2121  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ponzi SCHEME Bitnaka on: February 04, 2023, 09:33:56 AM
Many Users told this user that the project he promoting is ponzi but he has not deleted his post. I requested DT members to check this and if this called Ponzi scheme Then OP of mentioned Thread should be flagged
Yep, its an obvious ponzi scheme hidden behind trading bot and I don't know why everyone is arguing there with him instead just tagging and flagging him.

Anyway, I tagged him and here is Type 1 flag as well https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=3104
2122  Economy / Reputation / Re: SBF-Ross Ulbricht on: February 04, 2023, 09:21:21 AM
It is really disappointing that one person is rotting in jail for committing a crime and the other is under house arrest for committing such a big crime. If the judicial system is done like this then the common people will lose faith in the judicial system.
SBF is still waiting for trial and while doing so he was released on bond which is a standard practice for a white collar crime. On the other hand, Ross Ulbricht was (among other things) charged with conspiracy to commit murder (most likely a bullshit charge) so he wasn't given that option.

2123  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why I will never trust top exchanges on: February 04, 2023, 08:52:14 AM
As for the auditors, they don't even know how to audit in the first place, or is it right to say that exchanges just know how to get smarter than auditors?
There are reputable auditor companies that can do a proper audit, but bigger question are exchanges and how much access they give to those audit companies so they can do their job properly. So in the end many of them don't even want to have anything to do with exchanges, like Mazars removed Binance proof of reserve audit from their website and halted all the other ongoing audit for other exchanges.

No matter what you plan to do on centralised exchanges, do not trust them.
You are preaching to the choir. An average bitcointalk member is well aware of all the dangers of dealing with centralized exchanges, but unfortunately we make only a microscopic portion of entire crypto community so too many are still using them as a bank.

@OP if you don't trust centralized exchange for anything including just to sell and buy your coins, not for holding your coins. Why you're still using centralized exchange? it doesn't make sense for telling the other people to not use centralized exchange but you're actually use it.
I haven't noticed OP saying that you shouldn't use centralized exchanges at all, but rather no matter you do, don't trust them (meaning being aware of the fact that every time you send your money to CEX it may the the last time you see it).
2124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hitting it's target on: February 03, 2023, 07:49:58 PM
I don’t want anyone doxxing themselves on the internet over a petty argument. Whatever his intentions were, it doesn’t matter. OP is a ban evader and would soon be banned anyways. In my experience as a business accepting bitcoin payment in Nigeria is that people don’t want to spend their bitcoins on commodities or services, they prefer to hodl it as an investment or store value against the naira inflation.
Since you are from Nigeria, how plausible is OP story that he managed to pay hospital bill directly using Bitcoin? I mean I know that crypto payments are popular in your country, but isn't government kinda still against it, meaning why would they allow (public) hospitals to accept bitcoin as payment? I wish its true, but to me it seems way too far fetched.

Its one thing for hospital to work with 3rd party service in order to accept bitcoin and they end up getting fiat, like its the case with 99% of the businesses that accept bitcoin and entirely different to accept bitcoin directly p2p.
2125  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk forum vs OpenAI - ChatGPT on: February 03, 2023, 07:40:38 PM
ChatGPT recently started with their subscription model (like I predicted) and they obviously want to earn money from all this AI hype,
but problem is that now g00gle is working on their own competition AI powered chat project called Atlas, so I am expecting more of this AI generated posts in future.
I am surprised that Google didn't buy them out. Or maybe they tried but they failed. But yeah, they really want to participate in this AI hype as it was announced today that they invested $300 million AI startup Anthropic.

Now we need someone to create Anti-ChantGPT tools.
You mean anti-cheat? That's already being developed, as shahzadafzal announced it few days ago. Its far from being perfect though and it still gives you false positive results.
2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin hitting it's target on: February 03, 2023, 03:48:07 PM
You guys do understand that OP is nothing but a ban evading bullshitter who makes up stories in order to scoop a couple of merit? Judging by all that praise and serious answers you obviously don't, or maybe you don't even care.
He is reported so hopefully his accounts get nuked and all posts deleted, liked it happened with the previous one.
2127  Other / Meta / Re: [Report] Ban Evasion [Requesting Admin/mod to check those and ban] on: February 03, 2023, 11:19:58 AM
Few days ago Loyce reported a shitposting newbie uche3235 who was word spinning in order to avoid being caught for plagiarism, but it obviously didn't work so his account got banned. Now he is back (this time with a completely different username uche6215 lol) but again shitposting like in previous attempt. I am sure that he will be back with another creatively named alt account, but can mods pls ban this account since his is obviously ban evading.

Word spinning newbie, please ban this guy: Banned!
Some people may ask, what are the risk in Bitcoin transactions?
And the risk are:
i, Bitcoin payment doesn't come with legal protection such as debit card and credit cards have a high rate of protections just in case something goes wrong ( debit card and credit cards it's traceable).
ii,  Bitcoin payment typically are not revisable.
iii, most informations about Bitcoins transactions are public on the net .
Most Bitcoin investors will not tell you about this.

2128  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak (filmovi, serije, knjige etc) on: February 03, 2023, 10:16:14 AM

2129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: February 03, 2023, 09:26:18 AM
Do not be quite so certain on this not winning the Oscar for the best picture award. This might be this year's Coda hehehe.
From what I remember, odds on CODA were never as big as they are now on All Quiet on the Western Front. And on top of that, CODA was in line with Hollywood agenda which is also an important thing and as added bonus, so is Everything Everywhere All at Once which is one of the reasons why its the favorite to win Best Picture award.

BTW, who do you guys think will win the Oscar for best actress? I believe Cate Blanchett has the maximum chance. She is being given better odds when compared to Michelle Yeoh (1.66 vs 2.20). BTW, I saw the movie Decision to Leave. Tang Wei's performance was exceptional. But none of the gambling sites have given good odds for her.
I saw all the three movies and imho Cate Blanchett did the best job in Tar so I think 1.66 on her is a pretty good odd, while as a film I personally liked Decision to Leave the most (I am big fan of Park Chan-wook and eevrything he made so far). With that being said, my gut feeling tells me that Everything Everywhere All at Once might reap the Oscar awards this year so I can definitely see Michelle Yeoh winning an award too.

2130  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly or weekly pay? Fixed or percentage earning? what is your prefrence. on: February 02, 2023, 03:50:10 PM
Things are too tough and difficulty to right now to choose weekly pay that may not be consistent. I can't deal with that. Especially when you have dependents. Monthly pay, you are sure at it comes in come rainfall or sunshine and one may actually have the opportunity to do some side gigs. This is not the case with weekly pay that may consume your time and energy and give you no room to do other things. It is too risky in my opinion.
Why would weekly pay be less reliable and consistent than a monthly pay and consume more energy? As long as you have a secure job, it shouldn't matter to your employed whether they send you the salary salary on the weekly, bi-weekly or a monthly basis.

Having said that, in my country monthly pay is a standard and since I got used to plan my expenditures that way, I wouldn't like to change it to a different schedule. And I prefer a fixed salary simply due stability. One thing I would like to see different though is if people in my country are aware of their gross salary because everyone here speaks only in net terms, just because so they know how much government acvtually takes from them.
2131  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ SCAM ALERT ] 👉 Pi Chain on: February 02, 2023, 09:07:30 AM
And from the three team members they presented, one name checked up to be valid, Pierre Mattei is indeed a Pierre Mattei who worked on Unagi, although he didn't seems to mention Pi Chain on his profile.
Yep, that was my finding yesterday when reversed image searched team members and question here is whether they just used Pierre Mattei name or is he really behind this. Based on his previous experience (worked as a lead game developer for one of the biggest video game publishing companies in the world) and the fact that he is a co-founder of some sort of football fantasy game, somehow I doubt that he would connect himself to something of low quality as this. But I guess you never know, stranger things have happened.

The best thing to do in order to remove any doubt is if someone contacted him directly and ask does he have any connections to this. I did that in the past and so far only once person in question was actually the part of project and all other times they were just using their images to appear more legit. The other way it would be to go to their Telegram group and ask some tough question and if they start dodging the answer or even deleting message it would be obvious what's going on here.

OP could some of that as so far all he did was shared 2 bounty campaigns links and that's where his digging stopped.

2132  Other / Meta / Re: What the heck is going on with imgbb right now? on: February 02, 2023, 08:10:33 AM
Any other alternatives while I wait for it to come back up?
I was using imgbb years ago but every once in a while they were offline for a day or so so I decided to check for more reliable alternatives. I end up using https://postimages.org/ as primary and https://imgur.com as a backup (I only needed that once or twice in the last 4-5 years when for some reason postimages didn't want to upload the image).
2133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A fortunate story of a crypto mentor on: February 01, 2023, 09:07:13 PM
I am sorry to say but the guy you are talking about seems more like a gambler than investor. I mean, he used DCA for some shitcoin as only those could drop ~96% during that time period and then soon after that get him 2500% profit. I wonder if he cashed or he ended up being a bah holder (my guess is the latter).

Another thing, if you were out of job as you said you were, instead talking to you about investing in crypto he should have told you to first get up your life in order and find a job before you can think about investing into something as risky as crypto is.

While what he said is not wrong ("only invest what you can afford to lose" etc), if that guy is a mentor to you when it comes to investing, I doubt that you will end up well.
2134  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ SCAM ALERT ] 👉 Pi Chain on: February 01, 2023, 08:45:03 PM
I see a project called Pi Chain running two managers simultaneously.
You mean running two bounty campaigns, right? From what I can see, those bounty campaigns have different bounty pools; one is in BNB and the other in their tokens so there is a chance that both are legit. We've seen weirder things than some shitcoin running two bounty campaigns at the same time.

I hope they both explain this from their side. If they don't give any kind of respons, then flag should be created because as far as I know scams have no place in bitcointalk forum.
If you have doubts, why don't you head over to Pi Chain Telegram group and ask are those bounty campaigns legit? That's really the only way to know for sure what's going on here.

Other than that, Pi Coin looks like yet another shitcoin, like the Pi Network on which it's based on.
2135  Other / Meta / Re: Request for the moderator position in Greek board on: February 01, 2023, 04:21:32 PM
And I'm sure there would be more efficient and effective moderation if for each topic there was an established, trustworthy and active user as moderator, who speaks the language better than anyone.
Of course it would be more efficient, but since moderators are paid I don't think that's going to happen. With that being said, I think that there's enough active people who would do the job for free like they are doing on many other forums but for that the whole system would have to be changed and each and every child board should have their own moderator (so they can manage the workload) and that kind of change is again not likely to happen.
2136  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Defaulted [Yolo89] ! on: February 01, 2023, 11:09:25 AM
I am sorry for your loss OP but why on earth you gave a non-collateral loan to a Newbie account? It makes zero sense and you were basically asking to be scammed and I guess you had to learn the lesson hard way.

User tagged and waiting for Type 3 flag to support. Not that it would help much, but still..

2137  Other / Meta / Re: Request for the moderator position in Greek board on: February 01, 2023, 10:53:15 AM
I don't have a firsthand experience with the Croatian board, maybe there is a global moderator who knows Croatian, or maybe it's sufficient for a global moderator to translate using a machine translator for the Croatian board.
Afaik no global mods speaks Croatian and they probably rely on Google translate to moderate ours. Its pretty much the same thing for "Other languages/locations" as all of them, are moderated by Cyrus and i doubt he speaks all those languages there.

I'm not 100% sure, I just make my observations, one of which is: if you've found a somewhat established, trustworthy, active forum user who's been accurate on reporting posts elsewhere and who natively speaks the local board's language, then it's more appropriate to have him moderate the board than a global moderator who's more prone to failure.
I 100% agree with you that it would make more sense to have a native speaker moderating local board than relying on Google translate, but unfortunately we weren't lucky in our request, even though at the time we asked for one we were among the most active local boards and we never even got a reply. I wish you luck though and hopefully you get some answer.

Try translating the posts from the thread I linked, and tell me if you can verify that it's off-topic, zero value, trolling and spamming. I'll wait
Have you reported those spam posts? Imho its worth a try.

2138  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: February 01, 2023, 10:43:34 AM
I don't know but reporting the post will definitely end up in a ban.
I wouldn't be so sure that one plagiarized post from a high ranking account will mean an instant ban. Few years ago it would be, but nowadays not so much as mods became more lenient.
2139  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Discussion] Bitcointalk Community Awards 🏆 on: February 01, 2023, 10:20:13 AM
Question both votes are not counted? or my vote will be counted??
There's no reason for your vote not to be counted as he is the one who copy/pasted yours.

I'd say: report the post for plagiarism, but don't tag the account. There was nothing to gain by voting, so it's not like he cheated a contest.
+1

Tagging and flagging might be an overkill for this case. This laziness deserves to be punished though so I think that something like a temporary sig ban would be adequate.
2140  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto lender Celsius mulls possible restructuring amid financial woes on: February 01, 2023, 09:09:57 AM
Celsius announced earlier today via Twitter that certain amount of users will be able to withdraw 94% of their assets, while court will decide about the rest 6%. Here is the list of those who should get (part) of their money out https://cases.stretto.com/public/x191/11749/PLEADINGS/1174901312380000000181.pdf. It seems like only those that had up to $7,575 and additional criteria (full list of criteria is in that link) are eligible for withdraw so I hope some of you that have money there meet those. Few people I know that have money stuck there unfortunately don't.
