2201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: mercatox would be like in 2017? on: January 11, 2017, 04:40:52 PM
whether to ride and great in the market or will be drowned by time?

Let's say your opinion about mercatox in 2017?

Their site isn't loading so I think the project is over probably. I have never heard of the project before and at first I thought mercatox is a new altcoin but found out that it was never listed anywhere. Well, to those who are interested mercatox is a trading platform (or rahter was). Whatever, I think it's finished.
2202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Everyone looses in the long run on: January 11, 2017, 04:22:44 PM
I dont see why people keep risking their bitcoins into gambling knowing they will loose their coins into the short medium or long time, i do understand that be able to make extra bitcoins sound amazing, but the reality is another, we tend to loose money.

Exactly. But some people think they can make more Bitcoins through gambling and justify their gambling addiction by that. What a catastrophic mistake! How many times they have been told that one can't earn from gambling and still they stick to that stupid idea.
2203  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: January 11, 2017, 04:11:29 PM
I was also convinced that selling at $800 would be a good business, but I am realizing that it was actually a bad idea. However it is very usual in markets to wait for an expected correction after these eventual episodes of high volatility because of the people taking profits or motivated by panic to impulsively sell. But that also will be a new chance to enter the market in long for most realistic bitcoiners.

It BReaks the $1,000 barrier now and still going up. i was told to sell at $750 and sell my stash i should have earn an extra $250 if i waited 30 more days
You don't need to regret what you've done but learn from it. there's no point of regretting something which was happened and you can't get back into that time. now if someone told you to sell on exact point of current rate then just believe what you will do because if you made a mistake because of that decision which was spoken by someone else the only one who get the effect is you not them

Especially now, when Bitcoin is around $800, which is far from $1,000. Nobody knows exactly when is the best time to buy BTC or when is the best time to sell. If you are going to regret such "mistakes" in the future you better say good bye to Bitcoin and switch to something else, less volatile.
2204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your gambling strategy on: January 10, 2017, 04:00:36 PM
im sticking to sports only for now, dice is too crazy...

I personally see no difference. In sports if a team is strong and thus have more chances to win everybody knows that including sports betting sites, so you have very small odds. Isn't that the same situation like in dice when you bet with 90% winning chance?
2205  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-06] Death & Bitcoin: How I Prepared My Family’s Digital Inheritance on: January 09, 2017, 06:51:08 PM
Thanks for bringing this up, it is important. Even if you are not old you could be in a coma tomorrow. Will anyone be able to use those coins then?

Good point. If I had lots of coins I would definitely do something to prevent the situation you described. I'm still very far from that point, but who knows, maybe in the future I will have enough coins to think about including all that information in the Will.
2206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features of a dice game on: January 09, 2017, 01:41:37 PM
I vote for the "Rains in Chat". Faucets are good but usually the amounts they give are too small. They are: 100, 150, 200, 500 and very rarely 1,000 Satoshis. Rains on the other hand give you much more if you are lucky. 50k is the minimum, but it is not so rare to have 100k, 200k, 500k and even 0.01 BTC as tips. I've seen people getting 0.1 even, but I've never been so lucky.
2207  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-08] Study: Bitcoin Hedges Global Uncertainty on: January 09, 2017, 12:40:47 PM
A newly released study on the relationship between bitcoin and global uncertainty finds that bitcoin acts positively to uncertainty. Analyzing a lengthy period from the 17th of March, 2011, to the 7th of October, 2016 by using the VIX index, a widely used key market risk indicator that reflects market sentiment and investor expectation of 14 countries, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the US, the study concludes:

“Bitcoin is shown to serve as a hedge against uncertainty at the extreme ends of the Bitcoin market and global uncertainty, but at shorter investment horizons. Therefore, short-horizon investment in Bitcoin can help investors hedge global equity market uncertainty, especially when the market is functioning in bear and bull regimes and also when uncertainty is either low or high.”

I wish more rich people know that they really can save their money with Bitcoin. Just imagine how much money would be saved if people in Venezuela would buy BTC with their Bolivars several years ago or even just one year ago. This would be a win win situation for everybody: those who buy BTC would save their money, those who hold BTC would be happy about the price rising.
2208  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: January 09, 2017, 12:01:23 PM
I think saving money in a bank is the worst thing that can do. the most secure way of getting profit in long term trading with bitcoin get high profit.

Trading is not something everyone can do successfully, you need some skills for that. IMO a good investment is when you after analizing the operations of a company and coming to conclusion that they are doing good invest in them and wait for profits. You do not do the work, they are working for you. When you are trading you do the job by yourself.
2209  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can someone provide a legit site for me to play? on: January 09, 2017, 11:44:45 AM
This thread is proof that there are too many signature campaign spammers.

Like I said last week, the OP hasn't posted here since April. It was bumped up for no reason in late December and people keep posting the same thing over and over again.

Some mod needs to lock this thread because it serves no purpose anymore.

But I think the answers in this thread were not necessarily meant for the OP to read. The question he asked is on the tip of the tongue of many people here, so I don't think it should be locked if he is not reading the answers.
2210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you can control your self when playing gambling? on: January 09, 2017, 11:27:55 AM
Mostly I can control myself but there are exceptions of course because it's gambling and sometimes, although it happens very rare in my case, you just can't stop because you are "sure" that that number (or that straight or that flush) should pop up eventually. We all know that it's a stupid way of thinking because what happens next in dice or in a new poker game is not connected in any way with what was happening before but still we are expecting the luck soon if we were unlucky too long.
2211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin banned in Russia ? Not really on: January 08, 2017, 08:25:26 PM
Russian-based sports gym chain NanoFitness has announced it will begin accepting Bitcoin as payment for membership and related services.
This actually happened a few days ago and they announced it on their VK page : https://vk.com/wall-117861517_674 and you can also read an article about it from Bitcoinist : http://bitcoinist.com/russia-gym-accepting-bitcoin/

That's a good news. I have never thought Bitcoin was banned in Russia because I know many people from there using it. Although NanoFitness is not a very famous gym it is still nice of them to accept Bitcoin. We definitely need more news like this around the world.
2212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DOGE] Will history repeat again? MOON on: January 08, 2017, 08:04:39 PM
and its now at 25 satoshis, a 25% increase. Looks like getting ready for Next Pump...

Looks like they are trying to pump it buying a lot at 0.00000025, but since people keep selling at 0.00000024 they can't rise the price. I think DOGE will stay at 0.00000025 couple of months and then probably will drop even more.
2213  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-08]Bitcoin rate has fallen below $ 900 on: January 08, 2017, 07:46:24 PM
It's called a healthy correction. What keeps surprising me is that when the price moves up, people seem to take it like it's a normal thing. But when the price drops, they directly start getting worried and create threads in their panic state of mind where they ask what the reason is for the drop. All that while the price is still much higher than where it started from....

It is way higher. A 50% gain in a month in any other asset class would have been considered a moon-shot.
And here people are worried that it has crashed.  Grin

Yes, I agree that it's not the end of the world. We don't need another $1,300 and then falling down to $200 again. I think $900 - $1,000 is a healthy range for Bitcoin right now and I think it will stay in this range for a while.
2214  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular & Trusted | Huge Community | Free BTC on: January 08, 2017, 07:34:37 PM
increase faucet please  Wink Wink Wink
it dont' enough for me play game : Grin Grin Grin

haha, yeah, I think that way too from time to time. 150 sats is such a small amount, but that's what you get from their faucet now (except for the Happy Hours when they give you 10k to play). I have an advice for you though. Set the multiplier on 99x and make the max bet every time after claiming the faucet. If the luck will smile to you you'll have 0.00014700 which is even better than 10k on a HH. And btw it's possible, I tried it myself.
2215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for a living or a living for Gambling? on: January 08, 2017, 07:19:38 PM
That's a common mistake to think that one can gamble for living and people who make that mistake generally lose everything they have. So let's not think that gambling for a living is possible. Living for gambling is another thing and it is possible unfortunately. Some people really live for gambling and even if they can afford losing money, they are losing all their time whcih they can spend doing much more interesting things.
2216  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-06] - China's Central Bank Issues Warnings to Major Bitcoin Exchanges on: January 07, 2017, 04:25:10 PM
Looks like Chinese government wants a tighter control on the bitcoin trading in China. People there buy bitcoin to hide their fortune and to smuggle the money out of China. Stricter rules are coming for sure.

Also it should be taken into account that some people from the Chinese government fore sure are into Bitcoin too, because BTC is a convenient way to transfer the illegally obtained money abroad. So they will think twice before strengthening the rules.
2217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin without Altcoin ? on: January 07, 2017, 12:28:31 PM
I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?

I think the existence of other altcoins is good for Bitcoin. Of course I mean successfully functioning altcoins with big market cap and with good acceptance. Looking at them people can see how good are crypos in general and thus like Bitcoin more, because Bitcoin is better than any other crypto in the sense of acceptance, market cap, price in USD and because it was the very first one of them.
2218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it a sin to gamble? on: January 06, 2017, 07:59:21 PM
It's only a sin if you do it in excess just like drinking or eating too much. If you don't let it affect your ability to support yourself or your family and don't get addicted to it, it shouldn't be a problem.
It is not a sin, it is just a problem but not a sin, eating to much of drinking to much is not a sin. It will just make your health bad.

What bad in gambling is that it makes not only your health bad but if you gamble away all the money you hurt those who near you, your relatives, your friends, those who love you. I don't know if gambling is a sin, but it is a bad thing if you don't know how to stop, for sure.
2219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: zcash soon 0.2 btc! on: January 06, 2017, 07:44:44 PM
~~
i am sure that the difficulties of zec will be increase as there are many starter miners see that mining zec is an opportunity to them and they can get much of zec right now. but its depend on how much hashrate we have to get much of zec, beside that i hope that zec could be increase too.

Yes, but the higher the hashrate you want to have the higher price you should pay for the miners. Idk, I still think that to mine Bitcoins is more profitable because:

1. The price of BTC is more than 20 times higher than the price of ZEC.

2. ZEC is new and unstable, so the price of it might drop even more in the near future.

Anytime bitcoin mine still profitable. even compare with ZEC. Let say if bitcoin can guarantee his price. and everytime the  supply will be decreasing and it will make the price will increase. economy 101.
The mining phase of ZEC still a long.

I still mine the ZEC. It is profitable.

But for the time being, ETH is more profitable.

For miner who are mining ZEC are making some decent money with ZEC but the people who have invested in zec are waiting for their turn, but it will take some time to reach to at least 0.1 btc.

miners sell because they have to pay their bills and keep their operation running to make money with other things they are mining. and others are either bag-holding and hoping for a rise to get out or they are trading the ups and downs for profit. nobody is waiting for miracles.

I agree, if I was mining ZEC I'd sell them as soon as they were mined because the price of it is still high and no one knows what will happen to the price in the future. I personally think that there are more chances for the price to drop than to rise.
2220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about bonuses on btc casino ? on: January 05, 2017, 04:43:18 PM
All the bonuses are meant to drag you into gambling on their site so no, I generally don't care about the bonuses new opened casinos are offering. But I don't mind if a site where I play already gives some bonuses for the loyalty or for the activity on their chat. It's always nice to get some extra money to play with.
