1261  Other / Off-topic / Re: My Journey with Type-2 Diabetes on: January 14, 2023, 09:20:24 PM
~

My father was diagnosed with type-2 diabetes years ago, and since then he has had to make many lifestyle changes to manage his condition. He has had to make changes to his diet, cutting out sugary and processed foods, and increasing his intake of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. He also had to start exercising regularly, aiming for at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day. In addition to lifestyle changes, my father has also had to start taking medication to help manage his diabetes. He has been using insulin injections and oral medications to control his blood sugar levels. With the help of his healthcare team, he has been able to adjust his medications as needed to find the right balance for his body.

Managing diabetes is not easy, and there are still days when he struggles. But, he is determined to take control of his health and live a long and healthy life. My father's experience with type-2 diabetes has taught me the importance of self-care and self-management. He has shown me that with the right mindset and the support of loved ones, anyone can successfully manage their diabetes and lead a full and satisfying life.
1262  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Trying to scam by the name of KYC on: January 14, 2023, 05:22:35 PM
Wow, I have never come across something like this before. It is quite impressive how resourceful scammers are becoming. I would definitely recommend reporting this to Freelancer.com customer service, as it goes against their rules and guidelines.

By the way, I noticed you previously mentioned sending a copy of your ID card to him. In my opinion, it is best to avoid sending personal information to anyone, even if they seem trustworthy, as there are many potential risks and negative consequences that could result from doing so.
1263  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Address poisoning scams on: January 13, 2023, 09:12:52 PM
Yes. The idea of a scam that depends on the victim copying addresses from their transaction history may seem far-fetched and unlikely to succeed, but people lose money in all kinds of ways. Some people will most likely fall for it if they're careless and stupid enough. I do not think we should give this too much thought. This is not the type of scam that can happen to anyone. As they say, a fool and his money are easily parted.
1264  Other / Meta / Re: (Another) Request: Cybersecurity board on: January 13, 2023, 07:54:58 PM
I like the idea. A dedicated board for discussing the latest threats, sharing tips and resources, and asking questions related to cybersecurity would be a valuable addition to the community. I do not see any negative side to this proposal.
1265  Other / Meta / Re: Bounty spammer meets AI Chat generator. Can they be banned on the spot? on: January 12, 2023, 09:36:55 PM
I'd appreciate it if someone could make a plagiarism report (I would do it myself, here, but I'm late for something, and have to run).

Nice find, PowerGlove and LoyceV! I found another example and made a plagiarism report: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1926895.msg61585468#msg61585468
I hope the spammer gets the permaban he deserves.

That is the best excavator, engineers! Please add an ExchangeCoin coin (EXCC, Equihash 144.5) to the excavator as I have a massive request for you. A wonderful coin is now being traded on coinexchange.io. There is now a lolminer, but he consistently underestimates the speed at which cards are hashed. Thank you very much in advance, and I sincerely hope you will heed my request. I apologize for my poor English; I use an interpreter.

Another example that PowerGlove discovered earlier:

Although some have claimed that the record ranchers may mishandle it, it will essentially make things harder for them, therefore we should be grateful for that!
Currently, all I need to do is come up with a few awesome presents to help me reach 150 legitimacy in the next two months, at which point my actions will raise my status. Tongue

Happy about the adjustment, perhaps there won't be as many postings about novices learning about ICOs in a string for a mineable coin with almost no ICO.

On a hunch, I searched that topic for "account farmers" (which was massacred into "record ranchers") and found the original post that the above nonsense was derived from:

It may be abused by the account farmers as said by others, but it will make it harder at least for them and that is a good thing!
Now i just need to come up with some high quality posts to gain 150 merit in the next two months when activity would rank me up Tongue

Happy for the change, maybe there will be less posts of the type newbie asking about ICO in a thread for a minable coin without any ICO Smiley
1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: January 12, 2023, 08:30:14 PM
Even if the market is bearish, my faith in #BTC never wavers. I'm not just holding, I'm stacking sats! Because in a bear market, the strong-hand investors hold on to their investments. They hold on to them and wait for the market to recover. And with the #BTC's track record of resilience and growth, I have no doubt that it will bounce back stronger than ever.
1268  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first taste of Bitcoin. on: January 12, 2023, 06:40:00 PM
Greetings everyone am so happy to be in this forum.

I agree, it is great to be a part of this community! I hope you will continue to stay involved, because it is always interesting to hear about other people's experiences trading in Bitcoin. For example, do you have any specific strategies that you follow? Also, do you have previous experience in trading?

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and welcome to the forum!

Despite that I'm new and i haven't earn merit, but i believe with research and time i will earn merit, i will be happiest person the day i will earn a merit.

The question, though, is why. Why are you so concerned with earning merit?

You can still utilize most of the features on this forum regardless of earned merits or your rank. You can still post, create threads, and comment on other people’s posts. You can still ask questions and get answers from other members of the community. So why do you care so much?
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it scam/rugpull or not ($QUON token) ? on: January 10, 2023, 10:19:01 PM
~
I dont know that is it right place but if it's not feel free to move it to suitable place (sorry about that) Smiley

There is no need to post the same thing multiple times, you can move this topic yourself. Just use "move topic" command located below this current thread on the left and move it under: Economy > Trading Discussion > Scam Accusations

But it would probably be a good idea to present more evidence why you believe the $QUON token is a scam/rugpull. I have never heard of that project before and so any information you could provide would help my understanding.
1271  Economy / Economics / Re: My investments ahead of the 2024 halving 100% Bitcoin on: January 10, 2023, 09:57:13 PM
You yre a true Bitcoin believer! Some might say that you are "all in" on the digital gold.  Wink Your friends may see potential in other altcoins, but ultimately the decision to diversify your portfolio is yours. By holding the remaining 10% as savings, you are potentially leaving room for future opportunities. It is always good to have some flexibility in your investment strategy.
1272  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for users to try out open orders feature on FusedFolio on: January 10, 2023, 09:13:52 PM
Hey OP how exactly does FusedFolio work especially that you say "The platform lets you view your open orders on all the exchanges you have connected your FusedFolio account" but how does this work without giving you our login details to various exchanges and what real benefit does this come with without exposing personal data??

Many exchanges provide public APIs that allow third-party platforms to access account data, such as open orders, in a read-only manner. By using these APIs, FusedFolio can access account data without needing a user's login credentials or exposing any sensitive information.

With that being said, I will continue to strive and work hard to prove that I have nothing but good intentions and work my ass off to pay those debts I now owe the project teams. It will take a while but I promise to make it consistent.

This is a good sign of maturity on your part, and it is good to see that you understand that it is important to be transparent and accountable for your actions. And, I appreciate you being open to the skepticism and understanding the reasons behind it, given the information that has been shared. People on the forums don't know you and your story, so It is natural for them to have doubts, especially when it comes to issues related to money. I hope you can follow through on your plan and make things right, and good luck with your journey.
1274  Economy / Reputation / Re: I've been hacked (Electrum 4.3.2) on: January 10, 2023, 08:32:15 PM
First suggestion for OP is to think about installing Linux OS on his computer instead of using wInd0wS, and always use ledger wallet connected with Electrum in future.
Linux is much safer if used correctly and attack surface is much less, but even dual boot (win/linux) would be acceptable solution.

That is a good suggestion. Linux is a more secure operating system than Windows, and using it in conjunction with a hardware wallet can provide an added layer of security for your crypto holdings. Linux is less susceptible to malware and other types of malicious software, as it has a smaller market share than Windows, and thus is less of a target for attackers.

But I think that "if used correctly" is also an important part of your statement. If you do not know what you are doing and try to use Linux, it can be just as dangerous as using Windows!

@julerz12, since you mentioned Adobe Photoshop just a friendly reminder, using software obtained from unofficial sources like warez or cracked versions may put your computer at risk of malware infection, which can lead to issues like the ones you are facing. This also includes illegal versions of the Windows system and various "activators" available online. It is always best to acquire software through legitimate means to keep your computer safe and ensure that the software you are using is free from any harmful code.
1275  Economy / Reputation / Re: Merit Overflow of ltcrstrbrt on: January 08, 2023, 08:40:11 PM
Thanks for letting me know. But probably you have not seen all the information on the terms. Creating multiple posts on the same row is not allowed but reserve and bump topics are not included in these terms. Please see the text which is red-marked, thank you once again.
32. Posting multiple posts in a row (excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter) is not allowed.
If this is the meaning of "B.U.M.P" posts, I have nothing to say.
I had a different understanding of what a "bump" post means.

I see you conveniently left out the second part of the rule exclusion. Allow me to be a hero and fill in the missing information for you: "excluding bumps and reserved posts by the thread starter." Sure, now you are going to tell us you had no idea what "reserved posts" meant, right? It's not like it's a common phrase or anything.

As for the rest of your rant, you received a couple of neutral tags from some DT members because of your blatant abuse of the merit system. That is not exactly an inappropriate use of the trust system. So really, what's the issue here?
1276  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BLOCKCHAIN account- Newbie - how to get one? on: January 08, 2023, 07:15:15 PM
If your saying, Euro, then i will pick SEPA Transfers then..and ...assume..the bank transfers it automatically into my bank account into pounds.
I have absolutely no idea how the UK banking system works, but I would be surprised if someone can transfer you EUR and your bank automatically changes it in to GBP. Rather, you would need to trade with someone in the UK who already has a UK bank account. Maybe I'm wrong though.

SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) transfers are typically only available within the EU and only for the EURO currency. Since the United Kingdom is no longer a member of the EU, it is important for the OP to confirm with his bank whether SEPA transfers are possible. (I'm just assuming he is from the UK since he mentioned Pounds.)
1277  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: OLE777.IO Vietnamese scammers stole BIG amount from me. (proof inside) on: January 07, 2023, 09:08:20 PM
I found it here. Bitcointalk admin allows all sorts of scammers.

I am sure the admin has absolutely nothing to do with this casino. I do not see any evidence that he personally endorsed this casino or anything.
As for the Bitcointalk.org forum, how do you expect them to determine which sites are legitimate and which are scams before allowing them to post? They managed to fool you, didn't they?

they are Vietnamese owners from my research. Pieces of shit, soulless people.

I understand that you are upset about being scammed, and I can imagine how difficult that must be. However, it would be helpful if you could provide more information about what happened so that other forum members can avoid similar situations. Do you have any evidence or details about the circumstances that led to this situation?

Even if the site is secured, your data might not be safe outside this site especially if its regulated and the site submitted or all data to the regulator. The best way to protect your assets is to put it on your personally wallet, I'm always withdraw my money and never store any funds to any gambling site, I find this more safe and is a must. Choosing the best site can also lessen your worry, with this Roobet is one of the good choice based on my experience.

I completely agree with you. Personally, I would not want to rely on various sites to secure my assets, which is why I prefer to store my funds (especially large amounts) in reliable non-custodial wallets. It is always important to prioritize the safety and security of your assets. This is why I recommend having at least two different types of wallets: one for long-term storage (cold) and one for everyday transactions (online).

As for the security of our sensitive data, Roobet is a good choice for this. They have a solid reputation that makes them a reliable and trustworthy option. Of course, it is always important to do your own research and evaluate the options available to you before making a decision.

I will continue to learn / bit like a rabbit hole though...things to avoid. I will check back to see if any replies/ an idiots guide - literally an idiots guide though.

I see that you have posted in this thread as well! I had already responded to your question in the other thread.

I am not sure why you keep insisting that Bitcoin is more complicated than it really is. I remember my early days with Bitcoin, and I do not recall feeling as confused as you seem to be. It is not 2010 anymore, and unless you have been living under a rock, I am sure you have come into contact with at least one person who has some experience with cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is not as complicated as people once made it out to be, and I believe that any person who has a smartphone and an Internet connection should have no problem learning at least the basics of how Bitcoin works. There are plenty of excellent resources available, both online and in print, that explain all of this in a way that is easy to understand, and if you don't like any of those then simply ask a friend who knows about Bitcoin. I am sure they will be more than happy to explain it to you, and if they don't know then you can find someone else who does. The cryptocurrency world is full of people who are more than willing to help newcomers, and it is not hard to find them.

Ignorance may be bliss, but it is not going to do you any favors when it comes to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Educating yourself about new technologies and how they can potentially impact your life is crucial, whether that be financially or otherwise. And once you have learned the basics, you will be better equipped to decide if cryptocurrencies are right for you or not.
1280  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What advice can you give to newbie here? on: January 07, 2023, 07:03:42 PM
Inhave this one advise i will like to give you OP in addition to what others have been giving, "do not plagiarize"
~

This advice has already been given to the OP on multiple occasions, including a link to the Unofficial List of Forum Rules that all members of this forum should follow. It is not a problem to remind new members about the forum rules, but it would also be helpful if you took the time to read the previous replies before adding your own input. There is no need to repeat the same information that has already been provided.
