the name is unusual, but according to your announcement, I did not recognize almost anything. you do not write about what your project aims at and how you will achieve them.

They did say to don't expect to get rich from this  Grin

they iam to the next doge coin which is a meme coin

Well, if I was going from this angle, and trying to make Garlicoin a MEME coin, If I was a DEV, I'd be working very, very hard to get some time of

'meme celebrity' like Paris Hilton, (shudder) or someone to be hyping it...you want a 'meme' coin, it is not gonna pump up to anything without that kinda 'hype' IMHO

2662  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 15, 2018, 09:06:43 PM
Thus I predict that you will be the one looking back to this day, years from now, no longer recognizing the world that you live in.

You're right I won't. Because if the Tech industry has its way, all human workers will be replaced by AI and androids. And we'll all be broke and homeless, can't afford healthcare, and trying to work the measly 'gig economy' jobs that are left.

Do I sound pessimistic?  Cheesy

Warren Buffet (I think) said that robots, should be taxed at a level of the replacement of human workers..otherwise people will be paying services and any productive gains

to society (taxes/etc) will not keep up.....something like that....may have a point...I can't see a lot of 25 to 65 blue collar workers ALL sitting around 'passively' as their

'legitimate' high paying skilled jobs get outsourced to 'robots'....there will be 'social consequences' big time...if it is not addressed correctly (what correctly is, I've no clue)

Somebody is gonna make a lot of money....making an app...that will take your NOW empty LTC or BTC wallet and just mining the hell out of it with all the latest forks

to LTC or BTC say...for a fee...

what do we have now for LTC forks? 5? or so....hell has be over 25 now for BTC

and not even condering dust wallets on the laptop...how the heck could you figure out if they had anything in them when the fork happened...

I just ignore them I guess...don't want a 'taxable event' by moving them ....but still it looks like quite the 'cluster' for anyone that wants to jump into this snake pit

for LTC forks

IMHO

2664  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital Money = Cashless Society on: April 15, 2018, 07:08:52 PM

Going to tough to have Digital Money as crypto = cashless society ...unless banks are going to allow credit card use (and or application cards ..like litepay for

litecoin was supposed to be) and they just kill it dead...as not accepted

Bitpay needs to expand to all crypto (LTC) etc in some manner..they already have their foot in the door for maybe fixing this

as to other players, they are getting slap'd down fast by banks for even trying

just my view, as it stands now...

so if you believe in HODL it is just a 'heavy' paper wallet with a private key on it Smiley Stick it in a safety deposit box...
(man, there are worse problems to have but yours...indeed!)

I do keep it in a safe deposit box, but here's the real problem: It doesn't make sense for me to own such a valuable item that just sits in a safe deposit box. I would rather have the BTC in a wallet so that I can spend it if I need to.

This is something that someone like Tim Draper or the Winklevoss twins, or even a few people on Bitcointalk, would own. They have thousands of BTC, so owning a bar worth 100+ BTC would make sense.

Well, that is the catch, you move it to a wallet...I assume it has the private key on a wallet on the secret tab....thus it is a 'big paper wallet' with weight

If indeed you want to move coin..you would have to look at that address etc hidden on this brick as such (I assume) and just move the works that way

to a trezor or a paper wallet...you likely WOULD have to IMPORT it as a paper wallet first (maybe others on here can give better advice)

but again, I have btc in a paper wallet in a safety deposit box ..so I WON'T spend it

anyway, yeah you want to spend it you have to move it or if it acts like a paper wallet IMPORT it into something you can move coin in/out easy

(me, I'm in denial..I just HODL)

So PRETTY!

2666  Economy / Collectibles / Re: My loaded 100 BTC Casascius Bearer Bar on: April 15, 2018, 06:58:43 AM
Many years ago, I bought a loaded 100 BTC Casascius Bearer Bar. Now, its value has gone up so much that I no longer feel comfortable holding it.

The first bits are 1Gop7ok6. It is version 2. I don't have any good pictures but I will take some if there is interest.

I don't want to peel it, but I don't know anyone that can afford to buy it. Is there anyone here might be interested in buying it?

Some stats from uberbills:

143 100 BTC Bearer Bars were made.
91 have been peeled.
11 were opened last year.
1 has been opened so far this year.
There are only 52 left (12 are v1 and 40 are v2).

Also, 1344 Casascius coins and bars were opened last year. 357 have been opened since the beginning of this year. They are getting more and more scarce.

so if you believe in HODL it is just a 'heavy' paper wallet with a private key on it Smiley Stick it in a safety deposit box...

Please don't count me  with other buyers.   I have yet to be billed.

I have 5x T1's and 1x B52

I have stated  on the forum I have yet to be billed.  So I can't say I hate anyone.  From their company.

I gave stated  early buyers got hurt.  I als told everyone don't buy until I get get and give results.

Results are  showing it is most likely  a little better then the s-9

ok...my bad.....good to know...but yeah...what I was shooting for...all and all ....oranges to oranges between models and companies

" a little better then the S-9"

that clears up how this all shook out

thanks

good   this will allow 4 units on  a 30 amp pdu.

please post link  for firmware when you can.

I just drove over to the solar array and did

firmware update #1

firmware update #2  should be great  looking forward to it.

Ah, but Phil...did they not 'get you' on electricity with the DragonMint units? or is Innsilicon units less of a risk of not meeting spec?

(just saying...not a slam...from what I've seen on this thread)

2669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: April 14, 2018, 10:08:09 PM
I just checked the calculators for the first time in weeks...

It is not pretty that's for sure. Good thing I did not check 3 days ago when prices were 114. I might have shut down my miners for now  Sad

About time to look for a cheaper data centre with better electricity prices :/  Because with 70 bucks profit a month on multiple machines, it's not going to last long.

Only good, they already ROI. Still a shame to have functioning machines

Best I got is $100 per KW...colohub now is going to $120 or $125 per kWh ..... comes out to ONE L3+ = $80 a month 'flat rate'

that DOES include setup and tweaking etc miners down and all that effort...in that 14c kWh is 2c more than what I'd pay in my basement (if room)

I will just go with it ...it IS month to month though...I doubt I'll have these miners up (L3's and L3+'s) in say Sept 2018

winding it up...

thus the month the month works for me...I had the Titans up till this Month...I paid in Adv till June 2018 of all my 7,300mh or so of hash. (at least I did

something as a 'hedge' with the 15k btc for this pay ahead......)..Now that the Titans

are down ...my elec use I pre-paid on those was converted to L3+'s  (3 L3+'s is 2400 watts vs 2 Titans at 2500 watts) so MAYBE I can mine for little or no

elec costs yet till June 1st (or maybe May 15th) something like that...

so anyway, that is 2,300mh of Titans gone ....have 3,000 from the $855 batch (hedging) and another 3,000mh from the 2nd batch at $462 (hedging) so..will

have 11,000mh to make up for at above units ($9,401.00 or some such with coupons gone and psu's needed)

So the boat has to float thru the Summer or I'll be taking a loss after electric...I figure even with my original 5,000mh L3's and L3+'s alone we would need

about $200 LTC by say June at worst....so, hell .hedged...and replaced Titan hash and added went from 7,300mh to 11,000mh

we will see ..that was the hedge/bet...still looking like it is EVEN if the price of LTC goes up and difficulty goes up...but IFFY as heck

you roll the dice and walk away...up to fate (and bitmain toasters *new improved* coming out and at what time and what numbers and what pre-mine?)

crypto...drama drama

does not make a hell of a lot of sense...t'is true

My view is, because of the 'chaos of war' theme....previous to the 'civil war' they had these weapons ....now with a civil war...they use them

knowingly or unknowingly...so best case is they are mixed with their regular ordinance

that is a bit of a stretch though...more than likely, they just decided to 'gas' the citizens to get the real estate for military purposes  etc etc

2671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: April 14, 2018, 04:51:55 AM
I have Ordered 16x L3+($462) with 1x 420 and 15x 350 coupons on 10 April.
But few hours later, support told me that the order will be canceled due to coupons issues.(the coupons can only deduct no more than 50% of the product price).
Then i re-order 12x L3+($462) again with 12x 200 coupons.

$462-$200=262 still sweet.

The coupons pay for the shipping.  So you are still paying around $500 per unit after shipping and import fees (assuming you are here in the US)
yeah, 4 l3 plus at 2000 mhs and 3200 watts makes $19 a day even at
the increased prices from this week. sub .07 cents power nets you $12 a day so $3 a u unit

assuming scrptt hashrates stay constant thats six months roi not terrible

but i have a feeling bitmain will pull the rug out like they always do, id stay away

Why would anyone ever assume that!?!?!?

Yeah, that is a 'tough assumption" indeed...I am figuring 30% for Bitmain driving up the difficulty for these, supposed, 1.5gh at 1,300-watt units in the Summer

again dicey, on even from my projections....but it is all just 'guesses'...but indeed 'guessing' ..but 'assuming hash rate is constant for 6 months is more than a bit silly

(damn, I hope you are correct...but then again, I'd like to be Natalie Portman's Love Puppet...but that ain't gonna happen either)

My guesses are breaking even at BEST right now on the 12 units I got, (and my previous angles/hedges/etc in previous posts)

then again, I really want a crypto unicorn/Bambi/rainbow/etc paradise of at LEAST (as long as I'm wishing) $50k a BTC world...

2672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: April 14, 2018, 04:41:42 AM
I still cannot believe how people will fall for this scamchain launch Huh Huh Huh

Yeah....well...that is why in my case it was a 'hedge' on a price dump to 6k again and using 'dubious alts' that would have also dumped to get the equipment

so you could be correct...right now it is looking like a 'wash'...dubious alts to buy miners...expected payout in LTC (at an anticipated higher price) and thus

even steven....but it is 'knife-edge' right now EVEN on any profit over electricity vs coin output...that can change however..just covered what was paid as an outcome.

and again, this is based on 1) if there really is a 1.5gh Bitmain miner at 1300 watts, that will be opened at the end of Summer for sales pre-order for say Sept/Oct (even thou

Bitmain the 1.5gh in their data halls all summer...driving up the difficulty for LTC)

2) How many of these new units they will put in their data halls ..in that I also heard maybe some 'revolt' with electric companies charging more for data halls and also maybe space

3) How (2) above will affect difficulty...which will affect the 'end of life' on the L3+

The age old question...can I mine like 'heck' before the next wave of difficulty and new equipment hits....so far on my 12 L3+ units.

It looks pretty good for even-steven with electric on ROI but like anything else...guessing and it could go up or down in an instant ...with the old LTC price variable.

teetering, as it were...Chump or Champ...eventually we will know if my 'hedge' had any merit or not...Pump or Dump, Dope or Duke, Prince or Pauper...etc,etc

2673  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: April 14, 2018, 04:32:44 AM
This is true  no one new about asicboost until  Feb  of this year.

I don't have any issues  mining at ck pool
Slush is  a meh for me.

but  the gear does not do  16th or 1480 watts.

every one of the six I have does over  1600 watts on a myrig psu.  that is an issue.

not a single one of the six I have does over 15.8th long term.    that is an issue.

To anyone that purchased looking to solo mine BCH  they would be hurt.
To anyone that purchased looking to solo mine BTC  they would be hurt.

Not sure if I remember or not ..do these have a 2-year warranty? (I thought I heard that)

Also, in your view on these units ordered way back at the prices paid....was it more or less...what you would have paid for equivalent units from Bit man?

So in other words, more or less a wash ...in that these get a better hash with ASIC boost etc vs the above competitor?

So not a huge deal as a comparison right? or Oranges to Oranges? or am I missing something major here that really screwed the 'pooch' for getting these

again, on the sidelines...but looks kinda like a 'wash' vs competitors on when you got these...(2 weeks ago maybe?)

(ego protection on pre-orders...it sometimes just boils down to ego protection)

Was looking at my hash rate (coming) 11,000mh on the pool (seems like a lot, but not a lot maybe)

...perhaps another tweak to the calculator to add GH and TH for giggles as toggle options...there?

(yes, it is that high, now hash rate...we can talk in such terms) sigh....

later

brad

I see you put in the tab for GH ..thanks...just figured it was 'cute'

Hard Rumor: currently is that Bitmain will be releasing for sale a 1.5gh unit @ 1,300 watts. So that means, until this 'supposed' pre-order

at the end of summer to us 'normal folk,' they will drive LTC difficulty up by maybe a much as 20%? (more?) over the Sumer and then IF pre-order sales

at the end of Summer as the rumor states...that would be Oct 2018 in our hands. A current L3+ (3 of them) can play in this 'sandbox' at 2,400 watts

(now) maybe even into fall...IF the price of LTC can keep ahead of LTC difficulty train...

anyway, Pooler...you may have to 'expand' your mining stuff for this particular dump of equipment and difficulty rise...

(unsure how your capacity for the pool works on this kinda thing...for all I know you are golden and it has no effect on you having to upgrade/equip stuff)

Anyway, been hearing this Hard Rumor for awhile now...but no firm proof...just an aside

thanks for the GH tab addition on the www.litecoinpool.org/calc.....them days are a coming...soon it seems! Smiley

2675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: April 13, 2018, 08:25:42 PM
15GH/s are new miners and they are using 1300w. This is 100% information, my friend is working at bitmain. They will be on sale at the end of summer. L5 is the name...

1.5 Ghash is a figure that can be believed.
15 Ghash is NOT.
The 14/16nm node, and even the 10nm node out of Intel and Samsung, are NOT offering that degree of improvement over the 28nm node the L3+ uses.

I suspect you or "you friend" misplaced a decimal point.

1300 watts seems a bit high, but not at all out of line given recent Bitmain miners - I was already anticipating the next gen would soak more power than the L3+.

yeah....reviewing my last 12 ordered L3+'s from the $855 batch (6) and the $462 batch (6) and my electric etc.....LIKELY still I will make ROI with elec included...

but this was 'oranges for oranges' ie dubious alt dump to equipment back to LTC...it all is looking at pretty much a wash at best...

but if this is true it is gonna be close...from what I suspect Bitmain is gonna do this summer (mine them and allow consumer product to hit the world in sept/oct)

But then again, it was a 'hedge' on my part in case price dumped and or went sideways the next couple months

However, unless (this is IMHO) LTC price as an example, If LTC does NOT go to 200 bucks again we are beyond screwed...and $200 buck LTC would be what at historical raito

of LTC to BTC about ..what? I figure BTC would need to be $10k at least for 200 buck LTC...in the next month say...with the expected (difficulty rise if these units exist

at 1.5gh and 1300 watts and of course the 'toasters' of L3+'s being dumped) ....if price don't keep ahead of the difficulty ...this could end badly, regardless of my 12 current

L3+'s purchased as my last hurrah...

Then again, from a 'denial' and 'ego protection' point of view...if it is as 'bad as folk' think it might be...showing 12 new L3+ units at my size or mining and with the alts

I'm cashing out etc, etc....even a 3k loss might be acceptable JUST so I can show my 'chops' to the IRS and state tax folk that YES I am running a Virtual Currency Miner

Business....and see the hoops I've jumped through for such (again IF I can fill that solo401k up with LTC I'd otherwise use to keep the miners going with dubious alt cash

out of 25%) Again, win or lose it was a hedge......sometimes the hedge wins sometimes it don't ..right now it is just looking like this hedge was 'meh!' at worse

(my life in crypto is a constant effort of guessing, confusion, panic, euphoria, sadness and general cluelessness...so the ability to be in denial for 'ego protection' is epic!)

Well, newbie post and all...15gh at 1300 watts seems high...even for Bitmain..if true..it is all over folks because Bitmain will run them all summer before consumer product

and that would well double the LTC network..thus making this unit the only miners running (by them) and the consumer product shipped by fall...if sold end of summer

then again, newbie post ...15gh is a stretch indeed...but a good 'scare' none the less

(I'd be about 3k behind on the hedge, in previous posts, on getting these last 12 miners from the last 2 sales by Bitmain ... from what I figure (with elec paid)...)

Be dang near impossible IMHO to do 15gh at 1300 watts ..now if the poster MEANT 1.5gh at 1300 watts...that I would see as very likely...Indeed...espeically with the

end of Summer sale..which means we'd get them in say first week of Oct 2018...(kinda/sorta) after Bitmain mined the hell out them in their data hall all Summer...

Indeed, even at 1.5gh at 1300 watts, Bitmain alone could well double the difficulty on LTC...anyway, if the case ...my 11,000mh at 17,600 watts would be toast...

with either 15gh or 1.5gh units....end of Summer could be all she wrote...

(crypto always drama)
