2241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit Confirms On Litecoin In 2 Weeks, LTC Could Hit $25 on: April 25, 2017, 11:17:03 AM
After much hassle, it has now been confirmed that the SegWit protocol will be activated on the Litecoin network by mid-May.

i say it was mostly plans to work up the market and make so many short term profits in the multiple dips they caused and a lot of profit from the big swings. the volume is clearly showing how much litecoin was moved around.

Why do you think adopting segwit = to the moon?
first of all is a good news hype, that always leads to a rise. and for a big altcoin such as litecoin that can mean a much bigger rise.
on top of that it is a real thing that is happening, it is not like a fake good news. it is a big step forward for a big coin like litecoin to implement Segregated Witness and eventually add lightning network. and that can increase the adoption even by a little bit.
2242  Economy / Economics / Re: One Reason not to be "All Inn" on any Single Investment for Long on: April 25, 2017, 11:10:32 AM
Hmm if you said it like that it sound's true, if you somehow all in in one thing and need money when your investment is down, then preapare to suffer a huge loss. But it's his fault in the first place if he invest all his money. He should left some in the first place for emergency purpose. Putting all your money in one basket is very risky, if it success then you go big, fail and you lose your asset.
Exactly, the risk of losing your money is high if you focus in just one thing. diversifying your investments is really important although you cant take away the risk no matter how diversified your plan but somehow minimize it. its important also to have a cash on hand incase there is a sudden or emergency situation so you wont be empty handed if that happens.

Yeah but most of the forum members who are posting in this thread don have more than BTC1 in their wallets so its better to go all in with one investment. After LTC check the price of ETC. Its now at over BTC.0030. A few weeks ago it was only BTC.001.
That is more suicide move in investment you have no 1btc and then you will go all in .So if you are being scam you will have nothing .a good investor will dont do that move.

Going all in in one good investment is different from investing blindly. Ask all of the posters here who said that diversifying is good what altcoins are good for them. Im sure a good number of them will have scamcoins in their list of investments.

What now is the good in diversifying, if you diversified them on scamcoins?

i don't know about others but if i ever talk about diversifying, then i am talking about diversifying your "money" and that means for example investing in bitcoin and gold and some other stuff like real estate, stocks ,...

and besides the notion of "scam"coin is a bit weird to me! mostly because people have very different definitions of the word. to me all the altcoins are the same. they are there to be pump and dumped and if we are skilled enough, we can make profit from this scheme. but it is not an investment.
2243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europe consolidating itself as a Bitcoin Haven on: April 25, 2017, 11:00:52 AM
Countries like France, Germany and the UK have already established regulatory frameworks for Bitcoin companies, users and traders. Other European countries have offered their unique regulatory frameworks with clarity, to ensure there exists no conflict between local businesses and regulators due to ambiguous regulations and policies like India.

Smaller countries such as Malta, an archipelago in the central Mediterranean between Sicily and the North African coast, have begun to consider Bitcoin as a legitimate currency and revolutionary technology. In fact, Malta’s prime minister announced the approval of a national strategy to promote Bitcoin and Blockchain technology.

In detail, Malta government’s vision is to transform Malta into the Silicon Valley of Europe. The country will focus on the development of innovative technologies such as Bitcoin and Blockchain technology to stay at the forefront of European technological innovation.

Do you agree Bitcoin have bright future in Europe?

very interesting information. specially since it is a compilation of many different countries in your post. i would love to see some references for some of these countries since i have never heard anything about any of most of them to do anything about bitcoin before.
i think this can be somehow related to the effect of what Japanese did recently about their stance about bitcoin.
2244  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins negotiations with Bot's on: April 24, 2017, 09:35:18 AM
and I am seeing some bots that demonstrate success with these negotiations in a simple way.
please explain how did you conclude this success of bots and also what exactly do you mean by negotiations. do you mean strategies and scripts they use?

Quote
I would like everyone's opinion on this, what do you think about these Bot's dealings?

I'm willing to spend some Bit's on it .. Both with Bot as an initial investment to see if there really is profit with these Bot's
if you are new to trading i don't suggest using any bots. first you need to learn more about trading and how it works then you should look for a bot. because in my personal opinion using a bot as a novice trader is mostly throwing your money away.
2245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a new policy on miner's fee? on: April 24, 2017, 08:59:59 AM
I think some people somehow are tricking the system by sending a small amount with the very high fee and then mining the transactions themselves

you don't know when you find a block no matter how big a miner you are, and mining pools share the reward between all those who connect to them. so doing what you say means sending a tx with high fee (high priority) and the next block which may or may not be mined by you will pick it up!
unless you don't broadcast it to the network in the first place and since it is not in the mempool then it is not doing anything, you just mined a tx and nobody knew about it until it was in a block. you can fill the blocks for no reason this way but i don't think it can affect the fees that much.

I heard that for fix this problem, maybe you can "clean up dust", by sending all your btc in one transaction to an address that you own, so your money is collected in one single amount and you don't have too many entries.
this doesn't change anything, as AngryDwarf said, you still have to pay a fee. although you can clean up dust by paying a much smaller fee and wait around for a long time until it confirms (or use viabtc Grin) and end up with only one Output and save up on some small amount of fee.
2246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have my pockets full of LTC and my home boys do too! on: April 24, 2017, 08:53:12 AM
DO you know safe wallet for ltc and the other cryptos?

please visit the official litecoin website at https://litecoin.org/ and follow the links and instructions.

you can run a full node by downloading Litecoin Core. which means it will take up a longer time to sync and download the whole blockchain and will take up space on your HDD (not sure how big is the blockchain on LTC).

or you can use the SPV wallet called Electrum-LTC which is a lightweight wallet, only downloading blockchain headers which is a very small file. but you won't get the full verification.

https://bitcoin.org/en/glossary/simplified-payment-verification

there is also wallets for cell phones.
2247  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bitfinex situation - how long will it take? on: April 24, 2017, 08:41:48 AM
well according to them, they have enough assets to sell and pay all the existing customers in full. so the bankruptcy is even more unlikely to me. but if the bank doesn't solve it soon, these things won't get solved that easily or that fast. it can take months, at least 2 more months unless their bank stop messing around and solves the problem.

people should continue to withdraw and use that "one time fiat withdrawal" opportunity if bitfines allows them.

That is all "according to them", yes. How naive are you? Of course that is what they will tell everyone. They are doing everything they can to avoid a panic and they are doing a good job. But as soon as all the whales and the big traders have gotten everything they have out from Bitfinex that is when the truth starts coming out. It is happening just like Gox. I hope we also get the biggest pump in Bitcoin history with it.

well that is why i included the words "according to them", what other source did you expect! i am not an internal informer Smiley
right now all the information we have is coming from what THEY say on their blog and our own speculation. and what they say can be interpreted in both ways. but facts don't change.
- people are withdrawing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
- in the past, any exchange that did an exit scam they did it with full money and bitcoin at hand. so far a couple of thousands of BTC have gone out of bitfinex. that doesn't seem like a good exit scam strategy to me!

and as i said in the last line, they are planning on offering an alternative fiat also withdrawal and everyone should take that opportunity if they had anything left.

p.s. the "bank problem" that bitfinex has, is also happening to other exchanges. follow the news about OKCoin and BTC-E
2248  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Which is best place to sell bitcoin on: April 24, 2017, 08:35:43 AM
i believe the best way for you is to do it P2P, meaning to find someone else around you to sell bitcoin to and receive local fiat currency in return. you can use localbitcoins.com and it will suggest you some options. be careful not to get scammed though.
2249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good coins I am missing out on: April 23, 2017, 12:00:09 PM
yeah obviously bitcoin! Shocked

Ofcourse, I am holding a huge amount in BTC. I do trading for only 10-20% of my BTC equivalent.

LTC just recently had a good news, so it's really jumping well.
ok then, this is even better.
specially since Litecoin is on the rise and also bitcoin is on the rise these days, that would be like double profit.

Also, I have some coins in ICO Humaniq

I never liked any ICO. it is way too risky in my opinion.
2250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have my pockets full of LTC and my home boys do too! on: April 23, 2017, 11:45:47 AM
as an investor, people should have bought it when it was low. in other words you always buy when everyone is silent about the coin. and if you missed the chance to buy then you should buy as fast as possible then if you missed it again you have to stay away and watch the price go up to $50 and start regretting why did you listen to some FUD and didn't buy.

I bouught at $6.60, wish I would have bought when it was $4.00. I know a lot of people sold off a few days ago, because the signalling was going down, but things have changed in the last few days. I actually, held my breath and held. I am glad I did.
I bought it at 4 and sold at 4.50, imagine my feelings right now  Cry
But the people who have kept it, must be feeling great right now. Its already at the moon and chances are, its gonna keep going.
Not sure if there is still time to get in though, kind of risky to buy at the moment I feel.

what feeling? are you talking about the good feeling of making a successful trade? or the good feeling of making 12.5% profit over a very short period of time?
unless you have been gambling with the price and buying to make a bet and see if it goes up or not and then sell, i say you made a very good trade and made a good profit.

yes, you missed some profit but i repeat again you made 12.5% profit!
and it is still not too late to buy and sell at another 12.5% profit.
2251  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Yobit 2fa on: April 23, 2017, 11:36:36 AM
just do yourself a favor and stop using Yobit!
try many other exchanges that are far better than that place. you can try smaller exchanges if you like such as c-cex or cryptopia or bigger ones such as poloniex and bittrex. they all have a proper website, with a decent API and 2FA and a working support and there is not much shady stuff going on in any of them.

but as for your question. i think they changed some stuff about their website, which may be the cause of https going away! i checked it and for some reason it asks me to fill in a captcha to open the site!
and for the 2FA key you only have to contact support and hope they answer you in less than a week.
2252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OKCOIN also having problems with USD deposits on: April 23, 2017, 11:29:45 AM
so is this an epidemic or what! Smiley
it seems like banks are targeting all the bitcoin exchanges, and they don't seem to be able to fix it for the time being.
do you think it is because of regulations, and the fact that they are not regulated? or is there more to this that meets the eye?

maybe this time, we start thinking more seriously about some better exchanges to use for trading bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

2254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Antpool officially mines a segwit block for LTC on: April 23, 2017, 11:16:13 AM
As you pointed it out, what seems really strange here is that AntPool signals SegWit for Litecoin and not for Bitcoin...

nothing strange. it may even be a start to signal it on bitcoin too. you know bitcoin and litecoin are different despite having so many similarities.

in any case this was a good news, the last 24 hours blocks show ~98% support for SegWit on litecoin.
2255  Economy / Speculation / Re: effect of Japan on bitcoin price speculation on: April 22, 2017, 09:36:20 AM
Japan may set examples for rest of countries to adopt a decentralized system. I am expecting when 60k merchants from Japan adopting bitcoin payments, we can expect prices to reach $3000 to $5000 levels.

For those merchants in Japan accepting bitcoins, we need customers willing to pay in bitcoin as well.
My hope is that Japanese people will use the possibility to pay that way and not only hold their coins as a form of investment.
When the given payment option is not used, merchant will remove it again.
And that would be not a very encouraging signal to the rest of the world.

It is highly expected Japan already has significant number of bitcoiners who will be ready to utilize those merchants. Moreover bitcoiner base is relatively not important as of now as merchants will be having bitcoin payment as one of the optional payment system not the only one payment system, merchants will be depending on. So, even less number of bitcoiners also will give some business to those 60k merchants.

I believe this current rally is due to Japan's recent stand on adopting bitcoin system this may lead to new ATH too. I am speculating prices may reach $1500+ levels if we do not hear any negative news on sociability issues.

it is always expected that a change happens when there is enough demand for it. a country adopting bitcoin like this in a massive scale doesn't happen just because a small group of people were using bitcoin. there surely must have been a large demand for it in Japan that led to this decision.

and i also say that this rally is partly because of Japan, i don't know about hos much it will go up though, there are too many things to consider. the block size FUD, the Bitfinex thing, any other new unpredictable thing positive or negative!
2256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH PoS repayment on: April 22, 2017, 09:30:42 AM
iam new user ethereum
is realy if ethereum pos coin, only hold coin in dekstop wallet can get rertun
i think ethereum only pow coin, only mining can get etherum without POS coin

i have never used a POS coin myself but it is my understanding that the "reward" is not given to you just for having that coin in your wallet, you will have to be running the wallet as a full node and verify and  relay transactions in order to get that reward.
and running the wallet is not an easy or cheap thing to do both because of electricity and network traffic cost.

Any good coins I am missing out
yeah obviously bitcoin! Shocked

I just started trading cryptocurrency, and the following are my coins:

Dash and Ethereum and Ripple, and Zcash are not so good at this point to keep your money in them. they are in a bubble and there is a good chance of bubble popping and price going down big time.
even if they rise the rise won't be as big to give any decent profit with altcoin pump standards at this point.
Monero is not such a bad choice but i can not see that rising more than this either. (at this point)
i am not watching Stratis and MAID right now so i can't say much about them.
POT is good but it recently was pumped, so again it is highly unlikely to see any pump for months.
Steem was also recently pumped but the pump wasn't as big as i hoped, so it may go up or it may stop there, again risky.
Lisk is good in my opinion since it has not been pumped yet (apart from a small rise) so it has a potential to get pumped. i also have invested in it.
my most investment these days is in litecoin though, it has been having magnificent swings making it good for short term trading but also risky.

Quote
The top 6 are bought for long term holding, and the rest 6 are to sell when there is a good high point.
the bold part is a very big mistake in my opinion. you should never hold altcoins for long term if you like your money.

Quote
Any suggestions on the coins I have or any good coins I am missing out?

there are random coins that are getting pumped daily, find them and make short term profit Smiley
example: BAY (97%) - SWT (129%) - DBG recently 100+% and now 33% today.

there is also a new coin called PIVX that i personally like and think has a good future.
2258  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC up??? on: April 22, 2017, 08:55:28 AM
it sometimes feel like people have forgotten what bitcoin is!

the words like "BU/ Segwit and dev roadblock." have no meaning when it comes to using bitcoin and the price and the bitcoin as an investment argument. all these are noise in the great scheme of things and when it comes down to the long term price rise. and we are already behind on the rise and we need some catching up to do.

lets go up to $1350 and test $1400 and then after the rise we will start the FUD about "BU/ Segwit and dev roadblock" and then then buy back cheap coins again at $1260.
2259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reminder: Be Open and Helpful To New People To Bitcoin on: April 22, 2017, 08:49:57 AM
it is always hard to find the balance between introducing bitcoin to someone new and misinforming them about bitcoin. for example the worst thing i have seen is usually about mining. i have hear it being described in the weirdest ways.
for me, i will always stick to simplicity, bitcoin is money and you don't need to create an account with a centralized authority like a bank or paypal website for example and you are in full control of your money and how you spend it.
if they ask me about technical stuff, even if know it and i could explain, i try not to. instead i asked them whether they know how an ATM machine works, if you don't know it down to all the details you don't need to do the same with bitcoin either.
