1401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining Machine that makes Bitcoin while you sleep??? on: November 24, 2022, 10:07:32 PM
Put simply: cloud mining is a great way to lose your money if you are not careful. As for mining on your own, that might still be a viable option depending on the cost of electricity where you live. Finally, as always, remember to do your research before putting any money into cryptocurrency mining. If you do not know what you are doing, it's easy to lose money fast. If you are looking for a safer way to invest in cryptocurrency, consider buying some coins directly. This is probably the best way to make money with your investments.
1402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: This whole mess looks like a big conspiracy theory to me, something out of movie on: November 24, 2022, 09:05:17 PM
I am not sure how the story progresses from here (others are following the situation much more closely than I ever will, thankfully), but this incident has all the makings of a cautionary tale. I know you cannot really compare it to something like The Titanic, but for all its bluster, expectation, and initial promise, the ship just capsized spectacularly before many had finished getting comfortable.

On the other hand, we could also see something positive arise from this disaster, as many long-time users and developers could be revitalized by the chaos and turn out some exceptional work. A harsh lesson, but ultimately a lesson that can provide us with a foundation for how to be better marketers in the future.

As for the specific situation here, it is still unclear. A fault of mismanagement, perhaps? Or maybe they simply expanded too quickly, just like many other startups in the field.
1403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin isn't dying, it's alive. on: November 23, 2022, 10:47:57 PM
I do not think its fair to say that the current price of bitcoin is a referendum on its "survival". If you have been following bitcoin for relatively short time, you might feel as if everything is going downhill. The price keeps falling, and as a result, fewer people are using it. Bitcoin, then, is dying, right? Not quite. Although the price of bitcoin does indicate how well bitcoin is doing, it's not the only indicator, and probably not even the best one.
1404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Invest without predicting a time of bull on: November 23, 2022, 10:20:13 PM
It is not wise to invest based solely on the fact that there will be a reward halving in the future. However, it is a good risk to take as long as you are aware of the risk involved. The value of Bitcoin surged after its previous three halvings. Though this cannot guarantee similar returns, we can expect something similar in the run up to next halving, albeit with lower gains due to increased awareness.
1405  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder: Just Like the Internet, Bitcoin will Thrive on: November 23, 2022, 10:11:33 PM
Bitcoin is just the beginning. We have seen the promise of decentralized currency, we have seen it's potential to change the financial world, and yet this is only the tip of the iceberg. Distributed networks will eventually grow beyond financial applications into social media platforms and other areas, taking decentralization and blockchain technology to new heights. It all depends, however, on whether we can get past all the hype and drama so that we can see it for what it really is: an ingenious piece of engineering that could become a fundamental building block of our future economy.

The Internet grew by leaps and bounds because it was a free and open network for anyone to use and build on. Bitcoin is similar in that there really are no costs involved in using the network. There are low transaction fees, but you don't need to get permission from anyone before using it.
1406  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcointalk users owe me BTC on: November 21, 2022, 09:41:41 PM
Any amount repaid, feel free to update the thread with transaction number and get your negative feedback removed.

Both loans are from 2018, if I am not mistaken. But what is the point of this accusation now? Both accounts have been inactive for a long time.
Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with you and understand your loss, but I am afraid this is futile at this point.
1407  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Ca777ino.uk Fake Gambling Website... on: November 20, 2022, 08:34:37 PM
This is probably one of the oldest scams in the book and it is still working because people are dumb. Some random guy contacts you on TG or other social media platforms, saying that he works for the casino site or found a vulnerability and will make you a millionaire if you agree to share the spoils with him. Of course you have to deposit first. Same old bullshit story. You deposit your Bitcoins, and then you get nothing in return. This is a very common scam, especially on TG. Do not fall for it!
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 20, 2022, 06:59:17 PM
~
But now I'm curious, how many casinos out there can actually provide the funds in the unlikely event that all of their users decide to withdraw? Or how many casinos out there that are also secretly using their players' money for investment or marketing or something else?

I do not know if a serious casino would choose to do this, as it presents too much of a risk.

While it may sound like the best of both worlds, in practice this could be a disaster for any casino that decides to take this path. Casinos have their core business, which is making money from gambling. Using player funds for investments in other ventures is not something they would normally do. However, if they did so, they would need to make sure the investment was safe and profitable. If the casino loses money on its investments, then it will not be able to pay players back their deposits. Therefore, I do not think that this is a very likely scenario, as it could result in the casino going bankrupt.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Roshtein fake money streamer or not? on: November 20, 2022, 06:27:44 PM
Most of these streamers make their living by promoting gambling websites and streaming games with fake money. Every streamer makes their own agreements with their sponsors, but in general, they will get a percentage of the money that comes in from their subscribers paying. Some streamers might receive a flat rate per month, while others will only make money when they hit certain goals. However, it is important to remember that becoming a gambling streamer is a lot of work. The most popular ones spend 40+ hours a week streaming, practicing, and doing other things to stay relevant. Even if you are making thousands of dollars per month, you will still need to put in the time required to be successful.

Is it possible to play the game with "fake" money? In my opinion, the money used by the streamers is real money, funded by the casino but the streamers has no full control over the money. They can use to play games in the casino but they are not allowed to withdraw it.

That is the definition of fake money in online gambling.

https://rs.n1info.com/biznis/otkud-narodna-banka-srbije-na-spisku-medju-ulagacima-u-kriptovalute/

Nisam primetio ovo... Jebi ga...

Skoro sam gledao "The Kleptocrats": https://filmovizija.la/filmovi/the-kleptocrats-3592661K/. Definitvno vredi pogledati ako vec niste, kako se izvlace milijarde iz drzave, a kako moze i da se stane na put tome. Zanimljivo da je "The Wolf of Wall Street" finansiran od ovih para.
Nije to nista cudno danas svi od velikih investicionih fondova ,penziskih fodova do nekih drzava drze par procenata portfolia u Bitcoinu

1412  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FTX Scam : Unable to withdraw on: November 18, 2022, 05:43:37 PM
What the hell is he even trying to say here?
That's just part of the Twitter thread as he first spelled "what happened" (each comment 1 letter for some reason) and then  explained in short his side of the story and how he plans to make it right by the customers and other usual bullshit. Thread is here by the way https://twitter.com/SBF_FTX/status/1591989554881658880

I agree it is just a bunch of bullshit. If I am not mistaken, he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy before stepping down as CEO of FTX exchange, so how does he plan to make it right with the customers?
1413  Economy / Reputation / Re: Please check. Account with suspicious username cozytrade on: November 18, 2022, 05:21:36 PM
It's fine to agree in disagreement.

That is exactly the whole point here. You don't have to agree with everyone's opinion, nor is it your place to judge anyone for having one. This is the exact reason why we have freedom of speech: so that everyone can say what they think and have their voice heard, and have it respected. If you don't like that someone has a different opinion than yours, then you are free to ignore that person or their opinion. You cannot force people to agree with you and nor should you try. It may be true that this place can be a bit "rough" at times, but the idea is to keep it democratized.

Yes, he already asked me for money.

Although this is unrelated to your main case, @aew is most likely trying to trick you into paying him money for supposed help with your dispute with the casino. Do not fall for his tricks!
1415  Other / Archival / Re: I won 85,000 USDt in Owl.games casino (OWL.GAMES SCAM) on: November 17, 2022, 10:08:08 PM
On November 13, 2022, one of this forum members wrote to me in a private message and said that he could ask one of the bGaming employees about investigation..

You should exercise caution when dealing with this person. Member aew (alt account of Extrarakeback) already has several scam accusations against him on this forum, so I would not trust him.

Man this was really unnecessary. If i do anything wrong put some neg on me no problem. But what you have done is now make me an imposter in my own account. If you really think i am not that same person just put me in your ignore list. I hope you will think about it and remove that feedback.

There is no reason to become upset. A single neutral feedback on your account has no impact whatsoever on your further participation in the forum.

If you need to take a note for yourself then use TryNinjas self note extension. That way you do not annoy others with unnecessary feedback.

I do not agree with this. Neutral feedbacks are like opinions - they are personal and often subjective. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if that opinion has no basis in fact. Personally, I would like to see more neutral tags that can be valuable to the community. The more people participate in such user-friendly forms of interaction, the better conditions will be created within the forum.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risks of self-custody outweigh the risk of exchanges on: November 16, 2022, 05:41:18 PM
The real truth is that there are very few methods that are 100% safe. Both methods have their pros and cons. It all comes down to risk. The risk of self-custody is that you are going solo. You are the only person capable of protecting your money and coins from being lost or stolen, and that could be a daunting task. But at the same time, if you manage them correctly, it can also be quite secure. In the end, it will be up to you to weigh the pros and cons of each method and see which one looks like a better fit for your needs. But whatever you do, don't trust any third-party service too much. So, to reiterate: keep your coins out of online services as much as possible.
1418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are there lots of accounts that seem abandoned? on: November 16, 2022, 05:20:19 PM
for your thinking about this forum as some kind of crypto-currency center, I think that is not correct considering how many active members we have that give some value to the forum compared to all those bounty hunters who together are worth absolutely nothing.

For the new generation, the concept of a forum is not something attractive, and that is why most of them spend their time on various social networks where, frankly speaking, they will not learn much and have a much higher chance of becoming victims of a scam.

You are probably right. Forums were the place to go for years and are filled with a ton of valuable information to back it up. Unfortunately, they are nowhere near as influential as they used to be. Though that doesn't mean that forums are completely useless in 2022. There are various social networks available on the internet, but imho, the best way to get advice on a given topic is by using forums. You just can't find the same level of quality and information elsewhere. People take their time to write a post, or reply to one, which means that the quality of the content is usually better than on other sites. You can go back and read their posts at a later date, which is another advantage of using forums.

~
I think everything will change when we get a new forum, we just need to be patient a little more Wink

On the other hand, I agree with you about the new forum software. It's about time that the forum get a new, modern design. The current one looks like it was made in the early 2000s. It's boring and outdated, which is not at all helpful in making the user interface appealing to younger generations. I hope that the new design will be more modern, engaging and intuitive. I also hope that the new design will help to increase the activity on the forums, as it's something that we all want to see happen.
1419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many chickens own BTC. Don't be a chicken, HODL! BE A LION. on: November 15, 2022, 09:39:02 PM
Hope is a powerful thing. It allows us to believe in something even though there is no proof that it exists. The hope for quick, easy riches is no different. People will invest in things and programs because they hope for a return on their money. But the sad truth is that the vast majority of people are not going to become millionaires through Bitcoin - and if you're waiting for that to happen, you're likely going to be waiting for a very long time. So basically, don't just "hope" it happens – try to make it happen; but don't expect it to happen overnight.

Did you ever recover said BTC? It looks like the transaction was made to recover it.

I fear this question will never be answered.
Macmacmac0020 hasn't been on the forum for a long time (more than two years) and probably abandoned his account for good.
