Isn't printscreening a solution for these kinds of paid services? Not unless they have a security permissions like Netflix that detects and blocks the printscreen function you can freely do it on any infographic you produce on that website. For uploading the screenshot images themselves I think you must go to image hosting services like postimage where you can choose what size (original or  resized resolution) of the image can be uploaded. The good thing is they also let you create your own account where you can store and organize your uploaded images to them, it's pretty neat actually.
1542  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: 8% NY state tax on resold miners on: August 11, 2019, 05:30:12 PM
Just to make things clear, it's not a special tax coming from the NY bitlicense, but a normal 8% sales tax.
Quote
The combined sales tax rate for New York, NY is 8%. This is the total of state, county and city sales tax rates.
If you are a resident you probably do owe it. It's not a novelty. Weren't you aware of this tax?
You can always consult a lawyer. Maybe there's a loophole that will allow you to at the very least lower the amount that you owe.

If you read the letter provided with a link in the OP's thread you will see that he have imported a personal property from abroad which I think is the main cost of why he has having an additional tax liability in the first place. There's really no problem if the miners he sold came from US soil but the miners he have bought and resold came outside of the US and it's territories which is really subject to tax even if it was second hand. The only thing I can think of is to either settle a lower amount or try to find tax deductions related to the tax involved. I would also do some background checks on how they have come to the price of 7,921$ so seeing a breakdown/computation for it is necessary to see if they are accurate during 2017.
1543  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Available courses on Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology from colleges and Univers on: August 11, 2019, 04:42:03 PM
Are college students actually taking any of these courses? Considering that it's not a prerequisite to their degrees and also they are adding much more cost to their tuition fees by just adding another optional subject to their expenses. If they do want to promote a blockchain related program in their college I think the option of offering a full course for free is a great option for them and the students especially if that course would only cover a small subject I don't think it would be the university's loss by giving it away for free. But that's just wishful thinking and I know universities like what's mentioned in the OP are strict on matters like this and they are just offering these courses just to say they are "involved" in cryptocurrencies.
1544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does card counting really work in Blackjack? on: August 08, 2019, 08:25:04 PM
I used to know of a barman who watched people losing on machines and then wait till the place was empty to then collect the now profitable slots return some of the cash deposited.

Huh. Didn't know there were slot machines whose odds changed when people were losing. Well, you learn something new every day I suppose.

I don't think there is one though. I know slot machines are the worst way to go to a casino if you want to win some. There's a probability that you will win the game and not some few cashbacks into you but its really at random. Slot machines really don't have a threshold where if it reach it suddenly becomes more profitable at the end, so in theory even if that "barman" is waiting for his turn on that slot machine it doesn't really increase his chances of winning the jackpot. Still card games like Blackjack or Baccarat where you can decide on where your money will really go.
1545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 08, 2019, 07:19:24 PM
I'm taking back on what I said about Patrick Cutrone being equal to Rafael Leao, I was wrong on saying that Leao wasn't really an upgrade to Cutrone but after seeing what he did with Lille OSC and all I can say is FINALLY we have a fast-paced forward that can dribble and score goals. The best thing about this kid is he already accepted the role as a second striker behind Piatek and he is hoping to give a lot of assists for him. It's very rare to see a player who accepts a supporting role. Hoping that the Milan-Correa move won't push through now since Leao would just be a rotational player after this.
1546  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lending flags on: August 08, 2019, 06:36:57 PM
I only have supported your flag against otcrypto ----

P.S.
Supported the flag again, it seems like I have supported it when the flag wasn't still visible on his profile.

and yet he has showed up in none of them, I don't think someone would say that is going to do/has done something twice and lie about it

Well that's weird I already supported the flag two times already. The first one was through the link where the flag wasn't still visible to his profile and the second one was when the flag is visible to his profile and he already got tagged. This is already my third time now so I'll be providing a screenshot as a proof that I did supported the flag. Also I'm not deleting and withdrawing my support if you may ask.

1547  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [NEWS] Duterte halts lotto, other gaming schemes licensed and franchised by PCSO on: August 08, 2019, 03:08:21 PM

Yung target lang naman ng ating pangulo is not the business itself but the owners of the licensed lotto businesses.
1548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 07, 2019, 08:42:38 PM

Juventus just sold Moise Kean to Everton, I don't think Juventus would be pulling any trigger with Dybala if they don't have a replacement for him.

Exactly consider also the fact that Mandzukic and Higuain are also available for selling.

Both players are rapidly losing their value especially Higuain which was the latest offer for him by Chelsea after the loan was 30 million Euros. He didn't even really shine on both of his stint with A.C. Milan and Chelsea which only depreciated his value more. If I were them I'll prioritize offloading Higuain off the team before he gets viewed by other teams as a bargain value only player before on even considering offloading Dybala off the team. As for the market I don't see any big name forwards who wants out of their teams yet so transfer options for Juventus are really slim at present.
1549  Economy / Economics / Re: Australian Tax Office allows you to claim for lost (incl. stolen) private keys on: August 07, 2019, 08:06:32 PM
It still is considered as a tax deductions as you are lessening your taxes it's kinda like how expenses work on deductions towards your income so it's still considered "tax deductions" in legal terms. This is sort of a no-brainer when it comes to any tax obligations since a stolen or an unretrievable private key is already considered lost or stolen so if the Australian government tries to tax you with the funds you don't have access with then they are just simply greedy of your money.
1550  Other / Meta / Re: @Theymos sir plsz on: August 07, 2019, 07:19:53 PM

Initially, it's clear some users have no interest engaging in a discussion, it's just a matter to post "Flash News: Russia did this and that, paragraph, read more here" but there are truly some who are. You can find whole topics of 'normal discussions' (crazy right?). Try to read the same in a Bitcoin discussion topic. I find it hard to force people to add their own thoughts and I doubt it will be better. They will add shitposts, I prefer to read "Flash News: Russia did this and that, paragraph, read more here".

How about making a discussion after the news article share in the OP mandatory then? I love it when the OP aside from sharing the news also discussed the article on hand, it acts a conversation starter on how the thread will go and it simply mitigates the chances of having a free-for-all/post-what-you-want kind of thread. Aside from that it also makes the news more interesting especially when the OP is also active in the discussion, because sometimes when members post news articles I don't find interesting at first but they do start a discussion it makes me (and maybe other members) want to join the discussion at hand.
1551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 07, 2019, 06:31:27 PM
Is there still any possibility of Dybala to Tottenham ? Because Tottenham just completed the signing of Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis in a deal worth over €55 Million. Perhaps, they've pulled out of the deal already.

Juventus just sold Moise Kean to Everton, I don't think Juventus would be pulling any trigger with Dybala if they don't have a replacement for him. So it would be a pretty dumb move on their part if they just sold all their forwards without having at least talks to other players. But if they do accept the offer first I could see that they'll have loads of cash north of 110 million euros and that gives them a lot of room to sign a star forward like Neymar, still a risky move for Juventus on selling Dybala first if they don't attract those stars joining the team.
1552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone else get crazy high anxiety when they transfer btc between wallets? on: August 07, 2019, 05:51:58 PM
Because one wrong character or number in adress and your lovely bitcoins are gone forever
That's not true. Bitcoin addresses contain a built in checksum, so if you accidentally change a character or two, the checksum will not match up. You will almost certainly end up with an invalid address which your wallet will not accept. The chance of generating a valid but incorrect address from a typo is about 1 in 4.3 billion.

You can read more about it here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Address#What.27s_in_an_address

There is a chance that he might be talking about the copy/paste or clipboard virus here that has just infected a lot of crypto users recently. The way the virus' works is when you copy your own address it will replace it with a similar address which they control hoping that the user will send the cryptocurrency on the wrong address. So there is really nothing wrong on double checking your wallet address once or twice to see if its really the right one, I mean we are talking about our money here.

NOTE:
FOR Newbies check out how this virus works on your desktop so you get the idea on how they do it.
1553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone else get crazy high anxiety when they transfer btc between wallets? on: August 06, 2019, 07:43:36 PM
You don't have to wait for your Bitcoin to reflect in your wallet just so you know that you already have it. Just by looking at any block explorer website (just like this one) and putting in your tx id or even one of your Bitcoin addresses you are using in the transaction is enough for your to know that you have an incoming BTC going inside your account. The block explorer is there just for you to have a peace of mind every time you send and receive Bitcoin. Bitcoin's Blockchain is right available in our browser just don't be shy on using it.
1554  Other / Meta / Re: @Theymos sir plsz on: August 06, 2019, 06:35:55 PM
If we will rule all this crypto specialized news websites we are only left with thomson-reuters and bloomberg as a reliable source for getting news articles the downside is they aren't even focusing on cryptocurrencies right now.

Then just get rid of the board. The Press section was created when any news article was exciting and notable when it got mentioned by a big site, but now bitcoin is mentioned every day somewhere or another, and then of course there's all the coin-prefixed sites you mention that just regurgitate the same old story or make an entire article over what some celebrity tweeted about bitcoin or because John Mcaffe says bitcoin will be worth x amount and will eat his own dick if it doesn't get there. If it stays then we either need to prohibit those sites or elaborate on what notable actually means.

This was just posted in Press:

How to sell EBooks for Bitcoins

~snip~

That board really isn't for this sort of stuff.

It's really not the board itself the problem here it's these members promoting these websites are. I remembered that some members here actually admitted that they are getting paid just to share every news from the website in the press board, they don't actually care about the news they only care about sharing all the articles being posted in this board. The end result is the press board becomes a news curator of worthless and unreliable news, some are not even related to Bitcoin just like what you have shared. If this board gets some kind of strict enforcement about what news to share and what news to not share then we might start to see that the Press board is useful on our part.
1555  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN BEATS STOCKS on: August 06, 2019, 04:32:24 PM
*Bitcoin beats stocks in terms of search popularity in Google. Next time you ceeate a topic title you should also not be misleading a lot of people just like the news article you have provided. For all the newbies out there search popularity in Gtrends is not a reliable source to based on your analysis towards Bitcoin's price movement. It's just that Bitcoin is still a new word compared to stocks and gold and it also has the biggest noise compared to the both of them that is why it is leading in Gtrends
1556  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC LIMITS on: August 06, 2019, 03:49:15 PM
I'm pretty sure the 2nd question requires some kind of KYC and AML procedure at the end not unless we are talking about a illegal exchange here you will still be forced to show some of your public documents before or after the transaction happen. So if you are just asking this just because you want to find a legal loophole or something on transferring big amounts using an exchange then don't waste your time.
1557  Other / Meta / Re: @Theymos sir plsz on: August 06, 2019, 02:43:41 PM
The problem is what websites/news sources do you count as a reliable source? Because every time I visit the board I'll just only see news articles from coinidol, coindesk, and cointelegraph and more often than not they always have a similar offering in terms of the quality of news they are offering. They always try to create news from tweets, current events and relate it to price movements in the market, criminal activities, and of course bans and regulations happening in the world. The worst part is they themselves are sourcing their news from one another and recycle it only a few tries to create their own news articles. If we will rule all this crypto specialized news websites we are only left with thomson-reuters and bloomberg as a reliable source for getting news articles the downside is they aren't even focusing on cryptocurrencies right now.
1558  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Idea of exchange platform on: August 05, 2019, 07:39:38 PM
You might just be talking about a marketing strategy for them to increase their users and I doubt that they have not think about that themselves. Ruling out all the possibilities of promotions like Google Adsense and Adwords and also Facebook ads I know their marketing department already have think about all the other ways to increase their users. Also increasing trading volume is something an exchange cannot control, they cannot force their users on trading with them and they cannot stop them from joining and trading in other exchange. If you are only talking about some kind of commission scheme then you can rule it out as well since with the service fee they already have I don't think that they will be open on sharing some of their profits from their users.
1559  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lending flags on: August 05, 2019, 06:34:31 PM
I only have supported your flag against otcrypto since the collateral he is giving is way off compared to the loan he is asking, 500$ for a 200,000$ loan is just way too much to even consider that amount as a collateral. The loaner is simply risking a big amount for just a fraction of his collateral. On Blink's case even though his offering of BIFI is valid and it's on the loaners end if he/she accepts it as a collateral even though only a few exchange accepts it, and you should consider the value of what he is asking and that's only 8$. The same thing can be said on Dummyticketxo's case it would really depend on how the potential loaner view's his collateral in terms of its value. They might be newbies asking for loan but I think only otcrypto has the highest chance to scam you.

Up to a point I do actually agree with you. But since the "incident" I had with a "likely scammer", and some neg trust+flag left behind, I'm well aware that it's not about the amount to be scammed, but actually about the scam itslef (the situation was a whole misunderstanding caused by some devil-ish beer I had had). That's why even if it's still up to the lender to take the risk, a type 1 flag is okay to me; because the action itself is high-risk.

PS: I dont see you are supporting the flag Huh

One personal incident with one scammer does not simply make other members scammers as well. Going in with your assumption would simply make all the newbies even asking for a loan a scammer even if they have a collateral to do so. I won't simply jump on that kind of judgement simply because of their rank or the collateral they are offering, if I am the one covering the loan I would simply just negotiate the amounts or ask for an escrow just to keep the deal working on both of our sides.

P.S.
Supported the flag again, it seems like I have supported it when the flag wasn't still visible on his profile.
1560  Economy / Economics / Re: What is behind the past few days of rally? on: August 05, 2019, 04:36:03 PM
The movement we are seeing now is more technical in nature rather than a news related one. Bitcoin for almost a week or two have denied to go down below 9,000$ making the bears' position the the market weaker thus making the bulls gain momentum at the same time. The breakout happened because the market denied the possibility of this bull market to end prematurely. Right now the RSI is on the oversold level but I don't expect it to go down below 11,000$ but simply consolodate in that area.
