1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering - share your opinion on: August 01, 2023, 08:51:57 PM
I figured that in most casinos the wagering bonuses don't amount to the amount of money that you'd put out just to level your account and reach the bonus requirements. And unless it's under time constraints I wouldn't really go so far as to waste a lot of money in one go just so I can reach it immediately when I can take my time and enjoy every gambling session and eventually get the wagering requirements anyway. In my opinion casinos that does this while putting pressure on the gambler to spend more is a little exploitative and must be investigated cause at the end of the day you don't gamble out here for the wager, you gamble because you wanted to have fun while spending money, if it came to a point that you're only gambling so you can reach wagering requirements then I say you're either addicted or fucked in the head, either way you need serious help.
1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 01, 2023, 08:38:14 PM
Would like to know your takes on betting as a group to raise chances in local
Lotteries

I know that mathematically the chances are still really low even if you multiply it 100x but in Brazil at least we’ve seen some local lottery prizes given for small groups of 20 or 30 people betting betting with 5000x tickets let’s say

If dreaming alone is cool dreaming in groups can be even better
So like Jerry and Marge Go Large but in real life? I think it could work even without the mathematical flaw that they made a big deal about in the movie. There's a good way for you to win bets as a group especially when it comes to the lottery but only in certain types, as games like the PCSO Lotto in the Philippines completely took care of this and made sure that large bet groups wouldn't be able to win more games than regular players by making sure that the numbers that are still predisposed don't necessarily win you the games, you have to choose the correct combination and orientation and only by then will you be able to win the whole prize pot. At the end of the day I think it's great math exercise but if you're looking for a syndicated form of business why not just invest on a cooperative?
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: August 01, 2023, 08:23:48 PM
Big bets don't guarantee big wins right away, gambling is uncertain luck to try today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow and so on. Sometimes luck is on our side if we take things one step at a time and play patiently without emotion or ambition, and betting a large amount is a carelessness done without self-control that will lead to painful regrets.
stop gambling when you experience several defeats because this can be caused because you are not in a bad state, and take a short break and come back when you are in a good overall condition so that you can enjoy the game in a relaxed and calm manner that sometimes you are lucky.
I think if you are regretting when gambling, then you are gambling wrong to begin with. The idea of gambling is to have fun, and if you enter it trying to get rich then you are going to regret what happens. There is no scenario where you will be making a lot of profit and you should not be really hopeful about it neither.

I think it's quite important to make sure that it goes well enough and for that to happen you need to make sure that it gets as good as it gets. I know that it is going to take some time but if you could make it happen then you are going to be fine. I just believe that we are going to end up with a situation where life is not as easy as we think it is and that's going to end up with a situation where regret is caused by our own actions.
Not necessarily. People play videogames for fun and they are warranted to all the malding and anger that they commit to in-game and we don't call them addicted or anything. Regret every now and again is normal especially if you're gambling with a clear strategy you wanted to test out. I myself experienced regret in the past few days when gambling, and I can tell you with 100% certainty that I am not in any way whatsoever addicted to gambling or what. It's just that when you have a clear goal in mind, like perhaps seeing if this play works well, and it didn't, or when you're hoping to bag a massive win but you shied out and went for a small bet, only to find out that you would've won had you gone through with that large roll, that's grounds for regret right there.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lets Discuss All Casino/Gambling Related Movies Here on: August 01, 2023, 08:10:58 PM
Uncut Gems with Adam Sandler, not only is it a cinematic marvel to me cause you get to see Adam Sandler when he's acting on serious roles, but at the same time the story is compelling, revolving around the concept of high-stake wagers and high-roll gamblers. Anyone who's watched it would vouch for how good it is and it's not that "profound" that the concept would fly over the heads of people who aren't watching movies to critique it, which is one of the things that I love the most about this movie. Another would be the movie 21, which is about the MIT Blackjack team who systematically duped the Las Vegas Casino business with their mathematical advantage, and while some of the details are inflated from how they really happened in real life, it's still something that you'd appreciate watching.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Legality of Online Gambling in Different Countries on: August 01, 2023, 07:54:24 PM
I have always wondered why so many casinos had licenses issued in those last countries you mentioned in the list.

I assumed Curaçao was specially flexible and encouraging in terms of taxes and regulations. Though, I was not aware there were some others which also pioneered within the gambling industry before other jurisdictions even legalized gambling.

Also, I was expecting to see Texas in the list of states which allowed online gambling. I thought red states like Texas were in for freedoom, besides conservatism.
That and the fact that these gambling sites literally acquire their official gambling licenses in the country. So much so that you'd see every half-reputable crypto gambling site on the Internet boasting about their Curacao license as if it's something of value nowadays since you can basically get your own for a price unlike back then when there was some value in acquiring it. What's surprising me however is the fact that Macau is not here even though it's regarded as the gambling capital of the world. But I guess that only runs on the conventional gambling aspect and doesn't translate into the online gambling sector. Costa Rica is also one country I'm surprised was here. They weren't particularly known for gambling but for their beach aesthetic or perhaps I'm just letting my heuristics take over.
1066  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vladimir Putin has forgiven $23 Billion in Dept Owed by Africa countries on: July 31, 2023, 11:37:14 PM
This debt forgiveness coming from Russia is definitely  a way of getting more countries to subscribe to BRICS and challenge the USA, and this should be working in their favor especially that this has come at a time most of these countries are economically stressed!

But while they get to the negotiating table hope they too put Puttin under pressure to end the war with Ukraine 🇺🇦  once and or all as this is the perfect opportunity!!

For me Africa needs more exposure to crypto
But crypto doesn't really help the situation here because  Russia is offering these guys financial help which can't be got from crypto  Roll Eyes

Exactly. Makes the connections with the Arabs and the African Countries even more deeper apart from them just funding the war against Ukraine. Cryptocurrencies can only do so much since it inherently does not provide them with anything other than a better payment system, it doesn't give them money or not unless you're talking about donating literally thousands of bitcoins on a single country to fund their treasury and actuate their plans to which I say is not a bad idea, but at the same time why? Gold is a greater alternative and it would be easier to use than bitcoin in some cases. I feel like they're already past the negotiation phase and are already working hand-in-hand to challenge the US's financial capability.
1067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does cryptocurrency actually solve any problems? on: July 31, 2023, 11:19:38 PM
It solves general problems of the financial system, primarily inflation, which is the bane of everyone's existence unless you're a billionaire in which case it just makes you even more rich. Another would be the impaired payment processing and lack of anonymity in the remittance of money over larger distances, which keeps you from keeping your identity safe against scammers, and hackers that may intercept your money and literally close it out for you.

Financial capabilities come in last as it is not necessarily guaranteed especially since bitcoin is a very volatile asset with a high propensity to lower your investment's value in certain occasions, but with enough patience and great timing it has helped millions of people in the past achieve financial stability, which is a good thing.
1068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you use Bitcoin to pay everything online? on: July 31, 2023, 10:28:23 PM
It's possible but it would be up to merchants and developers to do so. Right now capabilities are set in place and are ready for the taking should a merchant like let's say, McDonald's promote the use of bitcoin in its stores. Back then it was exceptionally slow and expensive, but thanks to layer-2 solutions like the Lightning Network things are streamlined by a long shot. The other would be the fact that it takes effort into implementing bitcoin payment systems in larger infrastructures, which means more money to spend on just implementing these features just so they can accommodate a small percentage of users, which in business-terms means "hey why don't we just shoot ourselves in the foot with this one". So while it's possible, there's no need for it as of the moment and to implement it will be a massive waste for the company.
1069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just Another Good Source Of Motivation For You ... on: July 31, 2023, 10:06:51 PM
Well, that's one way to think about it. If you can spend stupendous amounts of money on experience and stuff that wouldn't last you, why not spend over something that will last you for a lifetime, maybe even something you can pass on to your subjects right? It's a pretty skewed concept but it drives the importance of investing and preparing for your future even more which is massive especially nowadays when people are finding it even hard to invest money thanks to inflation, but are not going to think twice about buying the latest iPhone, or going on that trip to Bali on a haphazard budget.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should conduct frugality and become a miser just so you can earn more money, but there has to be a balance and a lack of bias between spending for experiences and nice stuff, and investing for yourself so you can buy more of those nice stuff right?
1070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Certified Bitcoin Professional on: July 31, 2023, 09:23:33 PM
Certifications are nothing more than awards or proof that you've undergone training in order to claim that title. In the grand scheme of things you're not necessarily as great as someone who had 5+ years of experience in blockchain technology if you've gone through an online course training program to get your certification lol. Nothing beats experience in this industry and I can attest to that with the fact that I had a friend in the past who bought these online course training programs, this time for blockchain technology and got his certification, in the end he worked at a fortune 200 company that doesn't even dabble in blockchain technology while another friend of mine who had 2 years of working closely with cryptocurrencies as a full stack developer landed a job in this industry and is comfortably working in the comfort of his own home. Not comparing or contrasting who's better and who's not, just that these certifications doesn't act as a guarantee that you'd be a master at the thing you just trained for. Mastery requires 20% training and 80% hands-on experience.
1071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 18, holding my bitcoin and looking forward :) on: July 31, 2023, 09:00:17 PM
Kudos to you for being able to save that much at such a young age. That's more than what most of us could do for themselves and I applaud you for that. As for your sell target. Like what others have stated here I say you put in a price target instead of a specific date as it gives you a much clearer goal to achieve than just saying that you'll sell it by the end of the year, makes it so that you're able to close out a positive sale too which is heavily necessary especially with how things are going so far. Plus you can't really rely that much on bitcoin to move you out of financial turmoil anymore since it's a volatile asset that could 100 to zero you in a matter of a day (although theoretically) which is something that certainly isn't going to be your biggest bet, so invest wisely, do your own research, and don't let FUD take over your thinking.
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 51% attack on: July 31, 2023, 08:42:05 PM
Not many people were mining with high-tech mining machines when Bitcoin was released (2009, if I'm not mistaken).
Thus, bitcoin was vulnerable to a 51% attack by a big company or an individual with huge resources.

But was there any such attack on Bitcoin around that time?

Don't think so. There's no merit to them in the past cause surprise, surprise, bitcoin's worth nothing back then. Only as the coin gradually increased in value and appreciation did people come to realize how bitcoin is vulnerable to 51% attacks but way back then we didn't have to worry cause why would a large corporation buy 51% of the total supply of a currency which doesn't even go as high as a dollar in value? Plus to add to this there's not even that much of users in the past so jacking the price up will be a herculean task which would require this company to fork out even more money in the process, yielding a negative payout for everyone who'd try this in 2009-2012. Of course as time goes by it became apparent that bitcoin is valuable and the idea of a 51% attack became more real, but as it stands today unless you have a trillion dollars just lying around, I don't think you'd be able to buy bitcoins to that degree that you'd have supreme control over it.
1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going to Bitcoin events on: July 31, 2023, 08:27:29 PM
If you've gone past caring about the stupendous price of entrance tickets, you'd find blockchain and crypto events and conventions actually enjoyable. There's people out there that's showcasing their newest stuff, events and games for people to enjoy with prizes involved, some of them even promote adoption by only ever allowing crypto payments inside and nothing else. Personalities from all across the globe that's been pivotal in pushing for bitcoin/cryptocurrency's name is also oftentimes included and I guess that's one of the reasons why these events are so pricey considering not a lot of people attend these events anyway, but all in all it's an alright experience past the entrance ticket fee and all that. It's not so much as a treasure trove of information like how people in here paint it out to be cause you can only learn and know so much from events like this but it's fun nonetheless.
1074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SEC asked Coinbase to halt trading in everything except BITCOIN, CEO says on: July 31, 2023, 08:08:17 PM
Banning everything else and leaving one guy out of the group absolved isn't gonna do anything for the whole industry. They keep leaving bitcoin out and explicitly stating that bitcoin is a security even though at most it's a speculative asset and they are out for blood on what they consider as speculatives. It's just stupid and what they are really trying to do is profiteer from this venture by opening the market for large-scale infrastructures to buy bitcoins and control the cryptocurrency market altogether. Ask yourself why they are trying to kill altcoins which are generally more buyable and accessible than buying one whole bitcoin now. And why they are doing this at the cusp of a large halving which could very well propel the whole industry to another bull run.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoins to never gamble again. Will you take it? on: July 30, 2023, 08:14:37 PM
As a business person, I would like to strike a deal with whoever is making the offer. Rather than give up gambling totally for the rest of my life for 5 Bitcoins, give me only 2.5 bitcoins and I'll give up gambling for 20 years only. That's a gamble because nobody knows what would become of Bitcoin then. At that time we may have it go to the moon and become the most valuable asset to own or it may crash to zero and become the most worthless asset to hold.
While I think that's a smart deal and is something that's really good at that, I don't think the one who's giving you this 5 bitcoins outright would agree (I mean if I were them). Considering the fact that there's nothing really in it for them if you stop gambling, and they are asking you only to give up gambling in exchange for 5 bitcoins, which in itself is a risk cause as you said there's no telling where bitcoin will be in 5-10 years time but with the current state of it all you have multitudes of choices to make from choosing whether to invest it or to liquidate it, both being equally valid and smart options. So he might not accept that, might even go so far as to cross out the deal cause the fact that you're looking to still gamble is something that strikes the dealer that you're not up for it. But hey this is all hypothetical.
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: July 30, 2023, 07:57:17 PM
Welp. Apparently not anymore lol, sad day for people out here that got screwed by FTX and this sick son of a bastard that took money away from people who didn't mean him any harm in the past. Apparently he got absolved off of his issues and charges (although correct me if I'm wrong cause twitter and the internet seems to paint it that way) cause he has been donating money to sectors and parties that are seated in the government, basically like bribing people but under legal pretenses lol.

I wouldn't be so chill however, especially since some people who got duped by scammers and big tiktok cryptocurrency influencers have taken matters into their own hands. Pleterskin was kidnapped and beaten within an inch of his life by 6 of the people he messed with. Another cryptocurrency influencer was found chopped up just a few days ago. SBF should be very careful because threats are becoming more and more real now.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: KSI v Tommy Fury Misfits Boxing 14th Oct on: July 30, 2023, 07:37:58 PM
I gotta give my vote to Tommy Fury here, KSI is good and all, for a content creator boxer and I'm not sure if his past bouts ever game him the opportunity and the experience to give him all the cajones needed to fight a professional boxer, and a lossless one at that. Although for sure, considering Tommy's 9 fight record KSI's bound to be able to do something on his end that may upturn the fight but I wouldn't really rely much on probabilities. And while my vote remains to be on Tommy's end I for sure know that KSI's not going down without a fight, and may even not go down considering he's built like a mini-tank lol. Really excited about this fight and I hope they are able to prepare generously for this since there's only 2 months left before the bout.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔻 List of Casinos and Sportbooks to Avoid on: July 30, 2023, 07:09:44 PM
I'm aware of the 1xbit scamming activities but can't say the same about 22bet and 1xbet fiat based platform.
It does not matter what they are doing because they have the same parent russian company as 1xbit, and I dont think anyone from 22bet casino was ever registered on bitcointalk forum.
In the end I can say that this is my list I can put any casino I want in here, but you can always create your own list and support them if you want.

I don't expect 22bet and 1xbet fiat customers to come in here and write an episode about them because this is a crypto forum. Your list is based on your personal experience with the mentioned casinos, and some of the reasons you provided are simply rumours spread by others. You've never used 22bet or 1xbet, but you've already criticised them, along with the others on your list. 1xbet is one of Europe's fastest growing fiat gambling platforms, as well as a sponsor of some of Europe's most prestigious clubs. I'm not going to make my own list since it's worthless because you can't tell somebody where they should and shouldn't play.

I mean it's a no brainer for us to not deal with crypto casinos that do not have any announcement thread here cause 9 times out of 10 they're evading the peering eyes of the people so they could continue with their daily scam activities. I didn't know that 22bet was even connected with them until you pointed it out lol. Anywho, I don't think creating a new list is needed, and I know it's just you taking charge and all that but I'd be more than happy if you'd take other people's input and research upon the casinos placed here with their own sets of scam accusations if you may. If you don't want to that's fine but it would really help every newbie out here to avoid these casinos as most of them had no idea which casinos are reputable and which are not, and threads like these are really beneficial in informing them of such.

I recall OP's bad experience with FortuneJack. For about $200 or so, he was asked to submit KYC and Op was not ready to do it, so his account was restricted according to the company's terms and conditions, and OP continued campaigning against FJ, which prompted OP to create this list in an attempt to tarnish FJ's reputation. One or two poor experiences don't make something awful, and I've seen that individuals who don't follow the rules are the ones who get busted in casinos.

I wouldn't add something I haven't used on a condemned lost. Tbh.
If you're against KYC then do not use centralized platforms.
Well if that's the case then the problem's on OP and not with the Casino then. I recalled another scenario just a couple of days ago where someone was made they couldn't cash out their affiliate money from a lesser known gambling site called Sharkoin or something. Basically reached out to the founder via telegram to ask what's up only to realize he's been breaching the contract all this time. He got the money in 2019 and as per the site's rules you should at least play with the money once every 52 weeks for your account to remain active, if within that timeframe you remained offline you won't have any access on it anymore.

This is an example of a bad experience that was not the casino's fault. I reckon that since you pointed this out people who make lists like this must be objective and smart cause people will take anything at face value, and they may tarnish the reputation of a casino over a bad experience as you said, even if that was not the casino's fault in the first place.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: July 30, 2023, 06:48:31 PM
Let's be honest with ourselves. Is gaming really only for fun? We don't need to hide the true intention of people gambling 24/7 saying they are doing it for fun whereas they are doing it for fun and the chance of earning.
Yes. Gambling should only be seen as a form of entertainment and nothing else. However, in the situation you created where people are gambling 24/7 it's plain to see that it's no longer dedicated for fun and entertainment anymore, it's seen by people as a way to earn money which it shouldn't be. And just because they do it, doesn't mean that they are right and that act is normal. It still stands that people should only gamble when they can, and they could afford the losses they will incur, if they see gambling as a form of profit earning venture they might want to take a chill pill and relax cause they'd lose more money than they can recuperate.

Every human is greedy by nature but the aspect of not controlling greed is what mostly leads to failure because limited to everything and when there's an excess of it it will lead to malfunction.

Agreed. The call of greed is not what causes you to lose it all, it's the action upon heeding this call that leads to your downfall. People (like me) would attribute the losses to greed and all that but at the end of the day, if only you had temperance and discipline you wouldn't lose all of that.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title on: July 30, 2023, 06:20:13 PM
Anyway, I agree with your words that Inoue do truly have an advantage over Tapales and just like what happened to Inoue at 188, it seems to me as well that after he fought and defeated Fulton, I don't see anyone at 122 that can give Inoue a good fight and he might be an undisputed boxer again without trying his very hard to achieve it. Unless if Casimero will catch up because I definitely think that he is a much better fit compared to Tapales, no offense.

As far as I know, Angas ng Pinas is also in that Division.  The same thought as you, I believe that Casimer can give a better fight than Tapales and Casimero had been provoking Inoue to have a match after their failed match way back when there was a pandemic.  Fulton maybe the champion but there are also newcomers in that Division and one of them is Casimero.

Though I agree that Tapales is a heavy underdog if the match realizes, Tapales have two hands to punch too.  We never know until an upset happens and it often happens in boxing. We have seen too many of these upset wins to be recalled.

Yeah but we can only rely on upsets for so much. Just cause it happened way too often doesn't mean it will happen everytime. The fact of the matter is that Inoue could take punches as much as he could deal it, and if Tapales' only saving grace is a well-placed smack in the jaw, then I say he better practice and prepare for it cause no way Inoue's going to let him be that close to beating him. I wanted to see this fight through with enough action and all that but Tapales' is at a disadvantage in stats with a tactical advantage over Inoue. He has nothing to lose but so much to gain, the same can't be said for Inoue who had this undefeated record and is still in his prime. Hope both teams bring their A-Game to this fight.
