Shouldn't my name be removed from this list now?  Cheesy

Like that capitol one commercial:
John Travolta Santa says: "Have you stopped using bad words?"

In all actuality, if you've been here 10 years and you haven't pissed people off, you're not doing it right.
2523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 04, 2021, 06:20:59 PM
Washington Football Team

Now, about that name;  I read an editorial not long ago that claimed Dan Snyder (owner of the ForeSkins) who is a Premier League fan was considering officially naming the team Washington Football Club, or WFC.  Although conflating football with football is likely to add confusion in some cases, I must admit I don't hate that.  WFC seems to flow off the to tongue in a seamless way.  Where as WFT seems destined to trip you up, almost taunting ones dyslexia.

I'd be timid about betting against the Ravens, but I wouldn't say the same about the Saints.  The odds for the Bears seem rather high to me, maybe a dark horse in NFC.
2524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 04, 2021, 04:17:54 AM
Al Michaels just called the Washington Football Team the "Redskins," for the second time.  Then he said "That's two bitcoins I owe to the producer."  Lol, bitcoin is mainstream now!
2525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 04, 2021, 03:31:13 AM
Bizarre watching the Eagles be the better team against Washington, at least this quarter.

It's not looking good for Washington, the Eagles just picked off Alex Smith at the 15, and now they're driving towards the goal line.  I put a bet on safe parlay; I only Antonio Gibson to score, over 43.5, and Washington to win.

Here we go 4th and goal for the Eagles, and incomplete pass.  No points on that turnover, they had a perfect chance to tie up the game.  Huh

2528  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Just curious as to whether anyone here has actually used a Ballet wallet on: January 04, 2021, 12:40:13 AM
Well, I gifted the Ballet wallet to the family member I mentioned, and he was very happy to get it... So let's hope Ballet doesn't have a master list of private keys stored wherever they're located.  It's a damn nice-looking wallet, and it's easy to store.  That security issue just makes my skin crawl, though.

The Ballet wallets do look cool, but I agree about any key that's been generated by others.  I recently gifted my brother a couple of bitcoin pennies DIY coins.  I funded them myself, and of course I generated the keys myself.  I did warn my brother that he has no guarantee that I didn't keep a copy of the keys.  Grin  I did save a copy, just in case he loses the pennies.

I would use such a gift to do exactly what you're trying to do; educate a curious family member or friend.  Now that they have a stake in the game, they'll have real motivation to learn about bitcoin.

Dolphins PO dreams are getting squashed by the Bills,

So are my dreams of a new truck.  That and the Browns didn't cover.  But the 9ers are totally going to win.

This was my real bet for the morning.  I decided that Lamar and company have yet to disappoint me this season, so I went with the following parlay.

I didn't quite bet the farm on it, but I'm back into double digit mBTC winnings for the season.

2532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 03, 2021, 06:13:01 PM
Not with 49ers, no.

How else would I get 33,878 to one odds?  Undecided
2533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 03, 2021, 04:39:18 PM
Touché. But I've already done multis that I regret, so I got that covered Smiley

I can recall a few poker hands that I decided were worth an expensive bluff, but weren't.  And I'm sure there are plenty more that I don't care to recall, lol.  Does that count?

All that matters is if it felt good doing it Smiley

Ok, now you've shamed me into a parlay of all 16 games. I didn't want to go through the hassle of depositing new funds for a measly 5000x payout LOL so I just scraped up some change... still would be good enough for an early retirement. I'm guessing the bet will be dead by around 1:30 PM EST Grin

Hmm, early retirement sounds nice.

Okay fine, 16 games, you talked me into it.  Of course the sports book limited my wager to a very small sum, so early retirement isn't gonna happen but a new truck might.  Grin

In any case, are the Dolphins a good team to be given only +2.5? Should it be not +7?
I want Miami to win but I agree with you here. It's actually down to +2 and +1.5 in a few books. AFAIK Bills are starting Josh Allen. They might ease up a little now they clinched their playoff spot, whereas Dolphins will be coming full throttle. I still don't think it will be enough and project Tua will choke under the pressure (though I hope I'm wrong). My only bet I placed for tomorrow was Titans -7... seems like it should be easy enough for them.

The Bills look like a sure thing on paper, but there are too many variables at play with this one.  Miami has a lot to gain, and the Bills have little to lose.  Worst case scenario they would have to play an away game in Pittsburgh on their way to Kansas City.

I like that, I may shadow you on that one.  I also like the Cardinals at -2.5 for the same odds, or Green Bay at -3.5 for slightly more.  I haven't decided yet, I'll probably work something out in the morning as I'm not in the mood tonight...

My daughter brought over some eggnog left over from Christmas, and you know, it has milk in it, so it's gonna go bad if it doesn't get consumed soon.  Like tonight...  I do what I can to help out.

The Gunners seem to be doing good business.

Excellent outing for the Gunners!  By the looks of the stat board they completely dominated WBA.  21 shots, 12 on target, 5 corners, and best of all; 4 goals!  Nice!

There's only a short highlight of Saka's goal (Arsenal's second, at 28 minutes) on youtube, anxious to see the rest of the highlights.

~
I need to win about 10 or 11 of the 17 bets to break even for the week.

Lol, I thought you were going to say that was your multi, and you had put 1BTC on it.  Grin

I like most of your picks, but yeah, the Chiefs...  And you never know about the Steelers, their defense could show up and keep it the scores to single digits.

Edit 3-3. Just as I was mentioning the EPL "drought" haha.
I can't believe Wolves lost their 2-goal half time lead in the second half.

Heartbreaking tie for the Wolves, you could see it in Otasowie's face as he missed that last second header.  Ouch!  Good match, though that was a fun watch.

It looks cold at The Hawthorns, I was looking forward to watching the Gunners play in the snow but the match isn't being broadcast at my location.  It's all about college football ('murican) Bowl games this weekend.

Go Gunners!

Edit: @DireWolfM14 as I was writing this post Manchester United have 2 quick corners look like its going to be bad for you.

Lol, yeah no sooner than you posted.

ETA: Now Villa just got to quick corners in stopage time, that did it in.  I considered going for the over, but hindsight is always 20/20.
