Got online way too late to put Armenia into my multi so I instead had to go live for Kazakhstan to beat N Ireland. I'm not sure what the prematch odds were but I got it over 8/1. Probably should have waited a bit more as it's now over 9/1 (but then again that's run of play).

Also have Georgia to beat Scotland all on its own, did I mention here I'm going to squeeze out value from Central Asia and Caucascus for as long as I can?

Ok I didn't do too badly on hindsight, though have to say in this pool finishing two points off the pack leaders is quite a distance... Seem to be either dropping off a position or keeping steady every race but just have to keep hoping one of you bastards slip up.

Nice win rdbase!

Slaman well done! First win is always the best. Just don't be Cremonese haha.

Man, 3B is scary good, if I thought 6 was tough, almost half the division come along and show how "average" it is. Hakan's performance by the way, is a long green streak I don't remember seeing before. Well done! Only 2 rounds and just a handful of players going for a perfect score. Tough league!

i felt i had a good round but unfortunately my opponent buwaytress also had a good round  6-6 ! so i think a draw was fair

but I'm not happy with 1 point in 2 rounds, so I have to sharpen up a bit more Haha

Shouldn't we have had an extra option on question 9? What if Alcaraz loses in the first or second round? Then the question becomes void?  although I don't think he'll lose, but it's still possible I think we would all prefer to avoid the question becoming void

Everything rested on that penalty shootout in the end, didn't it? I needed Spain to lose, but on the basis of everything overall, I have to agree, the draw is all that we deserved. So we both walk away with a point, 6-6 is absolutely a good outcome, see you in ClubTalk where we can both say neither is better (or worse) than the other Wink

Was not even online yesterday to look at specials, so not sure if I missed any good ones, but pretty cool that I missed out anyway because I'd have hunted for Croatia win combos. As it stood, the only bet I placed was the best one to take!

Also managed to sneak in a small win on the Total Goals prediction contest, so that was cool!

P.S. Outright markets emerging for EURO. Germany and France are joint favs, England close behind... what?
Germany are favorites, it's a big surprise to me.
After getting a lucky 3-3 draw against Ukraine a few days ago and losing against Poland few days later 0-1 as well, it's hard to believe such odds.  Cheesy

Our team is in a very bad condition, so many defensive mistakes and sometimes very disappointing in the offense. No way, Germany is close to France or England.
Of course, it's still time but as it is right now, I won't bet any buck on them if they keep playing so weak against less competitive teams like Poland or Ukraine...

Yeah, terrible value. I got lucky in WC snagging good odds on Argentina early with price boost so I will be looking at similar outliers. I do think your team is good but it is far, far away from the version of at least two Euros ago.

France probably gets far but I don't like the odds. England as usual has lowest value as joint 6/1 favs with Germany.

Croatia always worth a top3 finish if a market for that comes up. Netherlands... 16/1 look tempting. They had a crap NL outing but no one took that too seriously.
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: June 18, 2023, 06:20:01 PM
Just when I thought that finally a night without surprises as I was watching Norway leading up to the 85th minute and I thought that it was going to be a sure win but Scotland turned immediately things around in just two minutes with two goals in 87th and 89th minute which was the first surprise of the night.

The second one was Belgium not being able to win at home against Austria,I think Belgium was also the biggest surprise of tonight games from the Euro qualifiers as honestly for me Belgium is in a much better shape than Austria and even Austria goal was a Belgium own goal unfortunately which cost them the three points tonight. All other games come as predicted.

Agree on Belgium -- I know Austria's not a terrible team but this should have been a straightforward win for a team high up the FIFA rankings. Have to say Scotland wasn't that much of a surprise for me, even Haaland getting his penalty was a bit of a fortunate thing (in my view). I see these two teams as evenly matched, my money would have gone on Scots any day with the value odds (though in the end the win was also lucky).

Scotland still my hopeful team to qualify from this group -- but Georgia might fancy themselves as a huge outsider (they probably need to nick points off Scotland the way they did Norway first though).

So far so good on the Round 2 scores. Am aware 8/10 of the questions are draws with Slissy so it didn't really matter, however, me trying to score fewer crazy underdogs has worked out so far (though NOT going with Kielce was proof the underdog wasn't a great pick, and if I'd picked Croatia as my normal instinct asked to, I'd be a point ahead there, so in the end, all is even).

Agree that double chance on Croatia and Canada would be my pick, and not just because of odds but likelihood -- but I'm still waiting for SB to pull a promo trigger before adding more money on the line (I personally think 6/1 for the NL final to go to pens is great value).

I'm 6/6 correct answers in 'normal' questions (not H2H questions I mean, and Yes I picked Austuria not to loose +under). Still I lost %80 of my betting balance this week, how is this possible. This is so sad and crazy being so accurate about predictions and still loosing...  Undecided

Be prepared for more craziness in BSFL and in pools. I tend to "hedge" my bets in pools and BSFL to at least get something somewhere and not lose across all 3, but in the end, even the best laid strats can lead to you losing everywhere!

An idea I just got for next Round 3: put a multibet using BSFL picks. I'll try and remember to do that!

No need for me to add to what people already recommend but why not try something virtual first to get a real sense of what goes on, and whether these sessions are useful for you (or if you're even relevant to them?). Plenty of free conferences to attend, and if you sign up to CoinDesk or similar subscriptions, they like throwing around free tickets.

Personally, meetups and seminars are more targeted (if you don't want to wade through networking). Try this one for free in September, pretty "big": https://blockchain-expo.com/europe/

Ocon's podium in Monaco is still very special but also very different from a Bottas podium in Canada.
Ocon is driving in an Alpine car, it's a midfield car and much better compared to Alfa Romeo. That way and having a bit of luck, Ocon was able to get a good qualifying position for the race.

Yeah and now Bottas sitting way out down on the starting grid, it's going to need several minor miracles for a podium finish (hence the downgrading of bookie odds again). Superbru predictions are what matter this season, of course, so I'll still be keeping an eye tonight if I'm not overcome by old-age sleepiness.

Happy Father's Day to all who have kids sucking the life energy out of you Wink

Another one of your famous lottery bets?  Good luck with this one Grin

Thanks! I haven't had a 40/1 or more win this entire season, which is something of a personal record NOT to get, let's see if I get something juicy in the off-season.

I know people aren't fans of mBTC
Is that an American thing? Tongue Here, SI-units are pretty much standard for anything (mg, ml, mm, mmol, mBTC).

I never thought of it that way, but that could be it now that you mention it! I'm almost 100% SI-arranged. cm, mm, m, km. Back "home" we have completely different units (which is slowly phasing out anyway) which I had to get used to but never made sense even as a child. grams and metres for me, so maybe that's why mBTCs always made sense in my head Wink

I always have prntscrn ready when I play slots though, imagining myself winning the jackpot some day ha Wink

You’ve got to be in it to win it, bro.

Also don’t forget who your long time friends are in that scenario Wink Grin Cheesy

Have a great weekend guys!

Agreed. Threw in some mbtcs recently on slots but I quickly realised it's probably best to prepare a much bigger bankroll and be prepared to stick some elbow in (figuratively). Believe me, if I win some mega jackpot and I don't remember my friends, I should be struck down =p Much better to be "famous" for my screenshot and to share some of that joy, then retire in bliss.

Enjoy the weekend, punters!

Bottas is a decent driver but it's only possible to achieve a podium in an Alfa Romeo / Haas / Alpha Tauri / Williams currently, where there's massive chaos in a race like a big crash, where half of the grid is involved in or suddenly heavy rain for example.

I don't know why but I feel like that's so wrong. I suppose that's how Ocon got his podium a few races ago (can't remember how or why). Let's see what the slip brings if it comes tomorrow then!

Bottas with a car like Alfa Romeo has exactly 0 chances to get to the podium in a normal race but since we would be having rain during this weekend,it is worth trying even 1000/1 odds as who knows what the rain brings, cars going out of track, crashes and a lot of other unpredictable things that can happen because of it.On normal conditions though Bottas is getting old but this is no good reason to rate him at that odd for the podium while driving an Alfa Romeo is a big reason why it is exactly correct to rate him at that odd for the podium, the Alfa Romeo seems in the same level or just a bit better than Williams.

You agree, then, yeah? It's worth a punt on someone, especially if it rains? I'm still looking for a valid reason why Bottas (a name that's familiar enough to me as an F1 non-follower) should be seen as only able to finish on the podium once in 250 races haha.

Unfortunately, the bookies must have heard me as today the odds have gone down significantly to 91/1.

I still threw some money on it ha ha.

I guess the option I always go for is using "mBTC". I used to think it wouldn't make sense but apparently sites are good enough (or Google) to easily translate for people what mBTC means. Bitcoin's been at a nice enough value for the past 4/5 years that 1 mbtc plus some decimals seem to be adequate.

I know people aren't fans of mBTC (and I wasn't initially)...
1513  Economy / Speculation / Re: You wanted decoupling, you got it. on: June 16, 2023, 06:37:47 PM
I didn't want decoupling, not yet anyway. Still waiting for the super crash of everything to happen -- you know, global recession, the new era of troubles, and all that.

It's not that I wish the world to collapse, the system of finance and banking and debt already are in all honesty, I was waiting for the banks and governments to break (to inevitably get on the path of recovery). Because it's really hard on regular people all over the world already. A reset I thought was pending, and Bitcoin would surely have followed in their wake, only if temporarily.

That would have provided one hell of a buying opportunity...

Looks like I'm not so special to see value in Croatia, waiting for the "to qualify" line at Sportsbet to come up (I also, like cryptofrka, believe they will take it to ET). Only bet so far I've taken is on that game to go to Penalties, which is above 6/1. Maybe a special comes out anyway and we get even better value, eh?

P.S. Outright markets emerging for EURO. Germany and France are joint favs, England close behind... what?

Thought this might be the time I actually watch a race, and then Euro qualifiers come around so I know where my priorities will continue to lie this weekend Wink

Giving up looking for good odds for a podium finish for an outsider. Someone give me a quick rundown on why Bottas is no longer considered a contender -- 250/1 for a podium place. I know he's switched down to an inferior car but are the differences in machines really so huge that good drivers stand no chance? Or is it a combination of Bottas also deteriorating?
1516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 16, 2023, 11:22:28 AM
WTF??? This is some new rule or something? Is it just in CONCACAF or in all football? Because there are many anti-something chants in Europe and I have never seen a football game cancelled because of that. The only penalty for that is opening a disciplinary procedure for the nation/club whose fans were involved.

I wasn't aware of these new rules either BUT I do know that something similar happened from this season in Eredivise on crowd disturbances -- in Dutch football's case, hooliganism is the problem creeping back up so they decided to do something about it. One game pause to allow the club/stadium to try and keep things under control. But after restart, if a second incident happens, then the game is called off. I don't know the exact details but I believe one match was called off already for those circumstances.

I think US also has some kind of rule for halting/forfeiting matches if crowd ignores ref warnings, but that shouldn't apply to internationals. Don't know enough about Concacaf to be honest but I suspect Mexico is a repeat offender with this abusive chanting, and they take it to some extremes, so they probably tried to crack down on it.

Slissy has Spain as the champions... it's one of only two answers we have different, so I'm going to be rooting (and probably betting, due to value odds) for Croatia.

Re all favs winning: I went for yes, which is quite unlike me as I always insist among the favourites on match day, one has to not win. Fortunately for me, Slissy also chose yes.

Try to see you guys on ClubTalk later!

Nice win @serjent05! Just came in here myself after playing a very, very rare session of slots. Actually did slightly better with freespins than I did with real spins (or bonus spins paid for) but I know slots are generally about long sessions of perhaps hundreds of spins to see any real return with bonus rounds. But 30 times return on a free bet is what I call a good day!

I always have prntscrn ready when I play slots though, imagining myself winning the jackpot some day ha Wink

Did a round of freespins today, not a bad haul, on its own, then decided, well, what the hell, if I am going to be playing these slots games every now and then, why not see what some paid hands look like right? So 4 mbtc plopped down on the Bonus Buyin. And sure, bonus wins, up to a grand total of 0.826 mbtc haha. All that excitement in less than 60 seconds. Don't think I'll be trying that again anytime soon, but I can definitely see why people play slots all day long =D
1519  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - how low will we go in 2023? on: June 15, 2023, 01:06:41 PM
"at the moment"? Where've you been the last 12 months or so? Ha, it's been FUD for at least a year now and on a downhill slide since SBF's fall.

Still, I like how the FTX drama feels very recent, and that halving feels not too far away -- meaning we won't have much time to enjoy this DCA period before the FUD dries up and then the fomo lays it on thick.

In 2023, what I find hard to believe is people are still worried at $25k BTC, and waiting for a "10% dip".

Nice BTTS Trofo, that's how you do it!

NL not qualifying burned me on a couple of bets, but am not particularly surprised anyway. Spain game no longer has any impact as I'm not doubling down on them, instead, going to look to Afcon qualifiers sprinkling in the weekend Euro qualifiers to see if I can't claw back some wins.

Also, just realised today that Slissy and I only have differing responses on two questions. Great minds thinking alike, or both bumbling idiots, eh Slissy man? In fact, if Spain lose today, then we're both drawing on the final question, leaving the Canadian GP as the event to separate us.

P.S.: Thought might see MMA this month, not sure how big the fights are but there certainly are a couple in June I think looking at calendar, but can't tell if they're as big as they seem to be.
