2881  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Exchange With Unlimited SWIFT Withdrawal on: October 19, 2022, 07:09:31 AM
Is there a reliable Bitcoin exchange with unlimited withdrawals via SWIFT bank transfer?
I am not sure that you will find a reliable exchange that doesn't have any limits at all, but I do know that daily withdrawal limit on Binance for those that went through standard  KYC is $2 million. It can be increased further but for that you have to go through AML.

How reliable is Bitstamp?
Bistamp is pretty reliable exchange. Never tried it myself, but few of my friends are using it for years and I never heard them complaining about it.
2882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Multiple transaction on Metamask on: October 18, 2022, 07:46:00 PM
Is there any difference is performance between metamask mobile and metamask PC wallet? Security wise.
I assume that any wallet used on mobile phone is less secure than the one on PC simply because people take less care of what they download, on what kind of networks they connect etc. Either way, Metamask should be only used as a hot wallet and not for any longer term hodl.

However, there are some dapps which let you send tokens to different addresses. They are used mainly in airdrops but I can't vouch for any of them
Yep, something like Disperse could be used with Metamask to send multiple transactions at the same time but its limited to only a couple of chains.

Metamask is open-source (not sure if this still true) and no critical vulnerability has been found and there are no reports of security incidents so it's as good as it gets.
Afaik Metamask is not open-source anymore ( I think that changed back in 2020).

This guy is titled "My Precious..."
Damn that looks crazy good and it looks like we have a pro around here. Grin Anyway, kudos for the effort!

Few years ago I tried something relatively similar with bitcoin sign, but doing it from the inside of the pumpkin and it was a major pain in the ass to do it properly without making a hole in the pumpkin so in the end I gave up.
2885  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards on: October 18, 2022, 09:34:11 AM
I mean, there is a way, which is for the votes to be anonymous. But how would we do that here on the forum?
I don't think that it can be both anonymous and abuse free unless theymos somehow gets involved in it (which I doubt he would want)  and as others said it would be less fun that way.

I personally won't vote for those who merit their voters no matter how deserving of the award they are and if I vote before they start doing it I will simply change my vote.

Prije bih se nadao da ce - po obicaju - biti sve vise i vise komplicirano...
Vrlo lako moguce, znajuci kakvi genijalci upravljaju ovom drzavom.

2887  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: October 18, 2022, 08:48:09 AM
I don't think I have ever been this high on the leaderboard when it comes to the number of posts as last month. Silver medal for me. But the number of posts I wrote isn't that different compared to previous months. But the trend is clear. We are generally writing less, all of us. Damn it slackovic, wake up. Grin
Yep, numbers went down dramatically as just a year ago with that amount of posts you would end up somewhere around 10th spot and now you were 2nd. I too blame slackovic for that, even though I reached my all time low last month (well at least when it comes to posts in local board).

Month of vacation, there was no more. Even so, I'm surprised to be able to keep first in this ranking.
So this was the perfect opportunity for someone to take the first spot. Imagine how others are slacking when you are first despite being on vacation and doing less posts than usual.  Cheesy

2888  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: October 18, 2022, 07:42:20 AM
Rejoice, time for yet another brief monthly overview!  Cheesy

All charts and table are made with the help of @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space. Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Nigerian, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards yet.

Post activity per local board during September 2022

During above mentioned period 13857 posts were written across local boards which is a decrease compared to August and 14838 posts. Yet again this decrease doesn't seem big, but it adds up over time so there's a big difference in activity compared to let's say a year ago.

When it comes to the most active local board, nothing changed much compared to the last overview: Russian board is still far ahead the others, followed by Turkish and German board and pretty much the same thing is at the bottom. Communities without local board performed good yet again (Nigerian and Pakistan while  Bangladesh activity is kinda decreasing) and given the general decrease of forum activity I think that forum staff should seriously consider adding at least one more local board, if not two.

Number of active members per local board during September 2022

Despite the post activity decrease, number of active members went up a little bit: from 1174 during August to 1185 in September. Increase is very small and all those that wrote at least one post in mentioned period are counted , but it sure is better than decrease. After listening to feedback here on the topic I gave up on the idea to mess with that chart so I won't change any requirement and will leave it as it is.

Merit shared per local board during September 2022

When compared to August, September was very similar in regard to amount of merit shared (5501 in August - 5487 in September) so that's a good news. Yet again Russian board is ahead the others (they had solid decrease compared to August), followed by German,Turkish and Italian, which all had a slight increase in the amount of merit shared.

Among more active boards Pilipinas still remains severely undermerited so it looks like their merit sources are still not active.

Merit senders and receivers per local board for September 2022

Standard chart that follows the amount or merit shared. In majorify of cases more merit=more senders and receivers, but there are few local boards that stick out in that regard, like Indonesian and Pilipinas that have a lot of members being part of the merit system, relative to the amount of merit shared.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for September 2022

Considering the relatively similar decrease of post and merit compared to the August, this chart didn't change much; Arabic board is yet again ahead of the others with a pretty high 1.83 merits shared per board, followed by Romanian and Italian, with the standard names at the bottom. Beside couple of local boards, I think that majority can be satisfied with the ratio meaning it shouldn't be a problem for members who are mainly active in their local board to rank up, which was a pretty common thing year ago (well, at least in my local board).

The most active members per local board during September 2022

Last but not the least, list of top 10 members of each local board mentioned in the overview. Despite not being as active as before, with 205 posts @joker_josue managed to remain the most active member acorss all local boards ( counting only posts written in local boards of course), followed by DdmrDdmr (195) and mole0815 (173).

2889  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Celsius Exchange Data Dump Is a Gift to Crypto Sleuths—and Thieves on: October 17, 2022, 06:00:48 PM
That would be really ironic because Nexo was trying to buy out Vauld after *their* insolvency.
And before that they offered to buy Celsius but I don't think that they had any intention to buy either of those and instead it was probably just a PR stunt to show how great they are doing so their users don't panic and withdraw money.
2890  Economy / Services / Re: Closed/Banned PayPal account 275€ on it for 100€ on: October 17, 2022, 05:21:57 PM
Pretty bad deal to be honest, as if anyone takes you offer he will have to wait for 160 days to get their money (measly 165 euro profit) and there is always a possibility not to get the money even after that period, knowing how shitty PayPal is. Not to mention that there might not even be a PayPal account...

And yeah, if you don't like negative comments don't leave offers on the forum.
2891  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Celsius Exchange Data Dump Is a Gift to Crypto Sleuths—and Thieves on: October 17, 2022, 03:00:37 PM
Why do they have to pick centralized services if they can have decentralized services to choose?
Why do they have to pick custodial wallets to use if they can have non-custodial wallets to use?
Because an average investor doesn't really care about any of those things, they prefer false sense of safety. For example, I know a guy (friend of a friend) who is a pro stock trader for many years (he doesn't want to trade crypto, he says its too volatile and stressful for him), before that worked in IT for top company so he is not technologically illiterate yet he didn't want responsibility of holding his own bitcoin and instead invested in it via Grayscale. I tried to explain him how easy is to take care of it by himself but he thinks of it as being too risky (afraid of losing seed, hacks, $5 wrench attacks, what will happen with it if he dies etc).

By chasing a high yearly APR,'you are effectively selling your privacy (and lets be honest, you would be lucky if you make it through the first year).
When you think about it, ~10% APY ain't that much at all, well at least not enough for me to risk my bitcoin and give it so a 3rd party. Imho very bad risk/reward ratio.

We have crypto fintechs left and right filing for bankruptcy - Vauld (June bankruptcy), Bitwala (August), and the usual suspects Voager/Celsius/Hodlnaut.

I don't honk the fintech bloodbath is over yet.
There were some rumours recently that Nexo has solvency issues so they might be the next in line to go down. Afaik they offer similar APR to Celsius so that wouldn't be surprise at all.
2892  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal For NoorulHuda. on: October 17, 2022, 02:37:09 PM
@NoorulHuda2 , you gotta study that case and see if it is related to your case.
Nothing much to study tbh, each case is evaluated separately and since that unbanning didn't end up well I don't think it will help him much.

I think exactly the same as you. And I am surprised by this lenient policy with those who break the rules.
Forum policy went from being too strict and banning good members for having one plagiarized sentence or two, to being too lenient and not doing anything for obvious plagiarism and I think some middle ground should be found. For example, giving more signature bans, preferably for longer period of time (not saying that OP deserves the 2nd chance btw).

2893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Man who lost 7500 bitcoin in a landfill asks gov't he wants to dig it up on: October 17, 2022, 06:03:05 AM
Interesting- did the government allow the excavation of the site where he allegedly threw his hard drive? This is something that both parties would benefit- the man getting thousands of his BTC; and the government having to earn $70 million for revenue and project missions. I just hope that the man can absolutely recover his private key and BTCs, assuming that the excavation is successful.
Nope, still nothing. Keep in mind that he threw away HDD back in 2013, meaning its been buried under 9 years of thrash so chances of him recovering even if local authorities allowed it are slim to none. That guy should just give it up and forget about it, no point to spend rest of your life looking for that HDD.

I guess the government has to weigh the pros and cons of the project since there is no guarantee that the hard drive would be located.
They already did that (and concluded that its not worth the effort due funding and environmental issues.

Assuming that it is indeed found, it is still a tricky process on how the person could sell his BTCs.
That would be least of his concerns. We are talking here about 7500 BTC, not some ridiculously high amount.
2894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens to Our Bitcoin and Other Assets If We Die? on: October 16, 2022, 02:41:20 PM
Can you share with us what's your contingency plan? I also have some crypto assets and been wanting to make a backup incase anything happens to me especially that I have a medical condition.
I literally explained my contingency plan (no point going into details like "take the seed and import it into xyz wallet") in that post that you just quoted, you might wanna read it again. Wink

I only have a sister and she is not very knowledgeable in this type of technology. My parents on the other hand are very old-fashioned that they think that what I do about cryptocurrencies is just a scam. Even if I leave my backup phrases together with some detailed instruction how to access to it, I don't think they will be able to recover my assets if I die.
People that I trust also don't have a clue about crypto and are not really into tech but I don't think that is impossible even for them to figure things, given how many both written and YouTube guides are there around. After all, you can write them guider yourself and prepare them in advance what to do.
2895  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Porez na bitcoin i kriptovalute 2018-2019 on: October 15, 2022, 04:17:25 PM

2896  Other / Meta / Re: About rule 32 - When will it be serious violation? on: October 15, 2022, 03:52:47 PM
Right now I don't think violating this rule can get your account banned.
You won't get perma banned, but try to to it day after day for a longer period of time and you might get a temporary ban. At least I think that's how things work around when someone repeatedly break forum rules.

Usually, people do it unknowingly and mods themselves merge those posts.
Yeah I know that many are not aware of that rule but ignorance is not a valid excuse.
2897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins? on: October 15, 2022, 03:37:20 PM
It all depends on what you need but I highly recommend to diversify your investments for maximum profit
That in majority of cases means maximum risk and loss and not the maximum profit. Keep in mind that OP is still relatively new to crypto (started investing ~7 months ago) so I doubt that he has enough experience to sell altcoins in time.

While this may be the case, diversifying and investing in both BTC and altcoins is the preferred method in order to maximize your profits and minimize your losses.
Imho that's not a real diversification because all those alts still depend on bitcoin price so you might as well keep it in bitcoin and minimize the risk. On the other hand, real diversification is if you invest in something that's not closely related to crypto, like gold or even better land.
2898  Other / Meta / Re: About rule 32 - When will it be serious violation? on: October 15, 2022, 03:17:21 PM
The above user violates rule number 32 quite often. Even I have reported it few post but to this day he still repeats it. I've also reported that user's profile to  moderator for review, but as a registered user in 2013 then I don't think it makes sense to be warned too often.

What surprises me is that he continues to do so almost daily for spam posts or burst posts on gambling board. So when will violations like this become so serious?
Since he keeps doing it even after his posts got deleted, have you ever tried to warn him/explain him that what he is doing is wrong and might end up getting temporary ban because of that? Some people are so ignorant about the rules and won't even know that they are doing something wrong until you send them pm or warn them directly in the thread. I did that couple of times (not specifically about violating rule nr 32) and in majorify of cases it works so who knows, maybe it would work in this case as well.

2900  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Hacked?! What we can do better to protect our funds? on: October 14, 2022, 08:18:53 PM
. Binance Wallet (Trust Wallet) is safe to store cryptocurrencies. Do not leave your funds on Binance Exchange. Download Binance Wallet which is called Trust Wallet and store your coins in this wallet.
Nope, Trust wallet is not the place where you want to store your crypto for a longer period of time. It is ok for a hot wallet, a place where you will store smaller amount of crypto that you need for everyday use but nothing more than that. And even for that there are better choices if you plan to store only bitcoin and don't need multicoin support.

In hack in 2018, The hack impacted Binance’s so-called “hot wallet,” which is basically storage that connects to the internet and is used for liquidity so bitcoin can be exchanged. However, Binance customers won’t lose money, thanks to its “Secure Asset Fund for Users,” an emergency insurance fund it’s had in place since July 2018.
I personally wouldn't put too much trust into so called SAFU fund because if shit hit the fun and bigger hack happens I don't think that it will much, if anything. Its probably just a marketing stunt and nothing else.
