2261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tenants to pay rent with bitcoin on: April 10, 2021, 09:44:43 PM
That's a good use case for bitcoin but if I'm a tenant, I'd love to use bitcoin only if I'm totally out of cash. But as much as I can, I'll keep it. Needless to say, this is what we want when an establishment, business, or company starts accepting bitcoin as payment.
If i am a landlord and i am planning to accumulate BTCitcoin then i want to get my tenant to pay when the price of BTCitcoin is low rather than accumulating when the price is riding on an all time high valuation because then the risk is on my side if there is a major correction and i needs to convert them to fiat before accumulating them once again.

We will see more news like this in the future and it is not that surprising now as everyone already jumped to the cryptocurrency bandwagon  Grin.

Pakistan won by 4 wickets with 1 ball left, I can imagine the excitement. Mohammad Rizwan played a match winning innings, only player hold the bat till the end until secure the win. Thanks to Hasan Ali provides the much needed impetus at the death.
I did not expect Pakistan to win the match because they were loosing wickets consistently after the 10th over and i never thought they will be able to chase the score, South Africa is also not fielding their best team but it is a good win for them.

CSK started very bad but Raina and the following batsmen recovered from the initial struggle and ended the match with a terrific total of 188 but DC started the match well from the beginning and took the match away from CSK. And also CSK player dropped lot of catches or else the match could be totally different.

At the moment DC needs 17 runs from 18 balls with 8 wickets in hand.
I did not watch the match, i thought CSK had a decent score on board but was disappointed when they were not able to defend that, if dropped catches were a main problem then there is nothing that can be done to help this old team.
2263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP is pumping now. on: April 10, 2021, 07:45:04 PM
Yes, now that the Ripple token price has exceeded $ 1 in the market, this means that Ripple has shown its job very well and has shown themselves in cryptocurrency, which Ripple is not a junk token in the crypto space.
A pump in valuation does not show that it is not a junk token, you can see in the entire cryptocurrency space that all the coins rallied in the past several months and do you think that all the coins that rallied are good. I can spot hundreds to trash projects and tokens that rallied in the past several days and now Ripple who is going through hard times started rallying and we will see how long these rally will last  Tongue.
2264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will governments ban Bitcoin like they did with Gold? on: April 09, 2021, 10:50:19 PM
What do you think? Will governments (especially the US government) ban Bitcoin like they did with Gold? Or is it too late to do something about it? Will Bitcoin survive if all governments unanimously agree to ban its usage worldwide?
We have seen governments coming together in the past and Liberty Reserve is a prime example but that was a private centralized digital currency even though they had servers in a few countries the government was able to come together and shut them for good but when it comes to BTCitcoin it is not that easy even though the government can shut a few mining farms but not the entire network.
2265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 09, 2021, 03:59:33 PM
Its a shame that cricket has all become about money, yes I understand that players need money to live like the rest of us but its seems that ever since the IPL started, its now more about the money then playing cricket which then makes it hard on the countries where money wasn't an issue but now is. I also think the board also have to come to the table and pay players more money but they need to find the balance.
It is surprising to see the ICC and the cricket boards giving permission to franchise cricket throughout the world and they are even giving priority to these leagues than playing for their respective boards, may be it is a change in the capitalist approach and they are giving the players the opportunity to earn money just like in Football.

Back in the 90's players were earning peanuts compared to now but back then they were playing because they loved to play cricket but now days money has taken over the game and its mainly due to the IPL. If this continues, then we'll see teams like SA and the WI die off from international cricket which we don't want to see.
Cricket is giving opportunity for everyone to make money and in the past they are not earning much money, i still remember players earning $600 to play the series in the late 80s and now the players are earning millions and with franchise cricket giving more opportunity to make a living with cricket.
2266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Ben Askren on April 17 on: April 08, 2021, 09:05:43 PM
I would not bet much on this fight either. I think it is really going to end like Tyson vs RJJ fight, when it was obvious that Tyson was winning, but due to exhibition fight, it ended with a draw. And "UFC president Dana White claimed he would bet 1 million USD" is just a clickbait imho.
Dana White actually said that in a podcast with Mike Tyson and with another person who knew Jake Paul and was claiming it is be an impossible task for Ben Askren to defeat him and to counter that Dana White said he would bet a million dollar that Ben Askren would win as he is a world class fighter and Jake Paul is nothing but a internet sensation. Dana White is not getting any money with the exhibition bout and he was simply standing up for Ben Askren even though they never had the best relation when Ben Askren was fighting.

2267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: USDT keeps getting better on: April 07, 2021, 11:06:58 PM
USDT is getting more expansion by going on polkadot chain and kusama combined, this means USDT isn't playing around, I know not everyone likes USDT but what could go wrong on here? It's still the best stable coin I've known till date,  Wink don't mind me if you are USDT hater
There are many things that could go wrong, a government or a collective effort could seize USDT and they are not known to display any form of transparency and if they are seized and if you are holding the coins you have zero value and do you think it is not possible, just search about Liberty Reserve and how that stable centralized currency was seized by the actions of multiple government agencies, you will get an idea that it is possible Tongue.

I'm sorry but when he puts his hands just in front of the eyes of his opponent I wouldn't call that a "clean" practice, he knows it's risky and even dangerous for his opponent but he takes profit from a silly rule of UFC that prohibits to catch and twist fingers  Undecided In a street fight he would get his fingers broken in few seconds.
Jon Jones has some godly attributes including his long reach and he has an advantage over any fighter even in the Heavy Weight division and once he started learning his striking he started using to gauge his range with the long reach he has and when you watch all his fights you will understand that his opponents will never blister against him because he neutralizes whenever his opponent thinks about that trigger and his oblique kick is another tool which he is using to great effect.

In a street fight if you are fighting Jon Jones he will kill you, if you think he is fighting dirty inside a rules fight you think he will give you anything in a no rules fight Cheesy.

Since you talked about fingers broken, have anyone saw how a fighter lost his fingers during a fight a few days back. It was horrible, Khetag Pliev is that unfortunate fighter and the referee noticed that his fingers were missing during the fight and stopped the fight and his fingers were found inside his opponents gloves.

Another tragedy was that Joel Cahuasqui a young fighter lost his life in a kickboxing bout when he was knocked out with a head kick despite wearing protective head gears.
2269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MMA Info and Predictions - Bellator, KSW, PFL, ONE... on: April 05, 2021, 11:57:07 PM
Ryan Bader is heavy favorite by bookmakers and I can't see Machida surprising him, especially coming from two loses and at his 42 years but last time in 2012 Machida was better and won.
Bader is younger and overall better fighter and I expect him to fight in semi-finals against Corey Anderson next who needs to defeat Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov on April 16th.
The game plan of Ryan Bader is simple, wrestling take down and ground and pound and i have not seen a Lyoto Machida fight in a really long time and even i am hoping Ryan Bader to win this easily unless he gets caught by some nasty front kicks when he level changes for a take down  Cheesy.

Current champion of division is Russian Vadim Nemkov who was better than Bader last time so we may see rematch in final if he wins Phil Davis and probably Yoel Romero next.
Surprisingly Bellator has a much better Light Heavy Weight division than the UFC as they have Phil Davis, Yoel Romero, Vadim Nemkov their champion and Ryan Bader and now Anthony Rumble Johnson

You did the right thing, stay safe. Fingers crossed for Mumbai.
Another news coming out from Mumbai is that eight ground staff members tested positive for covid and with the situation getting worse you never know what will happen with the entire tournament. The recently concluded legends series was a disaster as the players tested positive after the series which includes Sachin Tendulkar, Badrinath and the Pathan brothers and we know these because they announced these in twitter and they might be others as well. Just curious to see how things will work in a situation like this.

2271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH and BSC on: April 04, 2021, 08:17:13 PM
It will not happen because the BSC chain is not fully decentralized. The entire chain is under control of Binance and the nodes are run by 3rd parties which are controlled by Binance. A complete switch to the Binance Chain would mean for a project or company to be in the clutches of Binance which is an business risk.
Technically speaking what you are saying is true, Binance chain is centralized but do you think that the majority of the investors care about being decentralized, i really do not think so with the way how Ripple and other centralized projects became a success and those projects have a huge following as well and what i think is that the majority of the investors just think about the profit and not care about the rest.
2272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 04, 2021, 06:04:55 PM
To eaLiTy - isnt Jon Jones famous for his dirty fightings, and not tactics? His key against Ngannou is wrestling imho, as Ngannou is a pure striker and dont have wrestling backgroup.
I am following the UFC for a very long time and i do remember when Chuck Liddell was the champion in the Light Heavyweight division and he created an aura and Jon Jones was coming up as a young prospect during that time and what i am trying to tell is that i am watching his fights well before his UFC debut and he predominantly used wrestling in his early fight and when he developed his striking he started using his hands to find the range and started taking advantage of his reach we started seeing eye pokes but you cannot call him a dirty fighter as he is not doing that on purpose, just watch the sequence in the fights where eye pokes are involved and you will understand what i am talking about.

Holland seems hungry for a come back when he loses to Derek Brunson he would likely going to eat the canvas again if he belittles Marvin Vettori and rushing on to him without any given proper rest
He is burning himself out, fighting 5 times a year means he is spending his entire time in the gym preparing for the fights, hundreds and thousands of sparring rounds without any recovery is not going to help his body.
2273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 04, 2021, 05:18:56 PM
Fakhar Zaman fell one run short of Saeed Anwar's 194. It was an incredible fightback from Pakistan, but they still lost the game. When Faheem Ashraf was nabbed by Andile Phehlukwayo, they were at 205/7 (38th over). But they finished at 324/9, thanks to that exceptional innings from Fakhar.
I did not expect Pakistan to score over 300 runs when they lost their 7th wicket for 205 runs and Fakhar Zaman played an innings of his career but still ended up short. Phehlukwayo bowled an incredible 47th and 49th over and if not for his tight overs Fakhar Zaman could have taken Pakistan to victory. Now the series is leveled and with the performance Pakistan showcased i am expecting another interesting series.

I don't understand why BCCI is hell bent to host so many fixtures in the Mumbai? Hyderabad and Himachal seems pretty okay but no game for them, although Hyderabad did some drama over their revenue reporting which cost them hosting rights but in recent time they look better bet in comparison to Mumbai.
If they do not understand now the BCCI will understand soon that it is going to be an impossible to task right now to conduct matches in Mumbai, the entire Mumbai is shut after 8 PM and how they are going to conduct the day night match and there are reports that they might shut everything till they control the situation.

The moment i heard about another lock down i packed everything and flew to another state and now in quarantine for over a week and undergone a test and the results are negative but taking precaution as i am sitting in quarantine for a month.
2275  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian vs foreign companies on: April 03, 2021, 11:03:46 PM
I don't know whether this is good or bad for selling smartphones or software in Russia, This is the sales of smartphones in Russia according to statista....

what is certain, that smartphone provider must adjust to this rule.  do you think this is a good step to increase Russia's competitiveness against foreign countries that we know are the US?  or this is a bad move that will slow down Russia's competitiveness!
This is not a positive sign as we are aware that the smart phones are the worst when it comes to personal privacy and if a government wants to install preinstalled software and make them mandatory then one thing is certain that the government wants to monitor everything that is happening with you and they will be collecting all the data directly, earlier the government will have our data through private parties and that is how most countries function and it looks like Russia wants to collect them directly.
2276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 03, 2021, 08:55:36 PM
The advantage for Pakistan was that South Africa chokes even more in such situations. The South African bowlers took 4 quick wickets and that put Pakistan in trouble. But after that they surprisingly gave away the advantage. One more wicket at that point could have changed the outcome of the match.
South Africa has a reputation of chocking in tight situations but that was in high profile ICC tournaments and it started when they returned to International tournaments in 1992 World Cup and they did not choke that time but they were extremely unlucky because of a shady calculation for rain interruption during that tournament and that unlucky demon followed in the rest of the world cups and major tournaments as well.

Pakistan on the other hand has the reputation to win close matches in the past but the only issue is that they are not consistent in their performance, one day they play like champions the next day they play as if they do not belong in the tournament.
2277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A fake app in apple app store stole his life savings in bitcoin on: April 03, 2021, 08:28:23 PM
This is very unfortunate, with those amount I should be somewhat knowledgeable already by what kind of app/security measures should I use/apply to my device(s) especially if I'm storing those wealth in my phone or even on a computer or hardware wallet.
Even with all the precautions the world if we install a phishing software or an application we mess up everything and this is the sole reason using phone to store any of your valuables is the best option and i would advice anyone from doing these blunders. It is unfortunate that someone would loose everything just because they installed some application in the apple store and they need to take responsibility for including phishing applications in their store while they take actions against some applications immediately for minor infractions.

Bellator 255 is starting in one day and it is going to be interesting with main event Patricio Freire vs Emmanuel Sanchez.
We have two more Khabib cousins Usman Nurmagomedov fighting against Mike Hamel, Magomed Magomedov vs Cee Jay Hamilton, and it will be nice event to watch as UFC is taking a break this week.
I am a big fan of Patricio Freire and his fighting style and i do think that if he was in the UFC he would have been a much bigger super star and i will not bet against him and Usman Nurmagomedov is another talent the Khabib family is grooming.

Other big news from Bellator is that Fedor Emelianenko will fight next and Junior Dos Santos or Alistair Overeem are next on the list.
Fedor Emelianenko should have retired and never return, right now we are not even seeing the old legend who dominated everyone and age is a real factor and a match up against Junior Dos Santos will be awesome and i do think that JDS could knockout Fedor and retire him for good  Cheesy.

Other match ups i am looking forward this week is OneFC where the Muay Thai legend Rodtang Jitmuangnon will be fighting and i would like to see his ground game and Eddie Alvarez is fighting but not sure about his opponent and Demetrious Johnson defending his belt.
2279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: April 02, 2021, 09:37:23 PM
It appears Kevin Holland has become the official replacement. Does Marvin Vettori wrestle similar to Derek Brunson? I was with team Brunson, hwoever, Kevin Holland might win this fight if Vettori does not wrestle him hehe.
Marvin Vettori is a striker and we might not see much wrestling in this match but the problem is that i do not think it is a smart move by Kevin Holland to return this fast after a hard fought fight and Marvin Vettori is a pretty good striker who took on Israel Adesanya and gave his toughest fight in the division and i am expecting a brawl.

But Holland needs to back up his bullshit because without the wins he won't be an interesting asset for very long.
Kevin Holland should take a break, his body will not last longer if he keeps on fighting like this and will take a toll physically and mentally and it looks like he is creating his personality as a trash talking hungry fighter Grin.

So while most years it would probably work, there are some when it wouldn't, so it doesn't qualify as good general advice. Even given the short story of Bitcon's existence, you still need to take at least a 3-year span to make sure that it's historically accurate that it would have made a person's investment profitable.
This is a fact that majority in this thread ignore, they see the current market situation and then expect the market to rallying in the coming years as well and that is not the way the market performs, even the best experts who claims that they study the market does not have any clue when the market goes for a correction and if they say they predicted the exact time of the fall then it is a big fat lie  Cheesy.

Three years is a decent time to profit from the BTCitcoin market simply because we have a clear idea about the date of halving and that will boost the price and if you have that timeline then you can consider it as the safest investment.
