1303  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Isn't BTC-E a Russian exchange? on: February 07, 2014, 05:37:29 PM
There was a thread on the topic. The 2 owners reside in Russia but are not Russian citizens, the servers are hosted in Bulgaria, and the company is incorporated in Cyprus.

Could you share the link to that thread?
Thanks.
1304  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox CEO isn't MIA! on: February 07, 2014, 05:34:21 PM
Mark is not MIA, I met him today, he said it is boring in the office and not much going on, so he helped me to do the dishes.
 Roll Eyes

When Mark heard about my withdrawal problems he immediately got on a plane and came to my house just to hold me and whisper "everything will be alright" into my ear. He is not only an excellent CEO but a caring person too.

The story sounds reasonable lol  Wink
1305  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can people please report if they have withdrawn BTC from Mtgox and if it arrived on: February 07, 2014, 05:32:55 PM
Just had my BTC return to my MtGOX account from limbo and this is the message I got when trying to transfer out: "Bitcoin withdrawals are temporarily disabled until the issue is solved, please see announcement"

The announcement:

Dear MtGox Customers,

In our efforts to resolve the issue being encountered by various bitcoin withdrawals, it was determined that the increase in the flow of withdrawal requests has hindered our efforts on a technical level. To understand the issue thoroughly, the system needs to be in a static state.

In order for our team to resolve the withdrawal issue it is necessary for a temporarily pause on all withdrawal requests to obtain a clear technical view of the current processes.

We apologize for the sudden short notice. All bitcoin withdrawal requests will be on pause, and the withdrawals in the system will be returned to your MtGox wallet and can be reinitiated once the issue is resolved. The trading platform will perform as usual for the needs of our customers.

Our team will resolve this problem as soon as possible and will provide an update on Monday, February 10, 2014 (JST).

We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused, and thank you for your kind support and considerations.

Sincerely,

The MtGox Team

Apologies if this has been posted already.

1306  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-E.com Locked account on: February 07, 2014, 05:31:21 PM
The support is pretty bad there, and I have seen quite a number of posts mentioning no one reply their tickets...
1307  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox frequently not matching orders at market price - anyone know why? on: February 07, 2014, 05:29:07 PM
I've since cancelled my buy order and will be transferring all my funds out to a *real* exchange..

You should have done it earlier...
1308  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How safe is blockchain.info wallet on: February 07, 2014, 05:27:21 PM
I've been recommending this wallet to my less technical friend because it's my understanding that's it's safe even if the site/ company fails. Is it totally true?

I know that armory and paper wallet is probably the safest but for non technical people it's not really easy to setup.

Wallets are only as safe as you are. I would recommend a blockchain wallet for beginners. Just remember to set up all the security features like 2 factor auth and a second password.

You should also backup the wallet, just in case the site goes down sometime in future....
1309  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox suspends BTC withdrawals on: February 07, 2014, 05:25:54 PM
Remember Mt Gox's previous "temporary pause"?

Statement Regarding Temporary Hiatus on U.S. Dollar Withdrawals

TOKYO - JAPAN - June 20th, 2013

Over the past weeks Mt. Gox has experienced rising volumes of deposits and withdrawals from established and upcoming markets interested in Bitcoin. This increased volume has made it difficult for our bank to process the transactions smoothly and within a timely manner, which has created unnecessary delays for our global customers. This is especially so for those in the United States who are requesting wire transfer withdrawals from their accounts.

We are currently making improvements to process withdrawals of United States Dollar (USD) denominations, and as a result are temporarily suspending cash withdrawals of USD for the next two weeks.

Please be reassured that USD deposits and transfers to Mt. Gox will remain unaffected, as will deposits and withdrawals in other currencies, and we will be resuming USD withdrawals once the process is completed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this causes our U.S. customers in the meantime, and look forward to resuming withdrawal service as well as debuting a dramatically improved trading engine which will be launching very soon.

Regards
Mt.Gox Co. Ltd Team.

Thanks guys,

Just got reply from Bitpay:

Hi Canh,

I'm happy to help you. It sounds like your invoice expired before your payment hit the blockchain. Do you know the invoice id url you paid? It would look like https://bitpay.com/invoice?id=ADHddvKTWGH6QzyARsrker.

If you don't have that then please send me the bitcoin address you sent your payment to and the TXID the payment is within.

Client Operations Team Lead- West Coast

Hope everything goes well.

Thanks again guys,

CD

It seems the bitpay support service is pretty good, as they can get back to you within 12 hours.

1313  Economy / Gambling / Re: LuckyBit - putting suspense back into gambling on: February 07, 2014, 05:15:27 PM
Is it down?

Are you also having problems connecting? If yes, please report your IP to support[at]luckyb.it. Please also mention the exact error you are experiencing.

On our side, we cannot detect any problems right now, and there are ~40 users connected, but other players reported problems as well.

No problem here at all...
1314  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Ponzi.io - Fast, Guaranteed 120% Payouts on: February 07, 2014, 05:11:02 PM
What makes me wonder is why people are still sending money. They should at least investigate this:
https://blockchain.info/address/1ponziUjuCVdB167ZmTWH48AURW1vE64q?filter=1#

As we can see there was no payout since 4am. If he starts paying again I might send some money, but people please don't send your life savings, right now it's like rolling a dice. Even worse cause we know that at some point everyone will lose their money.

It's almost as if this is some sort of Ponzi scheme! I'm outraged I tell you - outraged!

IMPOSSIBRU!

I bet the guy with 7BTC didn't know who Ponzi was. People just see what they want to - in this case they see only 'get 120%'  Wink

Maybe he expects the owner is a Nigerian Prince and is willing to share the wealth lol.  Cheesy
1315  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Ponzi.io - Fast, Guaranteed 120% Payouts on: February 07, 2014, 05:08:49 PM
Seems dead now.
Would be stupid to deposit any money since there are like 100 ppl in front of you for payout.

They are all waiting because a few asshole sent TX without fees and it's not confirmed for almost a day.
As I understand, everything is stuck because the payment is sent only if everything is confirmed.

Seriously, the owner should have expected it.
If the whole site is really stuck for that, I am sure it will get stuck again and again lol.
1316  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for 0.5 BTC loan to perform Bitcoin arbitraging on: February 07, 2014, 05:03:39 PM
You can do bitcoin arbitrage, but please you need to forget about mtgox completely.
1317  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] My signature space Permanently! 1 Price buys it forever! on: February 07, 2014, 04:59:48 PM
1. The price is way too high.
2. You could abandon this account right after selling the sig space. You need to guarantee your post account afterwards...
1318  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.5 BTC/month to Advertise Bit777 & Peerbet! on: February 07, 2014, 04:55:06 PM
unqualified
What does that mean..? are you referring to some other post..?
People with under 50 posts for the month will be dropped from the program the next cycle and will not get paid.
I think there should be at least 50 posts

It seems your understand is wrong....

FYR:

I have 3 questions

1. Can you start in the middle of the month?
2. Is this payment for existing posts?
3. Can you have other signatures?

1. Yes, but your payment will be delayed to next month if you have <50 posts.
2. No
3. Guess not. The sig example in OP takes up all of your sig space.

Correct
1319  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.5 BTC/month to Advertise Bit777 & Peerbet! on: February 07, 2014, 04:52:54 PM
This would be post #33

my bit777 account is jackson_cali

Sorry. Remove me.

Just curious....Why do you leave the sig program?
1320  Economy / Services / Re: Earn up to 0.8BTC/month just by posting! - Advertise for PrimeDice.com! *Updated on: February 07, 2014, 04:50:58 PM
anyone have a rough estimate of how many people are repping PrimeDice in their signatures?   Seems like Stunna has almost built a monopoly here at bitcointalk...

Only Stunna will have those figures, so I'd ask him. I think PD is still the most popular, but a lot of new users choose other deals now since Stunna put a minimum requirement on activity to participate.

True.
But, they could switch to PD after getting 50 activity (less than 2 months).  Smiley
