2221  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to take short-term loans for real Ukrainians somewhere on: March 18, 2022, 10:34:55 PM
Due to situation, we are fine to send any needed info to the lender, id's photos and any stuff, up to connect iphone's to the family if needed to target geo. We are fine with that. Thanks for info

As much as I sympathize with your situation, unfortunately your personal information and your IDs do not matter much to lenders. As you have been told before, collateral is the only thing that counts.

It's really much easier for me to get donations, having all the necessary information and even confirmation of a destroyed home. But I still think that many are now in worse conditions, and they need direct help more than those who still have a job. Thats why i am looking for loan's, and not for donations.

Don't try or ask for donations here since this could be interpreted as begging, which is prohibited in this forum. There are legitimate non-profit organizations and charity projects that deal with such things, so maybe it's better to turn to them for help.
2222  Economy / Economics / Re: What skills should I learn to get freelance work ..?? on: March 18, 2022, 03:04:39 PM
In most of the freelancing sites, you can see some of the work that the most popular freelancers are doing, so research them and see what kind of jobs they are doing. This will help you to get a feel about the market. Think about it - the best freelancers are not the ones with the highest amount of experience, but those who are the most versatile and who work at the intersection of all those skills. Web development, WordPress, graphic design, marketing, SEO, and social media are some of the most in-demand jobs in the freelancing market. If you have experience in one of these, then consider yourself really lucky! You’re already ahead of the game!
2223  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin bounce back to 60k in this year? on: March 17, 2022, 10:16:24 PM
~
This is positive since it is fluctuating between $41k and $40k for a week so far.

No, it is not. In fact, when we look at the chart, it is clear that the price of bitcoin was below 40k during most of last week. Only yesterday, the price spiked to over 40k and fluctuates between $ 41k and $ 40k in the days since.
2224  Other / Meta / Re: Lock Russian section. on: March 17, 2022, 09:23:03 PM
Judging by the Putin's attitude toward freedom of speech, I would say that BitcoinTalk.org is more likely to be blocked in Russia than the other way around.
Interestingly, the Russian Constitution should actually guarantee freedom of thought and expression and prohibit censorship. Obviously, this is not the case, so it can only be assumed that the authoritarian, controlling Putin regime is trying to curb freedoms it doesn't like while leaving people without access to services like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Evidently, Putin is trying to take control of online conversation, either by having his cronies at Russia's Internet regulatory agency Roskomnadzor block websites for political reasons, or by having the courts issue injunctions for people who dare to speak against the government in public.

The bottom line is that the Russian government and some of its stooges are trying to crush freedom of expression. Russia's human rights abuses have never been worse than right now.
2225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine: Zelensky signed the law "On virtual assets" today on: March 17, 2022, 08:46:06 PM
I think this is just the finalization of the previous law that was endorsed and signed by their government just a few months back.

I think that's true. The Parliament has adopted a bill on virtual assets, and the president has to sign it into a law. No doubt, the war, as well as large crypto donations to Ukraine, influenced President Zelenskyy to make this decision.

As a side note, I see an interesting development from the opposing side as well.

CoinDesk reports that Russia's Sberbank was given a license by the Bank of Russia to issue and exchange digital assets. This is intriguing since, just two months ago, the Russian central bank advocated for a full ban on trading, mining and using cryptocurrency. Russia seems to be trying to mitigate the damage caused by the SWIFT ban.

Sberbank Gets License From Russian Central Bank to Issue, Exchange Digital Assets

Ukraine currently stands as the fourth county in ranking accepting Bitcoin as a legal tender.

No. The Ukrainian government has not recognized bitcoin as legal tender. Take the time to read the article carefully.

2226  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin bounce back to 60k in this year? on: March 15, 2022, 08:36:32 PM
After long time of suspension of BTC price between 32k to 40k is we think it's bounce backed to 60k this year?

I see no reason why not. The year is still young.

Take a look at last year's chart:

BTC price is has always been volatile and it will always be. This is not something new.
2227  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ukrainian Scam Donation Posts and Users on: March 15, 2022, 07:24:12 PM
By the way, I sometimes think that some of them are Ukrainians who are really asking for donations. Is there any directive out there for affected Ukrainian residents to get donations personally to the agency managing the official known donation address? Then we just need to refer the donor requester who come to this forum to that directive (including pretend scammers).

In fact, I already read in the forum about a crypto address where to send our donations, and it's a legit address.

The addresses setup by the Ukrainian government are (at least as of now)
https://twitter.com/Ukraine
BTC - 357a3So9CbsNfBBgFYACGvxxS6tMaDoa1P
ETH and USDT (ERC-20) - 0x165CD37b4C644C2921454429E7F9358d18A45e14

and the UN Refugee Agency in general: https://unrefugees.org/SupportUkraine

I think it is better for us to donate directly to an official NGO or a reputable non-profit organization raising donations for Ukraine. We also need to be sure that every donation we send reaches those who need it. Those who need help should turn to these organizations and I am sure they will get all the help they need.
2228  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: March 13, 2022, 11:15:32 PM
Guys is it ok if you all just cool down and we don't start a new war in bitcointalk forum, that is maybe one of the last places in the world where we can all still talk freely?
If you two have any personal issues... open a new topic, try talking in private or at least ignore each other until temperature drops.
I don't like when someone is sending merits to voters, but I also don't like when someone is asking a proof for directive donation and directing where to donate.
Peace out.

If this were a petition, I would sign it!

Does anyone even know why this happened? Can anyone tell me what the TL;DR is? Or at least where the conflict started (aside from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, of course).
2229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to hit $100k? on: March 13, 2022, 09:53:06 PM
The problem I see in this prediction is the following:

the price of bitcoin could eventually reach $100,000, but determining that this could happen this year is where the problem is, I'm not saying it's impossible but I'm saying that it will be difficult for that to happen, of course bitcoin when there is some good news price starts to rise in a frightening way and good news is something unpredictable, it can happen this year or another
That's actually the problem, giving a period of it when it will exactly happen.

Last year, the majority of us have thought that it was really possible. Well, the possibility was there but it wasn't enough to push bitcoin up to $100k. What happened is that it had made it $69k at least and that's close to the goal.

Now, if we've learned from expecting too much. Let it come whenever the right time is like if it's going to happen by the next few years then so be it and that's a better expectation that you don't expect it to come at exact year we're speculating.

Yes, BTC will rise again and will hit the 100k mark at some point. Despite the rough start to the year, experts still believe Bitcoin will hit $100,000, and that it's a matter of when, not if.

NextAdvisor (in partnership with @TIME) recently wrote an article stating that many experts still expect Bitcoin to pass the $100,000 mark, but with varying opinions on just when that will happen. And according to a recent study by Deutsche Bank, about a quarter of Bitcoin investors expect Bitcoin prices to reach over $110,000 in five years.
Additionally, big financial institutions have made their own predictions, such as JPMorgan predicting a long-term peak of $146,000 and Bloomberg predicting a peak of $400,000 if the currency rises at a rate similar to before.

2230  Economy / Speculation / Re: The good moves of Bitcoin. on: March 13, 2022, 08:52:51 PM
I don't think anyone can predict one hundred percent, all we can do is analyze and know the fundamentals, what news influences its development and what factors influence its movement. Discipline and consistency are needed here if you want to be really successful in trading.
But even how good you are from analyzing its fundamentals and technical indicators, all you could end up are still wild guesses as bitcoin will always be unpredictable. There is no surer way to predict its market by consistently learning its moves every single day because that will motivate you to come up with educated guesses and will definitely lessen the risk from losing this market.

Crypto trading usually opens the doors to some serious risks if one does not know how to deal with these high volatility markets, so I always recommend being ready to take your profits from time to time. Because of the high volatility, bitcoin is one of the most speculative but potentially profitable markets out there and there are some great bitcoin trading opportunities for every kind of trader.
2231  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Explain to newbie how to transfer money to someone in Ukraine with bitcoin on: March 13, 2022, 08:16:29 PM
Thank you everyone for all the other suggestions.  I'm starting to think that, if I use Bitcoin Wallet, then I don't really need to use Coinbase?

You can use any bitcoin wallet you wish, provided it is one of the ones listed on the official website, such as a hardware wallet, desktop client, smartphone wallet, or even a web wallet, like CoinBase (not recommended for large amounts or long-term storage). However, you will still need to use an exchange, such as Coinbase, to buy cryptocurrencies or convert them back to fiat. There are also other types of exchanges, such as P2P exchanges and decentralized exchanges, or you can simply exchange currencies in person.
2232  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cancel unconfirmed transaction - did i do it properly? on: March 13, 2022, 07:00:48 PM
Can someone confirm and show me a screenshots or a guide?

Your help is much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Without knowing which wallet you used, no one can confirm if you did it right. If -0.00000252 BTC was the only amount deducted from your balance, and as long as you have no unconfirmed transactions, I assume you did a good job. And yes, that is a transaction fee. Whether you send to someone else's address or your own, you must always pay a transaction fee.
2233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is A Better Option Than Fiat Money? on: March 13, 2022, 03:50:22 PM
For me, a great advantage of bitcoin over cash is that you do not have to carry it with you at all. You can send and receive money from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. You can have a nice balance in your bitcoin wallet, but you do not have to carry it with you. A hardware wallet or a piece of paper is all you need to write down the private key of your wallet. Furthermore, with bitcoin you do not need any centralized control or third-party involvement in the payment process, which is a major advantage that no fiat currency has, which makes bitcoins a better alternative to traditional currencies.
2234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto based VPN on: March 13, 2022, 02:44:26 PM
No, i mean a VPN that is shared by ownership of an underlying currency. There were a few projects a few years back, but I can't remember the names and I don't know if they succeeded.

Orchid VPN might be the closest thing to what you are looking for, as it uses the blockchain-based decentralized VPN.
https://www.orchid.com/

Quote
The Orchid network enables a decentralized virtual private network (VPN), allowing users to buy bandwidth from a global pool of service providers.

To do this, Orchid uses an ERC-20 staking token called OXT, a new VPN protocol for token-incentivized bandwidth proxying, and smart-contracts with algorithmic advertising and payment functions. Orchid's users connect to bandwidth sellers using a provider directory, and they pay using probabilistic nanopayments so Ethereum transaction fees on packets are acceptably low.

I don't know of any similar service that exists, and if one ever existed, I don't think it was successful.
2235  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB PAYPAL on: March 13, 2022, 02:28:01 PM
Would be buying regularly if all goes well.

I pretty much doubt that judging by your trust rating. And what do you mean by "a false trust rating"? You requested a no-collateral loan a few years ago, and now you're returning to the forum after such a long period of inactivity and expecting someone to believe you are trustworthy?

DireWolfM14    2019-07-15    Reference    This user has used newbie alt-accounts to request no collateral loans. Now seeking a no-collateral loan after months of inactivity. I would not trust this user.
subSTRATA    2019-05-13    Reference    leaves retaliatory negative trust ratings in hopes of getting previous negative ratings erased. trust abuse.
subSTRATA    2015-06-06    Reference    multiple threads and requests for a loan, even pmed me as to not make a loan request public. offers no collateral and refuses to sign a message proving ownership of his account, in addition refuses to use account as collateral for his loan citing that it would be "too much trouble for just a loan."

2236  Other / Archival / Re: 500 € loan urgent on: March 13, 2022, 02:17:24 PM

i have every right to post here

Yes, you have the right to post here. It is also your right (or, should I say, your obligation) to learn and adhere to the rules and guidelines that govern this community. Which you obviously don't.

Due to scams a "rule" has been created which, while not currently "enforced", is basically a minimum requirement to get a loan. Note that this isn't an official forum rule, it's just a rule that most lenders will follow.

The rule of "No Collateral, No Loan" means that in order to get a loan you must give collateral that is equal, or preferably higher to the amount you are being loaned.

If you completely ignore this sticky and make a loan request with no collateral, without having massive trust on the forum, the chances of you getting negative trusted feedback and therefore having a Trade with Extreme Caution tag is almost 100%.
2237  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: March 13, 2022, 12:52:58 PM
yahoo62278 and others are right in saying that such contests should be seen only as a source of entertainment within the community. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just off the mark. There is no reason for anyone to get upset.

The question that everyone should ask themselves is whether they would vote if there were no monetary reward or other incentive to do so? If the answer to that is no, then I would suggest that they are in fact the losers in the whole process. I find it more distasteful when I see how such an initiative turns into a personal contest and the start of hostilities in the community. Yes, there are people who will exploit the system but I feel that the majority of users will exercise good judgment and take the high road.

2239  Other / Meta / Re: Services that threatens the forum on: March 13, 2022, 10:18:39 AM
Edit 1. As of writing this, I did another "bitcointalk" search in Fiverr and found this lol. I reported it.
Here's the link of the gig if anyone wants to report it as well - I will make comments on your bitcointalk announcement thread
Good job. That one got taken down as well. Just curious, what do you write in those reports as reasons why the gigs should be removed? How are those services breaking Fiverr rules? I doubt Fiverr cares about what is happening on Bitcointalk and our local rules.

It appears that Fiverr really cares.

Prohibited Services:

Quote
Services that infringe third parties’ terms of service
We do not allow the infringement of third parties’ terms of service on Fiverr. As a valued member of the Fiverr community, we ask you to respect the broader Internet community and refrain from such violations in your Gig offerings. Gigs that are flagged for violations of third parties terms of service will be removed from the marketplace.

Do not post, offer, or ask for services that infringe third parties’ terms of service.

Misleading Services
Do not post, offer, or ask for:

Paid reviews
Positive or negative feedback on any product, service, or performance.

Testimonials
A written or spoken statement of a person extolling the virtues of a product or a service.

Fake engagement and traffic
Followers, traffic, visitors, fans, views on social media platforms, or any other fake engagement on any platform.

Deepfakes
Deepfakes are created using artificial intelligence technology that superimposes the movements and words of one person onto another.

Services that promise outcomes that are not in your control
In certain instances, sellers may be tempted to promise outcomes of their service which is not in their control. For example, guaranteeing to restore your Amazon account or promising an exact amount of viewers for a Youtube video by its digital promotion. Please refrain from promising outcomes that are not in your control because it misleads buyers.
Fiverr's Community Standards

I guess this falls under "Fake engagement and traffic".
2240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: should i invest in new project? on: March 13, 2022, 12:44:37 AM
What I want to ask is that on the staking platform on the project, is it already running with a very high APY percentage and because it is so high like that I have doubts about the price development on this project, will it get a good enough price for us to hold long term? because these coins are included in the staking platform, especially at this time the price rate on pancakes is quite high.

I've seen some yield farming projects that offer extremely high interest rates, which makes them appealing to investors. However, as with anything that sounds too good to be true, you should always do some research on what you are getting into. Firstly, because interest is paid in crypto, your earnings depend on the value of that cryptocurrency. Secondly, interest rates may decrease over time as liquidity pools increase in popularity. And last but not least, some liquidity pools end up being scams or can be hacked, which can lead to the loss of your crypto.

Earning money with crypto is not a guaranteed market, so diversifying your investments is a good idea. And while it can be profitable in the short term, it's a good idea to get out of the market before the bubble bursts and you lose the initial gains.
