1501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: btc address on: October 16, 2022, 09:09:32 PM
Last I checked, walletexplorer.com is quite outdated and does not know of many of the newer wallets belonging to various exchanges and services. You might have better luck checking out the following sites:

https://oxt.me/
https://www.breadcrumbs.app/

Here is another website to check out that might be useful:

https://glasschain.org/

but other wallets: 15pncziUQx8bMxeWtTUVywo9rrV3CAJyF8
13EuFUmF3N7uq2No7QCSffY6LgG5CsYryo
showing: Wallet [00000dbdb5]
what does it mean?

According to glasschain.org both of these addresses are linked to the gate.io exchange.

1502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: About crypto? on: October 16, 2022, 01:40:57 PM
sorry sir it's all my friend's account if you don't believe it's okay. and I will also explain that the wallet I use is indeed the same as the one they use, but they have sold their wallet to me along with the existing token. because my wallet, which is often used, has been hacked and cannot be accessed anymore. I am grateful if you can understand.

What a lame excuse! Why on earth would anyone buy another person's wallet after their own has been compromised by a hacker?
That doesn't make any sense at all. If nothing else, after allegedly being hacked once, it makes sense to take all the security measures to prevent it from happening again. Using someone else's wallet is the complete opposite of that.

And so you are either a liar or incredibly stupid. Which one is it?
1503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Logo on: October 16, 2022, 12:44:37 PM
Also, just a heads up: there's no "official" Bitcoin logo.

I think it is fair to say that the most recognizable and probably the most used Bitcoin logo is designed by member bitboy, back in 2010. This is one of the first logos that were created for Bitcoin by a community member. It is a simple design, and it has proven to be timeless.

Hi guys, just drop by to say hi and to share with you some of the graphics I have done, feel free to download. All files are in PNG format, and almost all of them with transparent background. Hope you will find them useful.
~

I do not know why the images are no longer available in the original post, but anyone can find them in the archived version: https://web.archive.org/web/20130525203057/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631.0;all

Best of all, according to the author: "Everyone can make use of the graphics freely even for commercial purposes with this license and not bound by any restriction."
1504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What makes Dev different on: October 16, 2022, 12:24:07 PM
There are far too many scams in ICOs and crypto investments, investors are now much more careful and aware of the potential risk. This is a good thing, but it also means that this has made it harder for companies to raise funds, especially those that have legitimate business ideas. Therefore, it will be very important to give potential investors enough information. Investors want to see that you have made an effort to present a professional image of your project and to convince them with all the available materials. Because quite honestly, a large number of ICOs are launched by people that do not really need blockchain or distributed ledger technology. They simply want to take advantage of the hype and get some quick funding before their useless project fails.

The best way to reach investors is to post your pitch on ICO sites and other crypto investment forums, this will give you a good chance to get some publicity for your project. See it as exposure, not promotion. The worst thing you can do is try to cash in quickly and not really have a plan or work towards the projects completion. If you are open and honest with your potential investors, you will be surprised at how many people can help you out. It's all about building the trust first. You are asking them for their hard-earned money, so show them that you are worth giving that money to.
1505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does everyone want bitcoin to be stable in price? on: October 16, 2022, 11:39:42 AM
To be honest I think we need a taste of both worlds I.e stable and volatile as they come with their own pros and cons. A stable bitcoin could easily invite people and institutional investors into this ecosystem but then again looking at it from a traders point of view some volatility would be good to trade as this could be comparable to gold or Nasdaq which are highly rewarding if you catch the right market move.

Sorry to disappoint you, but bitcoin never was a 1-way bet (at least it is not at the moment). The price will go up if enough people think it is valuable and will "use it as digital gold". And the reverse is also true. From the perspective of trading, the volatile market is ideal. From the perspective of adoption, stable market is better. A balance between these two could drive this ecosystem to new heights. That is why I am holding, because I believe in its potential. But the point is, Bitcoin is not for everyone. It has its pros and it has its cons. You need to research if you have plans on being a part of the ecosystem. You should know what you are getting into and be prepared to lose everything if you are just a trader looking to profit on the swing of volatility.
1506  Other / Meta / Re: Having an "I solemnly swear / attestation / liar liar pants on fire" thread on: October 16, 2022, 09:21:44 AM
Well, yes, I like both ideas, but consider this: liars are everywhere. It is inevitable that they will be here. I doubt that such people will voluntarily publish incriminating evidence about themselves here ... at least not if they have any common sense or self-preservation. Liars will always try to cover their tracks. If they admit to lying or confirm their lie and a thread provides proof of their guilt - then yes, they are guilty as charged. If they deny it - then there isn't much more you can do because of the nature of this place. You cannot force someone to admit they are a liar.

So, I think it will be more useful to have a thread where members can post evidence that someone is lying. And just like we have threads to expose alt accounts or plagiarists, I think it would be helpful for members to post evidence about someone who has lied. If someone is obviously lying, and you can prove it - then it would be great if we could have a thread where the evidence could be posted. It would also help if other members could verify those claims and offer additional proof, if necessary. I think a thread like this will help clear up confusion about what is true and what isn't, especially in regards to controversial topics.
1507  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much gambling is in trading cryptocurrencies? on: October 16, 2022, 07:58:01 AM
The fact is that not everyone can trade cryptos, much like how not everyone can perform at the World Cup. A good number of people have no clue how to play soccer, which would make them outmatched in this competition. Likewise, the same goes for cryptocurrency trading, not everyone is capable of it, no matter how much you learn. If you decide to dive into the world of cryptocurrencies, then you need to understand that they hold a fair share of risk involved. There are reasons to be optimistic about them, and there are reasons to be weary. If you're interested in trading cryptocurrencies, then you should always do your research and never invest more than you can afford. Some people have made incredible amounts of money by doing so; others have lost it all. Speculating can lead to big gains, but it can also lead to big losses – don't fall prey to hype and buzzwords in your efforts to play the market.
1508  Economy / Reputation / Re: The Latest Rule is 1 merit per week for signature campaign by yahoo62278 on: October 15, 2022, 02:07:10 PM
Should this topic have even been created?

Probably not. I do not see the point.
But, given how the post ended, I believe the OP wanted to compliment you on your managerial skills.  Cheesy
1509  Economy / Gambling / Re: Euphoriabet.io NO KYC Crypto Esports Betting and Roulette on: October 15, 2022, 01:00:31 PM
I agree with decodx that the platform has no right to ask for KYC since they are unregulated by the government.

Well, the casino has the right to do anything they want, that's how casinos works, they sate the rules and if the users aren't agree to those rules, then they can leave the site.

Well, in this context, to "have a right" refers to being lawful or performing actions that are in accordance with the law. Therefore, I think members here are right when they say that casino sites have NO RIGHT to collect personal data from their users if they themselves are not regulated and in accordance with international or local laws. I mean, they can, and many online platforms do, but that does not mean it is legal or that they have the right to do so. I know, semantics.   Wink

By the way, a big -1 for the thread tittle, that no KYC is a lie.

That is right! I mean, that is so wrong.  Cheesy
1510  Economy / Reputation / Re: The Latest Rule is 1 merit per week for signature campaign by yahoo62278 on: October 15, 2022, 12:14:35 PM
This board for Reputation right? It is assumed that the narration of topics to complain about something (eg: merit point every week) as long as you support the story there is no need to create a topic here, so the most appropriate place is OFFTOPIC or I forgot something. Huh

I first noticed this topic in the Meta board, so I think the moderators moved it here. Personally, I have no idea where this discussion best belongs, but it is definitely not for Meta. Maybe Service discussion would be most appropriate... Since we are discussing signature campaigns.
1511  Economy / Reputation / Re: The Latest Rule is 1 merit per week for signature campaign by yahoo62278 on: October 15, 2022, 08:28:06 AM
The merits system can certainly be a powerful tool to help fight spam and it is about time campaign managers started using it more. I mean, that is what they are meant for, right? And it is a valid one given that many people are not exactly fond of the idea of reading through countless threads filled with spam. Most signature campaigns require five merits in the last 90 days, which majority of campaign participants can meet with ease, but this is not enough so I support this initiative. I believe that yahoo will not automatically kick out members who do not receive a single merit per week, but I am sure he will pay more attention to them.

Is this me or anyone else is also seeing kamvreto is just making the whole things cheesy?

Cheesy? I do not know. But it definitely looks like merit fishing.  Wink
1512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Free faucet and game bitcoin legit 2022 on: October 15, 2022, 08:04:03 AM
I just want to remind everyone to be careful about installing unknown or unverified apps on your phone. Even apps on Google Play are not always safe, as we have seen in the past, and there are a lot of apps in Google Play that are infected with malware. So just be careful about what apps you install on your phone, especially if they do not come from Google Play. If you want to keep your phone safe, make sure to research any app before installing it and only install from verified sources.

And as a general rule, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
1513  Other / Meta / Re: Small poll for BitcoinTalk lovers on: October 14, 2022, 10:30:33 PM
Sorry OP, but I probably would not be interested in this type of forum merchandise. Unless this is something issued by the official forum administration, I do not see much value. Almost anyone can make this kind of merchandise on their own or order it from a local print shop. It would be a waste of money to have it produced by a company we probably would not even want to order from anyways.
1514  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin or Netcoin ? on: October 14, 2022, 10:03:23 PM
There is nothing about the netcoin.org domain listed in the code. You got something wrong there. The only connection between the netcoin.org and bitcoin.org domains, as stated in the article, is that both domains were registered at the same time and with the same registry from Japan.
Yes. In the article it is mentioned that the Netcoin.org domain was listed one day before Bitcoin.org. But in the article does not show proof of registration. And they said that the domain was deleted, then re-registered in 2010. While I provide information based on what is presented on the Whois site.
Whereas in other statements, I only said "assume", which means that it may be true or it may be false. What is said with the word assumption does not have to be true.

I suggest you read this entire topic, you might find the information you are missing.

By the way, what did you even mean by this?

If we look at the two nodes that were developed, then Netcoin was developed one day before Bitcoin. Netcoin on the 17th and Bitcoin on the 18th of August. I assume that the Netcoin nodes are only for testing the main Bitcoin Core network system. But Bitcoin is also developed in a testnet version so it does not require Netcoin as a test network. Another assumption is that someone is trying to imitate Bitcoin with the same node but a different name, namely Netcoin.

Do you even know what the term "node" means? This is pure bullshit in my opinion and you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. So I suggest you stop spreading false information and spamming the forum. Or better yet, stick to the Altcoins board where your crap might be better received.
1515  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam by YoYa for $50 on: October 11, 2022, 07:13:22 PM
YoYa has faced similar accusations before: Scammed by seller YOYA (Hero member) for $65
Interestingly, the dispute was eventually resolved and YoYa returned the money to the buyer, but eight months later!

To be clear, I do not support these kinds of deals, but I am adding another negative to YoYa's account to warn other members who might fall for his scam in the future. It is funny to think that his Hero level account was worth much more than a measly $50 before it was ruined with a negative reputation.  Cheesy
1516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google Clouds Accept Crypto as payments but no dazzling on: October 11, 2022, 05:29:46 PM
Taken at face value, this news might seem like a non-story. But in the world of cryptocurrency, this is big news. Because there are so few large companies that accept crypto payments, the fact that Google is going to accept crypto through Coinbase suggests that at least some businesses on the corporate level are beginning to take cryptocurrency seriously. It is a good sign for the market. Google and Coinbase's partnership will increase the visibility of digital currency, and may push competing cloud services providers to adapt similar measures. This move also helps to legitimize digital currencies as a form of payment, which should boost their adoption rate.
1517  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why not to buy inexpensive "exotic" open source hardware wallets? on: October 10, 2022, 07:14:15 PM
I feel safer with a Trezor due to its open source nature and the fact that it’s made by a reputable company, but if more attractive options are available, I would not hesitate to buy one. But I would look more at features than aesthetics. In the end, no one wants a hard-to-use or uncomfortable wallet, regardless of how polished or pretty it might look. The most important thing in a hardware wallet is that it is secure. Trezor is the most well-known hardware wallet, it is been around for a while, has a reputation for quality and security, and is endorsed by many cryptocurrency experts.
1518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all new Projects are bad, So take the Risk on: October 10, 2022, 06:53:55 PM
A lot of new project has yielded x50 of my investment to me most of the time,

"A lot" is a relative term. If we are talking about the entire industry, then I would say that two or three successful projects out of thousands of unsuccessful ones is not a lot.
So, if you consider the entire industry as a whole, then I would have to say no, not really.

I do not mean to discourage anyone from investing in new projects or coins. So if a new project has something that no other project has, it might work well. Each individual should always do their own research and make a careful assessment of the risks involved in any project. However, in my opinion, most new projects will fail. The number of ICOs is growing every day and many projects are more focused on getting funding than they are on creating a product that people want to use.
1519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Funny way to Describe Bull and Bear Market on: October 10, 2022, 06:31:05 PM
~
I'm getting ready to sell when they headline "Bitcoin is a great technology", when they say "Bitcoin is a terrible ponzi" I prepare to buy...

Yeah, the key takeaway here is: when we are in a bear market - don't despair! While this might seem like a toxic environment for Bitcoin adoption, it actually presents a great opportunity to get in at a lower price, especially since the fundamentals of cryptocurrency are stronger than ever before. In other words, the best time to invest in Bitcoin is when everyone is saying it is dead.
1520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC price manipulation on: October 09, 2022, 09:49:10 PM
Is BTC price manipulation possible? Maybe, but it would likely take a very large sum of capital, or multiple people working in conjunction to do it. For all of the worry and concern, it is unlikely that any one person or organization really has any significant power to impact Bitcoin's overall value significantly. While BTC price may still be possible to manipulate, movements are far less pronounced than they were a few years ago. In the end, I think it is important to remember that someone will always be working to manipulate the market. But when it comes to Bitcoin, this is not an issue worth losing sleep over.
