1541  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitstarz is a scam casino (full proof of their actions) on: October 02, 2022, 04:10:21 PM

Yes, but this is the problem with using a VPN. You are only allowed to use a VPN if you are from a country that is not on the restricted list. Since you revealed with your KYC data that you are an Israeli citizen, they concluded that you used a VPN to bypass the country restriction and therefore violated the terms of service. Since you have already asked them if you can use their casino from Colombia, you did not need to mask your IP location with a VPN.

I do not support the casino at all, since their reputation is bad anyway, but I am just saying that you would have a better case if your IP address matched your physical location.
1542  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Paper can easily get ruined, fast. on: October 02, 2022, 12:40:07 PM
Cloud backup sites tend to be secure, and therefore in some sense safer than storing them on your own local computer. That said, I would still recommend storing your important documents and sensitive information on a physical device instead of in the cloud. To be extra safe, you can keep multiple copies in different locations. That way, if something happens to your cloud storage provider or the server that holds your data, you won't lose everything. As with any online service, there is always a chance that the company could go out of business or be hacked. It is also worth noting that some online backup services are more secure than others. And, it is also important to note that sensitive data should never be stored in digital format unless it is encrypted.

In the modern age, where people are so connected via the internet, it can sometimes be difficult to control who has access to your information and what they are able to do with it. Unfortunately, as is all too obvious from recent events, this also means that security becomes a key concern. The truth is that hackers are always looking for new ways to get data, and we all have to be cautious about protecting our sensitive information.
1543  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Newbie! BitcoinCleanup.com is a recommended site to gain Bitcoin knowledge on: October 02, 2022, 12:20:32 PM
Odusko, first of all, I would like to ask you to change the title of this thread. It should say "BitcoinCleanup.com", not "Bitcoinceanup".

Second, although I think this initiative is a good one, I don't think that the site is intended to provide "Bitcoin knowledge" in general; it's more focused on debunking some of the myths about Bitcoin's energy consumption. It may be useful for people who want to learn more about Bitcoin and the advantages of Proof of work (PoW) consensus mechanism versus Proof of stake (PoS), however, it is not an ideal place for beginners to learn everything about Bitcoin.
1544  Economy / Reputation / Re: jerry0 case on: October 02, 2022, 11:57:53 AM
I have a bit crazy idea, but the cheaters are getting more and more advanced these days.

What if he is running a service to create threads so people with paid signatures to be able to reach theirs post quotas quickly and easily just posting all the same bullshit answers?

I hope I'm not giving them ideas...

I do not think that is such a crazy idea. Who knows? He might even have a few alt accounts of his own that he uses to answer his own questions. It is not like we haven't seen even stranger things on this forum. If there was incentive in the form of profit to be gained, then I think it is not such a crazy idea to think that someone might take advantage of it. I mean, you don't even have to be a programmer to create bots and scripts that can answer questions automatically. There are programs out there that allow people with little technical knowledge to do so.

I do not think that there is any evidence to support this theory, but if it were true it would certainly explain some things.
1545  Other / Meta / Re: Why forum search taking years to load on: October 01, 2022, 02:51:00 PM
~

While the forum search feature is not the best around, you can customize it a little to show you better results. For example, you can filter out results based on post's age. Message age is set at 0 to 9999 days by default, so it searches through the entire history of forum. You might want to change it to 0 to 30, for example, and you will get posts within the last month.

Or you can use TryNinja's Ninjastic.space: https://ninjastic.space/search
I am sure you have heard of this search engine before.  Cheesy
1546  Economy / Gambling / Re: Punt.com | Top Crypto Casino | INSTANT WITHDRAWALS | Sportsbook Out Now! ⚽🦵 on: September 30, 2022, 10:24:59 PM
I am sick and tired of fake streamers gambling with fake money and winning fake amounts to promote casinos. This is exactly why Twitch announces a ban on gambling livestreams. Good riddance to them!
1547  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My crypto journey begins today on: September 30, 2022, 04:30:10 PM
Here is an example that you can try:

Code:
site:bitcointalk.org what is "crypto" -doge

https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/2466433?hl=en
Thanks buddy, I always use the above search code to find something important in forums on google search engine, but if you want to find a specific keyword then it's more effective to use ninjastic for precise and fast search will be found from every thread of the board.

Yes. I was wondering when someone would mention ninjastic.spaceSmiley
Despite the fact that the ninjastic.space is not officially part of bitcointalk, I have always been impressed with how well the ninjastic search engine works. I just wish that our forum search engine worked a little bit like that.
1548  Economy / Reputation / Re: ❌ Multiple account Cheater ❌ , He is a scammer, stay safe ❌ on: September 30, 2022, 03:56:01 PM
Both accounts also used the same Telegram username:

Bitcointalk Username: Habibmim
Telegram Username:@Habib1445

Forum Username: RaselShorif
Telegram Username: @Habib1445

Judging by all this evidence, there is no doubt that these are alt accounts. Both of them participated (or applied) in numerous campaigns where participation with multiple accounts was prohibited.
1549  Economy / Gambling / Re: Any experiences with mrSloty.com ? on: September 29, 2022, 09:15:16 PM
We have included this casino on our site.
~

This really says more about you and your "review" site than it does about the reputation of mrSlutty casino.

Fortunately, there are reputable sources online that will warn us about shady casinos like this rather than relying on affiliate whores such as you.

Quote
We've thoroughly reviewed Mr Sloty Casino and gave it a very bad reputation rating, which means it's one of the worst casinos to play at.

This service considers Mr Sloty Casino and the other properties associated with this operator to be amongst the most financially threatening to players in an industry full of unscrupulous and dangerous gambling operations. They prey on the vulnerable and mislead with untrustworthy software dressed up to look legitimate. There are few more foolish decisions a player can make than to give an operator like this access to their personal information.

Did anyone have any experience with mrSloty.com?

I know nothing about this gambling site, and like you, I have not found much information about it online. The only real lesson that I learned from my brief search for information about this gambling site is that it’s incredibly difficult to find good information about the site. Therefore, it is hard say if this site really is legitimate or fraudulent. I also noticed that they have some bad reviews on Trustpilot, which is never a good sign. Although TrustPilot is not a best source of unbiased reviews, but still I think it is better to look for a more respectable casino to play at. There are plenty of other online gambling sites out there that are much more trustworthy and reliable than this one, so if you want to play casino games then I would recommend looking elsewhere.
1551  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How strong are hardware wallets on: September 28, 2022, 06:22:58 PM
~
if thrown away or get lost is the assets onboard going to remain safe if the founder know nothing about the key 🔑?

It depends on the hardware wallet. In some cases, it is possible to hack a hardware wallet if there is physical access to it. There are also hardware wallets that cannot be hacked easily, even with physical access.

If you lost your hardware wallet and do not know where it ended up, you should consider it compromised. If this happens, use your backup seed phrase to immediately move all funds to the new wallet.
1552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can whitepaper still shows the weakness of a project and their team on: September 27, 2022, 09:11:17 PM
One of the most popular altcoin or ICO-related question in today's time is whether whitepapers matter. Well, it does matter.

Whitepaper definitely shows that the team behind it has already thought through the process of their project and how they want to bring it to life. Making a good whitepaper is not a simple thing, but having one just makes us believe in the project much more than if there's no whitepaper at all, or even worse, if it was copied from another project. White paper is the first step that a project team can do to expose their idea to the public and if the white paper is copied, it would be the first signal of scam alert. If a project says that they can do what hundreds of other projects have failed to achieve, then they need to offer something unique and not simply a whitepaper that comes from a template. That whitepaper is worthless.
1553  Other / Archival / Re: Don't worry, bitcoin is cyclical on: September 27, 2022, 05:11:49 PM
Nobody knows for sure if history will repeat itself from here on out and it is hard to predict what the future holds, but be advised that speculation is high at the moment and volatility is expected to remain relatively high for some time yet. Since this is a long-term investment, I like to think that a down year or two is not ever the end of the world. I take this view because I believe in the long-term outlook of bitcoin.
1554  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Successful Journey of Crypto Awareness on: September 27, 2022, 04:59:53 PM
The vision of this forum to enlighten young people about cryptocurrency is awesome. I would always prefer to invest in new trends than the old ones and looking at newbies researches in cryptocurrency, it really gives me a hope for good future. A lot of youngsters are now aware of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, especially with the widespread media attention received.

Anyways, you have started your journey in the crypto world on a very good note and have done a great job to reach this much. Best of luck and i hope that you can make more success in due course of time.

I have so many questions in mind concerning crypto and I want to ask if this forum search engine can lead me to some of the questions, is the search engine on the right side of the screen that capable? I am new on here and I need some guidance, hope I am welcomed 🙇 thank you.

Welcome.

Instead of the forum search function, you can also use the google search engine. Just add "site:bitcointalk.org" to google search to limit the results to bitcointalk.org.

Here is an example that you can try:

Code:
site:bitcointalk.org what is "crypto" -doge

I have seen this image more than once in the forum. I tried zooming the image to read from the laptop but it was blured. What is the post behind this image? A group of account farmers? If yes, how sure are we?
I have seen and being in this kind of formation before, you will know this formation if you visit code camps. Who knows they were misrepresented?

They probably are, but that is not the point.

The point is, every time we hear an account farmer make some pitiful excuse, we can imagine this picture, which is very likely much closer to the reality than what he says.
1557  Other / Archival / Re: [Merit] Help newbies and those who have a little left to the next rank on: September 26, 2022, 09:55:09 PM
I hope I will get some.
Thanks 🙏

Before you apply to a merit-sharing thread like this one, I think it would be helpful if you made at least a minimal effort to participate in discussions on the forum.
From what I can tell, none of your posts to date have been merit-worthy. You need to try harder.
1558  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Borrowing money to invest in BTC ( My own past experience) on: September 26, 2022, 09:27:53 PM
First off, if you are looking for a way to get quick cash and then invest it into Bitcoin, this is not always going to work out. It is important to remember that borrowing money is rarely good for your financial situation and will put you at risk of defaulting on your payments. There is no guarantee that Bitcoin will rise in value over time, so you may end up in a worse financial situation than before. You should only borrow money if it is absolutely necessary, and then do so as sparingly as possible.

My suggestion is to not invest money you cannot afford to lose, not just because of the risk that Bitcoin may not rise in value but also because of the risk that it may fall dramatically. It might be better to save up and wait until you have the money required, instead of putting your financial future at risk by borrowing money to buy Bitcoin. Understandably, there is incredible excitement regarding future investments given how well cryptocurrencies have performed over the years. But that does not mean you should treat buying Bitcoin as an opportunity to get rich quick.

I checked their domain and it was registered on 2010-05-05 and not as mentioned in the tweet.

We have already established that the domain was registered for the first time in 2008, and that it was subsequently re-registered after it expired the following year.
1560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you think blockchain gaming technology will have evolved by 2030? on: September 25, 2022, 06:40:55 PM
Blockchain technology has come a long way since those early days of Bitcoin, and it is clear that this blockchain technology is here to stay. Blockchain technology is about more than digital currency, of course. It is being used for so many different things, including facilitating blockchain-based gaming platforms.

In the coming years, I expect to see plenty of exciting developments in blockchain gaming. Blockchain gaming is already starting to build momentum, but I believe that in the coming years it will be more mainstream. As blockchain platform becomes more popular, and as more companies explore their potential, I expect that this innovation will continue, and it could potentially revolutionize the gaming industry along the way. But as with any emerging technology, until proven otherwise, there will always be naysayers.
