1321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the entire Crypto Market ever likely to be Scammed? on: December 22, 2022, 10:09:37 PM
Could the entire crypto market ever be a scam?
~

Cryptocurrencies are based on blockchain technology, which is a decentralized and secure way of storing and transferring data. Many cryptocurrency projects have strong communities and transparent development processes, which adds to their credibility. Additionally, the market for cryptocurrencies is highly competitive, with many different projects vying for attention and adoption. It is unlikely that all of these projects would be able to sustain a scam for a long period of time without being detected, and this is especially true in the case of Bitcoin. The Bitcoin community is also very large and active, with many people monitoring the project and its developers. Any major changes to the Bitcoin protocol are highly publicized, and any suspicious activity would be quickly noticed by the community. The chances of a scam being successful are extremely low, and Bitcoin has been running for over 12 years now without any major issues.
1322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are you here? on: December 21, 2022, 10:54:41 PM
As I remember, I came to learn more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency through the recommendation of a friend. I had limited knowledge of the concept, so I was looking for sources of information that I could trust. Bitcointalk.org is a good resource for learning about the technical details of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, as well as staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry. The forum is a place where users can ask questions, share their thoughts and ideas, and engage with other users who are interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. This can be a great way for newbies to learn more about the topic and get answers to their questions. This can also be a great opportunity to connect with other like-minded individuals and potentially even collaborate on projects or business ventures.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why there are no cool games on: December 20, 2022, 10:27:50 PM
There are many reasons why online casinos may not offer games that allow players to bet against each other. Online casinos are businesses. As such, they need to generate revenue in order to stay in business. In traditional casino games, the house has an advantage over the players. This is known as the "house edge." By offering games where players bet against each other, a casino would not be able to take a cut of wagers and would not be able to generate revenue in the same way. The house edge is what makes online casinos profitable. In addition, many online casinos are simply not set up in a way that allows them to offer player-vs.-player games. The software they use may not be designed for this type of gameplay and may need to be modified before it can be used effectively.

1325  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reflective Trading Question on: December 20, 2022, 08:07:23 PM
It is certainly true that the cryptocurrency market, including Bitcoin, has experienced significant volatility and a bear market this year. However, it is important to keep in mind that the cryptocurrency market is influenced by a variety of factors, including regulatory developments, market sentiment, and the general economic climate, all of which can impact the price.

Depending on what type of trader you are, this can be a good thing. For some traders, a bear market can present opportunities to buy crypto at lower prices with the expectation that the prices will eventually recover. In other words, even though most traders would not wish to experience a bear market while they are trading, they can actually still benefit from them.

That being said, it is important to prepare yourself for a brand new year in the cryptocurrency world by learning how market trends affect the price of your favorite coins. If you know what you're doing and plan accordingly, even the toughest bear markets can provide opportunities to buy low and sell high.
1326  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ALERT] Returnyourcrypto.com: Scammers with fake testimonies on: December 20, 2022, 07:50:15 PM
I visited the site and here are the instructions they give on how to "refund" your money:

Quote
  • Contact us via Telegram or email.
  • Send us a scam token address, Number of scam tokens available, Date of purchase, and preferably a hash of the transaction.
  • Send us the received key.
  • We load the key and all the information received about the fraudulent token into the script we created
  • Our script interacts with a fraudulent smart contract and after that it becomes possible to unlock the possibility of exchanging coins and your money is returned to you.

By "received key" they actually mean the private key of your wallet. They even described how to export a private key from Metamask. The fact that they are asking you to hand over your private keys should be a major red flag. This should be enough to convince you that this is a scam.

All this mumble jumble only serves to trick victims into giving away their private keys, which then allows the scammer access to their entire wallet.

In any case since my vacations I already set a rule to delete all of his new incoming emails.

Honestly, the best thing to do is to ignore it. Do not respond to him. I do not know what his intent is in these posts, but if the guy is just trying to get under your skin, it is not worth provoking a confrontation over.

I think it would be a good idea to start documenting all of your interactions with him as well, especially given the nature of the messages. Consider speaking to a lawyer about your options. Remember that you are in charge - you do not have to deal with any of this if you do not want to.

1329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's been 2 months and now I am doing well.(I guess). on: December 18, 2022, 07:55:49 PM
Great news for the crypto community, it seems! We are slowly inching closer towards a future that is centralized less around fiat and more around digital currency. Anyhow, I wish you the best of luck with your business and everything you do to support it. It looks like a great opportunity for people who would like to spend their crypto without having to convert it to fiat. It is also a great incentive for others to try out. I am very optimistic about the future of crypto as a payment system for businesses that deal with any form of goods or services.
1330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 yrs ago today a legendary word was born !! on: December 18, 2022, 06:33:05 PM
It's pretty crazy to think that we have been using the term HODL since 2013, but I think that one topic is the craziest Bitcointalk topic ever!

"I AM HODLING" It is your 9th anniversary! Congratulations. Cheesy
1331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I be worried? on: December 18, 2022, 03:42:59 PM
I suggest that you don't waste your time chasing every project out there, just because the description uses some trendy buzzwords. Instead, choose a niche that you are passionate about and that you know something about. If you cannot say "I am not an expert but I want to learn about it" then it is probably not the right niche for you. AI has the potential to completely change our world, and with so many promising blockchain-based AI projects out there, it is easy to get swept up in the excitement. But do not let all that noise distract you from considering which ones have a legitimate chance of mass adoption. After all, if you cannot tell who the real experts are, how will you know which one to trust?
1332  Other / Meta / Re: Is word to word copy paste allowed ? on: December 17, 2022, 10:50:41 PM
Technically, it's not plagiarism, but it still violates the forum rules because it is a zero or low-quality post. I would report any such posts I see to the moderators if they do not add anything to current discussions. There are cases when such posts can be useful, especially if they answer a specific question and the poster is not a native speaker. But such cases are rare, so each case should be considered individually.
1333  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have spent 100 days of my life logged on bitcointalk! on: December 17, 2022, 10:08:27 PM

I had a look at the bitcointalk stats center, and guess what? I know none from the top 0. Though I haven't checked their profile, I'm sure all of them are bots.

I am sure it must be a bug in the forum statistics. 23000 days is over 63 years. Bitcointak.org forum is not that old. (Although it may look like that to some...)  Grin
1334  Other / Archival / Re: 2022 was the second worst year for Bitcoin on: December 17, 2022, 04:21:52 PM
One way to measure the performance of Bitcoin is to look at the price changes over time. However, it is important to note that the price of Bitcoin is not the only factor to consider when evaluating its performance. Despite the ups and downs Bitcoin suffered, the cryptocurrency has grown enormously in popularity. In addition, it will continue to be widely used and appreciated as a form of payment and store of value. Those who invested in bitcoin in 2022 have more than enough reason to be optimistic about future price development.

If we compare 2022 with 2014 and 2018, it is certainly possible that Bitcoin will rebound in the 2023 but the question is how big will it be. There are a lot of external factors that can influence the price of Bitcoin, such as legislation, regulation, the state of the global economy, and many more. In my opinion, it is hard to predict the price of Bitcoin in 2023 but we can make some predictions about what will happen in the next years. In years to come, we may look back on 2022 as another watershed moment for the history of Bitcoin. Let us just hope that 2023 will be better for the cryptocurrency than its predecessor.
1335  Economy / Reputation / Re: It sucks that 1xbit still runs on: December 17, 2022, 03:39:49 PM
Is there no effective legal action that can be taken on the 1xbit gambling platform instead of just telling people not to promote them? Is that all we can do? I am surprised this platform is still running till date.

There were members whom 1XBIT scammed that planned to file legal claims and fight for its closure but we never heard from them anymore, with so many people they've scammed the authorities should close this casino, but they have money and money can corrupt people.

Who do you think should close this casino? As far as I know, 1xBit is an illegal casino site. The site is not licensed by any jurisdiction, and it is not regulated by any authority. This means they have no oversight from any government agency or international organization that could shut them down if they were found to be breaking the law.

Besides, the 1xbit(dot)com domain is already blocked in many jurisdictions. That is why they are operating under a different domain name.
1336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AI answer to how can bitcoin price drop to 0$ on: December 16, 2022, 10:34:46 PM
I liked these answers given by the AI and i don't think there's much left to add about this subject of price dropping to 0 and the chances of this to happen are very low and very close to impossible

As far as I understand, ChatGPT is a language processing model developed by OpenAI. ChatGPT is not a good source for relevant opinions because it is a machine learning model and does not have personal experiences or beliefs. It can only generate text based on the patterns and information that have been programmed into it. While ChatGPT may be able to generate text that appears to express an opinion, it does not have the ability to form its own opinions or engage in critical thinking.
1337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your ideas are strictly needy on: December 16, 2022, 09:53:19 PM
I think Installing a Bitcoin ATM can be a great way to provide an easy and convenient way for customers to buy and sell Bitcoin in your area. But the first thing to consider when installing a Bitcoin ATM is regulation. You should check with your local authorities to see if there are any specific regulations or licenses required for operating a Bitcoin ATM in your area. Another important thing you should think about is security. You will have to implement security measures to protect the machine and the funds it handles. This may include installing cameras, using secure hardware... It is also a good idea to do some research on the various companies that manufacture and operate Bitcoin ATMs, as well as the types of machines that are available. This will help you make an informed decision about which machine is the best fit for your business. Anyway, good luck!
1338  Other / Off-topic / Re: Facts not feelings on: December 16, 2022, 09:01:28 PM
I think ultimately, it is more important to take a balanced approach, and try to address the facts while acknowledging and respecting people's feelings. Neither of these things alone is going to be the solution, or even the key factor in avoiding online trolling. But they are certainly a good place to start. Debate is healthy and important in society, but what is more important is providing quality information to people instead of baseless opinions. That said, if you cannot accept people's opinions and beliefs, I do not see how a discussion could ever be worthwhile. But if you can agree to disagree in this way, then the conversation will hopefully be able to move forward. My recommendation is to approach an online discussion with a balanced approach, acknowledge both sides equally and not solely from your PoV.
1339  Economy / Reputation / Re: Cryptochanger.to Locked SCAM or what? on: December 16, 2022, 08:32:58 PM
We are more than happy to get the feedback and that's the reason why we constantly add more features based on users recommendations, but when posts are senseless trash selling comments that have 0 proof or meaning we have to make a stop to it and that's exactly what you can see in previous posts, where users make trash selling comments just because we're a new exchange i think that can't be fair.

I am a little surprised that you came to this community without any preparation, and that you do not seem to understand how online communities work. Therefore, I am going to have to mark this comment as manipulative and distracting from the real problem.

Please check the first posts and you would understand.
We tried reporting to moderators but we have got no response, that's why wanted to stop advertising our service since we can't fight baseless claims we had to close the thread.

That is bullshit! No serious business should be afraid of criticism. It does not matter what anyone says on the internet, as long as you can refute it with facts and arguments. If you cannot do that, then you are clearly not up to the job.

If there is any moderator reading this please check our threads and review the trash selling posts we're receiving, we would be happy to reopen our thread.

Have you ever heard of freedom of speech? I am sure we can all agree that nobody has the right to punish another person for expressing their opinion in a public forum. Is that what you want? In that case, you are in the wrong place.
1340  Other / Meta / Re: One click and jump in to ninjastic.space [Time saving tricks] on: December 15, 2022, 10:59:51 PM
What is wrong with using BPIP Extension?

I mean, I have nothing against your DIY approach and I applaud your initiative, but I just thought it was worth mentioning that there are other ways to get around using the Ninjastic.space and BPIP.org websites than manually searching by typing or copy-pasting the user's name. BPIP Extension is a much more efficient way and it can save you a lot of time. I would highly recommend it.
