2241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How To Base Value of Goods and Services To Bitcoin? on: March 06, 2022, 08:22:06 PM
One question that was often asked when discussing the value of Bitcoin, is whether it is going to have a lot more applications and have greater use in real life in the future or whether it is still just an experiment in economics and it is going to never be widely accepted. I can't say what will happen in the future, but I can say that Bitcoin is already here and has proven itself worthy of being placed in the same category as fiat currencies.

The value of Bitcoin has to do with the ability for a person to trust in it as a currency. There is no central bank to go to for support and stability, but at the same time there is no issuer to try and manipulate or control the market for it. It is all driven by demand and supply; It is scarce and the supply is governed by the protocol which dictates how many Bitcoins can be mined with each block. As with any currency, the value of cryptocurrencies depends on their scale of community involvement. As they grow in use, the value will increase proportionally.
2242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Network is DeFI rightful home on: March 06, 2022, 07:44:54 PM
Come to think of it, isn't BTC the best of them all? Imagine if all decentralized finance is running on BTC?

By definition, DeFi is a concept that describes financial services that are built on public blockchains, so in a manner of speaking, Bitcoin is the first DeFi implementation. However, today, most of the financial services that could be classified as DeFi are available on the Ethereum network through the use of dApps (decentralized applications).

The following article describes it in more detail: What is DeFi? Everything you need to know about the future of decentralized finance
2243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Many projects won't matter in four years time on: March 06, 2022, 07:11:12 PM
if you are a newbie you are welcome to this forum,

But you are also newbie here, right? Your account is less than a month old, and as far as I can tell, this is your first post on this board. So... welcome!

this advice will help you in your crypto journey, make sure you do your own research and choose coins wisely, 4 years to this time many crypto projects will turn to zero as many developers have no good aim for building a world where technology will come to the rescue, they are just catching the cruise of ' crypto is the future ' and using that to farm use amount of dollars off newbies, be careful with what you buy and decide to hold.

Although I am not saying that this is bad advice or good advice, I wonder if you are qualified to offer such advice in light of my observation mentioned above? I wonder if you have any experience in this area?
2244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to the world of crypto on: March 06, 2022, 07:00:18 PM
Hi. I am new to the bitcoin topic, could you give me some advice if now is a good time to get into crypto, or should I wait. Thanks in advance!

The first thing you need to ask yourself is this: what do you want to get out of bitcoin? Do you just want to "make money quick", or do you really understand what you are investing in? The last thing you want to do is get into something that you don't understand, and then try to make money off of it.
Do you understand what bitcoin is? What will your bitcoin investment mean to you in 5, 10 or even 20 years? If you can't answer that, you're wasting your time. Do your research, and don't invest in anything you don't understand.

What the hell are you rambling about? Who hurt your feelings?
Suck it up!

We all have to deal with criticism from time to time, but it's best not to let it get you down or use it as an excuse for lazy work. Perhaps you should try to express yourself better if you want to get people to like your ideas and respect your opinions.

2247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Etherscan on: March 05, 2022, 07:39:05 PM
I had my coinbase wallet hacked and coinbase fraud dept said I can "revoke" the transaction on etherscan. It says in order to revoke (on etherscan) I need to connect wallet. I have a coinbase wallet and have no idea if I can or how to connect it. Coinbase says I can but I dont see how to.

EtherScan is a Blockchain explorer, and I don't know of a single case where the platform could be used to "revoke" the transaction. I'm pretty sure you're mistaken. Is it possible that the coinbase security department tried to explain to you how you can use Etherscan to investigate a transaction? To see where the funds went or something like that...

This simplify the entire topic very well. However I did not know this thing that we always write measurement units in lowercase letter. I did see KG, Pound to be used.

I believe, unit names are generally always written in lowercase. However, symbols for units named after people, such as the ampere [A] are capitalized.

in English and French, even when the unit is named after a person and its symbol begins with a capital letter, the unit name in running text should start with a lowercase letter (e.g., newton, hertz, pascal) and is capitalized only at the beginning of a sentence and in headings and publication titles.

Barem vikendom i praznicima...
2251  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "Bitcoin" vs "bitcoin" | Do we know the difference? on: March 05, 2022, 02:18:40 PM
Wondering how this clarification has come. Is it a rule of English? Or rule set by someone to differentiate the difference between about we are actually talking about.

The capitalization rules for writing currency elements may vary from language to language. But in English, currency names, like measurement units, are usually written using a lowercase initial (e.g. "dollar", "euro", "yen", "franc", "pound",...), and that is why "bitcoin" refers to a currency.

In English, a capital letter is used for all proper nouns (words that identify a specific person, place, organization, or thing). That is why Bitcoin is capitalized when it refers to the concept, protocol, software, and / or community.
2252  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: People hate what they don't understand. on: March 03, 2022, 09:29:26 PM
I see that some people are going after binance and other big exchanges for still supporting Russian people, the thing is these big exchanges understand what crypto is more than the accusers, you can't just expect the exchanges to block off or freeze Russian people's accounts.

Crypto is generally for the PEOPLE.

Crypto is FREEDOM.

You think they can't? I do not think so.

Every single one of these centralized crypto exchanges are regulated and governed by the laws in their respective jurisdictions. In the event that there is a suspicion of fraud, theft, money laundering or any other illegal activity, do you think they will not freeze the account as per the court order?

The same thing applies here. They can (and will) do whatever the law requires.
2253  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Member Newbie on: March 03, 2022, 09:14:00 PM
Most of the Members and Jr. Members are still having the mindset of newbies which they are still ignorant of the forum rules and regulations.

As a newbie, you have to use one or two weeks to read the rules and regulations before carrying out any activities in the forum.

Therefore, there are a lot of members that are newbies in Bitcoin talk forum.

It is so true.

Newbie members are eager to rank up without any regard for the rules of the forum and sometimes simply ignore the warning signs when discussing topics outside of their comfort zone.
To all newbie members, I would like to point out that there is no real reason for this. As a Newbie or Junior member, you can use the forum almost without restrictions. If you find a thread that interests you, you can read all posts in that thread without ranking. If you find that you have a question or something to say, you are more than welcome to share it, regardless of rank or your popularity with other members.

If you are not reserve army, you better get out of Ukraine. Its not your job.

The truth is, this is not how things work when you have to defend your homeland from an occupying army. You should consider yourself lucky if you have never faced this challenge. I grew up in the former Yugoslavia, and even though I was very young, I remember well the war in the 1990s when almost all the adult men in my family were recruited and joined the defense of our homeland. There are not many options in such situations, you can either flee the country with your family or stay and defend it with your life. Personally, I would choose the latter.

No doubt. His PoA posts in just two campaigns are proof enough. There is no way this can be a mere coincidence.

2258  Economy / Reputation / Re: Ukrainian Scam Donation Posts and Users on: February 28, 2022, 07:31:58 PM
The address 3CcF942kYVRotGrfYQxD4QNn4aKVywpRxb belongs to an exchange, more like a hot wallet, so I am certain the past scams used it for exchanging the stolen Bitcoin.

The name of the exchange is Kuna.io, a Ukrainian crypto exchange. What I think is happening is that the Official donation address was created from that very exchange, so sent Bitcoins are being automatically spent off to the hot wallet like most exchanges usually do.

Yeah, that's what I thought too.

When I searched WalletExplorer.com for additional information about that address, I saw that it was part of an extremely active wallet along with more than 700 other addresses: https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/0001973d1acf52ac/addresses

But how do you know it is a Kuna.io exchange? Is there a way to confirm this information?

In spite of the Russian invasion of Ukraine beginning on the 24th, this guy somehow knew that Ukraine would need humanitarian aid even two days before. How is that possible? He had to have some inside knowledge of unfolding events.

Putin, is that you?!

TLDR;

Somehow I find it hard to believe that you knew about bitcoin (even owned it) back in 2013 and you only discovered this forum a few days ago.
I am not saying it is not possible, just that I find it hard to believe.

Its not impossible, I knew Bitcoin through a Ponzi scheme called MMM we were ask to buy bitcoin and deposit it on the platform and it took me 4 years to know that this forum existed.

Oh, I see. Well, it is good you found us.

For me, this forum is my go-to place when I'm looking for information about, well, everything crypto related. There is no other online community that I would trust more than this one as the people posting here have years of experience preventing frauds and scams. This forum has been around for years and is still going strong, and that is a testament to the quality and character of the people who post on here.

Beware of ponzi schemes and take care!
