2461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good coins I am missing out on: May 03, 2017, 02:03:34 AM
btc
ETH
LTC
STRAT
ETC
XRP
NLG
SJCX
Burst
steem
DGB
SaaT
ARK
RLC

My holdings. I moved 50% off my btc into alt coins just before the big volume pump. Best decision ever I could say. All the coins are pretty much going up. Only NLG, DGB have not gone up that much.

Oktober 2016 I bought stratis and XRP. Bought made nice profits.

Still I strongly suggest to watch out. Now everything goes up but will it still by in a month or 2? Its going crazy atm.
yeah right those coins are moving up and almost everything is green, its really a big profits if you able to buy those coins when price
drop down, i also wanted to add xem and sc they also have good potentials for sure its also a coin to watch out.
At the moment almost all the altcoins are moving up as well but I don’t think that is a tendency that is going to last much longer so we must be prepared to move out of our position on altcoins at any moment notice.
2462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was the value of 1 Bitcoin when you first mined/purchased? on: May 03, 2017, 02:01:38 AM
when bitcoin is $10,000 in 4 years, everyone will be wishing they bought more at 1300
Hindsight is always 20/20 I wish I bought more when bitcoin was only 200 dollars and maybe in a few years I wish I did the same today but at the same time I least I have some bitcoin unlike most people in the world so I’m still making good earnings thanks to it.
2463  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will reach $1500? on: May 02, 2017, 01:55:47 AM
Bitcoin price is heading towards another ATH but market confidence is not following the price. On the contrary there is no confidence at all.
Banks hate bitcoin and don't want to accept the alleged risks, they claim that the risk of potential laundering is to great.
What will exchanges do when there will be bank left to take care of fiat money transfers?

People are getting fed up with the banks. Banks are powerless by themselves, they get their power from their customers. As more people embrace bitcoin, the banks will lose power. Banks are empty without us, just as bitcoin has no power by itself. We give our souls to the people and things that we want and love. Why would you trust some shady banker to manage your soul?
The day banks are powerless is very far away if it ever comes, they are powerful and they make the rules is that simple, I think if exchanges cannot have access to the banks then exchanges as we know it will disappears but someone will have a new idea and create a new model for exchanges to work.
2464  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: May 02, 2017, 01:51:09 AM
Couple of ways will help you get stead income.

You can be part of Signature Campaign on this forum
You can do freelancing work and get the project according to your knowledge.
You can be an escrow service provider and get some fees in return.

I think joining a signature campaign does not help you get a steady income because the signature campaign only works for a short period of time and campaigns require participants to have certain writing skills, not everyone can participate. Freelance work is similar to the signature campaign, it does not work for a long time and also require you to have certain knowledge. Want to have a steady income you should work in real life, steady income on the internet is not possible
I don’t think we can compare signature campaigns to freelancing, freelancing is a job that you do and you are hired by event while a signature campaign at best is just a way to make some extra money, while there are many freelancers that earn their living that way and that is not possible with signature campaign.
2465  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Prediction 2017 on: May 02, 2017, 01:48:01 AM
My prediction is somewhere between $1500-$2000 by the end of this year. The price is steadily trending upward. It all depends on what happens with the segwit and other factors. The recent Japan thing will help in the long run i'm almost certain. It's already climbed over $150 from that announcement alone
We should not expect a lot from the segwit front except more of the same, we will probably get more FUD and I don’t expect the percentage of miners signaling segwit activation to grow that much either, but an increase in adoption in Japan will help the price.
Segwit is the right solution for bitcoin scalability, it just like a time bomb. In this time the scalability problem of bitcoin has taken a lot of attention from a lot of the parties.
The tension of the scalability debate is really high right now. But if the scalability can be resolved and it will give a lot of impact for the price of bitcoin.

That means the blockchain can collect more transaction and deliver it in a short time, that means more adoption will come to bitcoin.

The japan news is a side support.
I'm not saying segwit is a bad solution what I’m saying is that I don’t think we are going to see segwit activation for a long time so I don’t think we should make any inclusion on it on our calculation about the price except in the negative form since I’m sure that more FUD is coming our way.
2466  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex make me LIQUIDATION on my account on: May 02, 2017, 01:42:47 AM
I would like share to you about my story on Bitfinex trading. How I loss my money on Bitfinex just because their technical issue, which caused my LIQUIDATION
- From Mar 2017, I trade Dash with short position and realize about Bitfinex Summary table calculation where total Gross, total positions, total Orders were calculated. These number is totally wrong with my current position. This issue come to very critical with me, because I can not place any Margin Buy/Sell order to close my position and end my loss. I raised this issue as a helpdesk ticket on 31 Mar 2017. Below is my message to bitfinex

- On 01 Apr 2017, I got their reply to request screen shoot for Bitfinex helpdesk confirmation

- Immediately, I replied Bitfinex with my screenshoot to hope this technical issue will be helped. But from that moment, there are no more reply on my mail thread. Below is my screenshoot.

- On 03-Apr-2017, I lost almost my money with a LIQUIDATION on DASH position. And still now I have no any reply from Bitfinex
Any body have same experiences with this issue?
This may be an isolated case but knowing the state of things in Bitfinex I doubt that, I think this will be the first of a wave of complains about the service and the inevitable bankruptcy of the exchange that will bring as a result a big crash in the price of bitcoin.

2468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was the value of 1 Bitcoin when you first mined/purchased? on: April 28, 2017, 01:57:28 AM
I had 500 bitcoin around $1 each. I bought a couple vials of steroids with it all Sad

And do you still have the muscles to show for it?
Lol, if it was me no amount of chemical substances will make me grow any kind of muscles, I will be skinny forever. On topic I bought when bitcoin was in the 180-210 dollars and I bought 3 bitcoins back in the day.
2469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good coins I am missing out on: April 28, 2017, 01:54:57 AM
Quote
you should never hold altcoins for long term if you like your money.

Then what do you do in this thread?

Hold for a limited amount of time, bitcoin is the only coin worth holding long term all the other coins should only be hold long enough to get your profits and then you need to get out of them and into other coins, simple as that.
2470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Spotify aquires blockchain startup on: April 28, 2017, 01:52:02 AM
What I am afraid of is that major companies or rich people start buying start-ups while they do not even know what it is and how it could be beneficial to them, to be fashioned, and that it leads to a bubble like the dotcom bubble...
Bubbles are not always bad, the dot com bubble  accelerated the speed of the internet and it improved the service offered on it and some giants like Google and amazon emerged, so bubbles are nothing but an excess of cash on an industry nothing more.
2471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Reason Bitcoin will always be #1 on: April 28, 2017, 01:47:26 AM
I think altcoin is a factor, the presence of altcoin create a bitcoin be # 1, they will be the promotion of coins to new users and pay with bitcoin thus helping bitcoin popular.

I do agree that it is one factor.

Altcoins are making bitcoin to look more valuable. If one new investor is on its way to invest in an altcoin then sees the future of bitcoin also then there will be a chance that he will turn into a bitcoin investor also.

There is nothing more better in making bitcoin number 1 than addinh more users into it. Adding more demands in the process.
Altcoins help bitcoin, but bitcoin helps altcoins too, bitcoin has proved that the concept of a crypto currency is possible and now the rest of the coins are cashing on this knowledge by getting way more investors they could have gotten since bitcoin keeps going to strong after almost 10 years.

This is right. It is a symbiotic relationship for Bitcoin and Altcoin. They benefit from each other. But sad to say, there are cammers that rides in the popularity of Bitcoin and Altcoins. They used the opportunity to con people by creating new coins and then when lots of people invested, they will leave the development of the coins.
It is sad but you are correct, scammers have taken the opportunity offered by crypto currencies and decided to create their own projects that are nothing but hot air and have no future or development and the investors lose money at the end.
2472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins price can be manipulate? on: April 28, 2017, 01:45:44 AM
You don't need a bank's money for make a fake pump in the world of altcoins, especially altcoins with a low market cap this is the difference with Forex where institutional traders are the only ones who do this kind of movements.
You are correct, but someone trying to pull such a move must be careful of not trapping himself in the maneuver, if you buy a lot of an altcoin to make the price grow but everyone wants to get out you are going to be the one that holds the bag at the end.

2475  Economy / Speculation / Re: When do you think Bitcoin will reach $1500? on: April 27, 2017, 01:08:48 AM
I say by the end of December for sure, but feeling the summer is a possibility as well.  Your thoughts ?
I thought that we will need to get to December to get to that price but with the price as highs as it is right now I will not be surprised if we reached that price in July or August but that is if we don’t get another massive FUD like the one we received a few weeks ago.
2476  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: April 27, 2017, 01:06:25 AM
Hello All,

What you think is the best investment to gain steady income in btc without actively doing anything?
So no trading/gambling/loaning etc.

Steady income more likely to be 'small & secure' than 'big & risky'.

Thanks,
BR Oinas
I don’ think you are going to be able to find anything close to what you are looking if you want a  steady income you need to be prepared to work hard for it, trading can give good profits but it is not a source of steady income your best bet will be to find a job that pays in bitcoin.

If he gets a job that pays him his salary in bitcoins then also he cannot get a steady income from it as his monthly income will depend on the price of bitcoins if price goes higher he will get higher and same if it goes lower.
You got me, Lol, but you are right someone accepting pay in bitcoins is now subject to the same price fluctuations that we see every day, so I suppose the best idea is to simply get a good job that pays in fiat and use whatever amount you can spare to buy bitcoin.

2478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: April 27, 2017, 12:58:36 AM
Banks are not going anywhere even if bitcoin gets on the mainstream there will be many people who will prefer to use banks and save their money in it as they feel that banks are the most safest place to save their money which is actually true.
Well, it will not change even in the future. Banks are trusted by the people and it gives insurance to your money so people
are not worried anymore. However, it does not give you a good interest than holding bitcoins alone, but it's a person's choice on what make him comfortable.
Banks are not a way to completely protect your money when there is an economic crisis the first things that happens is that governments steal the money in your bank accounts, bitcoin protect us from that since there is no way to take our money away from us.
2479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit Confirms On Litecoin In 2 Weeks, LTC Could Hit $25 on: April 26, 2017, 01:18:10 AM
Why do you think adopting segwit = to the moon?
Mainly for the hype surrounding it I would imagine will increase the price as it usually always does in Crypto land, then after the hype if it does actually benefit litecoin then perhaps the price will increase.

I wouldn't say the moon though, not anytime soon perhaps up towards it's ATH but who knows.

I share this opinion, hype is the fuel of the rise. But it also sounds so evident that it will then drop. An unstainable rise in some way.
It is unsustainable but it does not matter take the opportunity and make some easy money when investing in LTC, invest your BTC and exchange it for LTC wait for the bubble, Get bitcoin again and enjoy your profits, it does not get any easier than that.
2480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do YOU support Litecoin? Why is it so popular? on: April 26, 2017, 01:15:05 AM
Nothing against litecoin myself, just was very surprised to see such a significant increase on its price recently.
What features does it have which make it worth buying? As far as I know, all it has is Segwit, which is something that changes some sort of file size in the blockchain?

My point is, since it is a technical clone of Bitcoin, what are your reasons for supporting it?
Segwit activation is huge, it will give us the chance to see how well segwit work and that is invaluable information, besides Litecoin is one of the oldest coins so people support it because they believe in it, and finally it seems there is less politics like in bitcoin and this allows for faster development.
