2201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 10, 2014, 04:26:00 PM

3) Stop talking about mining? Are you serious? This is a Work In Progress coin with an unbelievable potential and we should stop talking about how to exploit and develop it? We have to raise issue so they get fixed asap! Having lots of people who don't understand how to mine simply means that there aren't enough/clear/easy-to-find information neither there is a 1-click mechanism to start mining (I know there is "something" like that but it is lost in 667 pages!)

http://burstforum.com for starters and we have a GUI in the works with pretty much everything built in.

I am assuming this is about the 'Burst.Today' client?  I tried the 1.0 client when I was first starting with BURST and it appeared to be about the worst programming I have seen in years.  That being said, I appreciate the effort and really hope the latest version works well.  Honestly, something like that to get people in to this easily is really needed.

The initial client was almost a complete failure, He's redone a lot now, and is almost fully finished with the secondary release. Which will be much better. He didn't mine burst himself, I had to explain everything to him, then he translated it into a GUI, it will eventually be perfect, but it did take a bit longer due to the fact he had no experience with burst and we needed some time to get him up to speed. That being said, I really think it will be a great tool when finally up and working. Smiley I will do a major announcement when it's fully finished. Stay tuned.

Pool going for a quick restart to accommodate RAM upgrade

THAT'S WHAT WE THOUGHT....

fuckin STILL updating... we should have just gone back to the dedicated server when the guy fixed the line... this has caused all fuckin day downtime.

I'm not happy at all.
2203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 08, 2014, 05:17:00 PM
Sorry the pool was offline for so long, like I said I was travelling out of town last week and then it took me nearly a day to realize that I had to upgrade to 1.1.3 and 1.1.1 wasn't able to sync the whole blockchain anymore.
Confirmed that I received the BURST I was owed by the pool, TY!
I'll be pointing my SHA hashing power back at the pool when I get some time later today.
(once I sift through and figure out what the multi-port for SHA is again, since it doesn't appear to be on the site).

Edit: found it on the forum:
Looking for miners (ASIC ones especially!)
http://burstmultipool.com!
scrypt: stratum+tcp://pool.burstmultipool.com:3333
sha: stratum+tcp://pool.burstmultipool.com:5555
x11: stratum+tcp://pool.burstmultipool.com:4444
Keccak: stratum+tcp://pool.burstmultipool.com:6666
scrypt-n: stratum+tcp://pool.burstmultipool.com:2222

---

Placed a 418,000 BURST buy wall on the AE to buy back all of the burstmultipool assets for 999.

Are the plans for the assets just being scrapped, or is that just an offering for people wanting out?

I may throw my ASICs back there too. Now I have 4 s3's and 3 fury's and 22mh more on the way, and another 3 fury's on the way.
2204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 08, 2014, 03:43:15 PM
Hey all.

Burstmultipool.com finally paid out the outstanding shares - sorry, I was out of town last week and hadn't realized OVH had taken the VM offline.
I will be buying back all of the assets that were issued momentarily, please sell back into the buy wall.

Thank you for coming back. Is the pool still going to be functional? I think we at burstforum.com and burstcoin.info pool would like to chat with you if possible...

@Uray, fix share = min([ 100 / sqrt( Deadline + 100 ) ]^2.25, 50)

http://mine.burstcoin.info is up again. ISP had blown hardware due to storm last night

Also, 6 of the 10 TB ordered with the shareholder money is halfway plotted, the other 4TB drive hasn't arrived yet, but we will be purchasing more hardware as well.

Our apologies for the outage, but there's not much you can do when the ISP takes a dump. We're working on a redundant solution or clone server so that this doesn't happen again.

But do know we're on all dedicated hardware now, and dedicated IP address, so anyone who was mining with us before, and any of our investors are good to come back now, you don't want to miss what we have in store. Wink

did the x6 sell yet? If not I want.
2207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 07, 2014, 09:51:48 PM
anyone knows if and where are any docs for the wallet api calls available.
i want to parse the blockchain and put the content into a sql database.
for me the simplest way would be curl to retrieve the data.
i have'nt  started a db layout yet but plan to make most data indexed and searchable.
at the moment i am not sure which data this will be but my goal isto port the blockchain content into mysql.

I heard it was at http://localhost:8125/test

check that out.

Pool address http://burstpool.ddns.net is a trash pool!
3/4 times of a day it's down!!

Had nothing but problems with this pool asked support to resolve passphrase errors and never got one response back so mining elsewhere with out any problems now and continues to work perfectly fine

@kainus78 pool is no longer at that address. But right now there is an issue on the host side that is being taken care of. We apologize for any inconvenience.

@crazyearner we answered your questions, also your problem was you didn't wait for 4 confirms. it would have been fine had you done so.

Speaking of different miners, I am having a hard time finding instructions for the miner that is just "miner.exe" I don't know for sure, but I think that's blago's miner. Now, I can't find the page with the information on how to setup the miner's config. Can someone kindly point me to the right place? Thanks!
2210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient POC Mining | New version 1.1.3 on: October 07, 2014, 02:05:57 PM
Looks like the next rise may be coming - up to 156 on c-cex now with huge support on Bittrex. Big holders no longer content to sell for these prices and therefore price has to go up.

Buy, mine and hold - you will not regret it.

So far I don't, bought @140, not a lot, but enough.

Smart man. We who buy, mine and hold will be the whales come December when everyone starts buying up coins left right and center.

500,000 or 1 Million Burst may not be much now - but wait till the coin passes 1000 Sat, and then 2000, then 3000 - then you will know what it feels like to be the one with the power to move markets as opposed to trying to ride the waves of others Tongue

My next payday I will buy another BTC (hopefully its still low) and that will go straight into bolstering the buy walls. I suggest others do the same. Very unlikely for anyone to dump more that 50K at these prices so its about as safe as buy walls can get and worst comes to worst you end up with a big bag of BURST at a rock bottom price.

I plan on spending a few thousand dollars on burst soon. Just waiting for today to play out. Wink

i never took nxt serious since its based on java and i know many people thinking the same way.
if we port the burst protocols to a c library it would be a huge step forward to be independant to nxt.
even exchanges could base their integration on these libraries and other people can use them to create user frontends or fancy stuff like encrypted message transmissions for mobiles payed with burst and so on.

What's the problem about java? Btw, porting such huge library from java to c would be not easy though.

java today seems to be secure but java is responsible for 91% of all security attacks (stated by cisco http://www.eweek.com/security/java-primary-cause-of-91-percent-of-attacks-cisco.html).

i know it is complex to design and code a library which "speaks burst" because many java dependencies and object methods do not exist or cannot simply be ported.
however, only if the java dependency for burst is removed burst can grow really big.
i dont want to say it cannot grow because of java but it can grow really huge without it.
if there is a 0-day java exploit some day (which happens almost annually) the whole burst ecosystem could collapse due to java.
depending on the integration and dependencies in c there is also a risk involved but this is much smaller than offering an attacker the largest plattform (java) which exists as target.

its not that hard (I've read burst source code), but it would take time for sure, the latest standard of C++11 easily surpass java features and libraries, and also its already cross platform, write single code it guaranteed to run on all platform supporting C++11 compiler without need of any vm. and yes personally i think that java is deprecated language, thats why i never touch nxt (and also because of PoS) despite of its great feature.

we can easily replace jetty library to serve http protocol with nodejs, there are a lot of crypto library which is better on C++, we can use mongoDB or redis as database backend, which i am sure its far better than current java backend DB

but replacing java with c++ does not directly improve userbase and ecosystem, what we need today is promotion, great community, developers, investor

urY,
all right things...
but the big question is
"HOW TO DO IT?"

It is possible to "convert" all code into  C++ but it is so hard ! Now I think we have need  real investors or the coin will dead in 1 or 2 weeks.

Don't trip potato chip. All things in time. There WILL be investors, as I will be one myself here soon. I will be investing quite a bit more than I already have, and I will be hiring people to promote BURST as well. So seriously, don't trip, we got this. BURST will live on. Don't make rash RED statements like this without backing of any kind, please. it's ridiculous to say things like this. Without knowing anything at all, just stabbing in the dark.  SeeI can use colors too, it's not cool when the colors are saying things to you, huh?

In all seriousness though man, please, don't come in here with your random off the wall FUD without any sort of backup at all, it's just ridiculous and pointless. Thanks.

Please don't be arrogant , it is not helpful for the community Grin . I've used the color red only for more visibility , is it a problem ?   I'm not a fud  I've only told  : we need an investors and stop . Now tell me what is the fud in the phrase that I've wrote ?

it's very convenient that you cut the FUD out of the statement when you ask where the FUD is...

The FUD is... "this coin will die in 2 weeks if we dont' get investors." That's clearly FUD... you have no idea if this is true, let alone how long it would take for the coin to die without investors... so please, just don't say stupid nonsense like this. Let alone IN BIG RED LETTERS. From now on let's make this a law, you can only use red letters to announce facts. Thanks.

Also,

TO THE MINERS ON BURSTPOOL.DDNS.NET

ANNOUNCEMENT!!

The pool has moved!!

We are now on a dedicated dual quad xeon server, and a dedicated pipe/IP address. So please, move your miners from burstpool.ddns.net to mine.burstcoin.info:8124 ASAP!

The old address will stay active for 1 week in order for everyone to move their miners, so please move your miners as soon as you can to avoid any issues.

This server will be great for us and our investors, and will continue us down the road of awesomeness.

Thank you for your time!  Grin  Wink

Pool says
Using your browser go to
http://127.0.0.1:8125/rewardassignment.html
on the bottom ( see "Set reward recipient" )
Put your account secret passphrase there (the one you use to login into your wallet)
set recipient as
16434009311448803259

But I got this warning:

{"errorCode":5,"errorDescription":"Unknown account"}

How to continue?

You'll need 1 BURST to set reward recipient. This Burst can be obtained from one of the faucets listed in the top post of this thread.

Seriously again ? Newbie, don't troll this thread more with your limited knowledge. No more mining, please. Create a new thread for mining related posts and the dev will be happy to add the new thread to the OP.

You may also find tons of support and organized knowledge at https://burstforum.com

Exactly. check out the forums.

Hello fellows.

I think I really like these little guys, and with the upgrades that are available, I want to grab a few of them, so does anyone have any for sale?

Not sure what people are asking for them, but I think I will pay 20-25 shipped a piece to Reno, NV.

Thanks
