2501  Economy / Gambling / Re: e͏t͏h͏e͏r͏c͏r͏a͏s͏h.ισ | 0-1% house edge | ETH & BTC Accepted 🏅 on: November 05, 2018, 08:48:09 PM
Its always been good to give out the latest or fresh news when it comes to big winners which is typically being done by most gambling site nowadays.
BTC for Busta and Eth for Ethercrash. Its really good to see both options.
Yup, they use this as a way to promote their website more as it also bumps up their ANN thread if they update who the big winner is. Also it also gives transparency to other members as they are showing that members do win in their gambling site, it is plus if that big winner is also a member here in the forum as he gets the chance to confirm his winnings just like what other winners do in other ANN thread.
2502  Other / Meta / Re: Thoughts on Moderators moderating their own topics? on: November 05, 2018, 08:20:23 PM
A moderator should be able to moderate his/her thread without requiring assistance from another moderator,i actually do not see any thing wrong in it, as a moderator is bestowed with that authority to moderate threads by deleting low content, spam and plagiarised content,so why not do that in his or her own thread..

As long as the moderator doesn't abuse the authority and delete threads that doesn't support his suggestions in the original posts, or goes about deleting posts he doesn't concur with, then it shouldn't be much of a problem

But if he/she does then it is abuse of power i think
But that is the problem, what OgNasty is trying to point out is there is a possible conflict on interest when a mod is creating a normal thread as it has powers of a "self-moderated" thread even without making it into one. As a moderator he can possibly delete the posts he doesn't like on his normal thread just like what normal members can do only on their self-moderated threads.
2503  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for investors or collaborators on: November 05, 2018, 06:45:35 PM
My point is even if you screen them at first you cannot control the quality of what they are posting if you leave them unmoderated or without screening what they are posting first.
My emphasis is not on the content, but on the users.
But judging on how you created the OP you are seriously looking at filtering the users (Invite only) in order to have good quality content. Just like what I said above even if you screened them at first leaving them unmoderated will make their post quality to go down. Your target group is also hard to find and maintain as you are looking for a dedicated and motivated person to keep posting in your website.

And from a technical standpoint I guess it will look more like reddit mashed with facebook than with steemit and medium.
But Steemit is already like Reddit where they have upvotes (which you earn money) and downvotes as well, their subreddits are called tags which is a little bit less organized compared to Reddit.
2504  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for investors or collaborators on: November 05, 2018, 05:24:46 PM
Remembered this similar strategy with a blogging/social networking site named Steemit, during their early days access to creating content to the website is limited to who only is invited to sign up but even that time you will see shitloads of poor quality content, from photo grabbing to plagiarism you will see it even if the content creators are only limited to only who is invited. My point is even if you screen them at first you cannot control the quality of what they are posting if you leave them unmoderated or without screening what they are posting first. These trash creators won't stop coming if there is money to be earned with the project you are creating.
2505  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How do I open my Electrum wallet? on: November 05, 2018, 02:17:02 PM
Google is almost right but if you don't remember the certain file name you must just use Finder's filter function instead, go to the Finder Window and choose the results by "Date Last Opened" here you can find your recently used files even the .exe file of your electrum. If you successfully found it you must now create an alias (shortcut) for your to easily access it again. Had some similar issues on some of the programs I have installed, particularly the ones who I had a hard time remembering, this way is much better because you don't have to remember the exact file name at all as all the files I have accessed are all in there.
2506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Floyd Mayweather set for New Year's Eve fight in Japan on: November 05, 2018, 12:41:46 PM
"exhibition of three, three-minute rounds." Sounds like MMA for me or at least a Kickboxing bout . Mayweather is technically fighting a rookie here with an outstanding record, if he pursued with fist only action on his terms/rules this fight won't be interesting as Mayweather will be the one dominating the game. Tenshin Nasukawa has a flawless record winning 27 of his bouts which 20 of those are KO wins, if this is Mayweather's way of entering the MMA industry he should blemish the record of this world champion, but I'll be happier if the Japanese wins the fight.
2507  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Electric Bikes runs on Lighning network on: November 04, 2018, 08:04:53 PM
Technically the bikes are still free, you are just paying the electric support component if you opt out using it. And with a base price of 250 satoshi per minute you are basically paying around .015$ per minute. which is ridiculously cheap for anyone who wants a motor assist in their journey. I think that his business idea's main goal is not for profit but for the introduction to Bitcoin in the growing demand of rental bikes in their area. But surely this kinds of business models don't last as they usually increase their rates once they get popular in the market.
2508  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of the Bitcoin?? on: November 04, 2018, 06:31:52 PM
Simply seeing Bitcoin staying above at 6,000$ level shows that there are still a lot of people hodling it and they are hoping that it will go up, even if it is in the 5k or 4k level as long as it is trying to stay up it simply shows that BTC still has a fighting chance in this market. Now I know that the bear market really test a lot of peoples' patience as it shows hopelessness on their holdings but as long as there is demand there is still hope. Do not be fooled with other hopeless people and FUD, you should believe in what you are hodling because you might regret selling it.
2509  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-11-03]Most American Voters Consider Cryptos as Fiat Currency, Survey Shows on: November 04, 2018, 05:08:59 PM
As far as I know the Federal Election Committee (FEC) only prohibits contributions coming from foreign nationals and corporations but they are not strict with what kind of contributions you give to the candidate may it be an item or service as long as the value of what you are giving is within the limits the FEC has given to a particular candidate or party. The only thing I can think of when not allowing cryptocurrencies as donation is when the FEC thinks it is a threat on their current kinds of "prohibited donations", as long as the money is traceable with reference this shouldn't be an issue for their part.
2510  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Any possible legal issues of doing transactions with cryptocurrencies? on: November 03, 2018, 03:28:16 PM
Try finding the local board of your country here in the forum, since we don't know what country you are living in, the best people to answer your question is of course your fellow countrymen.  And don't assume that even if they have a local board here it doesn't mean that BTC is fully legal in your country so you should really ask. Other than that you could type in the google search bar : YourCountry and the word BTC/Cryptocurrency, you should get hundreds of results in there and find out whether or not cryptocurrencies has limits in your country.
2511  Other / Meta / Re: Adding a master account field to profiles. on: November 03, 2018, 10:17:55 AM
All of the previous posts regarding on proving your ownership of the alt account seems to be on point. You can either put it on their signature or personal message just like how DarkStar_ did it to his alt account or you can tag it like what hilarious did to his alt account. Both methods are an easy fix on legitimizing your ownership of the account as it can easily be seen by other members here in the community.
2512  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks must adopt new technologies to survive an ongoing “extinction phase” on: November 01, 2018, 09:05:23 PM
Clearly the "extinction phase" they are talking about is not about them going out of business but their way on moving out from their traditional way of banking to a much up to date system and that involves technological integration. I just think that they over-exaggerated the "extinction" event but banks survived and they have quickly adapted to change. Although there is no mention about cryptocurrencies or blockchain in the article they might still be involve to their coming change and we just don't know it yet.
2513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: November 01, 2018, 08:36:59 PM
Adrien Broner is a former 4 time world champion (4 weight class) so somehow Manny Pacquaio should not take easy on this guy. On another side note, Broner's 3 losses is made via decision so knocking this guy would be really tough.

Since fighting with Pacquaio is kind of a honor for any boxers especially at lower ranks, therefore they will do everything just to knocked him out because once they did that, their names will be remembered, their ranks will be leveled up and more offers with highest money at stake will surely follows. That's what I see on Broner.

Pacquaio will surely the favorites here, no doubt about that.

About age? Never mind.  Cool
On a similar scenario, Lucas Matthysse was also ranked # 8 when he faced off Pacquiao but he didn't had the chance to even make him look like he can handle Pacquiao. But the main difference here is that Matthysse had a loss via KO compared to Broner only having losses via UD. Adrien Broner might be a tougher fighter as he has yet to touch the canvass but I think with Pacquiao's never dying work ethic he can still pull out a KO victory if he played it smart just like what he did versus Matthysse. Who knows Broner will also work his ass off as well and might stand a chance against the legend.
2514  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Anyone interested in buying a working (unpublished) crypto app? on: November 01, 2018, 07:45:55 PM
eternal gloom is right on what he said, but there is a loophole from it. You should create a website of your service first in order for you to somehow create a app version of it. Directly having a crypto investment app without any website backing it will instantly deny it to ever be published in any of the app store. You must make your service legit first by creating a website for your main business not the app first. Google and Apple is strict now and don't want to be attach on this kinds of services which solely is running from their app store.
2515  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can we do if a bounty manager did not pay the tokens as they promised? on: November 01, 2018, 07:06:31 PM
There's a cheap message on their Telegram channel stating:
Quote
There was a mistake in the table provided as it showed allocation for all the campaigns and not this  particular bounty campaign
There are more campaigns planned.
We will provide a bonus to the ones participating in future campaigns that participated in this one.
We are sincerely sorry 🙏 for the gross miscalculation
How incompetent can one be, not assigning the correct quantity? … or how machiavellian can one turn by reassigning the pool size upon distribution?.

The Bounty manager is involved in a couple of previous scam accusations judging by the comments on the Trusted Feedback. That wasn’t a good indicator to start with.. If you’re worried about your bounty tokens, imagine just how trustworthy the whole ICO is likely to be …

They probably planned it, from a million dollars down to a tenth of what they are originally offering for me it doesn't look like an unnoticeable "miscalculation" on their part. They probably did it in order to make their bounty campaign attractive to other people. Now that they have a lot of participants they made the necessary adjustments for their bounty campaign, this adjustments are obviously planned out as a business strategy. Yes it is dirty but you can't do anything about it as it is hard to prove that they did it intentionally.
2516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: November 01, 2018, 06:14:14 PM
~snip~
He needed this break as everyone thinks that there is no tank left in his tenure as an mvp in the league. But what did you expect? Him being this good and creating his all time high? He even almost broke KAT's record of the most points scored in a game for the franchise which is 56 points. He did everything today and he even blocked the shot which will send them into overtime. I understand why he was so emotional as he proved himself today that he still got it, I'm so glad to see that his fans as well as his teammates are happy for the win. Plus they get to wear the most popular jersey design for the team as well. Wink
2517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking back at the White paper... Do you think Satoshi would be proud of us? on: November 01, 2018, 02:28:41 PM
The problem is this new industry is built on centralized control and he did not want that. Satoshi wanted us to be free from currency price manipulation and also exploitation from centralized services that always misuse their power.

We already see how some of the bigger exchanges are misusing their power and how people's accounts are locked when they break the ToS agreements. <Simple stuff like using their accounts for online gambling.>  Roll Eyes
Unfortunately Bitcoin don't have any kinds of safeguards in order to avoid the things you have mentioned. Also without any regulation taking place mass adoption seems to be impossible as from what I am seeing the cryptocurrency industry needs the government more than the government needs them. All the scams and frauds and other criminal activities taking place in this industry is hurting their economy that is why they need to step in. It seems to me that BTC cannot purely act independently with the original two willing parties agreeing to the transaction.
2518  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-31] Bitcoin Trader Faces Five Years in US Jail for Unlicensed Money Tra on: November 01, 2018, 12:30:57 PM
I think he made a smart move. Pleading guilty to the crimes he committed will make him face lesser punishment rather than the maxmimum allowed for his case. And to think of him having 5% mark up on his daily 1 million dollars transaction between 2016 to 2018, handing over 800 thousand dollars would be nothing compared to what he have earned surely. Another thing is that he will probably be serving time in a white collar prison which is less harsh compared to some violent prisons out there. This 21 yo will still be comfortable by the time he gets out of jail.
2519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking back at the White paper... Do you think Satoshi would be proud of us? on: November 01, 2018, 10:46:42 AM
While BTC is not known for being used in direct payments without the us of 3rd party services I think that Satoshi will be more than happy on what BTC has achieved. Even if it failed to become a popular payment method used by a lot of people I think that Satoshi is more than happy to see that it created a new industry (cryptocurrency market) and also to see that the conccept of Blockchain is now being used to other ways inside businesses it clearly has helped a lot of people and entities to grow more.
2520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: October 31, 2018, 09:41:26 PM
Adrien Broner stated that he is ready for war but looking at hist recent fights he is on a rocky start him being rank #8 compared to Pacquaio being #2 which is behind Terrence Crawford makes him at a disadvantage. Also one thing to not at is Pacman will be 40 years of age on the day of the bout but I don't see age as a factor based on the way he fight. It will look like Manny Pacquaio will still be the favorite to win the match.
