You might have some hardware, but your enormously interesting opportunity is an enormously interesting Ponzi scheme.

Proof?

The proof needs to come from you, you're the one soliciting money.

I don't prove it to people that start out calling me a ponzi.  Had you been an interested investor, it'd have been a different story.

Of course it would. Love the term investor BTW, it sounds so much more professional than sucker.

How about the term "Professional Sucker" ?

2225  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [POLL] How will Pirateat40's debt repayment unfold? on: August 22, 2012, 01:19:19 AM
....
So if you think it is not believable for a government or institution to pay people to go on forums to discredit things that aren't in their interests then you are quite naive.
It's common practice, for instance it's been a major growth area in advertising in recent years.

EDIT: Sorry, that was OT. Voted he'll pay out within a week, he's taking a big risk though. That will be one hell of a balance by now and that's a lot of temptation Wink

nobody knows exactly how much temptation except pirate  Grin
2226  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Closing down on: August 22, 2012, 01:14:21 AM
I will sell my 430 + 30 for 400 if anyone is interested

is there some formula already for how much % these accounts are worth from face value ?

if you really think its going to crash, matthew will bet you 250 BTC in the opposite direction so you could reduce your loss to 130
2227  Economy / Lending / Re: Will you reinvest in BS&T if pirate returns your deposit next week? on: August 22, 2012, 12:58:50 AM
Don't be delirious, pirate will not return your coins, instead he will sell those 500K coins, which will bring the exchange rate to 0.15-0.20 range, according to MtGox depth table.

as if he would sell them all at  once Roll Eyes

he could hold them for years if he does it right and make millions
2228  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 21, 2012, 11:24:41 PM
Guess what? GPUMAX is slow paying out today - Team Ponzi prepare to freak/panic/scream in 3... 2... 1...

GPUMAX has no bearing on BTCST,it doesnt affect the bets even if pirate never pays out to GPUMAX guys Grin
2229  Economy / Lending / Re: Bryan Micon's List of BTC Ponzi Schemes that should not be listed as "Lending" on: August 21, 2012, 12:51:06 PM
I dont believe this theory...........

if it been a ponzi since day 1 ,pirate wouldnt wait until now (judgement day ) to start selling his furniture and making plans to move to another country

he would have designed an exit long long ago .......

there is a few beautiful countries in the you could live in with 500,000+ btcST coins + 30k of his own BTC (like he claims to have )

selling coins slowly @ $10  would leave him millions of dollrs if that was the plan and with that much ,you could be set for life inn a country in south america or south east asia with that much cash and very little chance of being caught Smiley

2230  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's List of Bitcoin Scammers, Shills, and Users Not To Trust IMO on: August 21, 2012, 07:10:55 AM
if pirate pays out everyone next week, doesn't that mean he lost his 5000 btc? it would prove he's not  a ponzi .

if it  were a ponzi ,there would not be enough to  pay back with this far in

pirate may end up pulling the rabbit out of the hat and shocking everyone  Smiley

2231  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Payment Not Delivered by "R-" for Work Rendered on: August 21, 2012, 07:04:36 AM
Nah he was waiting for the price to crash first Smiley

you cant keep unpaid debts waiting because the BTC exchange rate is not to your liking

if mushroomised did the job for the agreed 40BTC than thats how much he should get .......

not 177usd .....
2232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 100% ROI away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: August 21, 2012, 06:44:58 AM
Matthew -- if this is going to ruin you financially...I don't want to take your money...if not, I'll buy Bitcoin Magazine with the winnings.

1)  I love Bitcoin Magazine.  I don't even care that my 1st issue took a month - it was amazing - loved the Satoshi origins article.

2)  I do not know Matthew very well but it seems like this 1 will hurt no matter what business he is in - I do not feel great about getting what I consider a free 100 BTC from a guy who seems to be generally working for good, but is just dead wrong here.

3)  Matt without knowing you very well but hoping to get to know you I advise you stop accepting new bets for a few reasons.  First off, they are all going to cost you money and I just watched some youtube video of the bitcoin show and the host had a mighty somber face when that first bitcoin e-wallet rolled everyone for the coins.  I don't want the future issues of Bitcoin magazine taking that same sad tone.  A second reason you should close betting is because as a function of time your side gets worse and a potential bettor's side keeps getting better.  Clearly you won't accept bets 2.7 weeks in with no payment?  that would just be giving ppl BTC.  Cut of off now IMO, stop the bleeding.

When a guy owes a milly on a monday and all he has to say is this:

[2012-08-20 18:07:26] <pirateat40> Today is the start of a busy week guys, i'd love to answer all the 200 pm's but can't.  I'm around and you'll know when things start to move.
[2012-08-20 18:07:30] <pirateat40> pirate out

I'm pretty sure it's time to cut off bets and minimize the loss.  I'm sure one of the Bitcoin Magazine guys are going to PM you after this.  Listen to them IMO.

Maybe he knows something you dont ........   Grin
2233  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Intersango Exchange on: August 21, 2012, 06:15:58 AM
The amount of money I have lost by the delayed withdrawals amounts to several thousand EUR already. I am sorry, but besides the withdrawal, I will demand compensation on the difference of Bitcoin price at the time I sold it (two weeks ago!) and the time you finally send the withdrawals. The prices when I sold the Bitconis where about 8 EUR/BTC (I made three trades: at 7.99990 EUR, 8.59999 EUR and 8.89900 EUR), and immediately requested a withdrawal, which was just after the 26-30 July that Intersango announced that withdrawals will not be processed. Now Bitcoins are traded at over 11 EUR per BTC. On that difference in price - if I sold these Bitcoins now - its several thousand EUR difference - I hope Intersango has funds to cover me these losses which are clearly and only their fault.

Well given that the price has fallen below what you sold at, will you be paying Intersango the exact same compensation you demanded from them?
+1 Lol.

i have also lost time and money when intersango tied up my funds for 3 weeks so i will not be using them again
an absolute waste of space

User #319 ...FML Wink
Wow, talk about an explosion of accounts, I'm 282 and it's just a couple weeks old.

maybe thats what finally overbalanced pirates books ...........

mass deposits so he assumed he had a lot more to work with ........and then mass withdrawls
when the interest rates were slashed ........

even 4.9% would have been loads if if had been 4.9% for day 1

its  only because its coming down from   7 or 7.7%  does it look like such  a drastic drop ........

a steady 4.9% with no changes and he might have been able to keep it running
2236  Economy / Securities / Re: How much BTC have you lost out on because you listened to Vandroiy? on: August 20, 2012, 03:56:00 AM
if there was an unlimited supply ,coin value would be a more important  factor

since the supply is capped at 21 mil ,you would be in a far stronger position
with 2000 than 1000

effectively owning twice as much of the economy
2237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm giving 200% away to anyone who thinks pirate is a fraud on: August 19, 2012, 05:26:59 PM
why is MICON not made a bet yet ? he should have his life savings on this one Grin
2238  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How Large is BTCST exposure? on: August 15, 2012, 02:47:18 PM

What is surprising to me is just how large a target this guy is for a real hacker/social engineer/thief, in real life.

His name is public, his facial details are known, his place of residence is likely known by somebody with access to county records. He happens to live in a "hacker hotbed" (The Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex).

I would not be surprised at all if he's targeted personally.

I'm sure he uses encryption and what-not but everyone makes mistakes.

I just can't see how this can be good in the long run. My gut tells me if something happens we can kiss goodbye to double digit Bitcoin pricing. :-D

-p

easy to claim a hacker raided the BST coins regardless of the identity of pirate or bitcoin max or the other
2239  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Here's why BTCST won't last for one year on: August 11, 2012, 08:54:21 AM
MtGox has probably sent more BTC than exists.

According to bitcoincharts.com MtGox's 1 year Bitcoin volume is 22,110,652.92!

Everybody knows Mtgox is a ponzi as well  Tongue

ponzi no ,but manipulating prices with "glitches" ? maybe

the most staunch supporters like BurtW and Bitcoinmax

staunch supporter? i think i've been pretty agnostic to be honest.

i've never said pirate's op is a ponzi, but have also never claimed that it isn't.

it doesnt look great that you have refused to identify yourself if you are second in command to  pirate and
some scam happens

"some people know who i am but id prefer not be named on this forum " doesnt exactly inspire much confidence ......

everyone seems to think you are running the biggest passthrough
