1341  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much can I mine with 1Gh ? on: February 07, 2014, 03:39:26 PM
dont buy from cex.io or any other cloud mining sollution ... u wont even make your money back ...

Exactly.

Check your profitability before buying hardware or hashrate.

1342  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Good cloud mining websites? on: February 07, 2014, 03:27:28 PM
I also want a good rentability, not just 10$ more than my investement.

It is not profitable at all to buy hashrate and do cloud mining.

Think it this way: If you can buy the hashrate and get profit, why would the site owner sell the hashrate in the first place?
1343  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Contracts Mining Pool Sites and Teams on: February 07, 2014, 03:22:46 PM
Almost EVERYTHING on E-Bay is a rip off.

Exactly.  Wink
Forget about buying bitcoin or hardware on eBay Cheesy
1344  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is bitcominers.com any good? on: February 07, 2014, 03:19:26 PM
EDIT: I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT THIS SITE IS A SCAM DON'T BOTHER RESPONDING

Glad to hear that you found it out before payment. Cheesy
1345  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Starting out on: February 07, 2014, 03:15:54 PM
I want to mine Bitcoins or Altcoins

Im a noob and I start from scratch.
Waht do I need and spend to make at least 100$ from mining per day??

Don't get into mining to make a lot of money or you're going to get burned. Just flat out buy the Bitcoins.

Agree.
Just buy bitcoin/litecoin directly.  Cheesy
1346  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How much earnings from 230GH asic machine? on: February 07, 2014, 03:07:52 PM
Before you buy the ASIC, please check the profitability...

1347  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: hash rate versus bandwidth on: February 07, 2014, 03:05:30 PM
Another very informative answer... thanks again, Sonny!

The thread you linked, by ckolivas, is particularly useful.

Okay, if I have this right, then we want to set the share difficulty such that the mining rig is getting, say, 20 hits per minute, which works out to

hit_rate = 20 / 60 = 1 / 3 hits / sec

To make that happen, we have to set the share difficulty to

diff = (2^16 - 1) * 2^208 / 2^256 / hit_rate * hash_rate
     = (2^16 - 1) / 2^48 * 3 * hash_rate
     = 6.985E-10 * hash_rate

which works out to 698.5 per terrahash.  This works out to 1000 per 1.432 terrahash, which is exactly the value given by ckolivas.

Fine.  Now we have our miner going out to the network 20 times per minute to get more work.

No problem.
Yup, your calculation is perfectly right.  Grin

How many bytes will be transferred in each direction, every time this happens?

This will be different for Stratum vs. GetBlockTemplate, right?

So what’s the answer in each case?

Too bad, I have no idea about the exact bandwidth usage.  Sad
1348  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: p2pool deposits to cryptsy - why not? on: February 07, 2014, 02:56:53 PM
I'm using Cryptsy and Coinex. Both seem to tolerate deposits from pools even though they warn against it.

I'll look into the block stats later on - my current pool's front end is down at the moment.

OP was talking about p2pool.

For pools like p2pool and Eligius, the pool payment will be done in coinbase transaction (block reward transaction with no inputs).
For other pools like btcguild, the pool will send you payment as an ordinary bitcoin tx.
1349  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Group Buy Idea on: February 07, 2014, 02:52:15 PM
Hi folks, i wanna open a BitFury group buy.
I own 2 BitFury:
450gh/s x2 = 900-1000 gh/s

I think about doing a Group Buy with them, if are you asking why?
I answer you right now: Electricity fees, and overall: if them get broken?? I'll have my ass in safe place.

So if i start a new gb with immediate hashing at good price and low electricity fees, you'll might be interested?

Let me know,
Thank you,
InMyHonestOpinion83

group buy?  Huh
What you describe is not a group buy lol  Cheesy

The fee section is so wrong lol.
1351  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BitOfGlory.com - here's another one. on: February 07, 2014, 02:45:17 PM
Hello Guys,

i am new one to the bitcoin forum now, but i have to say also that BITOFGLORY is a scam...i was one of first customers, they offer me 2TH/s for 1500USD, i didnt bealive it. i thought it is a preorder or something like that. But in the chat with ROY H, he told me i can have the 2 TH/s for 1500USD and they are online in 2 hours, when i pay with paypal. So i paid with paypal. I have the invoice still im my mail inbox i can show it if someone wants...., after 2 weeks, they told me that the paypal account of dynalayer is locked, so i thought i was making business with dynastack?? anyways..ROY-H told me again i should put a claim on my paypal payment, so i can get money back, they cannot refund money back because paypal close their account...SO WHAT THE FUCK?Huh...they said to me also...that my contract is still online and they know the problem is on the dynastack/dynalayer side..(i dont know whats the fucking combination with this dynastack/dynalayer shit???)..so i put the claim on the payment as suggested from ROY-H, but i told him my contract is still active and i want the login to bog...its not my fucking problem if they have problems with paypal..( probebly someone before me paid with paypal and didnt get the login, so he put the claim....so its normal paypal close the account for dynalayer/dynastack...fuck i dont know what company..)

After writing emails to CEO "jared rice"...he promissed me he will get the account for me next morning....What happened ---no account, next day i was talking to ROY-H in this chat window...and he was supprised why i didnt get login...finally 10 min later i get login.

And now DRAMA beginns...as i had my login, i saw there was 4.8 BTC, i thought ok...lets see what is happening...next day there was 5.6 BTC,...next day...7.6BTC.....next day...28 BTC (WHAT THE FUCK?)...on the same day 2 hours later there was only 4.8 BTC again on the account.....WHAT THE FUCK AGAIN Huh if someone dont bealive me, i took snapshots every day, i can send it to you if you dont bealive me.

As i have described this issue to CEO fron DYNASTACK "Jared Rice",...next day the Bitofglory homepage was offline, nobody can login anymore....

So,..i hope i could help you with my experiance with BOG..

BR

Sad to hear your experience.
have you got back your money in paypal now?
1352  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Have £1200. Recommend me a rig. on: February 07, 2014, 02:40:39 PM
You won't find a miner that will make you a profit. So, you should consider Group mining. Check out the group mining section here to signup to a group.

Or GPU mining, so many people not realizing its better for low budget. At least I think this way and already made some profits : )

What GPU setup you got going?

I do have 4x 280x Toxics hashing dogecoin at 3Mh/s +

Purchasing another 4 this week Smiley

It is definitely not profitable to mine bitcoin with GPU.
It is still profitable to mine scrypt coin with GPU.  Grin
1353  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Any lead on T/H ASIC Miners? on: February 07, 2014, 02:36:27 PM

Agree.

If you really want to do mining, build GPU rigs to mine scrpyt coins and sell them for bitcoin.
yeah, true that!  I'd do that now but I live in a small apt.  Not enough space and limited electricity options.  Id be tripping breakers left and right. I actually asked my brother if I could set up a farm in his house.  Hmm...

You should tell your brother that his room could be very warm even in winter lol.  Wink
1354  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Noise Level of Six 280x on: February 07, 2014, 02:27:59 PM
How would you describe the noise of 6 280x mining at 50-60% fan speed in an open case? Will that be the equivalent of 1 hair dryer? Is it very irritating to have it under your desk?

The noise is way lower then hair dryer but it is enough to make you difficult to sleep with..

I can sleep pretty well, though I don't have 6 running at a time...  Cheesy
1355  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Cex.io Fallout on: February 07, 2014, 02:26:30 PM
I expect the price to drop to already BTC0.021-0.025 before the day ends. I already set my buy price at BTC0.021 Cool

Is not so low... because as I told you they manipulate the price.
Yeah, I see it didn't even fall under BTC0.025. Somehow it rallied back up a bit.

Either the users don't care about mining profitability, or the price is really manipulated....
1356  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Any lead on T/H ASIC Miners? on: February 07, 2014, 02:24:18 PM

Agree.

If you really want to do mining, build GPU rigs to mine scrpyt coins and sell them for bitcoin.
1357  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Tell me what's worth mining today. on: February 07, 2014, 02:21:24 PM
Build GPU rigs to mine scrypt coins.  Smiley
1358  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Tips to avoid scam on: February 07, 2014, 02:20:31 PM
Use escrow if possible.
Be extra careful with "too good to be true" deals and trades with newbies with no history.
Don't accept payment with possible chargeback (eg. paypal).

1359  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Brag: mined enough to pay my rent this month on: February 07, 2014, 02:13:43 PM
I think sticking with mining BTC is a good idea for now. Not to sure about all these alt currencies to many appearing now and it diluting the value of them all.

If you join Middlecoin, you could mine the most profitable scrypt coin and automatically exchanges those coins for bitcoin.
The value of those altcoin could crash sometime in future, but you don't really need to care about that if you just keep exchanging them for bitcoin.
1360  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is GPU mining even worth an investment? on: February 07, 2014, 02:07:49 PM
Very simple.
It is definitely not profitable to mine bitcoin with GPU.
It is still profitable to mine scrypt coin with GPU.
