281  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEBITCO.IN SCAM, DEPOSIT NOT CREDITED on: March 31, 2024, 01:01:10 PM
In the past they’ve said FreeBitco.in is a 2 person operation with some assistance in marketing and coding.
~snip~
We get some help from a PR consultancy for the marketing, social media etc. and a friend of wetsuit's who helps out with the HTML coding and page design. Other than that it's just the 2 of us.

It sounds a bit incredible that everything is organized by only 2 people with a little help from the side, and that they did not decide to invest in quality customer support. It is obvious that money is not a problem, so I wonder why they allow themselves to have things like this happen to them, which bring them nothing but bad promotion.
282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you still holding on: March 30, 2024, 03:15:58 PM
Are you still holding??
It's  no news that halving is few weeks ahead.
Don't  be motivated wrongly towards selling your holdings as you will eventually  witness how your  loss could have turned into profit or how you could have made more profit if you've hold but it might be too late then ...

Everyone probably has some exit point, but I stopped thinking that way a long time ago because I think it's much better to have Bitcoin than fiat. Of course, from time to time I will sell a small part of what I have in order to buy/pay for something, and I also regularly pay for various services using BTC as a currency because that's why it exists.

I honestly do not envy those for whom Bitcoin is just an ordinary investment, in the end they will never escape from at least trying to be somewhat financially independent.

283  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think if Bitcointalk accepted videos? on: March 30, 2024, 02:27:46 PM
I think that such a feature should somehow be limited to at least the Member+ rank, because there should be no doubt that otherwise there will be those who will abuse such a feature.
How about limiting it to only certain boards? Or even just one, so the rest of the forum stays nice and quiet.

If the forum would enable this feature and then limit it to only one board, I think that something similar would happen to us as with the Press board, which only two users turned into their private board for spamming links. Therefore, I think it would be better if such a feature were available in most boards (some may be exempt), with the rule that low ranks cannot use this feature.

That does not look presentable! That kind of predicament will not give an assurance to anyone unless a rank holder like you presents it. I have not been able to do such a thing with my posts or topics as I am only a small rank holder. If there is a way to show the video within the forum by only those who are ranked Sr Member and above then it will be good. There are a lot of users who have been awakened in my signature campaign and these guys were not a part of the forum when the merit system was implemented. If you give access to full member and above then we might see a lot spam content in the forum.

I honestly don't understand what you meant with what you wrote. Are you actually saying that you can't do what I did (the way I presented the video)? You have a Senior rank and can easily post pictures on the forum, but what you lack is a way to do it. This option does not exist in the post options and you have to create it yourself, but this is how the code looks, so you can try it.

284  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [No KYC] Prepaid Cards and Virtual Phone Numbers are available on Stealths on: March 30, 2024, 11:28:06 AM
Hello.
We are also aware of that it's a little bit confusing. We are currently working on USD international cards to overcome currency confusion, but meanwhile a UX change could be helpful.
Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions!

You're welcome Smiley

I remembered that one member of the forum (if I'm not mistaken @stompix) in one of the topics discussing crypto cards was also a bit confused about fees - but I'm sure you'll find a solution for that too. Keep up the good work Wink
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman Fried (scam banker fraud) 25 years on: March 30, 2024, 11:17:48 AM
Spoken like someone who hasn't been to jail. Jail isn't just a rapefest... He likely won't be touched unless he wants it. This whole culture of just forcing gay sex in jail is extremely rare and basically never happens. So sorry to burst your bubble, but his going to be 100% fine and out in half the time with a intact butthole.

You are pretty sure that US prisons are the exact opposite of what we have been shown for decades in many movies/series when it comes to the US. But I would not agree with that, not because I was in prison, but because people who are in prison are mostly very violent and they show that violence also through sexual abuse.

These guys in the picture don't look friendly at all, unless you think they ended up in jail for stealing beer and cigarettes from gas stations?
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman Fried (scam banker fraud) 25 years on: March 29, 2024, 04:52:09 PM
BD seems to be a couple of hours behind WO, and there they not only announced the news first, but also expressed it in poetic form. I honestly doubted that that scumbag would get a long-term sentence, although 25 years seems like a long time to some, keep in mind that little Bankman will probably be out for a maximum of 15-16 years if not sooner.

Goodbye, Sam Bankman-Fried
Though I never knew you at all
You were a curly haired scamming cunt
While those around you had a ball

They crawled out of the woodwork
And like you, they all belong in jail
You only got 25 years behind bars
But I'm so glad that we got to see you fail

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a fart in the wind
Always smelling so bad
When the rain set in

And I'm glad I never knew you
You were just a cunt
You ended up behind bars
After your stupid stunts

287  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [No KYC] Prepaid Cards and Virtual Phone Numbers are available on Stealths on: March 29, 2024, 04:32:17 PM
Service Update: VISA International Prepaid limits have been increased!
👉🏻  We changed fixed amounts to variable, you can purchase any amount, even as low as 1 euro!
👉🏻  Maximum card limit has been increased to €1,500. There is no daily limit, you can purchase multiple cards.

It's great that you raised the max limit of the card and that there are no more restrictions in terms of pre-determined amounts. If possible, I would suggest one change on the page regarding "Net amount you want to receive" which is expressed in EUR and "Total amount to pay" which is expressed in $ - because for some it can be a bit confusing when it comes to fees.

When, for example, someone wants to get EUR 1500 on the card, they have to pay $1683, so for someone who doesn't see the difference in currency, it can seem like a really big fee. The fee is actually (depending on the exchange rate) around 55-60 EUR.
288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Report: ExxonMobil Running Pilot Project to Supply Flared Gas for Bitcoin Mining on: March 29, 2024, 11:51:23 AM
If the only question is whether they made some kind of profit using what would otherwise have gone to waste, then the answer is probably positive. Apart from them, in the context of flared gas-mining Bitcoin, Saudi Aramco was also mentioned even before (2021).

If we read this post from @fillippone, it seems that ExxonMobil has expanded such a mining method outside the US. I don't know how successful it was and whether it's still there, but I have no doubt that those who advocate the idea that Bitcoin pollutes the environment will also find something negative in that.

Still, he managed to survive on that particular account for a couple of years after buying it, now he can concentrate on the other accounts in his farm.

Considering how easily he gave up that account, I have no doubt that it is very likely that it is just one in a series of alt accounts that he uses. Until the merit system was introduced, it only took time to move from rank to rank, and we are talking about 9 years of creating alt farms that are still active today.

In addition, it was only around 2015 (if I'm not mistaken) that trading with BTT accounts became undesirable, and before that it was a completely normal activity.
290  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think if Bitcointalk accepted videos? on: March 29, 2024, 10:58:56 AM
I have nothing against that idea, because they say a picture is worth a thousand words, and adding a video to the forum in a quick and easy way might be a step in a positive direction. However, I think that such a feature should somehow be limited to at least the Member+ rank, because there should be no doubt that otherwise there will be those who will abuse such a feature.

On other forum there is an option to add videos directly to the post, so it might be good to check how it's done there.

I sometimes post a video in the following form, but it takes some time, and some users don't even realize that the link to the video is hidden behind the picture.

291  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Pending justice for SBF on: March 28, 2024, 04:18:37 PM
He got 25 years, for some it might be a lot, but I believe for the majority it's still too little considering that he will probably get out after serving 2/3 of his sentence, and maybe even before with good behavior and some other benefits of the US prison/justice system.

292  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 28, 2024, 04:03:12 PM
Well, as everyone here knows, I'm still a newbie (BTC since 2021)

Anyway, this still unexplored price region (ATH) also depends a lot on human behavior, I don't know about you, but currently when I see the price of bitcoin below 65...66k USD my conscience says that it's a cheap price to buy, that's strange, because a few weeks ago we could say that the price at 66 was already very high....

I believe this should happen to most people who follow the price of BTC... does that make sense? Or does this just ONLY happen to me?

I remember the time when we used to say "everything under $1000 is cheap", then that saying changed only a little when the price reached $10 000 - and today we can say "everything under $100k is cheap". If by any chance you ever bought BTC at a price of a few hundred $, what would you think today about how expensive it actually is to buy BTC?
293  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: https://klaspi.com/ on: March 28, 2024, 03:34:12 PM
Hey newbies, go play your game somewhere else because you're not going to fool anyone with your strategy of asking questions that end up getting positive answers. Advertisements promising thousands of dollars are only true for those naive who think money is falling from the sky.
SCAM!!!
294  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI usage, 3rd time in a few months on: March 28, 2024, 03:24:24 PM
@JollyGood, I added 1 merit to that post, and I admit that I didn't check the post history before that because I didn't think there was any need for it. Unfortunately, trust is not visible in the Bitcoin discussion, otherwise it seems to me that the number of merits would be significantly lower for a specific post.

Is there any hard evidence that the whole story surrounding his participation in the race was fabricated? Someone who knows exactly when the race was held and who would check if he was writing on the forum at that time would have proof that he was not there.
295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: satoshi? hacker? who? on: March 28, 2024, 03:02:00 PM
Mined them at $0.20.  Spent them at $70k.  Try to wrap around your head on how good investment bitcoin has been.

Only those who mined back then know how it feels to turn $0.20 into $70k (and potentially much more). I have to settle for knowing what it's like to buy BTC for only $200, and sell them nevertheless for a very nice profit. Cheesy

I will not speculate who the owner is, but I can say with certainty that the coins do not belong to CW Faketoshi, although it may be one of the addresses that he claimed belonged to him.
I checked the three in the post.  He had not claimed them as his.

Thanks for checking, I know a while back someone signed and published a large number of BTC addresses from 2010 that Faketoshi claimed belonged to him. However, I was curious and searched the first address, and one of the search results leads to a website where Satoshi public keys are allegedly published - anyone can find the link with a simple search.

But with a closed-source unit like a Ledger, you can't check anything related to its firmware, and yet it's there among the recommendations.

However, if you look under "Transparency" you will notice that only Ledger is marked "Acceptable", and all other HW are marked "Good". Maybe it would be better if there was a "Caution" label, but obviously we don't all have the same attitude when it comes to things like leaking the complete database of their clients or the option of sharing seeds with third parties.

What is missing in my opinion is the "Security" tab, because potential buyers should be aware that, for example, Trezor HW has an irreparable vulnerability that allows someone with physical access to the HW to extract the seed in a relatively easy way if it is not protected with a passphrase or the user uses an SD card for backup.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe someone knows who the address belongs to? on: March 28, 2024, 11:23:30 AM
@zazarb, if I may be curious and ask how it happened that you sent BTC to the wrong address - was it because you typed the address manually or was it due to clipboard malware that changed the address? The latter does not seem like a realistic option to me, because hackers usually do not use deposit addresses on CEXs, but of course there are those who are not very intelligent.

No it's my fault, to check if I copied the address to which I want to send correctly, I put it in google and opened in the mempoolspace website, I did not notice that a completely different address was opened and later copied it from the website again and sent btc to it.

A moment of carelessness is all it takes for things to go wrong, so it is recommended to check BTC addresses several times before clicking on "send". I always do this because regardless of all precautionary measures, I keep in mind that some clipboard malware can sneak into the system and change the address.

However, it is good that this is not the case with you and that you will most likely get your BTC back, it will just take some time. Anyway, good luck and let us know when you get your coins back.
298  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI usage, 3rd time in a few months on: March 28, 2024, 11:13:56 AM
But without some automation, i wonder how many people actually patient enough to do that. And if someone have skill to perform automation (where they also need to consider CloudFlare), they probably can land IT job which offer better stability.

In some cases, it is certainly about individuals who try to cheat the system, but I believe that there are also groups with many more members who operate alt accounts on this forum in a much more sophisticated and thoughtful way in order to position themselves in the long term.

Also, the possibility that some people do it against their will should not be completely dismissed, because as we can often read, in some parts of the world, people are dragged into forced labor in various ways, especially when it comes to "jobs" related to cryptocurrencies.
299  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Recommended wallets on bitcoin.org on: March 27, 2024, 12:07:03 PM
Even if there are only 8 recommendations for HW, I think that is quite enough for someone to choose the device that suits them best. Someone will need HW that supports multiple cryptocurrencies, someone else will look for one that supports only Bitcoin, and then it's quite easy to decide (at least for me personally).

I don't want to say at all whether the recommendations on that site are good or bad, but anyone who wants to buy good (reliable&secure HW) should look for the experiences of other users, and I know that every good HW has its own topic on this forum.
