Well, I'll toss this out there..(hopefully, I'm wrong) that we will see sideways action between 3.9k and 4.1k BTC until after the mt.gox shoe drops in May 2019.

That seems to me to be the rope holding the balloon to the ground. I guess it will then come to pass on how many dump their BTC vs those that HODL their BTC

of the 1.25 billion or so USD of BTC...sitting about in mt.gox land.....time will tell I guess.

anyway, tossing it out there..hopefully, it will go to 5k BTC next week and you guys can 'mock' me...(knock wood).

Ok. That's less power efficient than a lp firmware a841 or s9.  Undecided

yeah..this is how this stuff rolls these days I guess..I can find no 'angle' of any kind, (even w/o the shipping and tariff/import fees of 27.6% that are on now)

discouraging

As an aside...just 2 min ago got a spam call...with the usual robot voice... 'supposedly' (sarcasm) from Microsoft saying call this number because we are going to turn off windows on your

machine.

Sheesh...are people really this stupid?

I should probably call the number and waste their time...but then I'd be wasting my time...so err....no

just an aside....in that I was in WO when this happened.

1664  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Current List of Competitive Hardware - March 2019 on: March 23, 2019, 02:31:14 AM
In 'reality' in the USA...most of it anyway...will go back to 'Summer Electric Rates) or from what I can tell in most places...that is a 33% increase in electric costs for I think it is 5 months.

Thus sometime around May 15th when this flips.....we probably (or any crypto) needs a 33% price pump or it is gonna get beyond ugly out there.

just pointing this out...you could have "no equipment" on your list that 'makes sense to buy anyway...and this is not talking about the 27.6% fees with tariff and import fees.

sheesh, what a 'rekt' cluster****.

Any word from cryptopia, I honestly haven't been watching the situation.  We had some decent volume there, shame they got hacked.
Cryptopia came back days ago, allows users to check their balance, cancel orders.
That's all we got from hacked Cryptopia so far.
Not sure that eventually they will actually come back to lively trade or not, let's see.

I've got a buddy does not WANT to cancel orders...assuming they happened...so how long till that is resolved...or will they all be wiped

on the reboot? (sell order obviously)

Searing I would think all of the orders would be wiped upon start up again, and so long as they have all of the Fuji still then it would be in your or their wallet and the orders would have to be reset.

You are probably correct.
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 21, 2019, 05:21:03 PM
SC price will never rise until devs fork away from Obelisk dumpsters they introduced with previous fork...  Lips sealed

the fork still happend ---> siaclassic but in my point of view, i wish i had bought an obelisk the 1st day... ppl blame but if you go back in 2013 or early i don't remember that mining was profitable... a rig with 3000watt was expensive for the electricity bill... but i'm happy that have mined some coin Wink

and for ppl that tell it was a bad investment last year, sure btc was a bad investment too like most part of projects... it's like some friend that bought btc at 20k when i told them to buy since 2013...  so buy the fomo and sell the dip...

I managed to dump my sia obelisk sc1's (5) (one card was bad got the replacement a week before I sold the works) as such I mined 1.25 million siacoin ...on a pool wallet with a buddy..I still can't get
the sia wallet to work on windows 10 and the paper wallet is a joke and not supported to the boot...of course with a paper wallet you eventually need a decent desktop wallet...

yeah...my trouble the project is the above...pumping out equipment and not taking the time on the little things nor any time IMHO on actually getting their supposed network up to
a point they promised 1 year ago at this time...

so anyway, I did sell the above..and with the siacoin mined (today's price) it is a bit over the 4.11 btc I  spent on 1st batch...back in the day....barely broke even a bit more with above

siacoin (assuming it holds above a $1.10 value)

But WITHOUT THE FORK I would have been doomed.....the units sat in the boxes as doorstops for 2 months...not worth turning on

now they are into what the 5-6th batch of siacoin equipment and the grin units....and they have basically nothing to show for it but a lot of siacoin and difficulty pumps
w/o the 'cloud storage' or even the wallet and such stuff probably even being looked at

also, the 'compensation promised' in my case about $600 bucks..by end of Jan 2018 seems to not be coming either

I suspect they are following the butterfly labs scam ...where you get the equipment out the door late..but built and out...say you are a bad manager.....to avoid fraud with

the SEC and then promptly go bankrupt at some point the last of your equipment hits the world..this may not be the case...but follows the same path from BFL days so far..

we will see. but yeah..the fork was a fluke but I took the money on the sale to btc and ran with it Smiley

Common break through that 4K again and for good would be Nice Smiley

Snorkling, sunny, green dildo’s, breakfast ..... happy mornings
How much I hate these moments after the 4000 price breakthrough.

Yeah, rinse/wash/repeat is getting really, really old. Some supposed experts say we need to blast thru $4,600 USD for any real stability.

it is boring, well in a good way, I guess I had too much 'excitement' when BTC dumped from 18k to 3.2k

so I want 'responsible' excitment...not 'horror' excitement ...to be clear ...price wise.

(bored, on W0, should do laundry etc....stalling)

On the bright side, if it is down here long enough, you might be able to get a decent amount of the BTC that you sold back, to the extent that matters to you.

But, yeah, I don't really like it either, except for I don't seem to focus on the negative as much as you do.  i continue to be amazed that I have invested into an asset that continues to be up more than 15x from 3.5 years ago, and also seems to have really good upside potential prospects, in spite of continuing to be up more than 15x from its 2015 levels that were largely in the $250 price arena.

Not so much a focus on the downside then on the WTF is going on side... I pretty much am still buying back at below my panic sell price of 13 btc (which I can't gripe

about because that is what I'm living on this year w/o taking soc sec or Medicaid yet)

so sold some equip (fluke) for a good price (fluke) and selling stuff on eBay I'd die with otherwise (attic mining) also made $$$ last year mining yet and can convert

what I dumped into a solo 401k into 4 btc on that...

so (if I do the solo 401k) will have gotten back about 7 of the 13 btc and would only be down 5 btc (which again paid the solo401k taxes of 17k and what I'm living on this year)

so from my panic sale of 13 btc at $6,965 (which I see we may be $5 more now) I can hardly complain...again ...due to living off the proceeds of my panic this year
paid all my expenses above and medical for they year to boot

I guess I had the ILLUSION from 2013 to 2017 2018 or so that I knew wtf was going on...angles on mining/saving/etc

the btc got back above helps...but innocence lost don't ya know after the dump from 18k to 3.2k and now back to $3,969 btc as I type this

seems BTC is having a hard time getting over my initial panic sell (include screaming) of 13 btc last year at $3,965 USD huh?

so it is not so much pessimistic as my certainty of choices has taken a bit of a hit..don't ya know...but scrambling along anyway Smiley

heh... I suppose I could dump my BCH and BSV and get all my 13 blown BTC back..recover that last 5 btc...recoup the full 13 btc blown

..hmmmmm......maybe I am getting my 'mojo' back Smiley

we have the power to make the world what we want it to be and we should use that power.

Tell us why you are better off because the dodo and the passenger pigeon are extinct. Actually on second thought, don’t.

It is impracticable as well as impossible to keep every species that ever existed or will exist alive, that is just a fact. That was not even remotely my point, I shouldn't have to tell you my point if you reread my post and comprehend it.

The whole argument is a fallacy, it doesn't matter if its man made or not. we have the power to make the world what we want it to be and we should use that power. It's natural for species to become extinct, should we not do anything and become extinct because its natural? Terraforming the world is a natural advance of any civilization if it wants to survive, it is no different than protecting that world from space born objects.

As an argument this picture makes a good case...1 species vs billions of species..some days I buy this argument more than others Sad

if you look the monthly chart, since 2015 RSI has never been so low... BUT if you look at the trend line you can see a clearly support line that act since 2015. 55-69 sat seem to be a good buy zone and i'm accumulating. maybe i'm wrong but at this price even without volume i'm in... i bought 2 times at 50 sat iin the past and it always payed. better buy now, i don't think this project is die and for me the UI wallet if fast and work fine (linux )
i wish i have an obelisk.... obelisk miners are not happy ?  Huh

I sold my 5 obelisk miners and have 1.25 million siacoin mined with them before I sold them....Almost got 'exactly' the 4.11 btc i paid for the whole lot of them

..a 'tad' more than I paid for them in the summer of 2018...all due to 'dumb luck' of the fork.

So all my success is luck and was the fork...sheesh.....they sat around...arrived late, way late than what they said....and before the fork sat in boxes in my house 2

months...literal door stops

the whole operation of sia-tech and obelisk is based on who the heck knows...they are pumping out equipment to mine coin and have no real

viable storage solution yet...the whole thing is beginning to remind me of paycoin and gaw miners...the old rinse/wash/repeat till the whole thing crumbles

so, sure, I got lucky...but it is a damn poor way to run this operation IMHO...and I see no real clarity or improvement in the future ...again

the deafening silence on the supposed Jan 31st payout to miners for lost time and/or any speed of progress. The stuff they claim to be working on now

they said would have been in play 1 year ago ...so color me not impressed.

dumb luck ..yeah...I had that good fortune...but....you don't want an obelisk miner at this point in time my friend...your hodl of siacoin makes more

sense than getting a sia miner, IMHO....I'd probably have dumped  the above sia coin already...if I ever could get a desktop wallet to work with this coin (currently

on a buddies wallet that 'does' work....(took him 4 tries as well, I think....I so far have given up after 4 tries to install) ..I probably will just dump to BTC...not seeing a lot

of reason to HODL this coin...same dance as other pump and dump coin startups since 2013....just saying....my view

Fourth consecutive week closed in the green... and I still have no fucking idea what the price is gonna do next. Bleh. If at least I had the balls to aggressively scalp around this range....

Welcome to my world...befuddled...hodl'ing but befuddled on 2019, especially with the mt. gox dump in May 2019..I think it is?

1675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: March 10, 2019, 07:10:47 PM
Is this project still alive?

Not sure. I gave up trying to install their wallet after 4 tries. NO matter what I did, I could not get the long seed to take as a password, either by typing it in

or by cut and paste finally gave up.

Also, their paper wallet looks sketchy as hell and not supported by sia-tech. So what kinda of coin has no decent wallet and not even a decent paper wallet?

Also, folks with late obelisk sc1 units from last year were supposed to be compensated at the end of Jan 2019 ...since then, whenever the topic is brought up

you get 'deafening silence'. I suspect they wanted to pay back those customers with their 'oil based' sia miner units sales (their last batch so far)...so my assumption that that went no place

seems to coincide with no funds to past customers compensation...so generally, the whole siacoin concept and sia-tech pumping out ...what is with the 'oil based' miners

7 batches of sia miners...well, does not see to me to be a very well run operation at all.

1676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 09, 2019, 08:03:39 PM
Remember litecointalk.org ......  Cheesy That hack was disastrous, way before LTC had any intrisnic value, those "guys" will still be playing the field.

my bad...I was the one who kinda/sorta broke it ....ordered 2 KNC titan cubes for like the equivalent  of 0.1 btc then converted to ltc I think it was...from one of the 4 admins of the site

I forget the name......of the 'hacked' admin..account...another guy also started a thread not getting something...the hacker was found out and 'flushed' the site

in that he had super admin powers as one of the 4 admins.

www.litecointalk.io was revived and has a link to the archived OLD site www.litecointalk.org is somewhere available on the new site for looking over

...if you need old, old, messages or some such... maybe you can't see pm's anymore not sure...but for historical purposes, it is still accessible thru the new site.

I'm not really sure if it was just me and a couple of other guys that actually got ripped off for LTC or it was more folk...in actual coin...or if it just was a mostly 'kill the site hack'

but anyway, once I posted...the other admins contacted me, trusted my word, looked into it and then the hacker, being found out and flushed the site first,

thus the now rebuild site you can look at someplace via a link on the (somewhat unused) www.litecointalk.io. The original www.litecointalk.org site seems

to go to the new www.litecointalk.io site now in some manner ..so that link is NOT the old site, just a jump to the new site. You have to go into the new site

to find the old archived, now down, hacked site info. Someplace on the site.

Maybe, with the price pump of LTC that site will get some more traction now. But anyway, for anyone interested.

Hello Group !

What are the best Asic LTC miner 2019?

Thanks for your help

From what I understand IF you have real low (less than probably 8c kWh electric data hall rates) ...unsure how much lower...my friend with a data hall is making 40c a day on

L3+'s..that go for (or so I've seen) $80 without PSU now IF you pick them up (not counting shipping)

so that is like $12.00 a month after electric costs he says  or a 6.67 month ROI at FLAT difficulty (which does not exist)

So unless you already have one and need an electric space heater, or have free electric in a dorm or something,  you are SHOL.

Sorry to say. (I have some shut off) Sad

So at this point in time you are better off just buying LTC and go into HODL mode, and hope for a pump. Because it is the same plan with equipment you need

price pump in order to mine LTC these days...and all things being the same, safer bet is to just HODL your LTC and get more and just eliminate the whole miner

risk at this point in time.

IMHO anyway

1678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 08, 2019, 06:35:02 AM
I'm currently thinking three scenarios that would get us out of my own personal consideration of this current bear market and into a conceptual bull market.

1) BTC price rises above $6k and stays there for at least two months

2) BTC price rises above $4.5k and stays there for at least six months

3) BTC price does not break below $3,320 for at least one year

Anyone going to label my tentative "getting out of a bear market and into a bull market" conditions ridiculous?

The fact of making predictions like that is 'scary' to me.....with last years track record....well....just reading any of the above spooks me these days Sad

(i used to be such a BTC crypto hero..er..now..meh...need to get my head on straight and just buy now I guess)

Anybody have the feeling bitcoin is like a coiled spring at the moment? I feel like we’re just waiting for a something to ignite a significant upwards movement to comfortably into the $4,000’s.

It’s eerily quiet at the moment - A little too quiet.
It is early to talk about spring weather considering the market conditions. Better to wait for strict movement in the market.

Beware May 2019...I think that is the month mt. gox is expected to dump BTC. Likely the 'asshole' managing stuff will do so on exchanges again IMHO.

just saying, we need to keep the volume up to eat that 'feast' when it hits the world.

lol apparently list is dead...oh wait, aside from the ONE pump it had, it always was and has been dead shit LOL

If you got LISK at the 25c per lisk ICO it is worth holding (kinda) also if you are one of 101 elites forging lisk you can make income/profit...

as to the rest of us...(hell even the ICO folk who got Lisk) the price almost, IMHO, has to pump at least to $5 a LISK to get back on its

feet and compete with other coins...

less than 50/50 shot IMHO of that happening even with a pump in the next year...would like to be wrong..but can't see it

brad

There are many bitter holders of Lisk, but many other projects are rushing poor code out the door and suffering because of embarrassing bugs. Lisk is trying to develop high quality bug free code. For instance they rolled out a new automation testing process so they can test their code changes quickly: https://blog.lisk.io/how-introducing-automation-testing-for-our-blockchain-significantly-improved-development-speed-and-10c0a6934e37

I am wondering why there is so much hate against Lisk Shocked The development is progressing nicely, the team is posting regular updates etc. I think it is more that it can (unfortunately) be said for many other coins out there Undecided

by progress? lol? I've been with lisk since the ICO...same song on progress....rinse/wash/repeat
