Didn't want to create a new thread, so I'll ask here. Is there any way to sell bitcoins anonymously? For webmoney, vouchers or something? I don't think my bank would appreciate any trades related to cryptocurrency.

Maybe you can try localbitcoins to find a cash trade somewhere near you. Wink

2226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to it all! on: January 29, 2014, 05:44:03 PM
Today I've started this little adventure, I have a few questions:
1. I've gone on the free sites to gain minute amounts of BTC, what's the best way to gain a sufficient amount, is it just mining?
2. Little debate here, obviously the BTC has grown massively, but, do you think something else could come up to match this virtual currency? Increase competition and bring the price of the BTC down?

I've opened a wallet, still haven't reached the ten thousandth decimal yet, one day! haha

Welcome Smiley

1. Apart from mining and buying bitcoin directly, you can sell your goods or services (translation, programming, etc) in bitcoin.
2. It could be. Who can imagine bitcoin could be such a success 4 years ago?

Where could I get one for free

Which graphics card are you using?
2228  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Difficulty level predictions - is mining toast - Is everyone heading into war on: January 29, 2014, 05:38:29 PM
there's nothing predictable about difficulty and calculators offer false reassurance.

Of course, no one can make a 100% accurate prediction, but at least you can have some idea on your mining profitability.

Also, apart from just guessing the future difficulty solely from the historical %increase, miners have spent time to estimate the future hashrate by checking the ASIC pre-order and delivery status of different manufactures.

2229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptsy - confirmation email problem on: January 29, 2014, 05:29:48 PM
How can you register with an email you forgot about?
now only cryptsy support can help you and I am surprised you register and now lost access to this email its weird for me
At first I only wanted to play a little with cryptos and didn't take it seriously or expect anything. I did not even invest any money into it. And I used a throwaway email for registration. I know, it wasn't the smartest thing I have ever done and I am going to learn it hard way now, I had some luck with altcoins trading.

OK, thank you guys I am trying what you advised me and if I somehow manage to get my coins I will post it here.

Good luck OP Smiley

Yes we can refund the two transactions which our worker failed to pick up

It seems your site is buggy from time to time. Sad

2232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mt. Gox market values on: January 29, 2014, 05:22:10 PM
BTC values so much higher than other exchanges is a mystery !

Not really.

Why are the Mt. Gox BTC values so much higher than other exchanges?  Is anyone paying that price?
Due to the long waiting times to withdraw fiat out of Mtgox, I guess people are just buying and then withdrawing Bitcoins as it would be quicker.

Exactly.
People having been waiting for months to get their USD withdrawals.
Some decide not to wait anymore. They cancel the USD withdrawal, buy back some bitcoin, and make a BTC withdrawal instead.
2233  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HAVE YOU HAD COINS STOLEN ON CRYPTSY? on: January 29, 2014, 05:15:43 PM
It seems to be a keylogger on OP's computer.
2234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Low hash rate? on: January 29, 2014, 05:09:49 PM
I've jumped into playing with mining ... there are a couple of approaches that I have tried but nothing is super successful.

I dropped a few bucks on a 333MH/s miner and it doesnt make a whole lot of BTC.

Buying some GHs from CEX.IO hasnt yielded much BTC either, I have however implemented the re-investor to purchase GHS every time I receive BTC and NMC.

My CPU (3rd gen i5) is currently mining an Scrypt currency an is capable of a whopping 20MH/s

I guess it's as true with bitcoin as with everything else. You have to spend money to make money.

20 Mh/S on Scrypt is a giant speed, especially for CPU. You need like 25 GPU cards to gain such speed.

Sounds like a typo to me.
2235  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About to get my first .1 Btc. Now what. on: January 29, 2014, 05:04:42 PM
Congratulations on making your first crypt currency. Why not to hold it and make another 0.1 BTC meanwhile?

Keep getting more BTC lol.

There is NO easy low-risk way to make 10x profit.
You can earn some BTC by providing services (translation, programming, etc.), which requires skills.
Or, you may spend your btc in gambling sites for a huge win, which is very risky and you should not bet anything you cannot afford to lose.
2236  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MtGox Verification on: January 29, 2014, 04:59:43 PM
Though you have spent a long time on it to get verified, I would suggest you (and everyone) to stay away from mtgox.

Mtgox is infamous for having terrible delay in USD withdrawal (FYI: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179586.0) and now there is also problem in BTC withdrawal (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=431117.0).
2237  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Huobi's trade volume real or fake? on: January 29, 2014, 04:49:08 PM
Am I wrong (still) thinking that Huobi has 0% trading fees?

Yup, you are right. Trading at Huobi is still 0% fee.

Indeed it is not easy to tell if an exchange has faked the trade data. But, I am not really surprised if some of the exchanges are doing that.

2238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CPU Mining on: January 29, 2014, 04:47:11 PM
I know CPU mining is bad but what software could I use to try it out or how can I get it on guiminer.
If you have a new generation CPU like Intel core i7, you can try scrypt mining on Alt-Coins. I have tried mining on i7 in past and I was getting around 50 khash/sec, so don't extpect huge profits, but you will at least learn basics of mining and can move forward.

For CPU mining, use Pooler's CPU miner (google it or search this forum).
I did that. The price of some of the coins mined rose, and got worth quite a lot.

To OP, use this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpuminer/

CPU miner is good for CPU mining Smiley
OP could play with it and have fun, but please beware that it will not be profitable at all.

2240  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do not be a victim of OKPAY on: January 29, 2014, 04:41:26 PM
I sent 5k GBP by "instant" transfer from my bank to theirs on the 11th Jan - nothing in my account yet and no help from their support. Tomorrow I am asking my bank to begin a recovery process and I am reporting this as fraudulent transaction to the police (I am based in the UK) as is Mayzus Financial, OKPay's financial services provider. Perhaps a crime reference number might shake them into action! I have also already raised an official complaint via the FSA who regulate this kind of stuff in the UK.

I should add that I have previously done two smaller transactions with them which were processed in two days each.

I really don't know if I will ever see my money but anyone reading this should obviously avoid them at all costs, for any larger amount anyway. I will use SEPA in future.

Another complaint post apart from OP...this is really bad...
Sorry to hear both of your loss Sad
