Also, think of it this way: all premined coins go to giveaways. Ok, so if you get given 20k from the premine pool just for posting your wallet address, or up to 500k for supporting the coin, how much you should get from actually developing the coin and website and working with all the stuff that is involved with all that 24/7... nothing? 50k?
That sounds like your problem. How about you mine from the start to pay the developer? Or ask to raise funds from the community? Premining isn't ok. You are asking miners to give you money essentially. It also hurts the coins future meaning you devalue your coin too. It is a pump and dump tactic, you know that already but chose to do it anyway.

No one will mine your scam 30% premined coin. You can explain it to yourself however you like, premining is not fair and is scamming the community. Just mine from the start and amass coins to give away like everyone else.. or is that not get rich quick enough?

It very much looks like we could have a sharp drop soon.
Or a sharp rise. If china is in play, we are $500 under valued!

So is GPU Mining actually better than CPU mining for quarks? I haven't seen any great sucess stories yet.

Igotspots seems to have gone AWOL. Either he is ignoring the above people who claim not to have been payed, or he is doing stuff behind the scenes. Given the timelines he has recently mentioned all being rubbish, it seems like it is the first.

66 page thread for a premined coin? The pics are nice and all but really?

You can setup an altcoin, but you don't even know how to setup a pool?
No he can't setup a coin, he doesn't know how to mine or how a pool works, the coin has a great future though!

Yeah, they aren't a scam, unless they are playing a very long game!

The problem is that lots of premined clone coins are being released, everyone knows that they are scam coins, but loads of people immediately mine them anyway. Atom is a prime example. Not every coin needs to be gold, but it seems like CPU coins in particular are being spat out at about 5 a day.
Look at the quark clones. Frozen was released to counter the quark instamine, fair enough. Then molecule, premined crap which was forked, to be fair, so the dev released Atom, which is still premined crap. Now there is seconds, which has an infinite supply... No doubt more will follow and add nothing, but the difficulties of all of these coins is high, so why wouldn't someone bring out another quark clone?

It isn't very easy to predict short term. When bitcoin exploded above $250 all the alts were very badly hit. There are still threads lurking about LTC dying as it was about $2. Then at some random point, people decided it was time to branch out again into alts. They skyrocketed hundreds of percent. Now we are following big brother bitcoin again, but who knows what comes next!

Obama really is a dreadful president. He gets caught out lying and spying on his allies, but it isn't that America is at fault, just that Snowden has hurt the country. I think the truth has hurt the country and it is time they take a good long look at themselves, otherwise they could end up being moved aside in future global politics.

I think a few CPU and GPU coins will make it, but it is very hard to say which. Primecoin, litecoin and peer coin look like they are here for the long run, quark seems the favourite of the new CPU only coins, despite it's fast mining. The lack of future incentive to mine might be an issue though.
One or two other CPU coins could succeed in my opinion. No idea which though unfortunately. I think the name of the coin is very important, can you imagine a coin with a "funny" name actually being globally used?

I thought fiat leak just showed the amount of buying, not really how much comes from fiat...

I think they will continue to be treated as commodities.

At last. It has a far better future than then university of Texas coin!

Atom coin is a scam coin. Molecule was premined, then someone fixed it, so he released it again premined, as Atom. The dev is just desperate to premine a coin and scam money out of people. It is best ignored. Molecule is a fair coin, but only accidentally, the dev is still a scammer.

There are some Developments that could and should be made in alts, that will offer true advantages over LTC and btc. I hope when a great new coin is released, it isn't drowned out in a pool of rubbish.

amd opteron 6200 series 6276 16 core 2.3Ghz
how much khash? quarkv2.2w64 ?
Would it not be quicker to just start mining and see for yourself? It's dead easy really.

I love this. Some idiot wants to release a scam coin but hasn't got a clue. A bit like Molecule really.
