The rest haven't met the minimum amount of posts yet. Payments will be sent tomorrow so you have until the end of the day to make the rest. Thanks.

So you haven't rolled the posts forward for those who joined in mid/late first week?
I was sure I was on the safe side. Hope I made the minimum today. No worries if not.
2543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Supply of Bitcoin will be lessen when its owner die? on: February 15, 2018, 11:40:15 PM
Yes that has happened already and its said that almost three million coins have been lost due to such reason which has lessened the total availability of bitcoins from 21 million to just 17 million bitcoins along with one million bitcoins of satoshi which too remains unused.

You cannot say with certainty that any coins have been definitely lost (other than in cases like "bitcoin eater" address and similar). You can only make assumptions (based on inactivity etc) and make estimations.

ps can you share the source of that 3 mil estimate?

On the side note: I reckon that there must be quite significant, cumulative amount of bitcoins simply abandoned by people deleting old wallets with fractions of BTC in them, worth almost nothing at the time in fiat terms.

Requiring wagering for this is shame, you offer VIP? That's good, I think first two is already enough but if you require wagering a lot this isn't correct action and mustn't be acquited by the words that you only do this to make it difficult for people to create alt accounts.
Even it won't work.If I have some money to spend here, I will wager, also there is possibility to ask friend for verification here and not a one friend, a lot of friend, will wager on all account because have money (for example). So not a big deal, better to use different strategy.

Easy there buddy. Read his post again. Wager requirement is just one of three options to register for poker. You can still be invited by Dean/trusted reps or request it through social media or emailing support.

Accepting Payments:
The most straightforward approach to get into bitcoin as a business person is to start accepting bitcoin installments through a vendor /merchant solution.  In 2018, i think there were more than 600,000 (appx.) retailers that had just begun to acknowledge bitcoin payments through bitcoin installment processors like as Coinbase, BitPay and Coinify. And the good news is most of these are reputed companies.
...

Many merchants started to accept BTC just as a free marketing strategy, to get free publicity and drive in the Bitcoin enthusiasts. But, maybe with few exceptions, sales made in BTC were tiny, insignificant fraction of total sales and this probably got worse recently due to high fees and appreciation in fiat value.

The real problem is that very few people globally earn any income in bitcoins. No one will buy it just to spend it. Because of that Bitcoin can't establish itself as functional currency (it's deflationary design is not helping either), and almost all its value comes from speculative trading - people buy it hoping to earn more fiat.

And when it doesn't happen? What will he say then?

He'll just claim that the government changed their plan due to him exposing it and warning people, then he'll crown himself as saviour of the planet.
From quick research I see he already predicted imminent hyperinflation of USD back in 2009. Still waiting...

I sense some serious delusion of grandeur on this guy. Some people don't age well.
2547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Supply of Bitcoin will be lessen when its owner die? on: February 15, 2018, 10:41:11 PM
...If someone were to own large amounts of Bitcoin though, it is impossible for him to just die without leaving a clue for his family in order for them to  access his wallet.

Agree, but recoverability of such coins would vastly depend on how knowledgeable the family is. If they aren't aware of what Bitcoin is and of the holdings the deceased person - then the risk of them throwing away any pieces of paper with passwords on it (or erasing usb devices etc) is much higher.

There's also popular opinion that it's best not to share information of you holding significant amount of cryptos even with close family - for the safety reasons or in case of divorce.

What does any of this apparent hacking of the post count in your profile have to do with the fact that BTC HODLers (hopefully including ur selfie, even if you have been demonstrating hostility to yours truly) are either going to be RICHIE, soon, or at least less poorie... .?

Looks like we BTC peeps are about ready to test resistance at $10k  --- I don't know the odds of penetrating to the upside and staying there, but at least for the moment we are moving on up, as the Jeffersons might sing. getting closer, getting closer and Feeling good..... Feeling good.

Actually not a hack, just one of the many quirks of this forum, perhaps look into it before you accuse.

Any opinions on minnowbooster?
How does delegating to bot compare Vs leasing, income-wise? And how do I undelegate from bot?
I feel like delegating is much more profitable. You cannot undelegate from bot as the delegation is irreversible. You will have to wait until the end of the contract to receive your steem power back.

No, when you lease to someone, you need to wait till the end of contract period, you can undelegated from bot at any time, it's on the front page:

Quote
You can always undelegate but will lose the earnings for the current unfinished day

+ there's a cooling off, 7 day period.

Anyhow, I found my answer in FAQ, there's a link for undelegating.

I understand that, ...

Do you? The rest of your post suggests otherwise. Unless you're arguing just for the sake of it.

but there's still nothing to conclusively say that those assets must be worth such an amount. Take for example the case of a bank, there assets may include loans that they have granted to others. While on a balance sheet these may show a worth of $100m, if for some reason there is little confidence on these loans being repaid (say the loanee is in danger of going under) then this asset is actually worth much less.

This has got nothing to do with my argument being: healthy company won't collapse only due to the panic in stock market.
You came up with example of company going unhealthy without even mentioning correlation with stock market.

Not that it matters but banks (and not only) are legally required to assess the recoverability risks and make provisions for doubtful debts, which would be reflected in the balance sheet.

many a company has failed because their stock price fell and nothing more.

Name one. Just one. You can't. Health of the company influences its stock price, not the other way around.

Some of the more trusted senior members act as merit sources, ie. they receive part of a monthly pot of sendable merits to distribute amongst posts they deem constructive. In other words, there's a steady inflow of new sendable merits coming in.
...

Also worth to note that anyone can apply to become a merit source and that there is limited amount of sMerits issued, currently up to 11975 sMerit per 30 days.

The stock market has the same 3 states only. Similarly there is nothing preventing it from collapsing/seriously declining. It's all based on perceptions in either market, if people suddenly decide they do not want the stocks or the cryptos then they will collapse.

Not quite. Stocks are backed by the actual companies providing goods/services. To overly simplify: imagine listed, profit making company, with current position of $100 million net assets. If you hold a share representing 1% of company, then you wouldn't sell it for anything below $1 million no matter how crazy the market gets, just like you wouldn't sell $100 bill for $90.

You don't have this with crypto. There's no particular reason why BTC can't be worth say $1,000 or $100,000.

Roger Ver is going to be rolling out Bitcoincash ATMs:

I just bought 50 Bitcoin (BCH) ATM machines for a bit under half a million dollars. Thanks to our purchase the manufacturer has agreed to roll out BCH support to their existing 1000+ machines world wide!

It needs more publicity though - bitcoincash is fading out of the mainstream media coverage of crypto.

"I just bought 50 Bitcoin (BCH)"

It's BITCOIN CASH, not BITCOIN. He seriously needs to stop doing this.
BCH started of as a fork under different name, by their own choice. It's not Bitcoin by any definition, even if it adheres to the original Bitcoin whitepaper more than the "legacy" Bitcoin does.

I'm pretty sure RV pushes BCH=Bitcoin only because he chose to jump from BTC to BCH while still owning "Bitcoin.com" and "r/btc".

c) Have played dice (or other games we launch in the future) by depositing to BetKing. Not faucet.
...

Is there a minimum wagered requirement? If not, that won't really stop anyone from creating multiple accounts.

Would you also disallow multiple players logging in from same ip to play at the same table or same tournament?

Are there going to be a separate balances for poker and dice, or can players use the same funds to play both?

Have you decided on buy-in/blinds structure? If so, can you share the details?

I guess in the US it's less stupid than in Europe, since if you end up broke you can still declare personal bankrupcy and your debts disappear.

Except for the student loan, which normally wouldn't be discharged in bankruptcy process.

...
In Europe you will never ever get rid of your debts. This I know for sure.

Where did you get that idea from? Of course you can declare bankruptcy in any European country, depending on the country, process can be easier or harder, but definitely possible. In the UK people are declared insolvent or bankrupt at a rate of ~250 people a day.

As he told me on Telegram, “it’s not safe to have Bitcoin in my country.”) He told me he originally found the puzzle because he and his wife enjoy solving riddles and he was deliberately looking for puzzles related to cryptocurrencies.

Hope he's not going to get in trouble and manages to enjoy his prize somehow.
