2201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: CHESSCOIN - 32% POS - COIN FOR CHESS COMMUNITY on: December 13, 2017, 01:45:23 AM
Thanks for the updated nodes.  I've been trading this coin over a year and staking many other coins but haven't been able to synch this wallet with the little I've tried to.  I want to do it now.  I copied the new conf file and will let the wallet run but it's saying 0 active connections.

Try the exact spelling
Code:
chesscoin.conf
wait something and then you have the first node  Wink
Best regards

Yes, have had that and it's been on three hours now with no active connections.   Remember, we have to keep the wallets open to keep the blockchain moving.

The 2nd entry in my blog is dedicated to the checkpoint:

Please see the bug report for an overview:
* no uptodate checkpoint: https://github.com/COINFORCHESS/ChessCoin/issues/1

Why is it good to have a checkpoint ?
* at least until the checkpoint time the blockchain can not be manipulated anymore
* the syncing speed for new users will be better
  * since their clients with a newer checkpoint will decline clients which are on a fork

read more also in the new project I created:

It looks great what you're doing.  Do you have some history on github or other ways to know your history in case you want to post the binary you've compiled?  I've compiled in C++ but just using the Borland compiler and not sure what the process is to recompile this code.   We haven't had a coder in this thread for about 8 months.

Great to see I got it to stake.  That was really fast.  Do we need to sent 0 tokens to ourselves again every time after it stakes to get it to stake again?

Looking forward to reading more.  Appreciate the generous airdrop amount.

Maybe if you made it better for smaller miners to come back, since the price has gone up, reduce the dust level, the hashrate would boost again.

This and Scorecoin are interesting as they both have real world case uses.
2209  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: December 12, 2017, 04:11:33 PM
Withdrawal confirmation letters are sometimes not being sent, or sent very slowly.  I contacted support, and did the resend but nothing on a few. Also getting The service is unavailable or invalid security token. Since trades are going very slow, maybe overall strain on team/system.

Maybe they can make this staking on Ether simpler over time.  I have about 12 POS wallets running on 3 computers and it's a no brainer.  I set up minting with this and haven't received anything.  Sending POS Tokens to myself is the next idea put out here, but not sure what that means since I'm new to Ethereum.  I set things up 3 weeks ago now and no sign of minting rewards otherwise.

First go here and input your ether address where you are holding PoSToken : https://calculator.postoken.org

If it shows reward then follow these steps.

Send 0 PoS to your own address (where you are holding PoS) with gas price 21 gwei and for gas limit either go with suggested by MEW or put 200k. Do transaction, once confirmed go back to PoS calculator and check if it doesn't show any reward means you are good. You can repeat process every 3 days.

Thanks.

Emailed them about three days ago about their minimum payout for BCH because I have small miners.  I haven't heard anything back.   Anyone know what it is?

2214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Setting up antminers what step is missing here on: December 11, 2017, 03:43:21 AM
I found this elsewhere on here.  Thought there was a step missing, but for some reason my desktop wasn't able to log into any
192.168.1.x's that I needed, even the router set up.  Then I tried with my laptop and it could and it renamed properly.   Couldn't
delete the message but still curious why the desktop session doesn't allow login to those ips.

 1. Make sure your router is running 192.168.1.1 not 192.168.0.1

 2. Plug in  your cords and cables, PSU to s3 and ethernet cable from s3 to a open port on your router or switch

 3. Power on the PSU/s3 then cut the cotton end off of a Qtip and use the stick part of the Qtip as a reset tool. If there is a reset button in there you will hit i with this.

 4. With the power make sure the 2 green and 1 orange lights are on and use your reset tool to hit the button, hold down on the button until you see the green light above the ethernet cable slowly fade out. Once the green light goes out turn off the PSU and wait 30 seconds.

 5. Power everything back up, wait for the 3 blinking  lights to cycle and go solid. The red light will take a long time and blink its ass of but wait.

 6. Open your browser and go to your routers settings 192.168.1.1 and in you LAN setup you want to find the address reservation section.
In the address reservation section click ADD even though you don't see any devices yet. Once click ADD it will show you a list of devices and the s3 should be there with a ip address of 192.168.1.99 and name of UNKNOWN and maybe a MAC address similar to this C8:EE:A6:02: (all 3 of mine do) Mine i reserved the 1st address of 192.168.1.101 & named it antMiner_1.

 7. Open a new tab and go to 192.168.1.99 this will take you to the s3's login page. login and click on network, then click edit WAN, chnage static ip to dchp client, click switch protocol, then click save and apply, then power off your s3, wait 30 sec power it back on, wait for the lights to all blink and go solid.

 8. In the address bar type 192.168.1.(whatever address you reserved in the router) my 1st one was 192.168.1.101 hit enter and the s3 login page should come up, login and change whatever junk your going to change and your done.
Repeat those steps for each s3 and you shouldn't have any trouble losing or finding them and before you know it you will have one hot ass noisy room!

Last commit September 10th. There's 0 development on this project. Dump your coins before you get burned. There's no explanation for 0 communication since November 10th and 0 work done on the project for 2 months other than it was a shit coin, they took their profits and left a confused community b/c the team can't face the public that they screwed over.

Moving on. Dump it into BTC and hope tomorrow's Futures markets boosts BTC and you get your investments back.

Bitcoin rises by itself.  You need a way to add to that natural rise.  Good staking coins are the way.  Most carry on without active devs.

I did a hard reset and it worked but it set it back to http://192.168.1.99.  I have another miner set with that and wondering how to change the IP or if that is necessary.

You have to decide on that.
2219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Problem with S3 after trying many pools on: December 10, 2017, 05:42:31 AM
I was trying to find a Curecoin pool which is hard to do and so had to turn off the miner a bunch of times in a couple of minutes when I was finding out the pools were dead or getting the settings right.  I could not get the miner to connect to any pools after that.  Does anyone know what kind of error this might be?
2220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Coinwarz Slack or other Social Channel on: December 10, 2017, 05:05:08 AM
They are saying Curecoin is like $40 to mine right now.  I have tried to mine this coin on and off and you can't even find a working pool for it right now. It's mostly folded with a Chrome extension or the miners keep it secretive, which is extremely odd for a philanthropic coin.

Does Coinwarz have a slack or other social channel.  There aren't even active threads here.
