1481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is it better to invest in bitcoin or ethereum ? on: December 25, 2017, 08:09:41 AM
for long term purpose, which is better to invest in , Bitcoin or Ethereum ? Lets discuss that ..
for me at this point ethereum over btc because ethereum has also got potential to become the next btc whereas btc might gave peaked or near it's peak price.
ETH does not have the potential of being another BTC, why people keep making that comparison, if ETH ever surpass bitcoin do you think they will take bitcoin name? Of course not, Ethereum has its own identity and its own function, no one wants yet another copy of bitcoin, that is why almost all the forks that have originated from bitcoin are failing and are going to eventually disappear since they do not bring anything new to the community.
1482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which one to buy? Stocks Houses Gold or Bitcoin or Bonds? on: December 25, 2017, 06:36:21 AM
It is entirely up to you to decide which investment you want to put your money in, houses are a very safe investment but you need to take into consideration that you will have costs as well, and if you want to rent it you will need to deal with other people and sometimes people are not the nicest, gold is great but it does not generate income, bonds belong to governments and I will not trust them with my money, so it is not an easy decision.
1483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum on: December 24, 2017, 06:12:06 PM
I prefer the ethereum just because most of the ICO is usually based on a comparison with bitcoin ethereum, bitcoin prices despite the higher of the ethereum but not a warranties will give you an advantage.
You are correct but the problem is that heavy regulation already came to icos and I do not see that slowing down anytime soon, and in fact we are seeing more and more people that created fraudulent icos being arrested and while that is a good thing since we do not want scammers taking the money from investors this is something that is going to slow down the market of icos and that will slow down ETH as well.
1484  Economy / Economics / Re: do you think bitcoin is controversial ? on: December 24, 2017, 04:57:38 PM
Whatever allegations you make against bitcoin is already done with the use of fiat currency itself. It was not totally happening just after the entry of bitcoin.

Bitcoin is magnificent technology which could be used for progress like earning more and sending huge amounts of money with very low transaction fee.But if some use it for illegal activities, its their mindset and bitcoin could not be blamed for that.
Yeah people that blame bitcoin for illegal activities are nothing more than a bunch of liars, 99% of the crimes related to money are committed with fiat and no one is claiming for the disappearance of fiat, cars kill a lot of people each year around the globe and no one wants to ban cars, bitcoin is going to be used by bad people that is just the way it is if governments do not want that then they should make an effort to stop the development of bad people and not trying to stop the development of bitcoin.
1485  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: December 24, 2017, 03:50:39 PM
Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink
Not going to happen, governments will without a doubt create their own crypto that is something that is going to happen but no one is going to use it since they feel comfortable with their cash and their electronic money and once there is trouble and the economy begins to crumble as it is unsustainable they will try to use their own crypto to lure people but they are not going to be deceived again by the government.
1486  Economy / Services / Re: BitDice Casino Signature Campaign [WILL START 1 DECEMBER] on: December 24, 2017, 03:52:49 AM
Box, what did Alex say about the reduction of posts from 30 to 20 per week?  Thanks.

He's been too busy to address it so I'm guessing we're going with 30 for now.

We've currently got 3 open spots in the campaign. Looking for 2 Full members and one Hero/Legendary member.

Keep in mind the rates are 30 USD / 40 USD / 70 USD for Full, Sr. and Hero/Legendary members (respectively). Post your applications here and I will review them by wednesday. To those sticking around in the campaign, I'm glad to have you onboard. If there's changes to post count or pay rates I will notify you asap.

Merry Christmas!
Hi Box, I became a hero member in this period of activity, probably there are not spots for hero member but I'm fine with that, also I have updated my signature as well.
Hi Box, I do not know if you saw my message a few posts above so I'm quoting it since there seems to be an open spot for Hero Member.
1487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ate you going to spend or save you bitcoin? on: December 24, 2017, 03:48:52 AM
Invest for my retirement then spend like crazy Smiley
Unless you become very rich through bitcoin it is very unlikely that we are going to be able to spend like crazy however using bitcoin to invest for your retirement is a great strategy especially if you are not old, that is what I'm doing right now and while I do not have a lot of bitcoin it is obvious that with the recent growth in the price of bitcoin my investment is doing great already and it is going to do even better in the next decade.
1488  Economy / Economics / Re: Beside Cryptocurrenices where would you invest? on: December 24, 2017, 02:32:33 AM
A lot of people now days jumping and investing in the cryptocurrency industry.
If you are not investing in crypto, where do you else invest?
Property ? normal crowdfunding? give your input
There are many other investment options classic options include gold and silver and stocks, however everything can be an investment you just need to know what you are doing, if you have the money you could invest not only in precious metals but in regulars metals like copper or iron or you could invest in mines, as you can see there are many options but the best option is bitcoin so I prefer to invest in it than in those other investment options.
1489  Economy / Economics / Re: Still Buying Bitcoin at $10K? on: December 23, 2017, 09:41:06 PM
Yes of course, why not? Those that bought bitcoin $10,000 double their money today because bitcoin reached $20,000. what a nice investment.
But the problem is that even if the profits bitcoin can give are still good the profits it can give you are getting lower, many other people in the forum prefer to invest in an altcoin that is relatively new and instead of investing 10k and doubling their moneyin bitcoin, they invest that 10k in that altcoin and have a chance to get 10x or even 100x, if you are able to select the right coin you could become rich in just a few years.
1490  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Will Change Everything on: December 23, 2017, 08:34:00 PM
We are entering in the new type of economy where price predictions are not possible any more because productivity and prosperity of humanity will rise to the new golden age level. Bitcoin will go to 1 million dollars in 2018 and is being used by central banks as a global stardard ledger - dollar will fade slowly those who buy now will become the new wealthy elite.
Bitcoin has the potential to change everything but that does not mean that it is going to happen, governments can take a lot of actions that will limit the growth of bitcoin and if they do it then bitcoin is not going to become as big as we want, also central banks are not going to adopt bitcoin because if they do they will be recognizing their defeat.
1491  Economy / Economics / Re: Beside Cryptocurrenices where would you invest? on: December 23, 2017, 07:24:57 PM
I will try to diversify, so I think we can minimize the risk of investment. In addition, I will invest in some emerging industries, which have a large potential for development and are likely to gain greater benefits.
And why would you want to invest in some emerging industries when if you invest in cryptocurrencies you are already invested in an emerging industry if I'm going to invest in something else that are not cryptocurrencies then I'm going to invest in something else that is safer, so investments like gold and real estate will be my top choices when it comes to investing.
1492  Economy / Economics / Re: Which one is good, trading or investing? on: December 23, 2017, 04:13:51 AM
Both are good and which one you choose will depend on who you are and what you prefer, trading is great for those that like to take risks and like to be on top of things all day everyday, investing is for those that prefer a more passive style and that prefer to hold for the long term, the only problem with this strategy is that you need to choose the right coin because if you do not you could lose all your money.
1493  Economy / Speculation / Re: The christmas crash - who can pick the bottom on: December 23, 2017, 01:54:53 AM
I'm looking for some cheap btc around 12k and some real gifts at 10k

Come on you generous folks keep panic selling

What price will get you shopping for some festive BTC?
Right now is impossible to predict anything in crypto, the price is moving in ways we do not understand and that is why I have been a holder for some time, I realized trading was not for me long time ago and all these crazy movements in the market are not making me change my mind, personally I think the price could decrease even further and reach 11k.
1494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is not supported in some countries? on: December 23, 2017, 12:16:08 AM
I have heard that bitcoin is not supported in some countries. But why ? Is it because bitcoin is risky ? Some countries even declare 6 months jail if her people use bitcoin. Is it fair ? I mined few cryptos and have left mining. It was fun and challenging too. But I never got any clear answer. What does my gpu actually do ? I pay electric bill, my room temperature goes high and I get paid. With actually no skill on pc hardware and software. Whole thing is still pretty unclear to me
This is not about fairness, this is about control, you need to know your law and obey it, in my country bitcoin is not illegal and the enforcement of the laws is very lax so in case bitcoin was considered illegal I know I could get away with it if I wanted but if the application of the law is brutal and efficient in your country then the best thing you can do is to sell your bitcoin.
1495  Economy / Economics / Re: What coin do you believe will be next to bitcoin? on: December 22, 2017, 10:40:41 PM
Many influential people are behind bitcoin cash so I think it is one of those coins that follow bitcoin because bitcoin cash is the more improve bitcoin and there are many pro's in it. But bitcoin cash won't become bitcoin no matter what happens because bitcoin have a mark here in cryptocurrency. And I don't remove the possibility of etherium become one of those successful coins someday because the coin start rising together of bitcoin these past few months.

Would you advise me to buy bitcoin cash then? Or ethereum If their price can bounce faster than bitcoin itself?
Do not buy bitcoin cash it is a coin that is under extreme manipulation, I know that the profits are tempting but it is one of those coins that if you wanted to get them you should have done it before the fork, that way you will have both bitcoin and bitcoin cash in the same amounts now that the fork has passed you have lost your chance of getting bitcoin cash for free.
1496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin going down on: December 22, 2017, 07:41:23 PM
Bitcoin going down and down, current is $11,833.00

Any idea where it will stop and what is the reason behind this massive dump.
The price is above 13k now, but I get what you mean, the price needed a correction, you need to understand that in order for the price to grow so much we need new people entering the market, which means that  a lot of new people got in in that last months and now we are seeing the consequences of that, a lot of people are selling in panic and losing money as a result.
1497  Economy / Economics / Re: short term investment or long term invesetment on: December 22, 2017, 06:15:40 PM
When it comes to the investment, many newcomers or people with frequent requirement find it difficult to invest for longer amount of time. Here by short investment i mean any investment which is less than year old. That investment has been cashed out within a year. And by long term investment I mean investment which will be kept for more than year ( ideally 10 years or so).
What do you think which is more beneficial short term investment or long term investment
In traditional investing there have been many studies that prove that investing for the long term is way better than to invest for the short term, since you pay less in taxes and commissions but the issue in crypto is that all investments are very risky the only coin I'm willing to hold that long is bitcoin, every other coin other than bitcoin is a coin I'm willing to drop if something happens.
1498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is it better to invest in bitcoin or ethereum ? on: December 22, 2017, 01:20:30 AM
It is hard to know beforehand which out of these two coins will perform better in coming months so
best to hold both.
That is fine but at the same time that does not mean that you need to hold equal amounts of each of those coins since bitcoin is bigger I suppose it is way better to hold more bitcoin than to hold more ETH, also ETH is one of those coins that has movements not only influenced by its own news but by all the tokens created above it so it can be even more difficult to predict and that is why I like bitcoin better.
1499  Economy / Speculation / Re: Huge increase in Bitcoin price within last two weeks on: December 22, 2017, 12:11:18 AM
I think bitcoin is going to be below  $20,000 before the end of this year as a lot of people are dump it now for bitcoin cash because of the high mining fees the network is charging investors who may like to trade in bitcoin. Something has to be done about this in other for the to go up. 2018 is going to be a great year in the history of crypto currencies and we are to end the year 2017 above  $20,000 for us to start the new year with strong foundation.
People are selling their bitcoin for bitcoin cash out of greed traders have no loyalty and they are going to get whatever asset that is hot, they have been doing that since the beginning and they are going to keep doing so, now all the problem that you state are true and exists but solutions have already been voted and those solutions are on their way of being implemented.
1500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Ethereum on: December 21, 2017, 08:20:35 PM
Bitcoin is probably a safer bet, but Ethereum has the potential to really take off.
What do you mean by potentially taking off, the price is very high already and it has a gigantic market cap, if you want to invest in a coin that still has to take off you will need to invest in altcoins with a very low market capo or invest in icos, that is a risky proposition but making money is always risky especially if the way you have chosen to make money is through investing.
