2221  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Explain to newbie how to transfer money to someone in Ukraine with bitcoin on: March 13, 2022, 08:16:29 PM
Thank you everyone for all the other suggestions.  I'm starting to think that, if I use Bitcoin Wallet, then I don't really need to use Coinbase?

You can use any bitcoin wallet you wish, provided it is one of the ones listed on the official website, such as a hardware wallet, desktop client, smartphone wallet, or even a web wallet, like CoinBase (not recommended for large amounts or long-term storage). However, you will still need to use an exchange, such as Coinbase, to buy cryptocurrencies or convert them back to fiat. There are also other types of exchanges, such as P2P exchanges and decentralized exchanges, or you can simply exchange currencies in person.
2222  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cancel unconfirmed transaction - did i do it properly? on: March 13, 2022, 07:00:48 PM
Can someone confirm and show me a screenshots or a guide?

Your help is much appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Without knowing which wallet you used, no one can confirm if you did it right. If -0.00000252 BTC was the only amount deducted from your balance, and as long as you have no unconfirmed transactions, I assume you did a good job. And yes, that is a transaction fee. Whether you send to someone else's address or your own, you must always pay a transaction fee.
2223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is A Better Option Than Fiat Money? on: March 13, 2022, 03:50:22 PM
For me, a great advantage of bitcoin over cash is that you do not have to carry it with you at all. You can send and receive money from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. You can have a nice balance in your bitcoin wallet, but you do not have to carry it with you. A hardware wallet or a piece of paper is all you need to write down the private key of your wallet. Furthermore, with bitcoin you do not need any centralized control or third-party involvement in the payment process, which is a major advantage that no fiat currency has, which makes bitcoins a better alternative to traditional currencies.
2224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto based VPN on: March 13, 2022, 02:44:26 PM
No, i mean a VPN that is shared by ownership of an underlying currency. There were a few projects a few years back, but I can't remember the names and I don't know if they succeeded.

Orchid VPN might be the closest thing to what you are looking for, as it uses the blockchain-based decentralized VPN.
https://www.orchid.com/

Quote
The Orchid network enables a decentralized virtual private network (VPN), allowing users to buy bandwidth from a global pool of service providers.

To do this, Orchid uses an ERC-20 staking token called OXT, a new VPN protocol for token-incentivized bandwidth proxying, and smart-contracts with algorithmic advertising and payment functions. Orchid's users connect to bandwidth sellers using a provider directory, and they pay using probabilistic nanopayments so Ethereum transaction fees on packets are acceptably low.

I don't know of any similar service that exists, and if one ever existed, I don't think it was successful.
2225  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB PAYPAL on: March 13, 2022, 02:28:01 PM
Would be buying regularly if all goes well.

I pretty much doubt that judging by your trust rating. And what do you mean by "a false trust rating"? You requested a no-collateral loan a few years ago, and now you're returning to the forum after such a long period of inactivity and expecting someone to believe you are trustworthy?

DireWolfM14    2019-07-15    Reference    This user has used newbie alt-accounts to request no collateral loans. Now seeking a no-collateral loan after months of inactivity. I would not trust this user.
subSTRATA    2019-05-13    Reference    leaves retaliatory negative trust ratings in hopes of getting previous negative ratings erased. trust abuse.
subSTRATA    2015-06-06    Reference    multiple threads and requests for a loan, even pmed me as to not make a loan request public. offers no collateral and refuses to sign a message proving ownership of his account, in addition refuses to use account as collateral for his loan citing that it would be "too much trouble for just a loan."

2226  Other / Archival / Re: 500 € loan urgent on: March 13, 2022, 02:17:24 PM

i have every right to post here

Yes, you have the right to post here. It is also your right (or, should I say, your obligation) to learn and adhere to the rules and guidelines that govern this community. Which you obviously don't.

Due to scams a "rule" has been created which, while not currently "enforced", is basically a minimum requirement to get a loan. Note that this isn't an official forum rule, it's just a rule that most lenders will follow.

The rule of "No Collateral, No Loan" means that in order to get a loan you must give collateral that is equal, or preferably higher to the amount you are being loaned.

If you completely ignore this sticky and make a loan request with no collateral, without having massive trust on the forum, the chances of you getting negative trusted feedback and therefore having a Trade with Extreme Caution tag is almost 100%.
2227  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: March 13, 2022, 12:52:58 PM
yahoo62278 and others are right in saying that such contests should be seen only as a source of entertainment within the community. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just off the mark. There is no reason for anyone to get upset.

The question that everyone should ask themselves is whether they would vote if there were no monetary reward or other incentive to do so? If the answer to that is no, then I would suggest that they are in fact the losers in the whole process. I find it more distasteful when I see how such an initiative turns into a personal contest and the start of hostilities in the community. Yes, there are people who will exploit the system but I feel that the majority of users will exercise good judgment and take the high road.

2229  Other / Meta / Re: Services that threatens the forum on: March 13, 2022, 10:18:39 AM
Edit 1. As of writing this, I did another "bitcointalk" search in Fiverr and found this lol. I reported it.
Here's the link of the gig if anyone wants to report it as well - I will make comments on your bitcointalk announcement thread
Good job. That one got taken down as well. Just curious, what do you write in those reports as reasons why the gigs should be removed? How are those services breaking Fiverr rules? I doubt Fiverr cares about what is happening on Bitcointalk and our local rules.

It appears that Fiverr really cares.

Prohibited Services:

Quote
Services that infringe third parties’ terms of service
We do not allow the infringement of third parties’ terms of service on Fiverr. As a valued member of the Fiverr community, we ask you to respect the broader Internet community and refrain from such violations in your Gig offerings. Gigs that are flagged for violations of third parties terms of service will be removed from the marketplace.

Do not post, offer, or ask for services that infringe third parties’ terms of service.

Misleading Services
Do not post, offer, or ask for:

Paid reviews
Positive or negative feedback on any product, service, or performance.

Testimonials
A written or spoken statement of a person extolling the virtues of a product or a service.

Fake engagement and traffic
Followers, traffic, visitors, fans, views on social media platforms, or any other fake engagement on any platform.

Deepfakes
Deepfakes are created using artificial intelligence technology that superimposes the movements and words of one person onto another.

Services that promise outcomes that are not in your control
In certain instances, sellers may be tempted to promise outcomes of their service which is not in their control. For example, guaranteeing to restore your Amazon account or promising an exact amount of viewers for a Youtube video by its digital promotion. Please refrain from promising outcomes that are not in your control because it misleads buyers.
Fiverr's Community Standards

I guess this falls under "Fake engagement and traffic".
2230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: should i invest in new project? on: March 13, 2022, 12:44:37 AM
What I want to ask is that on the staking platform on the project, is it already running with a very high APY percentage and because it is so high like that I have doubts about the price development on this project, will it get a good enough price for us to hold long term? because these coins are included in the staking platform, especially at this time the price rate on pancakes is quite high.

I've seen some yield farming projects that offer extremely high interest rates, which makes them appealing to investors. However, as with anything that sounds too good to be true, you should always do some research on what you are getting into. Firstly, because interest is paid in crypto, your earnings depend on the value of that cryptocurrency. Secondly, interest rates may decrease over time as liquidity pools increase in popularity. And last but not least, some liquidity pools end up being scams or can be hacked, which can lead to the loss of your crypto.

Earning money with crypto is not a guaranteed market, so diversifying your investments is a good idea. And while it can be profitable in the short term, it's a good idea to get out of the market before the bubble bursts and you lose the initial gains.
2231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This Odd Job Would Have Put Thousands of Dollars in BTC in My Wallet on: March 13, 2022, 12:22:25 AM
OP, You did the right thing. Unfortunately, not everyone has such high moral standards. I imagine there are countless people who would accept such a job without hesitation. Our online lives are filled with misinformation and fake news, with social media providing the perfect platform for it to spread. So many people will gladly accept such a position because they are not conscious of the damage they are doing, and do not see any harm in pushing a misleading agenda.

That is why it is important to make sure you are not falling for it. When you see information that you believe to be fact, you need to start looking at it with a critical eye. Always look for other sources to corroborate the story. Ultimately, you should become your own reporter.

2234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what you must know before investing into crypto currency on: March 10, 2022, 11:02:38 PM
It is a good list of guidelines when it comes to investing in cryptocurrencies, but I do not completely agree with the tip about the crypto exchange to use. Of course, there are bad exchanges out there, so do not put your trust into some random crypto exchange just because it is the first one you have found. But, the level of liquidity and array of crypto assets is not always that important for an investor who does not want to trade frequently. Some investors might just want to invest some cash into a crypto and then wait till it appreciates. You can even buy crypto assets on an P2P exchange or directly from a person you know. Again, it is better to buy and hold than to trade frequently. Especially if you are an inexperienced investor and do not understand the risks.

Jel koristis Binance karticu redovito za povlacenje preko bankomata? Nije ti previsok fee? Ne od same binance kartice nego od bankomata banke. Npr, izvadis 1000 kuna preko pbz bankomata i fee binance carda i bsc mreze su mali ali od samog bankomata PBZ u ovom slucaju ispadne jos najveci dio naknade. ?

It was a fantastic 4 weeks with all of you guys. I got confirmation that Thunderpick wants 4 more weeks but the invoice I sent is yet to be paid. We will live the campaign once I get funds in my hand. For now, the campaign is closed.
You are free to remove the signature. All of you guys will have priority when we get live (if you apply of course).
2237  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Facts and Truths of Crypto Currency on: March 09, 2022, 10:56:24 PM
I write this thread based on personal experienced which I witnessed and Know most of the people that are still calling Bitcoin as a scammers game to trick people. Mostly pastors and believers..

So what is your point? Even if this is true from your personal experience (very limited, it seems), what are you saying here?
2238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Facts and Truths of Crypto Currency on: March 08, 2022, 09:53:21 PM
I am saying this from personal experience on fact and truth..

Is any of this verifiable?

The truth is something that can be proven by facts. Some of your statements that you assert to be true are actually backed up with false arguments based on hasty generalization. They might be true in one instance, but that does not mean they are absolute truths.

For example, the statement you have made:  "Another truth is that most of the youths, women, men, pastors, Christians and Muslims still believe that crypto currency is a scam or gamble..." is not a fact, but your opinion. As such, you cannot claim that it is true. To verify if it is really true, you would have to interview pretty much everyone on this planet.
2239  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The power of a questionnaire on: March 08, 2022, 09:06:39 PM
~

I guess you're right because nowadays 90% of altcoin projects turn out to be scams from the very start.
I was wondering, though, what about a really big project with so many team members? What if their community manager isn't quite up to speed on every detail? Sure, it may indicate he's not doing his job well, but it doesn't necessarily imply the whole thing is a scam.
2240  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Attacks and Criticism on: March 07, 2022, 09:55:46 PM
Yes sir. But I have been taking corrections and accepting mistakes, that is why I have learned a lot here.. I am still on the process. But most of the people that attacking me and criticizing me did not understand my contexts. Once they see the title and read the content without known the context, they condemned the thread.

And whose fault is that? If most people didn't understand your context, do you think most people are incompetent and/or illiterate, or is there something wrong with the way you presented it?

Most likely, you failed to contextualize the information and ended up blaming the entire community for your mistake. I suggest you to take your content back to the drawing board and try to articulate the context of the situation accurately in future.
