281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best safe cloud mining site on: February 02, 2024, 07:55:32 PM
Hello friends
What is best safe cloud mining site?

I really doubt any cloud mining platforms can be successful nowadays.  Its probably all a big scam or Ponzi scheme.  You cannot take shortcuts if you want to seriously mine bitcoin and  you need real equipment.  Folks buying up ASIC miners are not fools.  If cloud mining was legit, why would anyone bother buying their own hardware?

Im just skeptical of any promises of easy money or free lunches when it comes to crypto.  Maybe Im too cynical, but it often seems like people's greed blinds them to obvious red flags.  They get drawn in by fantasies of effortless wealth.

Some cloud platforms may prove me wrong someday.  For now though, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

is there anyone can assist me about that? I would really appreciate that.

It seems you are having trouble loading the CSS files. Have you tried running a new incognito window in Chrome? Additionally, a hard refresh might help; just press Ctrl+F5 a few times.
283  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Crypto scams and company registration on: February 01, 2024, 10:48:35 PM
Yeah. Company registration alone cannot protect against crypto scams.  Scammers are crafty - they fake companies using stolen IDs and virtual addresses to seem legit.  So while checking if a company's registered matters, it doesnt equal full regulation or guarantee safety.  You gotta watch for other red flags too.
284  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safe means please and evil IP on: February 01, 2024, 09:24:21 PM
You talked about someone who might have broken rules in the past registering with my IP. Just how is that possible? I thought IPs are supposed to be unique. Wouldn’t that create some crime map for innocent people even in the real world problems?

Yes, IP addresses are unique to each Internet-connected device.  But even though every gadget needs its own exclusive IP address to get online, there arent actually enough IP numbers to go around forever.  The companies that give you your Wi-Fi assign you an IP from their pool of addresses.  But that pool is not bottomless - there are way more people that need IPs than there are available IPs! So what a lot of these Internet providers do is reuse and recycle IP addresses and  the IP you get today was likely used by someone else yesterday, and next day it will get reassigned again to another new user once you log off.

So the IPs are kinda like library book numbers - they get checked out and returned a lot!
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 01, 2024, 08:43:04 PM
In your entire gambling journey, have you ever had a series of losses to the extent you hated yourself so much for being so unlucky?

I have had some doh! moments thanks to questionable bets, thats for sure.  I never went full-on self-loathing though.  Kicking yourself when luck goes south just makes a bad situation feel worse.  Its like stumbling down the stairs then getting mad at the stairs and  sure, I had regrets over money wasted, but beating myself up over stuff I cannot control? That road only leads to more ramen my friend.  All you can do is shrug, maybe laugh at your own stubbornness, and try to make better bets next time.  Win or lose though, got to remind yourself: its just money.  Your worth is not tied to dollars lost gambling.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why a large Bitcoin transaction does consume more space on the Blockchain on: February 01, 2024, 08:01:39 PM
I mistakenly hit the post button while I wasn't done writing. If you read it again you will see the difference although I was wrong in the above statement but I knew what I wanted to say.

If you pressed the post button by mistake, why don't you edit your post and correct the mistakes? Your post still contains wrong information that can be confusing for a newbie.

For example, this part is still wrong:

For example if you're to spend 1BTC in a TX and a 0.10 BTC you don't expect the smaller transaction to contain a bigger space. The higher the input the higher the space it takes in the Blockchain and also the higher the tx fee.
~

As others have already pointed out, the transaction size does not depend on the BTC amount, so I suggest you leave that part out.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: February 01, 2024, 07:47:17 PM
but starting from this month of January I have gotten a new job that pays me 5 figures a month
~

Five figures a month you say? In what currency if I may ask?

That's the main question, haha.
If he says he earns 5 figures a month but will "only" invest like 100$ this doesn't add up.

So I doubt it will be $ or euro. Since he is posting in the Nigeria section (I just checked) I guess we have our answer. The problem though, 10000 naira is only 11$ .  Grin That means even a 6 figures payday wouldn't be much money.

Anyway, it's always nice to hear stories from new bitcoin holders and supporters. Hopefully the support will only rise from here so that btc never dies.

Yeah. Thats exactly why I asked. I saw the same thing about Nigeria in his profile.  That makes me think maybe he was talking about Nigerian Naira instead of US dollars and  because 5 digits worth of Naira isnt actually a huge amount of money.  It is definitely not enough to invest $100 in Bitcoin like he said.  So Im guessing maybe he just accidentally said 5 digits when he meant to say 6.  Cheesy

288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: January 31, 2024, 10:09:01 PM
Here we go again, treading into spiritual territory when talking about gambling odds and outcomes.  I have clearly given up relying on science or math at this point, clinging instead to some notion that my desperate thoughts and prayers will mysteriously deliver a big jackpot. But seriously? Who still believes in that kind of crap?

Look, I understand the appeal of believing some higher power or cosmic force might intercede on your behalf.  When you are down to your last few chips, reason gets tossed out the window pretty fast.  But deep down you know those fanciful dreams are just that - dreams.  The cold, hard truth is that each spin of the wheel or roll of the dice is an independent event, completely unaffected by your feelings, superstitions or prayers.

290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you ready for the Bitcoin bull market? What's your plan? Some ideas for you on: January 28, 2024, 09:06:00 PM
I dont have any particular plans or tactics in mind.  Im mostly just trying to get my hands on as much Bitcoin as possible while prices stay low.  Timing the markets perfectly or scoring a quick buck? Not my priority - I know crypto is a long game.  The keys Ive learned are patience and self-control.  So Ill stick to steadily buying and holding for now.  We will see where this takes me!

I figure predictions are mostly guesses anyway and  and this space moves too fast to keep up.  I would rather focus on what I can control.  If I keep investing what I can afford to lose, I think Ill do alright in the end.  Who really knows though?
291  Economy / Reputation / Re: Farewell on: January 28, 2024, 08:36:42 PM
Vod is the first and only person in this ENTIRE THREAD to address how o_e_l_e_o acted, everyone else just broke down emotionally because apparently just discovered everyone is a mortal.

You are a fucking idiot, simple as that. Fortunately, the community sees through your flawed judgment.

People have the right to have a different opinions.  And thats okay - we all have our own views.  Thats why there are platforms for discussion, such as this one.  But thats no reason to be a dick and wish death or harm on someone.  Thats the whole point here and you are the only one who doesnt see it!  There is no point in arguing with you about anything after this.

I really don't know what move to make or what the problem is exactly.

And? Did you manage to find your transaction hash on the mempool and resolve the issue? I see that you were active on the forum very recently, but you did not update this thread about your problem.  I just wanted to check if you were able to figure out the issue by now.
293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie traders, work on yourself. on: January 28, 2024, 05:59:07 PM
I totally agree.  When you are just starting out trading, it can be totally overwhelming trying to wrap your head around everything that is going on in the markets.  Theres so much complexity and moving parts, you just want someone to give you a simple buy this or sell that signal to follow, right?

But, relying on other peoples trading signals is gonna seriously mess you up in the long run.  It would be like letting some random person take the wheel of your car without knowing if they can actually drive or not.  Risky business!

Cause heres the thing - when you depend on external signals you are basically handing over the keys to your decision-making abilities.  And how are you ever gonna learn to navigate the trading world if you let others call the shots? Those signals dont care about your risk tolerance or goals or anything - they just tell you to buy and sell based on some computer algorithm or whatever.
Its 100 times better to put in the work early on to educate yourself and develop your own trading style.  It will pay off big time in the future when you can confidently trust your own judgement.  Even if you make some rookie mistakes at first, at least they will be your mistakes.
294  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Know why the exchange wallet are not safe on: January 27, 2024, 09:45:59 PM
2. Do  not keep bitcoin in an exchange wallet: This is also important to be aware of. A lot of people only think that after protecting their seed phrases, their coins are secured.

Yes, you are absolutely right. But many people who use exchanges to store their cryptocurrencies dont even know what the seed phrase is for, let alone how to properly protect it.
295  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where i can sell fast 1.0036 bitcoins? on: January 27, 2024, 09:15:02 PM
You say you want EUR, so my guess is that you're in the EU. [...]
You're right he says he wants to exchange his BTC against 18k€, so it shows he lives in the European Union or at least he has a bank account denominated in Euros. Then I don't understand why he doesn't just use a classic fiat exchange? Most exchanges like Kraken, Binance, Blockchain.com Exchange, Kucoin, (Bitstamp for deposits only AFAIK),... offer withdrawals via Instant SEPA. It means you can receive your funds in Euro in just few minutes, every days and every nights including weekends and public holidays. So his request is a bit weird and rather suspicious I would say.

Yeah, that part made me kinda suspicious too.  He is saying a normal bank transfer takes at minimum 4 days, but if this is all happening between Eurozone banks, then there's SEPA which can be super quick.  I've done transfers between my accounts before using SEPA and usually the money shows up in just a couple minutes.  So his story about needing almost a week doesnt really line up if he actually had the option to use SEPA.

Its just one detail that got me scratching my head a bit, the rest of what he said could still be legit though.
296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: January 27, 2024, 08:46:31 PM
Its just plain irresponsible for a dad to leave his 2-year-old twins home alone for hours to go gamble.  His gambling problem obviously mattered more than keeping his kids safe.  Thank goodness a worried neighbor stepped in and contacted the police.  If not, those poor children could have been in real danger.

I hope that this man gets the help that he needs to address his gambling addiction and that he never puts his children at risk again.
297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hidden Portals on: January 27, 2024, 08:09:55 PM
The domain is the name of a somewhat known exchange/wallet plus some random characters and .com.

This alone is reason enough not to trust that site. There is no legitimate business that would do that.

I think it's reason enough not to disclose it. I'll continue to provide updates as things go on. If everything finish without major issues, I'll share the domain, but I want to ensure my mate is out of danger first.

I dont fully buy the reasons for keeping the site private.  It does nothing for your buddy but hides a potential threat from others.  Places that out scams exist so people can share what they know and help each other avoid shady situations and  seems better to put it out there.
298  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: January 26, 2024, 09:51:06 PM
Thats absolutely true!  Aging without financial stability is less than ideal, to say the least.  Even regular folks with decent incomes gotta think realistically about their expenses.  You might not get to live large but some wise money decisions now can still set you up okay down the road.
299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the definition of a Gambler? Do you consider yourself as a Gambler? on: January 26, 2024, 09:28:16 PM
~
What do you think about yourself and how do you want to define the word Gambler?

Yeah, I dont really see why we need some fancy new word for something we already got a name for.  Gambler works just fine for talking about someone who is willing to take a risk for the chance to win something back.  Its a fair word, not making any judgments on whether gambling is good or bad.

If your local word for "gambling" has negative connotations, it is probably due to cultural differences.
300  Economy / Reputation / Re: To Leo and all who support Privacy & the original purpose of Bitcoin. Thank you on: January 25, 2024, 10:56:13 PM
I hate the feeling of waking up to reality and realizing we here are not forever.

I precisely believe that this is what makes life unique and worth living, no matter how much fear and sorrow it may make us feel that at some point it will end.

Exactly! Life would have no meaning if it were forever.

It is knowing we only have so much time here that pushes us to follow our dreams, make memories with people we care about, and try to leave things a little better than we found them.  I mean if we were all immortal, I feel like a lot of us would just waste time and take life for granted instead of appreciating how precious it is and  we probably wouldnt worry as much about making the most of every day or leaving some kind of positive legacy behind.  The ticking clock of our mortality sort of adds beauty and importance to this crazy human adventure we are all on together.

As for Leo, I hope he had a good life. No regrets!
