Ooo I get to meet Slissy now, guy who actually has not just gambling knowledge and fame with Sportsbet, but also experience. GL my guy.

Toughest question for me was actually the bottom EPL table. I already have picks for those games, and some are "upsets" but it's easier to think about the likelihood of those as individual games. To then calculate the possible outcomes against the rest of those teams scrunched up down there? And DGW too.
2342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2022/2023 on: February 27, 2023, 10:57:38 PM
^ I feel like Leicester are playing better though, and they just seem to get a lift when Maddison plays -- or he's lifting them up, both are probably true haha. And yeah he's injured and seems to be never 100% after coming back briefly but he only needs to play and the Foxes will likely be just too strong for the Championship outfit.

I do agree with Fulham though. Leeds are no different from Bielsa's version at this stage of the season. Tired, desperate, out of ideas.
2343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: February 27, 2023, 09:05:11 PM
Some stranges games today, Barca and Sevilla making a mess.
How now can the team head into the Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid during the midweek with high spirit ? it's already bad enough that the team is plagued with one injury or the other, playing with a low morale or depleted team spirit is the last thing Barcelona can afford right now, or they could go as far as even losing this the league despite being in a commanding position.

Whoa, I totally missed that result! Hope the odds weren't too crazy for Almeria, or I'd be in regret mode now. Seems like United didn't just beat the stuffing out of them, but the spirit. Atletico already did a huge favour and this is how they repay them.

Absolutely right now that the momentum's turned in the next El Clasico... Real's Whatsapp group apparently got new life after the result (Daily Mail, don't ask me why I read that!).

2344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: February 27, 2023, 07:57:31 PM
My last serious bet was City double chance against Leipzig  Smiley All the time I look at the line in search of "reliable" games but I do not see anything really interesting. And it's not just Serie A.
So far, I have decided for myself that if Milan loses points today, then tomorrow the bet on Roma (1.74) against Cremonese will look profitable.

I have this dumb system of "martingale" on English second-tier football where the teams there are almost always on 2/1 ++ odds and they have a terrible consistency in results. It's a fast way to lose money, but obviously you don't just double down all the time.

That seems to me the "wisdom" to use with these Milan teams, only problem is they're still given low value odds (below 2/1) considering their form.

No Lazio for you today then huh?

Annoying start of the BDGW, with some key players not starting, others blanking...etc. I was kinda forced to use my FH chip this week, likely to end on a small green or grey arrow, still my FH team is projected to outscore my otherwise -8 team by 25 to 35pts, plus i don't have to keep triple Liverpool going forward....Lol

Saw your comment late but yes, our own players cost us. I used the FH chip too, the biggest pain was actually slotting in Nunez to DGW opportunity so that was a blank up front.

Alcaraz and Watkins luckily gave a trickle of points but it feels like a poor week using FH and only getting 50 points.

Probably stupid of me also that Harrison was in my bench and got 6 points, while those actually on the team didn't match him.

Lol good I didn't bet much on Alcaraz, 2nd set leading 3-0 and 40-0 I thought nothing can go wrong from there  Grin Also needing him to win to get 3 points in my match up. Definitely interesting week I was 2 down then managed to go 1 up and ended  in a draw.

Yeah that can't have been too good for his confidence, they say in football, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory ha... 10/1 Norrie after going down a set was a bit of a lousy offering though, I might have taken it had I been watching.

Since Trofo said that discussion is encouraged, how do I even approach the DOTA question? I mean, it's 50-50 so I think I'll just wing it.

BTW - that crap is his, don't blame me for that one Grin

I saw it & though, damn how am I supposed to know this. I took a guess at Yes!
Sometimes having zero knowledge on something is fine, let’s be honest, I have lost more than enough bets thinking I am an expert Cheesy

My round 3 predictions are in, LFG!
Going to dig into the questions early tomorrow morning, hope most of it doesn't require me to wake up too much, that DOTA thing sounds like it could be a tricky question...

No is somehow my favoured approach when I don't know anything (like Round 2 Rugby haha).
2347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Leverage Liquidity Map: Shorts dominating leverage trading on: February 27, 2023, 04:01:08 PM
When we hit $20k in 2021, did it act as resistance? No not at all. Basically was a bear trap. And later in late 2022 when we hit $20K was it support? Not really. We went further into $18K or so. So even if it touches $20K in the next few weeks, I don't think it will be a good indicator.

Yeah, I always saw $10k as the only time psychological resistance really meant anything. $20k only because it was the ATH, and then once that was passed, it hardly mattered as support (and as you say, after that, as resistance).

Don't think there are any more psychological points other than $10k (and ATH).

I know it probably has been examined too many times but I have always felt this fee system takes care of itself. I know even from my own use, dollar value of the fees I pay seem to be on an increasing trend (whilst keeping satoshi value rather constant if not even reducing thanks to improvements like segwit).

Too lazy to check if indeed the case. Too confident it will continue to be the case.

I think if I count the greens correct, I've already won this tie without waiting for Alcaraz (would be 4-3 if Slam gets it right and I don't), can't really see on my screen properly until I get to laptop but phew, because I got saved not by football but by rugby, which of course, was a fling in the dark.

I see the heaviest defeats over in Div2 and 3, also Trofo and cryptofrka en route to smashing the league!
2350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2022/2023 on: February 26, 2023, 08:41:40 PM
^ No need to be sorry, yeah, it would have failed anyway (but I would have had my money back from insurance).

I actually watched Liverpool second half and gave up on the bet long before the final whistle.

Sort of a shame about the other Championship picks... on their own the three were 10/1...
2351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 26, 2023, 07:03:14 PM
If BVB weren't worried before, they should be by now. Bayern seems to have shaken off their malaise. I'm never going to be convinced about EMC but he's been doing his share along with others. Think now if they navigate past Mbappe, they'll be welcoming Mane back to the fold.

Not even really supporting Bayern but of course nice to see an old Red back on the bench after three bleeding months!
2352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 26, 2023, 06:30:11 PM
Ah Monaco. 'Twas such a major win in Europa, and then you got dumped out by the same scoreline, then you lie down and Nice to trample all over you.

Again, nothing that I wasn't expecting, but I was really hoping to be surprised and see this league take on a few more games before we inscribe a name on the trophy.

Over, to you, Tudor.
2353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: February 26, 2023, 05:19:24 PM
Atletico its totally cursed against Real.

And it was most typical Madrid derby. Not most beautiful game. Many yellow cards, already in 1st half, sent off. This time Simeone's strategy worked. Now it's time for Barca to make +10

Yeah, Xavi better send him some good wine regardless. Wonder if it's also Simeone's last derby. Feels weird to say but the club almost feel like they're ready to let him go. I'm not a fan of his and his football is just awful but I can't deny he made the club in his image and they have titles and trophies to show for it.

Who wants to play beautiful football and win nothing right?
2354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: February 26, 2023, 04:38:55 PM
No brainer, haha, I missed it.

Meanwhile, however, there's a strange Super Boost active for the next City game hosting Newcastle United. 7.33 odds with that nice price boost, so I am planning on using it of course and plopping down my insurance freebet from 9 days ago (which would have hit if Liverpool weren't Liverpool, but that's the old hat story I hate to tell). Sportsbook been acting up all afternoon though.
2355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first pizza purchase using Bitcoin in lightning network on: February 26, 2023, 02:42:32 PM
I think in 30 years you will regret it.

Then you have completely lost the plot with what Bitcoin is supposed to be used for. Original Pizza man has never regretted it. And we shouldn't too on anyone's behalf.

Try holding coins forever. Oh wait, that's what 99% of alts do.

And see where that leads.
2356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: February 26, 2023, 02:11:19 PM
Apologies if anyone took my advice on spamming Inter/Milan draws. Change that tip to spamming handicaps.

Further proof all the big names are now a mess of form, impossible to bet on except to get those tasty upset odds... except those odds aren't any longer as tasty as you'd normally expect.

Bologna was not even 5/1, can you believe? Only reason I didn't take the bet.
2357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IMF reject BTC adoption on: February 26, 2023, 01:39:30 PM
Already pointed out by the first response that it isn't BTC adoption, but the use of it as legal tender.

Also spoiler, this isn't a new stance. I believe it was as early as 2018 when Marshall Islands first wanted to do that (the trigger here I believe was that they wanted to abandon their existing currencies a la El Salvador in favour of Bitcoin).

So, no (new) news really.

Thank you Steve and Sportsbet, and CLS63 for organising.

I kind of wish I had known this earlier, I am right now travelling so it's very hard to do things proper and I know if I don't do them now, I'll forget. Nvtl I made my payment (how nice Sportsbet balance is so easy to w/d!) so let's get this going!

Good luck to all, I know I'm probably donating money but beware of the luck of the random!
2359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Group Stages on: February 25, 2023, 05:46:41 PM

@cygan: Hammers must feel they can go far!
of course, i could trust them. the cyprian club larnaca should also not be a problem for the pl club. but if the opponent is underestimated, then of course anything is possible...

That's the only danger at this level of the competition, really, to underestimate opponents.

And to not be prepared for teams that know they will likely lose so will either play to their maximum effort or sit back and frustrate their more illustrious opponents.

I still never get why big teams act surprised when that happens haha.

Does anyone know where Conference League outrights are offered? I'd go one of the Turks if odds are pretty!
2360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: February 25, 2023, 02:24:52 PM
@Harko @Ige

I totally get the value of paying attention to price/budget system, as pointed out above, $110m is 10.2M more than my squad value, and that's an entire 2 or 3 players upgrade. I actually think FPL should pay more attention to this aspect. Value increasing/decreasing more.

But anyway, I'm like Ige, I don't care and it doesn't have a single iota of impact on my decision... for now. Then again, penalties don't even change my mind either =)

@harko: Nunez? I can't say for Fantasy, but he'll be worth it (and according to stats on and off the ball, minus actual goals, he is still the value we paid for, haha)
