2281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum for ICO crowdsale. Why the change in choices? on: April 13, 2017, 10:02:21 AM
it is mainly because these ICO (aka new methods for scam) are somehow tied to ethereum platform so it is only logical to use ether tokens to buy them too.

and also when you really think about it, all these new and completely random projects which have ICOs are in fact creating some fake demand for ether which causes the price rises in ethere. so i can say it is like a master plan for pumping it. and it has been working well enough so far.
2282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Girl,Tokyo,72hrs--Bitcoin Survive Challenge on: April 13, 2017, 09:54:44 AM
this is a nice attempt and it was kind of fun to watch, but it mostly seems like someone who is trying way too hard to make both an informative, supportive kind of video and at the same time be a fun thing to watch. i say it wasn't that successful in any of these aspects!
2283  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info wallet problems on: April 13, 2017, 09:50:43 AM
I was using blockchain wallet for 2 years and everything was fine but 15 days ago they have some problems with there wallet.
I couldn`t login for 2 days after that they gave mi new address,
whenever you use one address the wallet automatically generates and saves a new private key and gives the public key to you in order to prevent address reuse.
but all the addresses and their keys are stored in your wallet.

Quote
i tried to import old address to use and they put it in watch only and now i can`t get my funds.
you should import your "private key" not "public key"
private key starts with 5 or L or K
public key starts with 1 or 3

Quote
I most say that my comp crashed and i lost my private key.
Their support would not even hear me, said they can not help me and that's it.
your computer crashing has nothing to do with blockchain.info they generate things in the browser and store it on their servers (encrypted) so even if you log in from another pc you still have the same wallet.
2284  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation Rule: buy when others are irrationally pessimistic or too cautious on: April 12, 2017, 09:30:24 AM
FYI, I took profits on this surge and wait to buy back again later, because I think actually attain activation is going to take at least 2 weeks and probably longer.
although i think SegWit news is more powerful than the activation itself but i am also a bit scared of getting in now after i took some profit out.

Quote
In the meantime, I have bought ETH. It is in a descending wedge pattern that is going to close within 24 hours. It looks like it has to break to the upside. Perhaps Ethereum will make some announcement on the Raiden (LN clone) upgrade coming. Looks like they will beat Litecoin to having a rudimentary beta of off chain scaling.

haha, to be honest i wouldn't be surprised if they announced it even premature.
Ethereum owners seem to be like showmen who have some tricks or jokes up their sleeves and are keeping it if they get stuck or start losing the audience Wink

let's watch and see what happens. price is currently at 0.0356BTC according to bittrex.
2285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some more good news about Litecoin. on: April 12, 2017, 09:23:01 AM
can anyone explain how does the activation percentage work for litecoin because i though i understood it but it is a bit weird!
the activation period consist of 8064 blocks and out of this 4404 or 66.31% is signalling SegWit.
but looking at most sites they are reporting their main percentage based on the last 576 blocks which is 73-74%

so why is that?
2286  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Need a quick feedback from Altcoin traders on: April 12, 2017, 09:12:04 AM
as someone who has checked all of these options (except Livecoin) i have to say Bittrex has the best charts.
poloniex and cryptopia charts does not even count as charts, they just show simplest way of representing an OHLC chart as possible with no dynamic change.
in Bittrex you can see the chart dynamically and even do a lot of analysis on it. it has lots of options.

but as far as API goes, poloniex is the only one that offers OHLC API calls. others don't have that option, sadly Sad
2287  Economy / Speculation / Re: for the first time ever, i'm hedging part of my long term position with altcoins on: April 12, 2017, 09:06:09 AM
ok now lets see how all your eggs have been doing so far:
start from 2017-03-29 (topic creation time) up to today 2017-4-12
Bitcoin $1023 ---> $1230 ---> +20%

Ether 0.059BTC --> 0.035BTC --> -40%
Dash 0.084BTC --> 0.049BTC --> -41%
Litecoin 0.004BTC --> 0.0077BTC --> +92% lol, should check back in a month since LTC pumped after all the others

thank you @Torque for this GIF Cheesy

If he invested big time on litecoin im sure he is enjoying his profits now and if he sold ether and dash when it was at high he might be happy with it but if not im sure he's not that sad because he still got profit on litecoin recovering his loss on the other two unless he invested bigger money on ether and dash. Its nice to see though that bitcoin is on the green right now I really do hope it won't dump soon.

right now litecoin has the hype for the SegWit going on for itself so it is an ongoing rise. and with the new pools starting to signal SegWit on litecoin it seems like we are closing in on the threshold of activation (only 1% more remaining last time i checked). and this alone will keep the price up and rising.

but in the long run it is still in a bubble and will come down. last time a nice rise happened, Chinese went crazy and dumped a massive load on the market that crashed the price down to previous levels in a couple of hours.
2288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin scaling: Looks like all roads lead to LTC on: April 12, 2017, 09:00:49 AM
ah the manipulation. it never gets old Smiley
all the bullshit on twitter by F2pool and their posts about SegWit and the dumps. it is funny how everytime the same things happens with a different subject and it keeps repeating itself.

but all the price speculations aside i am still hopeful for litecoin to activate SegWit so that we can finally see bitcoin's copy with SegWit in real action.
2289  Economy / Speculation / Re: what happened to the volatility in BTC in the last week on: April 11, 2017, 09:38:23 AM
nothing that we haven't seen before.

it started a while back when the FUD about split came and market makers dumped to create some panic and then when price bottomed out everyone started buying cheap coins from weak hands and that takes time but you can't keep the price down forever to buy cheap coins.

then price did a bounce back to upper $1000 and then a faster rise happened to above $1100 and then because of the existence of some level of uncertainly it took some time and breaking into some resistance over at $1200 price but the accumulation continues with high volumes and stable price.

soon there will be another phase of rising when the FOMO hits certain people in the face and they realize they made a huge mistake when they sold at $890-$950 range and now they feel like missing out and want to come back. and that is the time when we will start testing the $1300 resistance.
2290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good Altcoin for longterm investment on: April 11, 2017, 09:26:58 AM
open some charts, you can find them on all the exchanges, you can also find them on places such as coinmarketcap.com that list these altcoins all in one place and then look at some of their histories.

do you see the pump and dumps in short term and do you see the overall long term price dropping? i guess that should answer your question about not wanting to invest in any of these. specially those altcoins that have been rising in the past month and now are in a bubble.
2291  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin defeats the Chinese government on: April 11, 2017, 09:20:10 AM
I've never expected for the Chinese government to ever really be able to combat the "Bitcoin menace" as it would be, regardless of all the various things they try to implement to get their people from using it. There are simply too many people with too many different means of getting what they want, along with too big of a market to stop it at this point.

Bitcoin is no longer experiencing the same influence from China as it once did. There is still some influence China can exert, but it is much smaller than what it used to be.

Honestly, I never think that the Chinese government is suppressing Bitcoin or Bitcoin users and Bitcoin miners.  If they are, they should have release and order of closure of all the Bitcoin mining farm in their country.  But have we heard of that news?  No.  Simply because Chinese government just want to make things in order.  They need to protect their interest and preserve their law on AML and KYC.  The reason why they are only after the exchanges that transacts Bitcoin and  other currencies.

exactly this. i have been saying this for a long time.
every time there is some small news in China about regulations, all the news media make that simple news into something horrible and make it so that Chinese government seem like a dictatorship set out to kill anybody who even thinks about bitcoin Smiley
and when you think about these new or get them from proper Chinese resources you can clearly see that the concern has always been about illegal activities done with bitcoin and an attempt to prevent it and nothing more.

so i say whoever that is talking about China and how they want to kill bitcoin is either very misunderstood person or they want to do something illegal and this prevents them.
OK, but if you don't have a trustable Chinese resource, you can't decide if the news are legit or not... Moreover, China is a very strict country, so you can just belive the news if they're a bit horrible. Things are different in China, so who knows...
I'm wondering what will be next after the BU thing that comes from China, but I'm more curious about Japan, since there are great news from there in connection with the everyday use of bitcoin. Japan is a bit different country, so we'll see.

there is 8btc that gives more logical and level headed news.
but even without a news source you can use your head and your own logic. look around you and see what business is working without a license? that is right, NO business that is legal and works with fiat.
now imagine you hear a business with 20 million something dollar money flow on daily basis is working without a license or anything else.
that business is bitcoin exchanges in China.

and i don't get why you bring BU into this so i won't comment on that.
2292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin worth $500,000 dollars by 2030? Views and Comments on: April 11, 2017, 09:14:25 AM
we are on the rise and we have been for years. each year price starts low and goes up at least a 100+% and apart from 1 year only, the rest of them have been like this.

and we are still on the same path and bitcoin is still very limited. it is only 21 million for gods sake! some people seem to see the million and thing that is a lot but still that is a very small amount when you compare it with how many people are in the world and willing or will be willing to invest in bitcoin over time.
2293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China leading the way for a regulated bitcoin on: April 11, 2017, 09:08:49 AM
haha, again bitcoin price went up and some people missed the chance to buy cheap coins and news like this from China and the old drama of "China wants to control bitcoin" bullshit is starting.
this is old news dude, from day one when PBoC started investigating the Chinese exchanges everything has been clear and as Franky and others mentioned it is the fiat part of the business  that is being regulated.
2294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC round 2 begins? on: April 10, 2017, 11:51:19 AM
You do not have to be expecting too much LTC. The transaction volume is high because it is just an old coin.

old coins which still have a very high transaction volume show that they are still strong and around. a new coin having high transaction volume only shows a temporary hype.
but with LTC that shows some real usage for this coin.

you can check other old coins and many of them which disappeared even. it is very hard to stay around and stay useful in altcoin market which everything is being pump and dumped.

2296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to study an altcoin on: April 10, 2017, 11:19:37 AM
how to invest in new altcoin ?

in short: learn trading.

you won't need much else, you need to be able to study the charts and the market and also see the news and never have any high hopes for altcoins in long term. all of them will die sooner or later. there is only bitcoin that remains because it has some real usage.
all the rest are for trading and short term investment.
2297  Economy / Speculation / Re: Looks like we are going to test $1,300+ on: April 10, 2017, 11:10:26 AM
After so much drop in the price of bitcoins , it is steadily becoming stable and the price is 1100$ which is pretty good .it is advisable that the price of bitcoins would this time would be more than 1300$ and maybe touching 1500$ .you can see the same drop as u have seen before.

i think still very dificult bitcoin price incraese to 1500 dollar
if only 1300 dollar, i think can reach this month, and bitcoin price this now stable in 1200 dollar/bitcoin, not 1100 dollar

it is difficult because it is far away ($300 until $1500) and it takes time for a rise because it is no longer 2011.
other than that there is absolutely nothing that can stop bitcoin from rising. it is going to happen, try not to fall for the FUD campaign against bitcoin spread mostly by those against bitcoin and altcoin pumpers. that is all lie. if you don't accept it now, in a couple of months you will start regretting it.
2298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Possible To Use Only Bitcoin In Japan? on: April 10, 2017, 11:04:12 AM
i don't think people can live on bitcoin "only" today. maybe someday in the future when price is more stable though. because the price fluctuation may seem good to those who have invested in bitcoin and see it as such but when you want to use it as a currency, obviously you would like it more to have an stable price.

i should add that this is the first step towards that day though. and i am very excited about this news.
2299  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price. Whats your prediction? on: April 09, 2017, 11:28:15 AM
for this year, I think the price of bitcoin will touch the price of $ 1700, and it will happen at the end of 2017. Well, maybe my prediction was not too high, it is because I saw that the price of bitcoin is very difficult to survive when the price reaches a high price latest bitcoin.

according to the trend that has been going on for years, price has been rising big every year and that means by the end of the year it should be above $1700 of your prediction.
and even with a slowed down trend it can go as high when you look at the percentage of the rise.
2300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 08, 2017, 08:51:13 AM
It would cost them if some bigger whale came and ate their order whole, before taking the price considerably higher. But I suspect a lot of times these market makers have some sort of inside information from the exchanges wrt potential heavy buyers.

very interesting about the walls. i am no expert but i usually see these types of walls be placed deep (under other orders). so if this is true that these walls are placed as "a mental barrier" then that explains it, you can easily use a bot to watch the market and cancel the order and place it deeper if you see some movement.(?)
