM
Many people lack basic knowledge of bitcoins.
I became interested in this topic when I learned that a friend of mine was so ignorant of bitcoin that he recently received bitcoins from his father, but he had no idea what to do with them. As a result, he tried to reject the inheritance and was spared from having to argue with the lawyer who was reading the deceased father's will, which was being read aloud. Why wouldn't someone, he insisted, give him some houses and perhaps some cash so he could launch a new business?

But while his father decided to give him bitcoins, my friend was furious and even left the house because he believed his late father had given him some money out of hate for him. When my friend came to my house to tell me the story, I encouraged him to collect the coins and learn more about bitcoins, and he was furious to listen to me until I started the show and started explaining it to him. At that point, he was happy and walked back.

Wouldn't really advise you giving half-baked information about bitcoin to a friend but seeing as the situation calls for it given the fact that he's not happy he's getting some of it as his inheritance, I'll let it slide this time. Good of you to let him know about bitcoin too but I suggest you dig deep into it as well so you don't spread information that they'll hold you for, especially since these times are a little tough for investments and people are losing their money left and right. You wouldn't want a friend blaming you about losing their money cause you told them to do this and that. Encourage him to study crypto too as when done right it could really set you up for financial success, something that a house and a business couldn't necessarily give since those don't instill financial literacy as much as cryptocurrencies do in my opinion.
1023  Economy / Economics / Re: The whales stirred. What should we expect? on: August 06, 2023, 08:39:14 PM
I mean there's not much that we can do with that besides accept the fact that they transferred their cryptos. It's theirs anyway lol. Plus bitcoin's in a pretty safe spot right now and the sale of hundreds/thousands of bitcoins in one go projectively wouldn't really do much about its price in the long run. So we should still be okay sitting pretty at this spot although a price movement is badly needed especially as December closes in which isn't necessarily the best months for crypto. Anywho no reason for anyone to panic right now or lose their shit since it's just whales selling, not the whole market. They don't hold the power over bitcoin here even though they own bags and bags, we do.
1024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: August 06, 2023, 08:12:03 PM
I watched the highlights very late because there was no electricity in my city, but from what I could see of the highlights, it was a fight in which the two fighters were always grabbing each other, and it seemed to me that Nate Diaz was going to go after the Jake Paul with the intention of catching Jake Paul instead of keeping his distance like in normal boxing, because of that it seemed to me that it was a very boring fight and by doing that he just put Jake Paul as a good boxer, because during the fight Jake Paul was fighting in a way without catching the opponent, in my opinion although I only saw the highlights videos

but even so I see Jake Paul having come out of this fight with a deserved victory and if he continues like this then he can certainly still beat other strong boxers, but the question will be if he and his team will challenge the good boxers and take the risk of Jake Paul losing by a knockout and in the first rounds of the fight or Jake Paul and his team will be chasing fighters who are not at the top and who aren't very strong because with that the real chances of Jake Paul winning will be very high and he won't he will run great risks of losing by knockout and thereby ruining his reputation

because in my opinion a loss of Jake Paul by knockout in the first rounds would spoil his reputation and make future fights unfeasible, that would not be good in financial terms, we will see what Jake Paul's next fight will be, if he will choose a strong opponent or a bit strong opponent as he has chosen, I laughed with a comment from someone on youtube because he said that Jake Paul only beats old and retired people, but for me some people are underestimating Jake Paul and don't want to see that he is strong and wins on merit
Diaz is a grappler, it only makes sense to stick to his style and retain grabbing habits since he's an MMA fighter, not a boxer. Jake is a stupid fuck who stalled for time by clinching on Nate the whole while and only landing punches when it goes his way. Doesn't make sense for him to get a unanimous vote in my opinion since there's no fight to be had when all you do is grab the enemy and punch him every now and again. Some may argue it's strategy but I say it's a dirty tactic.

Sad that Nate lost this fight but this doesn't prove anything in Jake Paul's way. First off this is a celebrity showmatch, Secondly this wasn't even in Nate's way, put him in the octagon with Jake and watch as he obliterates the ever living shit out of his smug face.
1025  Economy / Gambling / Re: Free Condolence Bonuses to Betnomi victims. Offered by TrustDice on: August 06, 2023, 07:52:18 PM
This issue has been marinating since early July when their site went down all of a sudden, apparently they have been communicative the whole time until quite recently when they've just gone full radio silent and dipped on their stakeholders, including those that handle their signature campaign here like icopress.
I did hear some issues related to Betnomi sometime back, but I expected them to get resolved as usual due to their reputation as you mentioned which is why I didn't think much about them until now.

It's sad to see so many victims losing their hard earned funds instantly exposing crypto in a negative light.
Welp. Everyone did. They were very great during the first few weeks of the issue and are really communicating about what they are doing and stuff (at least from what I remember), enough to make people blindsided over the fact that a simple site issue that an IT team could fix in a matter of hours is taking them more than a week to resolve. That could've been a signal from the stakeholders already but then again even I didn't suspect shit until this happened.

While this isn't necessarily the best form of closure to be had from this type of event I still hope it gives the betnomi users a chance to move on. It's hard especially if they have huge bags in there (which I heard some of them did) but we can't really do anything about it anymore can we?
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: August 06, 2023, 07:34:06 PM
why blame it on 'gambling' ? and not alcohol  ?
Gambling and alcohol which one is better?
Both are addictive. When you lost too much then you go to the pub, buy alcohol and get drunk. When you are too drunk, you go to the casinos and entertain people with your naked ass LOL

I enjoyed the video 😉
P.S: No homo LOL

You failed to add drugs there, as the family of the person who goes rampage while naked claimed that the drink of that person was spiked.
Yes add it there. I actually thought the alcohol part was covering it LOL

Cause alcohol doesn't make you do stupid shit and I know this, what it does is just give you enough confidence to do whatever you want that's why some people call it liquid courage lol. So seeing people go absolute stupid when they are drunk is just something that makes me wonder what type of people they are really, or at the very least what goes on in their heads when they're sober.
Alcohol and drugs indeed make you stupid. The guy had no control over himself. I am sure in the next morning when his wife told him about all these, he was having doubts and struggled to believe it.

I never heard a software Engineer went wild LOL
You said it lol. I knew from experience that people who work in IT are genuine weird guys (The good type of weird) but most of them are reserved and are very timid most of the time, only ever letting some of their stuff show when they're either stressed or drunk lol. Never knew that some of them could go this far though lol, but it's understandable. The wife's probably not happy about his behavior and I'm not sure if this is grounds for divorce but I do hope she takes this lightly cause at the end of the day it's just boys being boys. Also makes sense now that he acted that way cause no way alcohol's going to do you in that bad. Drugs were in the equation after all. He'll have some explaining to do when he gets back to work lmao.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 06, 2023, 07:08:04 PM
No I disagree, gambling is not a man thing only, both gender can gamble if they want to and there's no mystery about it..

Gone are those days society and cultural settings makes us believe that women participating in gambling makes them look irresponsible and shame to the family. Today we have lots of women with gambling experience than many guys out there.

And from what I observe, I haven't heard or seen a single female gambling addicts it we have a lot of male gambling addicts which means women are more self controlling and responsible as gamblers.
The point flew across your head buddy. OP is asking us if there's something about us males that makes us gamble on a more personal level than females, seeing as we take it competitively sometimes and most of the gambling addiction cases fall in the laps of males.
Am on course with OP, maybe you just not getting my own point, maybe you need to reread the thread's title again.

It's mostly taken that gambling is a guys thing and we can see a good number of guys in gambling than women, it's like 10 men to 1 woman in any gambling house you walk in, so it shouldn't be surprising that the high level of competition coming from guys, they are higher in number as gamblers.

A group of guys could be having a drink at a pub and later decide to hit a casino house, but the likelihood of women taking that decision is slim as they rather go to club , so I might agree with OP to an extent that gambling is mainly a guys thing than it is for women.
See you're talking about one thing and then saying another. You're literally talking about gender dynamics in gambling and how there's no disparity in your previous comment and now you're basically retracting it by saying that men dominates this space, completely against the previous post you made which doesn't even make sense cause OP's asking about what's the deal about men becoming more prone to gambling addiction than women. I gotta give props to your second post though cause now you've hit the spot and have given OP a comment that's in line with her post lol.

I've read the title and have read the post, no way I'm gonna go after you like that if I knew I was in the wrong.

Gone are those days society and cultural settings makes us believe that women participating in gambling makes them look irresponsible and shame to the family
Tell me, in what stretch of the imagination does this make sense when OP's asking for the reasons why men dominate the gambling space, including the demographic of people who are addicted to gambling?
You seem not to get it about the cultural perspective on how it affects the number of women participating in gambling and this is because our locations differs and what's obtained in my immediate environment with yours is not same and it's obvious from our comments about the OP topic.

I wouldn't want to stress much about my first comment cause it is something subjective, but in my objectiveness I think I have a clear understanding now of not just the OP's topic but your comment too @Casdinyard.
Oh I get it alright. I'm not so much as a stupid fuck when it comes to the diversity of cultures in different places given the fact that the place I live in is a melting pot of different cultures from around the world. What I'm only after is how the first comment you made is so unrelated to the post made by OP, nothing more. Throwing things like the difference between then and now in gender dynamics, as well as disagreeing with OP when statistical data says otherwise (even you said it yourself in the second comment lol) is what made me more interested about your comment.

Even this comment you made's not really in line with everything you said. I don't understand why you gotta pull "cultural perspective and difference" when the post was all about male gambling addiction becoming a really prominent thing in this space compared to female gambling addiction.
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: August 05, 2023, 11:25:22 PM
For now, i'm looking forward to the LoL playoffs (LPL and LCS) that'll happen during the weekend.
Makes sense. LPL's looking as strong as ever and LCS is in massive shambles so I don't really expect them to win this playoffs. Plus Doublelift's not playing since he's still in the hospital so i'm not really keen on watching lol. He's the only person besides Faker that makes me watch these games nowadays cause the game's just so linear after 20 mins, you pretty much know which one's going to win soon as that first turret falls before plates.
I don't follow the Valorant scene that much, but if i'm going to pick one team, it'll be Fnatic since they won the VCT Masters Tokyo.
Same bet here, Fnatic is going strong here and they aren't really showing any signs of stopping. Although paper rex shows real promise and a game is coming up if I'm not mistaken. They'd open the VCT game if I'm not mistaken and will be fighting against DRX.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Do You Of Think My Predictions On This Multi Bet Ticket ? on: August 05, 2023, 10:50:18 PM
So on this ticket, i i spent time to make a selection of 20 games, compiled all the games in one bet(multi bet), and stake a small amount of money on it, right now, five(5) games out of the 20 total games have won, so remaining 15 games to go, still a very long way though, but again, Stake is offering me a cash-out that is already slightly above the amount of money I staked on this game, I am wondering if i should take the cash-out offered to me and move onto the next one, or just allow the game to keep going, do you guys think i stand any chance of winning all 20 games..

Below is the game ticket,

I say you full send it lol. I usually don't advocate for pushing your luck but if it's something that you can afford losing and you're willing to see this through just so you don't regret it if you turn out to be right in the coming bets then might as well push for it. I don't think there's going to be any loss on your end anyway if you lose any of the bets in here since this is a multi-bet and all games have been accounted for already, but if you're okay with pulling out to make sure you end the game on a positive note then I say go for it as well.

It all boils down on whether you'd regret losing all the money more, or you'd regret not being able to win more. Just make your choice my friend.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: August 05, 2023, 10:24:24 PM
Valdez has proven time and time again why he is a capable fighter, some even say he's the next to step into Pacquiao's path which is a lot for a boxer that hasn't had anything going for him until recently. Not discrediting Navarette here and I know he's going to give us a good fight but I believe that Oscar could win this by a massive upset and a massive knock-out. He's been methodical in his every play and he's able to get back up his feet and defeat his opponent without question numerous times even before that massive victory prior to this fight. Navarette has done the same but I just felt like Oscar's got this in the bag despite the odds not being in his favor. We'll just have to see how this fight goes when it all resolves I guess. But oscar's getting this W no doubt.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: August 05, 2023, 10:06:52 PM
I don't think there's an inherent "benefit" that people could avail from the existence of gambling. In fact I'd argue that gambling isn't a good thing and is something that realistically came from the greed of men. The fact that we're wishing for an opportunity to earn more money without the heavy work that comes with it is a testament to the fact that it's something that didn't come from great things. Biblically gambling is something that is abhorred by multiple religions. Countries left and right had imposed gambling bans, if this is something that you're expecting to have a benefit or something, look for something else bro cause you'll be severely disappointed.

I think we knew that this isn't a great industry morally and despite this, we still played and gambled. I can't really vouch for any reason besides greed but yeah.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Slot Streamers on: August 05, 2023, 09:51:09 PM
..and wish these influencers to make a raffle of balance vouchers or free spins for viewers, lol.

I believed in most cases, almost the majority of gambling streamers do have a raffle of sorts or giveaways.

Having that giveaways or raffles is the most effective way to lure and attract viewers to the stream. These viewers don't need to really watch the stream but they will just follow the instruction in order to be eligible for the raffle like staying on that stream the entire session etc.

In the huge competition of gambling streaming and the difficulty to attract viewers, without a giveaway, it's hard to cope especially for the new streamers.
Not really. Most of them keep their balances to themselves unless and only unless they get a sponsored giveaway from a big casino like Stake. It also only makes sense that they do it that way cause sometimes people can be very annoying especially with stuff that they think you owe them lol. I've seen people be very out of pocket in chat asking these gambling streamers for extra credits/extra cash so that they can gamble for themselves since "they are wasting their money on the game anyway might as well help someone out" and then be very racist or annoying in the chat afterwards when their request is expectedly not granted. While it was the best way to attract people into your stream these types of giveaways are also a double-edged sword in most cases.
1033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 04, 2023, 10:35:34 PM
If I am going to win someday, I will make sure to handle it properly. The thing is he gets the money that fast that's why he can also lose it very easy as well. If I am him, I will hire someone some financial manager to help me manage my money so that I can make it grown as the same time I can also gamble without feeling that I am about to lose it all because of addiction.
Well you have the benefit of being financially literate given the fact that you've been aware of the investment caveats and opportunities in your time here in the forum, so it comes to no surprise that you'll be able to handle winning that much money. The problem though is if you are going to win lol. I wouldn't really count on it too much since winning in the lottery involves you wasting your whole life buying scratch off tickets by the daily which when compounded yields so much money you'd second guess if buying these tickets is even worth it, but you do you my friend.

At the end of the day it all boils down to whether you're willing to make the choice of going all-in on lotteries.
1034  Economy / Gambling / Re: Free Condolence Bonuses to Betnomi victims. Offered by TrustDice on: August 04, 2023, 09:42:39 PM
Betnomi exit scam? Damn. I've been out of the loop and I am surprised to hear this news since I actually enjoyed my time there. These trash websites make it a lot harder for gamblers to trust newly launched legit gambling sites sadly.

Anyway, this whole initiative by Trustdice is admirable for sure despite them clearly having ulterior motives. Great stuff team!
In their defense betnomi's been in this forum for about 3 years now and they have proven themselves straight and honest even against allegations of using fake identities in the past, so nobody really would've seen this ever happening, and while you're right at least with the fact that this burns the little trust that the industry has over new and upcoming gambling sites this is all the more reasons for them to up their game and improve upon the current system of gambling here in the crypto world. I've seen sites out here not even trying to stand out and then asking themselves why they failed. But I digress, that's not the real point of the post lol. This issue has been marinating since early July when their site went down all of a sudden, apparently they have been communicative the whole time until quite recently when they've just gone full radio silent and dipped on their stakeholders, including those that handle their signature campaign here like icopress.
1035  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which are best stake alternatives on: August 04, 2023, 09:13:04 PM
Up to you really. But if you wouldn't mind me asking what makes you want to switch casinos in the first place? In my knowledge Stake is one of if not the best casino and gambling platform out there. Plus they're worldwide so reach is not the problem right here. They don't slack off with the games and the customer service too as they provide one of the best roster of games out there for people to enjoy, and they have virtually 24/7 customer service.

If it's just a matter of preference you could find a couple of good casinos out here with active threads so you can jive with their gamblers and all that but I wouldn't really say they are alternatives cause every casino's got their own selling point, and Stake's just that unique.

Well, when it comes to reliable casinos, with a high reputation and that above all do and provide a good service to the players, it is obvious that stake.com is a great option and the best, there are also other very reliable casinos in the forum, there is the case of duelbits, sportsbet.io, bitcasino, io, rollbit, among other casinos that are one of the best here in the forum.

Now in terms of preference, things can certainly change for some reasons, firstly, casinos sometimes focus on playing many games, among them the ones that bring the most new ones are slots, particularly slots are the favorite games for many players, e.g. That reason is more concentrated there or that, regularly I have seen in the forum that there is a great interest in the game of poker, in fact many casinos have not tried to do the lathes and they have done very well, in such a case, It is expected that stake.com give us a nice surprise regarding this, we are all waiting for this, but it is still missing, we do not know anything, and it is that from time to time when we least imagine it they will give us the good news that they have a good poker option where we can all participate and win a lot of money, because that is the style of stake.co, and a casino that does not give up and for a reason it always appears among the best, out of the top 3 of all casinos, in this sense it does not I could talk less about the casino, for me it is one of my favorites, besides that here they treat their players with great respect, whether you are a whale or not, they treat you with great affection and quickly attend to whatever you need.

I understand that it was a matter of preference but at the same time against a prime casino/sportsbook like Stake there's really little to no other casino to compare against. Which makes me think that there's something else that may have urged OP to switch to a different casino. If it's poker I think we have a plethora of poker and hold'em games that are available at the player's command within the site. If it's about a casual play stake also has something in store for users too so there's no real reason for them to switch over to a diff casino unless something urges them.

I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist out here but it just makes me wonder, so at the very least Stake could implement it and make the site better eventually.
1036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency. on: August 04, 2023, 07:39:36 PM
While KYC is a massive killer to anonymity in Crypto, it's a much-needed one in my opinion. People have been very lenient and belligerent with how they can get away with stealing and robbing people of their tokens in the past since everything is virtually anonymous and untraceable, at the very least with KYC you now have a lead to where your stolen stuff might lead to. Although i'm a little disappointed at how underutilized this feature is and in most cases casinos only ever use this to verify that you're a real person, sometimes even taking it a step too far and using your info to sell to ad agencies for profit.

KYC isn't a bad thing, it's the way that these casinos implemented and imposed it that's putting it in a bad light. Hopefully with the introduction of this anonymous feature we see a new mechanism where KYC can be utilized in its full efficacy.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 04, 2023, 06:32:27 PM
I do not know if this is fictitious or not but at the end of the day it paints a true story among lottery winners or basically people who got their money through unconventional means. They fail to consider the fact that the money they got is not from a consistent income stream, they get blindsided by the huge amount of money that's in front of them, and eventually they lose it all out cause they focused more on spending it rather than making the money work for them. It's great that at the very least he had a few properties left to his name that helped him get back up on his feet, that's more than what regular lottery winners could ever wish to have especially those that didn't really think into saving their money in the long run.
1038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claressa Shields Vs. Keith Thurman?! on: August 04, 2023, 06:18:49 PM
We've already seen this happen, this is going to be another Fallon Fox Incident lol, but in this case it's going to be boxing. Nevermind that the gender disparity even just the fact that Thurman was virtually undefeated until Pacquiao and its was through a split decision too. So for Claressa to think that she's going to beat a literal war machine is a little delusional to me. But whatever, let people play stupid games so they can win stupid prizes. She may have the disadvantage in the ring but after this fight Social Justice Warriors and PC motherfucks will flock upon the after fight calling Thurman a war criminal or something after he brutalizes Shields. Either way I'm going to watch this fight for the lols and to prove a point that Women cannot compete in male-only fights so they can stop smearing their protests for "gender equality" when all they really want is to get more rights than men.
1039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Playing Slot Games On Demo/Free mode Vs Live/Paid Mode on: August 04, 2023, 05:56:37 PM
Demo games are fake. The only thing they're good at is giving the player a general feel on what the game would look like, they throw shit like this to make you think that the game is on your side but in reality, it's all a ruse to pull you into playing the game and losing your money. I personally wouldn't play games with exploitative tactics like this but at the same time I might just for the hell of it. Anyway as I said earlier it's all a ruse to invite you into playing the game and the thought of winning the same amount in live games may drive you to play the real thing even more, and then you'll be disappointed again. Not all slot games are like this with their demo versions as the ones I played with Pragmatic are true to their odds and are only there to give you an idea of what the game would feel like without wasting money outright, so be on the lookout.
1040  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: August 03, 2023, 11:29:53 PM
About last month their was an indication on their site saying that they're under maintenance and it lasted for several weeks without and change or improvemen, but i was just surprised to notice that their site have crashed when I logged in recently, that's very bad and I'm glad i didn't fall victim to lose of funds from their site, I feel so sad for bettors that had huge amount of money left to be withdrawn on the platform it's so sad because alot of users would lose thousands if not millions of money.
Losing more to a gambling platform due to reckless betting is very annoying most times talk more of losing a huge sum of money to a gambling platform due to a crash, this is very painful and could cause some emotional traumas to many individuals, I'm just wondering if it's possible for them to get back their funds and how, also if it's possible that they could take some legal steps to get compensated, I feel pity for them, if you've got any family or friends that's lost huge money to betnomi please console them.
If everything turns out to be traceable when it comes to Betnomis owners or part of the team then for sure this would really be having that legal approach and steps from those victims specially to those who had lost huge

sums of money on their account. This is one the risks on putting up your money on some other platform on which you dont really possess the keys of such wallet. There's no way that you could really be able to assure your safety with those funds which it is already that expected. Popular platforms or sites or services could really be that ending up on a scam. Possible reasons? They arent profitable anymore or being bankrupt and decided to ran away with those users funds on which all that they had left. It is really that sad that they do really end up on this way or another one bites the dust and to those people who had been affected on this one.

I was able to read up the issue due to some post on Services section about on having those help into those betnomi users. How they would be able to determine legit
users to those who are just that pretending?
Can't really put the blame on the trusting users now but I couldn't agree with you more. These types of bad situations just drives the notion of "not your keys not your money" even more. I don't think they will be that traceable as apparently they already had issues in the past of using fake identities to represent themselves in the public, and I know that those were already taken care of but at the same time it's a little disencouraging to think that it could just be them using fake identities all along, but whatever. Efforts are being taken by multiple parties if I'm not mistaken to at least catch the perpetrators or hold them accountable, and I don't think it's the fact that they are no longer turning in a profit that's causing this to happen, Betnomi's one of the longest running campaigns here, and at the same time they had consistent monthly users, this is just a case of biding your time and submitting to your own greed.
