1261  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Beware of third wave feminism. on: April 15, 2015, 10:41:20 AM
Feminism is a joke.   They only want things to be equal when it is advantageous.
That's not just feminism to be fair.  Everyone wants equality when something is working against them, whereas when the system leans in their favour, they somehow don't have a problem with it!
I wonder how many of these feminists would be happy to lose their job due to affirmative action of someone else?

Maybe I just see things through my white male glasses, but I don't see that anything is holding women back, except biology, and that isn't going to change anytime soon.

How is the biology is affecting it?
Anyway, the answer to all the Women from Men against Feminism should be equality where no gender is above the other gender.

I meant that women can bear children, men don't.
That means that if the human race is to continue, women will have to have time off work to have children, this will slow their career progression.

There are also other biological differences between men and women, whether they affect career progression is questionable, many think women are better as they are less cut throat, some thing being cut throat is a positive thing.
1262  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Vault Coin Twitter Contest on: April 15, 2015, 10:36:30 AM
Win a FREE Vault Coin Twitter Challenge!

Rules:
  • You have to follow us (twitter handle @mycryptovaultne
  • The tweet has to include a link to our website www.mycryptovault.net
  • The tweet has to include @mycryptovaultne at the end of the tweet (so we can track the contest entrants and to ensure your followers see the tweet)
  • Everything else goes!

The winner is the tweet with the most retweets!  And will receive their very own Vault Coin (free shipping)!

The contest starts NOW and will end April 10th, Midnight Eastern Time (US).
Just a tip, offer awards for skill or through luck, if you offer something to the person with the most likes/retweets, someone will cheat to win.
You can buy 1000's of twitter followers or accounts for very little money, then they can all retweet.

If that is what you are after, all good, but no honest person will win this contest.. I am >99% sure of that.

Hate to say I told you so, but I told you so!
the original person will have retweeted it, but essentially no one (of interest to you) will have seen it.

next time make is a pure chance game and more people will be inclined to enter.

To stereotype, those born in the 80s and 90s, like me, are more tech savvy and willing to try new technology and be ahead of the crowd. We hope it takes off and we will have been involved before it was big.

The people born in the 70s are more liberal minded and like being involved with something that isn't mainstream and not giving money to the man!

The first group should be more likely to bail if things don't look like they are going well, the politics of bitcoin shouldn't change though, so the 70s babies should hang around longer. Maybe they are more patient too!
1264  Economy / Speculation / Re: On a positive note... on: April 15, 2015, 10:27:23 AM
In fact, if it bounces hard off that double bottom on strong volume, I could see V recovery back to the all time high in no time
Optimistic!  This is why I can't understand techincal analysis, the price falling to a low point twice indicates that it will go up in value?
How does that work then?

I still predict $400 thsi summer, but the market sentiment is poor at the moment, and I don't know why.
1265  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Venezuelan Economy on: April 14, 2015, 08:36:01 AM
How can I use Bitcoin to take advantage of the economic unrest in Venezuela and turn a profit? I'm not interested in any kind of trading exchanges.
You could buy Bitcoin now, wait for the S to hit the fan, then sell bitcoin at massively increased rates when people are desparate to get their money into anything other than fiat.
There are no guarantees that people will flock to bitcoin though.

It is not exactly the initial thinking behind bitcoin either. If you asked how you can help people in Venezuela, then it would sound a bit better, rather than trying to exploit them when they are down!

1267  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek officials have previously pointed to Russia as a possible alternative sour on: April 14, 2015, 08:22:23 AM
If they help out Greece it will be very interesting, their GDP per person is lots less than Greece's, how often have poorer countries bailed out richer ones?

I would say it is comparable. On a PPP basis, Russia has a per capita GDP of $24.3K vs Greece's $25.1K in 2013. I guess 2014 figures would be a lot worse for Greece.  Tongue

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_%28PPP%29_per_capita
I'm not sure about that, Russia hardly had a great 2014 with so many sanctions against them and the price of oil plummeting!
Greece has slowed their decline, there was a time last year when they were the fastest growing economy in the EU, that's a bit like a tallest dwarf competition, but it was the case (I think in Q3 2014)
1268  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin solo mining with cpu on: April 13, 2015, 01:55:35 PM
hi there, i just want to know if there is a chance that i can find a block even my hashrate is 2231 khash/s?

I had the same idea, I love the thought of the pop-up coming and saying that I have mined a block, but unfortunately it is near impossible.
I turned on the mining in Bitcoin-qt on my crappy old PC, left it for a few hours, then got sick of my PC running even more slowly than normal, so turned it off!

I doubt you have the patience to really give it a go, and if you do, you will still find nothing! so I guess I wouldn't recommend it!

*** Only 50% Commission for this Sunday ***

Try our platform today with this little incentive.
Campaign valid for all markets until midnight UTC (of monday)

Good luck

What is your commission structure? Is it like betfair in that commission is only charge on the end market result, not on each trade on a market?
Do you have in-play betting, if so, what delay do you have on the bets being accepted?

Sorry if these are dumb questions but I am at work at the moment but would like to try out your website tonight.  I didn't know there was a bitcoin betting exchange, I used to work for betfair and think bitcoin is perfect for a p2p betting exchange.
1270  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian army that never been in Ukraina bring back some trophy to Russia ... LoL on: April 13, 2015, 01:38:27 PM
I would guess that the "Russian trolls" would say that that wasn't stolen by the official Russian army, rather by Russian people who are fighting in Ukraine.
As far as I am aware, no one debates the fact that Russians have been fighting in Ukraine, what is debateable is if the Russian army has been fighting in Ukraine (whilst on duty, thus paid to do so by Russia)

It's not quite as easy to define as you would think!

Still, someone in a position of authority should get this monument back to Ukraine.
1271  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Net Neutrality in India on: April 13, 2015, 01:35:09 PM
I've been to India multiple times, and I have never liked the broadband facilities there. A decent connection (512 Kbps, i.e 64 KBps) costs as much as $25 and the service is really bad. In my country, I pay half of that amount for a 50Mbps connection!!!!

Can I ask you where do you live? Here in Italy at the moment I'm paying 45 € (two months) for a 20/5 Mbps and I don't think it is too much.

However I have some friends that live in India and they always tell me " my connection is very bad, and we pay too much". As in almost all the Asian countries.
I pay 20€ a month for 32/2 in Germany, I wouldn't expect India to have a great broadband service, but I didn't expect that it would be really expensive too!

I would be interested to know if in the bigger cities this if different, I mean 4g is much faster than 512kb/64kb, so it shouldn't be hard to implement in big cities.
1272  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: desperately want bitcoin on: April 13, 2015, 01:31:32 PM
I have to buy some bitcoin or doge and i dont give a fuck.

K, so, i have an overdrawn account and 24 CAD dollars on paypal, whcich is useless as fuck in my accound because it's overdrawn 50 so i wwanted to invest in some cryptos and i will email it to you and you can email me the bitcoin equivelent of that dollar value.

why must it be so hard?!?!?!?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?

If you have an overdrawn account, I would suggest moving the 24 dollars to that account and paying it down as much as possible.
Or if you need to, use that 24 to get food!  You shouldn't be 'investing' in crypto with 24 dollars if you have an overdrawn account!.

Wait until you have some spare money, then invest, unless you just want to use your 24 bucks for dodge activities of course!
1273  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 13, 2015, 01:29:00 PM
It looks like really slow/boring downside movement, where we will test support around 200-220..if we break that support, damn, it will take long time before we will truly reverse the bear trend...my crystal ball told me that this morning

so i am placing buys on 20 BTC @ 180...do you think its too low / or still too high??

I´d say too high, entire movement since january seems now like H/S pattern, which would point to lower lows 90-130. However 180 is safe bet unless you go in leveraged, bitcoin should recover fairly quickly after crashing to bottom.

Many people predicting 80-120 prices...i somehow refuse to believe that after so great fundamentals and difficulty x times higher than 2013 summer,  i would buy in the same range i was buying most of my coins...i will probably go like 80% of my money to 160-180 and 20% i will hide for the final crash to 100-120 but i really don't believe we will go that low...

If we don't find some buying pressure at $200, a dip to $140-150 seems plausible.
As would a rise to $250 again.  It's a crapshoot at the moment, the amount of money moving into the Bitcoin environment is rising greatly, but apparently the amount of bitcoin being bought up is low, thus the price is falling.  I remain bullish and will buy more at sub$200 if that happens any time soon.
1274  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek officials have previously pointed to Russia as a possible alternative sour on: April 13, 2015, 01:26:54 PM
Greece may get some help from Russia, but I wonder what Russia will ask in return. Nothing's free.

I think a bit better reputation would be enough
Not for Russians, they don't care about their reputation or how western nations are perceiving them. They just want to dominate and rule others. It would be a grim day when Greece will become another Russia's tool.
Honestly it would be best for Greece to just leave eurozone and abandon European Union. They need to test how to deal with Russia without losing more than they have in the process.
I see Russia as more of the wildcard that goes against what the west wants.

They don't do everything right, for example gay rights and dodgy elections, but I like a lot of their politics.  They are moving towards a gold backed currency and are generally against getting involved in wars (that aren't on their own doorstep).  As I say, they aren't perfect, but there are lots of things we could adopt from them.

If they help out Greece it will be very interesting, their GDP per person is lots less than Greece's, how often have poorer countries bailed out richer ones?
1275  Economy / Economics / Re: ECB keep Greece on the rack on: April 13, 2015, 01:23:28 PM
So if I understand this correctly, this is another dog and pony show before the ECB starts outright buying Greek bonds?
The bond price isn't really the issue, they are running a deficit still and have over 100% dept:GDP ratio.
They aren't growing and have essentially destroyed their own economy by cutting as they were told too.

Greece needs to start afresh, but they seem intent to continue kicking the can down the road and screwing over their population.
1276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2015, 01:21:25 PM
i've been around this community a few years and i still don't get why anyone would chose bitcoin.

don't get me wrong i believe in an alternative p2p currency, but to me bitcoin certainly doesn't cut it.

about the only answer people have is first mover advantage. but that's pretty much it.

bitcoin seems to, over time, be drifting more into a centralised system, core dev team where so few as 5 completely control the code, backed by what has come to light time and time again a very questionable central organisation.

have VC with their little startups jumping on board left right and center, and we know their goals  Kiss, bitcoin's heading more and more like being the bank product it was meant to be an alternative to  Shocked

seems the only way to back bitcoin is keep your head it the sand and hope it'll all turn out good in the end........
Network security comes with that first mover advantage, you can't easily replicate that.
It is the test pad for cryto in the real-world, if bitcoin fails then this generate of crypt will fail, if it succeeds, then others can too on it's trails.

If it is going to succeed, it will have to be more mainstream, it can fail and stay very liberal, insecure and hard to use, bit that will be a failure.
1277  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Going across borders with....knowledge of a private key? on: April 10, 2015, 01:04:58 PM
One thing I would point out there was acually a guy ages ago that tried crossing into America but they said he didn't have the amount required to stay there even though he had it in Bitcoins.

That's pretty funny, and fair enough really!  Couldn't he just have traded it for USD then gone in? Surely he couldn't have assumed that his bitcoin would count towards the amount required to stay in the US.
If you just keep your private key written somewhere, they will never know that you have it.  I also don't know if they would know how to find out how much you had in your account as you travel.

It makes bitcoin quite useful for the rich who want to be mobile with large amounts of money, though apparently they aren't buying in too much at the moment!
1278  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining and bitcoin price on: April 10, 2015, 12:48:33 PM
I have a question, and maybe I'm overlooking something, but I've heard about the potential troubles of miners going out of business when it's no longer profitable to mine because the bitcoin price is too low. And then people say this means trouble for bitcoin. However, with less people mining, wouldn't this help push the bitcoin price up? If less coins are being mined, then less supply would be being created.

Then again I know that supposedly exactly 3600 bitcoins are produced each day. I think I might be missing something. Someone please help me understand.
There actually would be a reduction in the number of bitcoin minted, but only in the short term, the difficulty would change accordingly and soon enough we'd be back on track.
The same has happened in reverse a lot of time, especially when a new ASIC is released.

I don't think that the price to too low for people to mine, I just think that it is a global market, and some people are willing to work on wafer thin margins with zero electricity costs, so your average miner can't compete, it will be the same when bitcoin costs thousands of $
1279  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW Mining sued for breach of contract on: April 10, 2015, 12:45:21 PM
SUED by mississippi electric company for not paying bills. How much of a scammer is Josh Garza?

http://www.coindesk.com/gaw-miners-breach-contract/
How do you not pay your electricity bill as a large electricity using company?
I thought they would cut you off pretty swiftly if you didn't pay.

I think that would happen to me if I didn't pay my bills! or at least that is what I was always told.

site not loading, betting on a bet then page not loading anymore x_x

I don't have problem loading Directbet, and I would suggest you to try using VPN or Tor broswer to see if the problem is related to your IP.
It's not loading for me either.  When it is up agains, is there any chance of getting a top 3 market for Paris-Roubaix?
Is so, do you know when it will be there? (it could be now, but as I say, I can't load the website!)
