I've noticed that setting gpu_max_allocae blabla variable has close implication on HashCount.
So make: set gpu_ blabla=100 in .bat file and next deal with -hc.
I also noticed that -hc 640 in command line made it hc=512 in miner info.
So HC greater than 512 is cut?

If GPU does not allow to allocate enough memory, HashCnt will be decreased automatically, so even if 512 is specified you can see less value, set "GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100" to avoid it.
HC cannot be higher than 512, too much memory is required for higher values and OpenCL fails.

What would be a good setting for 2 gpus rigg? both low end cpu, and midleclass/high end cpu?
Is this your speed up release?  Cool
Happy mining!

Always use default settings, change them only if you see that something is wrong.
If you see high CPU load use "-ss 2". If miner crashed try "-hc 256" if you know that it is not overclock-related crash.
No special setup required, it is easy-to-use miner, just start and mine Smiley

Right, my fault, with -sd.
Just wanted to be your beta tester 2 fast :-D

More stats with my 4x280X rig.

4 cards -hc 512 miners start to eat RAM and finally crash like before.
3 cards - works like before with -hc 512, reaching 113-118 4ch.
4 cards with -hc 256 - its like 80-90 4ch.
4 cards with -hc 448 - its like 85-95 4ch.

So   3 cards -> 330 4ch.
and 4 cards -> 360 4ch.

add power costs... :-D

That's very strange. When I set "-hc 256" I see only minor speed down, may be 4-5%. What CPU do you use? Try "-hc 256 -ss 2".

CPU is AMD A4-4000, best is that CPU wont reach 100% even with 4 cards with miner version 2.0,
-ss 2 is very nice for CPU, no more than 40% total use, but after adding 4th card with -hc 512 it still makes random card start to eat RAM (4GB installed), then start to use pagefile, and you know what's next.

Try "-hc 256 -ss 2" for 4 cards, what 4ch/h values?

"4 cards with -hc 256 - its like 80-90 4ch." those were setting you want :-D

Yes, you wrote it already. But there is no "-ss 2" in your config!

-ss 0 working?
when i use -ss 0 - GPU load is 60% only - not 100%....

Yes, "-ss 0" works. If you get lower GPU usage it means you CPU load is too high, don't use this option.

-ss 0 dont work (((

What about CPU load?

... -p x -di 2 -hc 512 -ss 2 -sd
makes miner crash, removing -sd makes it work again.

You should specify "-sd 1" or "-sd 0", not just "-sd". Same for other parameters.

I uploaded v2.1 to my MEGA folder, see original post for the link.

What's new:

1. Added "-hc" option to improve stability for some cards/systems.
2. Added "-ss 2" option to reduce CPU usage even more.
3. Changed GUI: now with "s" key you can select minimal/detailed statistics.
4. Added estimated and average CPD (chains per day) values.
2230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: April 14, 2014, 02:34:07 PM

fullspeed? -ss2 won't hurt the gpu bandwidth even a bit?

sounds awsome.

It decreases mining speed by 3-4% only.

Your CPU is too slow to handle 6 cards, you should get about 120K 4ch/h for 280X. In future versions I will decrease CPU usage.

Core number is important? I want to try AMD FX-4XXX or AMD FX-6XXX
[/quote]

Number of cores must be >1 for good results. Anyway, I just found how to reduce CPU usage again, so I will add "-ss 2" option back in v2.1, I will release it in a couple of hours.
I see about 50% less CPU usage with this option so you can mine on x6 cards even with slow CPU at full speed.
2232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: April 14, 2014, 01:37:56 PM
My results
windows 8.1 x64, cat 13.12,claymore 2.0
6x280x GPU/MEM 1030/1500, Load 72-90% (avg 85%),  Temp <55C
CPU Althone II X2 250,  CPU load 94-100% (avg 96%)
3 x instant run default setting (-ss 1)
3 x instant run -ss 2
miner speed:
102K 4ch/d stable for all instant
 67-72 7ch/d depend on GPU

"-ss 2" - there is no such option in v2.0, check latest readme, it works same as "-ss 1".

Maybe problem is that CPU is A4-6300 APU?

I don't think so, though cannot be sure. In a few hours I'll release v2.1 with "-hc" option, then try to set "-hc 256" or "-hc 128", perhaps it will help. Also try "AMD Clean utility" to remove Catalyst completely, then install 13.12.
2234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: April 14, 2014, 11:00:07 AM
Thanks.
To see 10ch/day i have to wait no less one day.
But how can see speed in few seconds/minutes? I need it to see results of over/downclock my gpu

Check my messages above, I posted stats for my rigs yesterday, TRT, CPD, 4ch/h and 7ch/h. You can compare my 4ch/h or 7ch/h values to yours and calculate your CPD.
Example: I get about 115 7ch/h and it means about 1.9-2.0 CPD. So if you have about 60 7ch/h you will get about 1 CPD. You will have to wait only about 20 minutes to get your 7ch/h value correctly. You can also use 4ch/h value if you are in a hurry Smiley

1. what is trt? where it is in console?

2. what is measurement in miner/XMP (like kH/s) ?

any mining hardware comparison?

1. TRT is total round time, performance counter, it is showed when you press "m" button, see readme for average values for different hardware.
2. cpd = ("10 ch/h value" * 24).  Approx raw XPM/day = cpd * (11 - diff) * (999 / (diff*diff)), current diff is 10.68. This formula will become invalid when diff will be very close to 11 since it does not count 11ch/h values that become more important when diff is almost 11.
2236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: April 14, 2014, 09:35:45 AM
IMO even if Claymore is altruistic good guy, main problem with his miner is ypool.
This pool is theft ^ 2.
Every pool I mined could be simply comparable to what I mined solo, just following rule 'we keep together to find blocks more frequently'
but ypool... I have 50 XPM from pool and found myself 11 block atm.
Even if Claymore's miner had double fee I would get solo more.
How to call it other words than theft?

I found about 500 blocks on ypool and got correct earnings for them +-5%. XPM mining is luck if you mine for a few days only. For that time you can find zero blocks and you would get almost same amount, and vice versa, you can find many blocks and get much less amount than if you would mine solo. But when you mine for a couple of weeks with several GPUs, stats becomes fair in all cases.
Anyway, I think you will see my solo miner in near future Smiley

Is the Claymore miner built on other coder's GPL code?

No. It is based on "xptMiner" which was written by ypool creator to show how to create ypool-compatible miners. It also uses some parts of "jhPrimeminer" code (that is based on xptMiner too) to show block stats and interact with ypool. You can download both of these programs with sources and see if they GPL or not. You can also find authors of these programs in ypool chat and ask them about licenses, GPL, open source and everthing you want.

Well this is really driving me crazy my other rig again doesn't work TRT on 0 after reinstalling windows i don't think i should do this again.
it happened after i saw Hashcnt below 512 on my 280x and TRT was on 400 i set the gpu max alloc to 100 and from then and until now its on zero and gpu usage 20% no matter what i change or do.

is there any quick fix for this claymore?

I'll post new version within one day.

Have problem with 7870 rig - any time i start miner i have drivers crash. tried to lower threads - same result

1. Install Catalyst v13.12.
2. Disable overclocking.
3. Reboot computer.
2240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XPM GPU Miner discussion on: April 13, 2014, 06:13:21 PM
I'm having some out of memory issues with this miner, perhaps there is a memory leak? My machine has 4 280x, and 4 GB memory. Is this too little? Perhaps it was just a fluke, but I woke up this morning to find the miner spitting out a blank error dialog, and windows complaining it had to shut down the miner due to memory. So far I am frustrated, being unable to keep the miner stable for more than 24 hours. For the amount of time it did run however, it mined coin extremely well, clearly Claymore knows his shit and I am grateful! Hopefully I can figure out this issue, has anyone else had memory related problems?

At this moment I saw this problem only twice on my rigs, however, I was not able to find any memory leaks in my code. It looks like when HashCnt=512 and miner uses about 1.5Gb of GPU RAM sometimes it can cause problems in OpenCL API that cause memory leaks. I will add "-hc" option to specify HashCnt directly so you can decrease GPU RAM size and if it helps it will confirm the reason of this problem. Also I will add some debug log for all OpenCL API so you can post it to me.
